- Ralph (10/5): - The homemade crafts and food make this a favourite of ours.
- Peter (10/5): - Very good value. Nice homely small boutique hotel. Very traditional but attractive decor. Lovely dining area for breakfast with homemade yogurt jam and cookies. A welcome break from the usual corporate offering.
- James (10/5): Good stay in St Omer - Comfortable room overlooking river. Six minute walk from rail station. Excellent breakfast.
- Eileen (10/5): - The breakfast was superb as was our host. Fantastic property and beautifully maintained.
- Ashley (10/5): - Stayed for one night before returning to UK - forget cheap chain hotels on industrial estates, this is the hotel to stay in if you're passing through St-Omer. Run by a lovely French couple, it's very clean the town centre is walkable for an evening meal and a lovely breakfast is included. Would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.
- Sandra (10/5): St Omer - Lovely French house to stay in overnight, very friendly welcome, home made breakfast and comfortable and clean room, real value for money.
- Michael (10/5): - The property was immaculate. The host friendly and helpful. We cannot find anything to complain about.
- Sue (10/5): - This is the second time we have stayed and we found it just as good as the first time, a month ago. A lovely large room overlooking the canal, very clean, the only drawback being the small , steep set of stairs to the bathroom - a bit perilous in the middle of the night! Also, as I was finishing my shower in the morning the hot water suddenly ran out. The breakfast was wonderful - fresh bread, croissants, home made yoghurt, home made jam, and a homemade custard pie!
- Sue (10/5): - The property was quirky in a nice way, great high cieings and old-fashioned furniture. The room was quite large and the traffic noise was not obtrusive. Parking was easy and free. The only slight drawback was that the bathroom was outside the room down a little steep flight of steps, and the bathroom door was through unlockable doors from the main staircase. Still, it didn't bother us. Breakfast was really nice with homemade yoghurt and jam. Would love to go back!
- Kevin (8/5): - Clean room, Friendly owner. Overall excellent small hotel.
- Karen (10/5): Lovely Place … Will Stay Again - Beautiful old house with lovely French charm. Large bedroom. Fridge, kettle and microwave in room were very handy. Host very friendly and inviting. Lovely breakfast with homemade yoghurt and jams. Would stay again without hesitation.
- p w (10/5): Unambiguously positive.place. Choose it ! - Exceptionally welcoming and friendly host, and very pleasant stay in property with distinctive French character. Breakfast with lost of home made niceties! Excellent, when I am in the area again I shall choose this one again.

- R (10/5): You can't judge a wine by its bottle. - Not the most attractive building but everything changes when the door opens. A warm welcome comfortable clean and character deco. Breakfast included home made yogurt, yum yum, and conserves. Our new favourite place in St Omer.
- susan (6/5): Advised could not take us few days prior arrival - We were sent to an alternative hotel Ibis Central St Omer a couple of days before before we were due to arrive. No reason given just informed they vould not take us.
Nit good customer ser vice as it was booked at least 6 months prior arrival... the ibis was lovel but no parking.
- Linda (10/5): - Lovely hosts and great breakfast. Comfortable bed and quiet location. Very convenient tor town centre.
- Ben (10/5): - A lovely quaint French house
- Kenneth (10/5): We would certainly recommend for a stay in St Omer - We had a lovely stay in this characterful house. Very friendly and helpful host. The only problem was the rather heavy old front door which was difficult to open at times!
But we were always let in quickly.
- Lee (10/5): 5 stars - lady was lovely, very helpful, very very nice.
wouldnt hesitate to stay again. immaculately clean and im fussy.
- Richard (10/5): - Stylish bedroom, good service and convenient location for visiting Saint Omer
- Jacqueline (8/5): Very pleasant - We stayed at this hotel after our crossing on Eurotunnel it is very easy to find. Owners are very welcoming and the breakfast was very pleasant. Parking across from the property is free. Easy walk to restaurants.
We stayed again on our return journey
- Mark (10/5): - Hosts were very accomodating and helpful. Room spacious, quiet and overlooked the garden.
- PJ (10/5): - Lovely old French house, and very friendly welcome.
- Julian (8/5): - Very interesting rooms with enormously high ceilings and characterful furnishings. Friendly hosts and nice light breakfast space. Homemade yoghurt for breakfast was a highlight. Noise from adjacent rooms prevents a very high score.
- Michelle (10/5): - Friendly welcome. Lovely homemade touches with the breakfast.
- Colin (10/5): Excellent homely place to stay - Lovely traditional house with very friendly people
- Elizabeth (10/5): Great overnight stopover - Excellent, 4th stay here, always welcoming, imacculate in cleanliness, excellent breakfast, we will definitely be back.
- Nathan (10/5): Visit to St Omer - A one night stopover, before heading south. A Very welcoming atmosphere,in an impressive building, thorough enjoyed our stay.
- Thomas (10/5): A special place in Saint-Omer - We wanted to find a small hotel with character for an overnight stay on the way to the Eurotunnel. This old house has a lot of charm and style and is situated on a small street along the quay and river. Free parking just outside the door. Clean and comfortable room with stylish deco, wonderful breakfast in a large bright terrace room facing the inside garden. Homemade yoghurt, jams and of course baguette and croissant. House is full of style and arts and crafts really making us feel very "at home". Thanks for a great stay. The tunnel was only a hop away using the toll-road so it was very convenient.
- Linda (10/5): A gem of a find. - This was a gem of a find (and to think we nearly paid more for a budget hotel)! It was easy to find, public parking directly opposite was plentiful. The welcome was warm and efficient. The room was large and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was delicious- “continental” doesn’t do it justice as there were several home made and untypical elements to it! We stayed as an overnight stop en route to Le Tunnel which is only 35k away. We hope to return for similar trips.
- Andrew (8/5): - We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this hotel. We were met with the warmest of welcomes ( acceuil tres chaleureux) and we were shown to our stunning bedroom where we had a very comfortable night in spite of storm Dennis doing its best to disrupt!
We had a very good continental breakfast which included fabulous homemade yogurt. Attention to detail extended to beautiful linen at the table.
Can’t believe the value for money!!
Very short walk into city centre was another bonus.
We will be going back.
- Gary (10/5): St Omer Hotel - Don't be put off by the exterior view.
Rooms were large and had what we wanted inside.
Hostess who greeted us was lovely and friendly.
Breakfast was continental and very good.
One negative, we turned up in the dark and it was difficult to find the hotel. Hotel sign is small by the entrance door.
Parking was easy in front of the hotel.
- Mark (10/5): Amazing family hotel, amazing breakfast. - Superb with an amazing french breakfast. Thank you.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A fantastic boutique Hotel set next to a canal. really friendly staff with homemande yoghurt and jams for breakfast, large airy rooms, with style and charm, and all at a very keen price.
Recommended
- Rachel (10/5): - Very enjoyable
- Joanne (10/5): - Great place with lots of charm just 10/15 min walk to centre. Only suggestion would be a lock on the outer bathroom door so you can exit your room into the bathroom with outhaving to get dressed and can leave personal effects in the bathroom
- Stephane (10/5): Discover St Omer - Very warm welcome and charming old house to stay and discover the area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A beautiful French building very welcoming and clean.
Like the old French decor and personal touches. If you like traditional authentic and atmospheric places to stay this is it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Loved it. So nice to stay in something so authentically French
- Alison (10/5): - Amazing house & Veronique was so welcoming.
Our room was gorgeous & so typically' french style'
Perfect location - close to the canal and only 10 minutes walk into the town
- Michael (10/5): Traditional French charm, wonderful ! - What a lovely bed and breakfast. The room was very French in style and large, with the most comfortable big bed, the deep bath tub was a nice bonus, everything was spotlessly clean, the breakfast was wonderful with homemade yoghurt and jams. The area is charming and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Quirky, very large rooms, lovely landlady. Would benefit by having a mount on the wall for the shower
- Verified traveler (10/5): - What a find this B & B was. We were made so welcome and the rooms are gorgeous - we were two couples and both had rooms overlooking the river. Rooms were large with tea and coffee making facilities and lovely bathrooms. The house is old with a lot of beautiful things inside. We were able to use the garden which was lovely and peaceful - we had tea out there when we arrived and later a bottle of wine before venturing out. It's about a 10 minute walk to the centre where there are lots of restaurants to choose from. The breakfast was a typical continental - croissants and lovely French bread with home made jams and home made yoghurt - which was gorgeous. Would highly recommend - so much character and a lovely owner.
- David (10/5): Charming with a warm welcome. - A charming B&B and we would stay there again. Our host spoke excellent English and was very welcoming.
- Mary (10/5): Quaint and quirky - A quaint and quirky Frnch house. Owners were very helpful. Breakfast included home made jams and yoghurt. Delicious.
- roy (10/5): Great Stay - What an amazing hotel, we really loved the traditional French feel to it.
The hosts were fantastic highly reccomend
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful old house, tastefully decorated. Great location near to the canal and town centre. Kind owners who even booked a table for us for dinner in an excellent brasserie. Peaceful night’s sleep before driving to the tunnel.
- Peter (10/5): - Nice B&B close to river and town.
Parking across road.
- Bernard (8/5): - A good place to stay for a taste of France. We tried Rils Restaurant, and La Belle Epoch for our evening meals - enjoyable meals and not too expensive .
- robert (10/5): Nice traditional B&B - Lovely tradition house overlooking the canal, our host was very friendly and helpful. Easy walking distance into the town for a evening meal. Nice room and bed, Breakfast was fine .
- Phil (10/5): Excellent - Beautiful room, charming hosts, great breakfast with home made stuff - what more could a person want?!
- Ian (10/5): - First class B&B - a lovely personal touch in an exquisite property.
- Edward (10/5): Saint-Omer - A hidden gem in the north of France - Veronique and her husband host their guests in their large home fronting the canal in Saint-Omer. The rooms are varied and we were given a choice of several with garden or canal views. There are different bathroom configurations. Ours featured a shower in a newly-renovated bathroom. It was a little chilly during our stay, but the supplied modern space heater kept us cozy. We were served a continental breakfast of coffe/tea/juice, breads, homemade yogurt, jams and fresh-baked specialty breads like lemon and pecan. There is plenty of free parking just steps from the front door. Saint-Omer is a great jumping off point for day trips to Dunkirk, Lille, Belgium, Calais and hiked along the cliffs opposite Dover. We’d rented a car and drove over via the Eurotunnel train. Highly recommended. There are many restaurant choices in Saint-Omer, but some are closed or have limited hours in the fall.
- Thomas (10/5): Brilliant - A beautiful & comfortable room in an enchanting house. The proprietors were very charming & helpful. within an easy walk of the town centre
- Verified traveler (8/5): Pleasant, well-situated but rather old fashioned. - Can't fault the location - right on the river & 10-15 mins walk from the centre. Madame was pleasant & welcoming. The room was cosy & old fashioned, with lovely linen sheets, but the bed (with head & footboard) was on the short side - no good for anyone over 6ft. Fridge, kettle & microwave were in the bathroom, which was rather bizarre (health & safety!). There was a bath with shower attachment & bath screen, but no wall fixture to enable guests to take a stand-up shower - something which could be easily remedied. Also, no hairdryer in the room - I had to ask for one. Breakfast was bread, croissants & sweetened home-made yogurt - no savoury options or fruit. The building was charmingly old fashioned if you like that sort of thing, but the hallways (and the bedroom) could do with updating.
- Justine (10/5): Homely beautiful Bed and Breakfast - Fantastic accommodation and really good host. Home made yogurt and jams for breakfast which was a lovely touch. They even moved their car to allow us to park our Motorcycle in their garage
- shelly (10/5): Beautiful hotel - Very comfortable stay, lovely hosts. Very clean. Easy for parking, close to restaurants and bars
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect overnight stay. - The welcome was exemplary, the room has old world comfort and style. The simple breakfast was fresh with home made conserves. The location is quiet but well placed for bars and restaurants. In short, lovely
- Steve (10/5): Excellent facilities, clean and tidy & welcoming - Excellent facilities, clean and tidy and very welcoming
- Richard (10/5): Lovely B&B - A lovely B&B a short walk from the center of Saint-Omer, a very tasteful classic French interior with plenty of parking across the road. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, they offered me all the information I needed to know about the area. I was only there for one night but had a great nights sleep and a rather nice breakfast in the morning of home made jams and cake. I would definitely stay again. Highly recommended.
- Lesley (10/5): A charming stay - Maison d'hotes Cap et Marais is a cute and cosy wee B&B. This isn't a modern place, but that's part of its charm. It's filled with all sorts of charming and quirky objects but this does not compromise on comfort. We had an excellent stay. Breakfast is pretty basic, but the croissants and pastries are fresh and the jams and yoghurt are homemade. It's a 10 minute walk into the centre of Saint Omer, but it's a lovely walk. The town has many nice places to eat and drink.
- Sandra (10/5): Well recommended - What a lovely place to stay right on the canal side. Perfect breakfast with home made jams and yoghurt. Not too far to walk for an evening meal and to the cathedral. Free parking just opposite. Well recommended.
- Susan (10/5): Beautiful French House. - Owner Veronique is a charming lady.
She recommended a very good restaurant to us.
Delicious home made yogurt for breakfast.
- Richard (10/5): Beautiful hotel rooms - Quite simply the best place we stayed at during our 2300 mile Tour de France. Absolutely lovely decoration throughout the house and the rooms are outstanding. Well located in St Omer and an ideal base for exploring the area or stop off for the ferry. Lovely home-made breakfast and the owners are very friendly and helpful. Will definitely call again.
- Annie (10/5): Handy for channel crossing - Beautiful sensitively decorated house close to amenities. Fabulous breakfast with homemade yoghurt. Hospitality warm and would go back next time visiting France.
