- Laverne (10/5): A visit to remember. - It was incredible, we loved every moment. Wayne and Riana were excellent hosts and it felt like home. Alex was an incredible chef and made us really yummy food. The house is a Herbert Baker home which is 100years old and has been furnished and decorated in keeping with that period. It has the original floors so yes, they do creek, but that all adds to the experience of staying in this wonderful place. An added benefit is that you get to explore Bethulie and meet her people and that is special. We would highly recommend a stay here. Nothing
- Oelofsen (10/5): - It wss so beautiful, peaceful and clean. The breakfast was great and definitely value for money. I liked it all.
- Wood (10/5): The venue is well worth the drive off the main road. - Dinner was superb and breakfast was excellent.
Wayne & Riana are wonderful hosts. Nothing that comes to mind.
- SV (10/5): Will definately be going back - to stay at the guesthouse again, and to see more of Bethulie. - This is a special place! South African hospitality at its best. Beautiful, clean and comfortable guesthouse, and Wayne and Riana are lovely hosts. Bethulie is way more interesting than first meets the eye. Plan on staying for more than one day. Can't think of anything. It exceeded my expectations.

- Clark (10/5): Magical stay at Bethulie - Beautiful old Cape Dutch house furnished in period furniture.. Beautiful gardens .
A really friendly owner who met one on arrival and told one a bit about the house.
The buffet breakfast was excellent and one could arrange to have dinner there as an extra.
We will be back if in the area again but we will definitely tell our friends and families about it. We could not fault our stay at all..
- Martin (10/5): - Everything was just amazing. The guesthouse is furnished with beautiful antique furniture, you feel as if you have stepped into another era. The hosts are warm and welcoming.
- Shirley (10/5): Excellent - Breakfast was excellent and the property was wonderful It was all good
- Billy (10/5): -
- Danil (10/5): - The Bethulie Guest Farm is an extremely unique experience! We just needed a place to sleep during a long road trip, but just staying here felt like an activity in and of itself. We were greeted by some of the most friendly dogs I have ever met (I am saying this as a cat person) and were prepared fantastic breakfast and dinner! I really wish the bathroom was a bit more detached. Both the toilet and shower are placed right inside the bedroom itself with very minimal separation.
- Valerie (9/5): - Lovely old house big comfortable room friendly owner. Very small bathroom area.
- Grimes (7/5): -
- Joel (8/5): - Gastvrijheid, heerlijk avondeten en leuke tuin met struisvogels Toilet geeft beetje weinig privacy
- Kobus (10/5): Little Gem. Big Memory. - What a great little Gem!
Riana and her staff are amazing and making you feel at home.
The vintage feel with farming hospitality is refreshing.
The whole place is filled with little bits of attention to detail and the food was just amazing. Great place to appreciate beauty and silence again.
Thank you. Nothing. Everything was great.
- Antoinette (8/5): -
- Jonathan (8/5): Exactly as expected with a beautiful building and great stff loking after us. - The whole experiance was great with no down side. Nothing
- Jan (9/5): The ideal stop over - Bethulie Guest Farm is a delightful place, filled with period pieces from yesteryear. My well appointed room was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. The well maintained gardens invite you to relax and unwind after a long trip, and the porch is an ideal place to enjoy sundowners. Both the dinner and the breakfast were delicious and are highly recommended.
- Clements (10/5): A definite place to stay again - It was peaceful and quiet, lovely scenery
- Rick (9/5): -
- Anne-Mart (10/5): It was incredible, loved the animals - Everything
- Rafael (10/5): -

- Sabine (10/5): Außergewöhnlich - Die außergewöhnliche Einrichtung, die nette Gastgeberin, die Lage, das gute Essen Es gab nichts zu beanstanden
- Pieter (9/5): - Very quiet and comfortable.
Riana and Jessie are very friendly and chilled. Will recommend to all type of guests. Nothing
- Michelle (9/5): Great stay - They have a generator and a borehole so are self sufficient, which was wonderful as the town had a power outage.
- jill (10/5): Great, quirky place to stay in Bethulie - Being able to live in a little piece of history for a night.
Rooms are characterful.
Sitting out on the stoop with sundowners!
Both dinner (by request) and breakfast delicious.
Great overnight stop to see both Hennie Steyne bridge and Gariep Dam on road trip.
- Gary (10/5): Beautiful period property in good location - A beautiful period property furnished with authentic furniture conveniently located for trips between Gauteng and the Cape. Nothing
- Mark & K (9/5): Great value for money - The older world charm and just outside of the village N/A
- Gys & Ida (10/5): -
- Bernard (10/5): - Atmosfeer, uiterst vriendelijke host, heerlijk eten, prachtig historisch huis, kom vgl jaar terug
- Marien (10/5): -
- Alexandra (10/5): Far far above expectations ....superb. Thank you Riana. - The Guest House was an absolute delight and the owner and her son responded immediately to a request which they remedied promptly and efficiently.
Cannot rate this guest house highly enough from every aspect -comfort/cleanliness/spaciousness /amenities in room etc. Would have loved a blockout shade on window but got to hear the birds in trees early in morning!
- Barbara (9/5): -
- Gordon (7/5): Great - Location and comfort The chops at dinner were burnt to a cinder. Maybe that’s how they are supposed to be in the Karoo?
- Gary (9/5): Wonderfully relaxing with great food and service. - The ambiance was completely in keeping with the house and location. It was like a Time Machine taking you back 100 years. Some might say that’s old fashioned but the experience is chilled and relaxing giving the opportunity to self reflect on what is really important in life. It’s remoteness but that is also its strength.
- Mauritz (8/5): -
- Chris (7/5): -
- Christopher (10/5): -
- Lourene (10/5): We will return! - Dinner superb, breakfast amazing, caring staff
- EWALD (7/5): Good location and friendly hostess. - Location was very good and the hostess was friendly. The facility is situated on the outskirts of the town and very tranquil. Breakfast was very good. The tranquility of the guest farm
- Zita (9/5): -
- Roy (10/5): Bathroom facility’s could be more private - A lovely overnight stopover. Will definitely be back. Thank you for a most enjoyable stay. Nothing
- Ian (10/5): - Wonderful host. Fantastic decor, if you like antiques etc.. Nothing. Floors are a bit creaky, but fit in with the ambiance.
- Ryan (9/5): Olde worlde charm in a lovely homestead. Can recommend! - Old world charm, living in a Cape Dutch homestead. We were made to feel very welcome by the friendly staff, and all facilities were working. The breakfast in the morning was also nice. There was nothing that we didn’t like. The dinner meal was maybe a bit expensive, but was very tasty. A larger dustbin in the kitchen are of the room would be nice. The bathroom area could do with a bit more privacy- the privacy screen does not fully surround the toilet. However. None of these detract from a very nice stay!
- Tania (8/5): - Lovely Farmhouse feeling with beautiful antique furniture and wooden floors. Dinner was fantastic with lovely lamb chops and veg and best Malva Pudding! It is one big house with seperate rooms, so all the guests share the house but each room is big enough with own small en-suite bathroom.
- Katharine (10/5): Lovely stopover. - Stayed in the pet friendly unit with our two pups. Great stay and food! We added their dinner service for convenience 😊 Nothing.
- Mark (9/5): -
- Anton (10/5): - Die vriendelike ontvangs deur Riana, die heerlike kos van Jesse en Riana en die rustige plaas atmosfeer. Die volstruise was so oulik.
- Manuela (9/5): - Bethulie Guest Farm is a little gem in the middle of nowhere. The guesthouse is meticulously decorated in a by-gone era style. The rooms are well appointed, and the beds were super comfy.
- jeremy (9/5): -
- Jacqueline (9/5): - The old building with various original features was a wonderful experience. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The dinner was a treat.
- Joshua (9/5): Charming gem in the Karoo! - What a gem of a place! Such a beautiful guesthouse and quiet and comfortable too. Deborah and the other staff were wonderful. We had a delicious lamb dinner at the guesthouse and the breakfast was so good too. Would definately recommend as a stopover on a quieter road to the coast. nothing
- Nadine (9/5): - We decided to take a detour from the N1 north to escape the traffic. Bethulie Guest Farm offered a welcome, peaceful oasis on our journey. Beautifully decorated to compliment the house! The rooms are large and the beds are very comfortable. The team are friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome.
We booked for dinner which did not disappoint. Karoo lamb chops, potato bake, veggies and yummy malva pudding for dessert. The only awkward experience was at dinner when we shared a table with 2 tourists in a very quiet & warm dining room when there was another table available.
- Colleen (9/5): Best of Bethulie - Deborah and Jess are wonderful hosts. Their communication is outstanding and their warm personalities elevated the experience. The dinner (additional charge) and breakfast were good.
The accommodation is historical with a touch of whimsy. Lovely home and garden. Each room has a basic bathroom in the room but for the sensitive beware there is not much privacy in the privvy.
The bed and furnishings are comfortable and there is tea, coffee and a fridge and TV in the room.
This is the best accommodation in a slowly disintegrating Bethulie. It's slightly out of the town, but a quick drive to, or longer walk to access everything Bethulie offers. Enjoyed the experience Creaky floorboards and you can hear when your neighbours run showers and toilets.
- Alex Modiano (10/5): - Deborah and Doug are wonderful hosts and really make a person feel welcome and at home.
- Adey (10/5): Magical Bethulie Stopover - Bethulie Guest Farm is such a unique place to stay. The interior of the house is magical. Deborah was a phenomenal host. And our dinner was delicious.
- Anneke (10/5): Stunning food! Stunning people! Lovely property - Beautiful and great location N/A
- Whitehead (9/5): - Very friendly people. Great food. Beautiful house and decor Aircon did not word and windows could not open
- Caitlin (9/5): - We had a lovely room, which was comfortable and Deborah did a great job of making us feel at home. The property has so much character to it.
- Katya (10/5): - The staff were incredibly nice and helpful. Long before the trip they made sure that I was informed about dining options as well as anything that could impact my trip, such as best route to travel. Nothing !
- Mary-Ann West (9/5): A pleasant stay. - The hostess was welcoming and efficient and the pre-ordered dinner was delicious.
- AMARINDA (9/5): Delightful - It has a very warm welcoming feeling I didn’t like the open bathroom in the room
- Christine (10/5): Super verblijf - Vriendelijke gastvrouw en personeel Toilet op de kamer
- Jane (8/5): -
- TpmJ (10/5): -
- Cathy (8/5): -
- JayJay (9/5): Always lovely to overnight there - Fascinating collections of walking sticks, model cars, brass bits and pieces, bric-a-brac and knick-knacks amongst the delightfully period furniture under high ceilinged rooms.
- Christopher (9/5): A great overnight stay. We'll be back! - My sons and I have been stopping over at Bethulie Guest Farm for years. It the best accommodation in the Bethulie area by far. Beautiful historic decor in a magnificent old farm house. It was all great.
- Nel (10/5): -
- Wilfried (9/5): Amazing Stay, next time will consider staying for 2 nights. - The location was excellent, and staying in a Sir Herbert Baker designed a great treat. All meals were also excellent. Great place to stop over between JHB & CT. Booking. Com needs to be more clearer on "Dog Friendly and more specific on what is available.
