• Samantha (6/5): Overall an ok stay. Just a little attention to detail would make things a little better. - The accommodation was clean and tidy. The bed was very comfortable. The accommodation needs a little TLC. The walls needed a paint refresh and the silicone in the bathroom around the shower was mouldy. The curtain across the door was hanging off. It’s also very noisy there. I was on the bottom floor and could hear everything the upstairs occupants were doing and saying.

• Rebecca (8/5): Lovely night away - peaceful and nice views. - Lovely decor and scenery. Brilliant size room & I liked the furnishings. Bed was lovely and comfortable. Pub serves lovely food and good drinks. No control for the heating, was far too warm and fan was broken. Tv quite small and far away from the bed.

• Louise (6/5): Pleasent - The bed was comfortable and the room was clean Knowing how to check out would have been useful as well as the info that the pub closes at 8pm even on a Saturday night. There was no information should I have needed support overnight. A towel to fit around an adult would also be appreciated as well as additional deadbolts on the door.

• Sharon (4/5): Shame as could be a lovely accommodation but wouldn't stay there again. - The location was good. Rooms were in a block at the side of a friendly pub within a housing estate. Plenty of parking and a nice, quiet area. Décor of the rooms was nice, which is what attracted me to book this accommodation. On arrival, I got the keys to my room. I struggled to open the door, but once in, the door wouldn't lock. My room was on the ground floor of a two-storey block that opened directly onto a paved area, which looked like an extension of the beer garden at the pub. Not a problem during my stay, as nobody used this area; however, if pub customers were to sit there, they would be directly outside the room's door and windows. I asked the pub staff if I could change rooms and was told no because they were full. The gentleman came with me to my room to see what the problem was with the door, and he too couldn't lock it. After a lot of faffing around, we managed to get the door to lock. I was offered a free meal as compensation, but I declined it. The gentleman did say he would check if there was any availability to swap rooms for the following night, as I was scheduled to stay for 2 nights. I was disappointed with the bathroom; it wasn't clean at all. There were layers of dust on the skirting boards, and a lot of soap had built up in the bath and shower. The grouting in the tiles was black and dirty. The main room was pretty much the same, generally tidy with little to no evidence of a proper clean.

• Steve (5/5): Does not match expectations - Initially, the King room looked clean and pleasant with a wide bed albeit two single beds pushed together. It's generally well appointed, relatively spacious, and money has been clearly spent on the property in the past. There's plenty of storage space with tea and coffee making facilities available. The staff were efficient, pleasant, took payment on arrival and showed us to the room. Many basics were far from ideal: 1. The free Wifi access did not work - exact router name not found and the password failed for the one that was located 2. There was only one set of towels, not two 3. A mirror was missing above the vanity table/dressing room area 4. The missing mirror was found relocated to the bathroom, propped up on a broken shelf above the sink which looked like it was about to fall off at any moment! 5. The toilet seat was loose and attached at only one point 6. No staff were available at the 11am check-out so we had to leave the keys in the room 7. Poor sound insulation between rooms 8. The curtain over the front door window was broken, being attached at only one end meaning it could not be drawn across fully except for wedging it over the rail in the hope it stayed put overnight Whilst initially promising, Crofters comes up short in the essential areas on closer inspection. The surrounding buildings, and the Crofters itself, have seen better days and need maintenance - a new front gate and basic weeding would help lift the appearance a great deal. Whilst the Crofters was open for dinner when we arrived, we decided to drive the 10 minutes into town instead and take our chances there. Breakfast should be included for the money but isn't, likely due to Crofters reopening at midday...

• Robert (2/5): Worst place I have ever stayed in. - Nearness to my sick brother which was the reason I flew over from Australia. In three weeks the room was vacuumed and towels changed once. The electric kettle was full of scale. The desk fan was disgusting and the fans and cover were dirty. In the last five days there the bin wasn't emptied. The cups and glasses were changed once when the towels were done. There isn't a fridge in the room. I thought this was a standard for any rental apartment or lodge. Nobody came to ask me how things were going. I never saw anyone over the full rental.

Booked a deluxe king room, was given a small double. 1 hand towel and 1 bath towel provided for two guests. When enquired about more towels was told that there wasn’t any and to go to Tesco’s to buy our own.

Large bed was 2 singles put together so large dip in the middle and only 2 tiny pillows. Bathroom door wouldn't stay shut, no tv remote, random things in drawers, spider and dirty water in the kettle and out of date milk! Would not stay here again.

• Joanne (2/5): Terrible, Cancelled our second booking - The Barman and the housekeeping staff were very nice. Other than that, absolutely NOTHING!!!! Food options were very limited, manager or owner didn’t care when we complained. Rusty filthy grill, tarp laid on the ground for our entire two week stay, cardboard boxes left out and not put in garbage. The shower water pressure was terrible, water easily splashed on floor and when mopped up with towels they were dirty from the floor and it was not from our stay.

Food was terrible, charged $30 for one glass of wine, poor food selection. Grill was filthy and needed to be garbage bump, tarp laid on floor for two weeks.

• Lee (5/5): Passable - When arriving had to wait at the bar to check-in 25 minutes they all same more happy to help the locals didn't not get told how to check out as the pub didn't open until 12 o'clock and check out is 11am the room was full cracks in the walls and to stay for 2 nights as a couple and only have one towel between us for the stay is no good and to say it was 190 pounds for two nights which I feel like it doesn't meet the value of money I paid

• Wsy_solutions (5/5): Barrow in the sun - Nice quiet location on the edge of a residential area, tea and coffee in the room and room was tidy and clean. Staff were very polite and helpful. The restaurant provided some very good meals at reasonable prices. The Fish and chips was excellent. Great outside seating area and plenty of it. The bar area and restaurant were both clean and tidy and the drinks are reasonably priced. The bar shuts early due to not having any local custom. 9pm on a Friday while England were playing ? and the place was in darkness when I returned on a Saturday at 10pm. The room was clean, but the décor is very tired with wear marks on the walls and skirting, window nets were stained. Room was a bit cramped, but adequate for a short stay.

• Elli (4/5): Could be great but needs maintenance and a bit more care and attention made to setup and cleaning. - Nice big comfy bed. Good water pressure and plenty hot water. Warm cosy rooms with a kettle and some drinks. Fittings were shoddy some loose and broken. Water temperature fluctuated a lot and the bath leaked when I tried to use it. There were also hairs all over the bathroom so it clearly hadn't been cleaned thoroughly and I had to wash it down myself. Despite our booking being for a couple there was only one set of towels in the room when we arrived and half a toilet roll. Room was very poky and the towel rail was very easy to bash yourself on.

Since changed owners this has gone down hill, chief wouldn't make me what I wanted to eat even tho it was on the menu in the rooms.. more than likely wouldn't return, ashame, 4th time I've been.

After taking a shower in a slippery bath and hurtingy back was going to grab a bottle of prosecco only to find the place shut up for the evening.Not happy at all considering how much I paid for a night

• Alexandra (7/5): Could be super awesome with some improvements!! - Large spacious room with large sized bed and great water pressure in the shower. Plenty of free parking on site The room was quite dirty, the floor didn't look mopped, the bedside tables and wooden chair in the room where sticky and I don't think they were wiped down. The bathroom was mostly clean but areas above the basin and around the shower had been overlooked. Normally not nit picky but it was possibly the dirtiest room I have stayed in, definitely up there. There was also only one towel provided for 2 guests
