- Diane (10/5): A lovely stay by the canal - The B &B was easy to find and well placed to get around. The room was well equipped and comfortable and the breakfast was good quality and delicious. Lincoln was a short drive away and Saxilby, although a small centre, had access to a supermarket, takeaways, pubs and walks along the canal. Roland and Louise were lovely hosts. If we are ever back in Lincoln we will be sure to stay here again. There wasn't anything we didn't like.
- Ann (9/5): Short break - Very comfortable bed and spacious room. Lovely breakfast perfectly cooked. Good location and easy to get one of the regular trains to Lincoln. Hosts were very welcoming, friendly and helpful.
- Steve (9/5): I had a comfortable and welcoming stay and wouldn’t hesitate to book again. - Easy to find, good parking, very welcome reception. The room was comfortable and had good facilities. Breakfast was very good. Nothing
- Jayantha (9/5): Highly recommended B&B close to Lincoln - Friendly hosts and superb accommodation, made our stay special. Good breakfast. Our room faced a busy road and despite double glazing we could hear the faint traffic noise. Fortunately during the night our sleep was uninterrupted.
- John (9/5): Thoroughly nice…. -
- Cox (10/5): Fantastic 5* B&B and lovely hosts would stay again whenever we are back in Lincoln. - Very friendly, warm and welcoming hosts.
Very tasty home cooked breakfast each morning.
Room was spotlessly clean and lovely decor. Nothing!
- Vera (10/5): Will return - 10 min drive outside of the town. Nice quiet location. Clean and comfortable bedding and bed. N/a
- Mark (10/5): Great hosts, great location, great value - Nice room, very clean with a small fridge that had a small bottle of milk and some water.
Comfortable bed, some thoughtful touches like a small collapsible table and coffee for a percolator.
Good bathroom with a nice shower cubicle. Nothing - absolutely no complaints whatsoever
- Jennifer (9/5): - We liked everything about Canal View! Lovely to meet and chat with our hosts, who were smart and helpful and responsive before and during our visit. Bed and room were comfy; fresh milk and biscuits in room appreciated; breakfasts sooo yummy! Useful advice for routes to/from Lincoln & Saxilby destinations; perfect restaurant recommendations. Heat wave is no fault of the venue, but was a bit uncomfortable for a few hours
- Alison (8/5): Very good -
- Stephen (9/5): A very comfortable stay close to the city of Lincoln. - A full English breakfast was provided and a gluten free option for my wife. The property was located on a busy road.
- Whyte (10/5): Exceptional - I was in the area for 3 days training. Prefect place to stay away from the city. Neat, clean, tiday, tea and coffie in the room and a good breakfast. The Hosts are frendly and accomadating. I would stay here again.
- David (9/5): Good value for money - Very friendly hosts, comfortable room and excellent breakfast The location on a major A road
- Geraldine (10/5): Exceptional - Really well looked after by Louise and Roland who made sure everything was just right without being obtrusive at all. Loved the extra large bed, powerful ceiling fan (ideal for our extra hot nights) and wonderful soft bath sheets. Will miss the nightly hot chocolate too Shower unit is pretty small but adequate
- Donna (8/5): Very good - Good breakfast, very pleasant hosts.
- Deborah (8/5): Perfect place for visits to Lincoln - nice and quiet, enjoyed hearing the birds chirping.
Hosts were very welcoming Bit of a busy road out the front which caused me to drive straight past on my first attempt, but finding it after that was easy
- Pascal (10/5): Great place to explore Lincoln from - Comfortable room. Great hosts. Lovely breakfast.
- Sara (8/5): Visiting a friend in Lincoln and VE 80th Anniversary events - The BnB was in a good location as it was near to the city centre. The hosts were very welcoming which was appreciated after a three hour drive. The room was very clean and the bed was really comfortable. You definitely need that after a long tiring drive. The breakfast was delicious and it was nice having fried tomatoes rather than plum tomatoes. It's also good that the BnB have their own parking. I would be very happy to stay again. It is near the Pyewipe which does really good food which means that if you are tired from the drive to drive into Lincoln you can just have a meal there. It is also near Doddington Hall which is a beautiful Elizabethan Manor House.
. There wasn't anything I didn't like. The biscuits were delicious although it maybe would have been nice to have some Earl Grey tea bags in the room. Other than that I can thoroughly recommend staying at the Canal BnB.
- Herbert (10/5): This is a small B and B, very comfortable and clean with great hosts. - Louise and Roland were excellent hosts. A very comfortable and clean single bedroom with good shower. A very good English breakfast. Location was very good for Lincoln.
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Parking, comfortable well equipped room. Nothing
- Lawrence (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location train and bus links to Lincoln great English breakfast Roland and Louise couldn't do enough for us
- Deborah (8/5): Very good -
- Jane (10/5): lovely people. - Lovely hosts,
On side of village just outside Lincoln so great for visiting. For those without car, the village has train station and decent bus service. Plus couple of shops, a cafe and takeaways. Is on main road so bit busy traffic wise at rush hour.
- Harvey (9/5): Food and facilities excellent. -
- Phil (9/5): A week well spent in congenial surroundings. - I stayed here in early October and liked the fact that it was out of town but had easy communication via public transport- bus and train- Saxilby is a very pleasant village with informative heritage details dotted about and friendly local people. There was nothing about staying at Canal View that prompts any negative comment- everything was very clean and the hosts were friendly and attentive.
- Janet (7/5): We appreciated the good service and parking being accessable. - Hi The service and the venue where excellent. Thank you The sound of the traffic was difficult for us to sleep as we wanted the window open.
- Kathryn (9/5): Comfortable stay, friendly hosts, lovely breakfast. -
- Donald (10/5): Excellent - It was in the right place for us very clean and friendly and breakfast was very good and nice and hot hope to go. back soon Nothing
- Colin (9/5): Nice friendly hosts, if in area will book again. - Just about right and tasty
- Alice (7/5): Saxilby is not an easy place to find food in the late evening, apart from takeaways. - Traffic noise was a slight problem but the triple glazing was excellent. Roland and Louise were welcoming and looked after us well. The water pressure in the shower was very good, but the cabinet was rather small.
- James (10/5): We would certinaly stay here again in the future and would certinaly recomend to our frie - Location perfect for visiting Lincoln, room perfect and breakfast was excepional and beautifily prescented. Our hosts Roland and Louise were very friendly and provied lots of advice on where to visit which we found extremly helpful.Nothin Nothing, everything was what we could have wished for
- David (8/5): Very good - Nice and quiet Nothing
- Emily (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janice (10/5): Friendly welcoming hosts. Clean & comfortable. Will stay again - Friendly welcome by hosts. Comfortable clean room, excellent selection of complimentary teas coffees etc and fresh milk in mini fridge in room. Will definitely stay again when next in area Nothing
- Katie (8/5): Very good - Lovely and quiet, felt homely, very clean and comfortable. Roland and Louise were very helpful.
- Andrew (10/5): Great B&B in a lovely village. - Easy to find, warm, and welcoming reception. Went above and beyond what was expected.
Was slightly concerned about the location as being on a main road the possibility of road noise though the secondary double glazing eliminated that worry. Great nights sleep. Rooms and beds are really comfortable, clean, and a good size along with the en-suite.
Breakfast was comprehensive and more than adequate. Great hosts and would definitely visit again. Honestly I'm struggling to find a fault.
- Dirk (9/5): Such a friendly and considerate couple! Wonderful rooms, lovely food, very clean! Brilliant! - There was a good variety of breakfast options, including a vegetarian option for the full English! It was also possible to eat a takeaway in the breakfast room. However, we were the only guests at that time and I do not know if that would have been possible if other guests had been there. Please check with the owners beforehand. We were in a front room and the road was noisy with the windows open. It is our personal preference to have the windows open during the night and unfortunately that would have been a little too noisy for us. That saying, we had a very good couple of sleeps even with the windows closed as the room was quite spacious!
- Sheila (10/5): Excellent stay in a well positioned property to explore Lincolnshire. - Welcoming hosts. Super clean room and en-suite. Comfy bed and although on busy main road, noise was kept to a minimum with triple glazing and ceiling fan fitted although we didn't use this being a particularly cold April, having said that the room was warm and cosy to come back to after a day exploring Lincoln. The breakfast was cooked to order and delicious with good choice. The train station is a short walk away that takes you into Lincoln in 11 mins so would recommend this as an alternative to driving in. There is a bus from the station that will take you up to the Cathedral (it is a very steep hill) but would advise a walk at least in one direction as some very interesting independent shops. Nothing not to like.
- Stuart (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent All
- Jeanette (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (10/5): Very very enjoyable, would stay again if I needed to - The ovners are a very friendly couple and the village is very welcoming Nothing
- Baby (9/5): Superb - Hosts very accommodating and friendly. B &B feels quite homely and comfortable. Every thing is clean and tidy. Great hot bevy drawer in your room and Mini fridge. Also a well presented breakfast.
- Kiera (10/5): Lovely couple running an awesome little B&B. I will be returning next time I’m in the area - The property was immaculately clean and tidy. We were met on arrival by the owners and showed the room, which was a nice welcome.
The room was comfortable and had everything required. It was also straighten and bed made everyday without intrusion.
Breakfast was served to suit our timing before 9am in a bright room with a breakfast buffet of juice, cereal, yogurt etc laid prior to a cooked breakfast of choice. The full English was served on hot plates with local quality produce cooked to perfection with your order. We stayed 3 nights and ate it every morning, it set us up for a day’s work. Consistent quality too. The property has nothing I did not like but you could hear the breakfast room talking below our room, tho this is not loud.
- Kim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gary (10/5): Very clean and very nice stay - Close to where we needed to be. Accommodated my daughter and her husband without question.
- Ruby (9/5): great! - Location was good, easy transport links to Lincoln. The hosts are absolutely lovely, really thoughtful and accommodating. The breakfast sounded fab, sad I didn't really have time to enjoy it! A great stay The property is on a main road, so I did feel a little uneasy and at night the traffic was a bit loud.
- Roger (10/5): Ideal base to explore Lincoln and the Local area. Comfortable, clean room with excellent breakfast - Roland and Louise are excellent hosts, providing all the info i needed and more. Easy access to Lincoln by bus and rail. On-site parking. Room was extremely clean. Breakfast was exactly right. Nothing. It exceeded expectations
- Adam (9/5): Superb - Lovely staff, bedroom and bathroom was clean, breakfast was worth the value, good value overall Location couldve been a bit better, but can't complain too much about it.
- Sue (10/5): Friendly hosts, spotless room, great breakfast. - Breakfast was superb good quality ingredients and freshly cooked to order. Triple glazed to combat road noise but a silent ceiling fan kept the room cool. Brilliant hosts. Would use again. Hot chocolate sachets in the room and fresh milk in a mini fridge this is a nice touch.Great pub with good food a few minutes away Nothing.
- Haydn (9/5): comfortable stay and good value - the owners were extremely welcoming nothing was too much trouble, room was spotlessly clean and well maintained, even fresh milk in the mini fridge.
breakfast was fab freshly cooked and exactly everything you could want I couldn't have eat another bite.
wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if I'm in the area.
- Mason (8/5): Cost B&B with lovely surrounds. Ideal for a short stay. - The room was cozy and no shortage of Tea and Coffee. Parking was ample and for the most part it was quiet as I was at the back of the house.
- Simon (8/5): Good B&B near Lincoln - Friendly atmosphere, nice hosts who were very helpful. Breakfast excellent. Accomodation was comfortable and very clean. Handy for the train to Lincoln. Would be happy to stay there again.

- Geraldine (7/5): Good location for visiting Lincoln - Recommended as a good location for visiting Lincoln.
Leave the car and travel by rail (10 to 15 minute walk) or bus (five minute walk to the bus stop).
The room was spacious with a large comfortable bed, plus a ceiling fan ... brilliant in hot weather. The room was equipped with a mini fridge and fresh milk was supplied daily by the charming hosts. (No fiddly little UHT pots here). Nothing to moan about.

little close to a busy road
- Marcus (10/5): Exceptional B&B - Very clean, comfortable room. Lovely hosts. Room was large and the bed huge. Great mattress.
Breakfast was very tasty and we had a good choice.
Very convenient to walk into the village for a pub and supermarket and take aways. Pretty village with plenty to see. The drive into Lincoln was straightforward and easy and a train station is within easy walking of the B&B.
The B&B is on the main road into Lincoln, our room was in the front but we didn't hear any excessive road noise. Certainly don't worry about that. All was as expected and surpassed in many ways.
- Huw (10/5): Exceptional - Really enjoyable break - clean comfortable and plenty of space. Not cheap but a great base for exploring Lincoln itself and north Lincolnshire more generally. Breakfast was good and there are takeaways to eat in nearby. Would go back any day.

Enjoyed the provision of refreshments in the room. Roland and Louise were very welcoming and maintained my room during my stay. The accommodation is a little tired in places but did not prevent me from enjoying my stay.

I was greeted by the owners and the room/facilities were good. Well stocked refreshment making facilities within the room were a welcome addition. There wasn't anything specific that I didn't like.
