Guest Reviews
- Neil (8/5): Very enjoyable - Excellent
- jill (9/5): Fabulous break at Lindeth Fell. - I liked the feeling of being tucked away from everything and yet Bowness is only on the doorstep. The hotel's decor is beautiful and the embience very peaceful and calming. The staff were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. I ate most evenings in the hotel's restaurant and the food was cooked to perfection. Breakfast was fabulous, I just wish I could have stayed longer so I could have sampled all the different options! My room, a single, was lovely and warm and offered tea, coffee etc with a homemade cookie left everyday. The toiletries smelt heavenly and I felt pampered after having a nice soak in the well sized bath. The grounds and garden at Lindeth Fell are maintained to a very high spec, the planting and colours truly spectaculour. The only thing that I didn't like was the weather, it rained every day !! That is beyond Lindeth Fell's remit. đ€
- Angela (10/5): Wonderful!!! Would definitely stay at Lindeth Fell again . - Everything about Lindeth Fell was wonderful , but particularly enjoyed the gardens, very kind and attentive staff and excellent daily breakfast. Nothing
- Helen (9/5): Great little hotel with friendly helpful staff. - Very nice staff, great location, very clean. Food was delicious Nothing
- Marieke (8/5): Lovely hotel - It was very quiet and a perfect place to wind down. Staff was very attentive. Food was excellent. Lovely comfortable bed! Parking can be a bit tricky if it is busy.
- Bert Jan (8/5): -
- Barnard-Smith (8/5): - Excellent supper and breakfast
- Irene (8/5): We didnât know this hotel , but loved it and will definitely return . - Breakfast was excellent .. lovely menu and great choice , although a few croissants or pastries would have been nice . There was nothing we disliked .

- Alison (10/5): A fantastic Country house with great staff ! Loved the whole experience. - Very homely. Staff were lovely . The view was amazing!
Cozy and quaint
- keri (10/5): Fabulous stay - Perfect location. Lovely garden areas. Food very good Nothing
- Isaa (9/5): Peaceful pleasant and well catered - Individual-not corporate Nil clean and friendly
- Mike (10/5): Great couple of days - Everything about our stay was excellent including room, staff/service, location, food Liked everything
- Bjarne (9/5): VĂŠrelserne kunne godt trĂŠnge til lidt opdatering, men ikke noget der ĂždelĂŠgger helhedsoplevelsen - Naturen og pejsestuen Intet
- Jessica (9/5): Lovely Hotel - I would definitely recommend - The gardens surrounding the hotel and the views from the windows are so beautiful. The hotel was very clean. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. I advised the staff that it was my fiancĂ©âs birthday and they left a Happy Birthday card and a towel swan in the room. There were lots of nice little touches such as they put yummy cookies in the room each day. The breakfast was fantastic and the scrambled egg was the best that I have ever had in a hotel. The only minor thing was a noise came from the pipes at about 4:30am on the first night and woke me up for about 5 minutes.
- Tanvir (10/5): - Incredible location and hospitality
- Luke (10/5): -
- Janette (10/5): - We received a warm wlecome when we arrived and were shown to our room. The room was very clean with a lake view. Nice small, quiet hotel set in beautiful gardens. The staff were very attentive. Breakfast was very good with more or less everything you could want. I don't think there was anything we didn't like.
- Jackie (10/5): -
- Rabiah (10/5): Wonderful stay! - The location was incredible, with the beautiful views to look out on each day. The staff were lovely and very kindly upgraded our room for our 50th which was above and beyond. Breakfast was wonderful each day, and their were certainly some items that were my favourite. All in all a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend for people to stay here.đ Some of the breakfast items we weren't the biggest fan of such as the salmon but that may be personal preference rather than it being bad!
- SALONI (10/5): -
- romsha (10/5): Outstanding service and stunning location - Outstanding view .. beautiful .. we would definitely consider coming back in summer ⊠exceptional thanks to the very kind courteous Mr Julian. Thank you. Everything was fine. No rooms for complaint
- Allan (10/5): A stunning hotel in beautiful surroundings. - The room was beautifully clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff were so friendly and attentive, always at hand to help when needed. The breakfast each morning was superb with a great selection. All in lovely well tended grounds. Maybe need more than one vegetarian option for evening meal. Nothing to dislike.
- owen (10/5): -
- Leanne (10/5): Lovely stay - old fashioned charm - made to feel special - nice chocolate bunny for Easter Sunday. - Beautiful locations and great food. The room was large and very comfortable - lots of chilling and close to Boâness.
- Emma (10/5): Short break. - We made a last minute decision to head to the Lakes for a couple of nights and this was an absolute gem of a find.
The house itself is in a lovely setting and just far enough away from town to feel like you're away from the bustle.
The staff are brilliant, very professional but equally welcoming and friendly.
Breakfast has plenty of choice with good quality produce.
Our room was a good size and immaculately clean.
I feel the room was reasonably priced and we would absolutely stay here again in the future. Nothing to dislike.

Rien
- Rebecca taylor (10/5): - Great location, lovely rooms, amazing hosts and the breakfast. Very accomadating to make our visot special
- Jean Sylvanah (8/5): -
- Eric (10/5): Luxurious stay - Beautiful grounds, superbly refurbished rooms. Felt luxurious yet homely. Maybe a couple more choices on the evening meal menu, though what we had was tasty.
- Michael (10/5): -
- Nicholas (9/5): -
- Roger (9/5): A great stay in a comfortable hotel, ideally situated, with excellent staff. - Breakfast was great.
The main meal we had was fine, but the choice was limited. We only ate in one night as we wanted more to choose from for a second night.
To be fair to the hotel, from the start, they did recommend local restaurants and the one we selected was excellent. Nothing that I havenât already covered.
- Nichola (8/5): Relaxing break - Lovely quiet location, staff were all lovely and the food was exceptional.
- Sarah (8/5): - Beautiful property attentive staff Only a shower cubicle and no bath
- Rob (10/5): -
- Heather (10/5): Beautiful, relaxing and scenic. - Beautiful views and decor at this beautiful retreat. Rooms are comfortable and the toiletries from bathhouse were amazing.
All staff were excellent, very accommodating. There wasnât anything not to like
- Alan (10/5): Next visit down there l would be going back to the same hotel - Staff very help full just ask for anything and it was done very good service Nothing all was very good

- House (10/5): - Relaxing.
Julian was the perfect host from booking in,taking our cases to the room,In the restaurant was amazing and he could also recommend which wines/drinks to have with the food l
- Gino (8/5): Rustig hotel om prachtige omgeving te verkennen - Vriendelijk gastheer, mooie setting in mooie omgeving Andere gasten waren nogal chique voor mij.
Douchekop kan wel wat aandacht gebruiken
- Graham (10/5): Very good starf Very polite and helpful - Very good Nothing
- Luke (10/5): Superb venue, near to Boâness, lovely place great staff and management - A fantastic old building with a great group of staff location is superb. An amazing quiet stay in luxury period surroundings Our bed was quite hard-although I was told these are due to be upgraded and replaced shortly
- Julian (6/5): Passable but disappointing - Location Room too small and house too cold
- Ricky (2/5): disappointing - The food was very poor, its over priced for what it is and the food was also over priced, not an enjoyable stay. not a 5 star hotel.
- Ben (10/5): - Good location, good breakfast options, bedroom was spacious and very comfy and the staff were very friendly
- Yun (10/5): -
- Alison (8/5): -
- John (9/5): -
- Samantha (9/5): -
- Trevor (10/5): Superb!! - Fabulous old country house hotel. Everything was first class. Food at both breakfast and evening meal was lovely, lounges very clean, cosy and warm with log fires, bedroom was clean and bed very comfortable. Staff very friendly and engaging but not interfering. Couldnât fault a thing!
- Conway (10/5): would stay again, nice staff - everything Could do having a lift fitted
- DAVID (8/5): Good relaxing break - Relaxed country house vibe! Good food Parking a bit tight, not for those not liking stairs
- Andrew (8/5): -
- Alex (10/5): -
- Dick (7/5): -
- Jim (10/5): -
- Brendan (8/5): Decide if you want a guest house or hotel. - Very clean and comfortable, friendly staff. Location slightly out of town you need a car or taxi. Walking is possible but itâs a long walk and uphill coming back.
- david (9/5): Lovely setting above Bowness with all you need for a relaxing break - Lovely service, food and location. Nothing really.
- David (9/5): - First class attention to detail staff were exceptional and accommodated our dietary requirements. Bedroom was good with superb view of lake Windermere however bathroom very small with a sloping ceiling okay for younger person not so easy for older person.
- Peter (10/5): - The breakfast was lovely and plentiful, whilst the parking was adequate as there were few guests. The room could of benefitted from having lampshades on the wall lights, there was a rouge hair in the bath and the dressing gowns were washed with too much detergent, thus not as soft as you might expect for five star accommodation, At the time of booking a table, the menu differed considerably from that seen online, in addition to the price having been increased. There was nothing on the current menu that was appealing and as such we had to go into Bowness for our evening meal, which we weren't expecting to do, as the plan was to dine in on the basis of the menu we'd seen. We were informed that the menu might be changed, but didn't see this when initially booking the table a week prior.
- Gordon (9/5): -
- David (10/5): -
- Tim (9/5): -
- Angela (7/5): Enjoyable but not exceptional - The location is superb The staff were friendly and helpful
The dining room, sitting room and library are stunning
The garden is beautiful
The bedroom was very comfortable with good facilities The dinner and breakfast didnât match up to everything else.
- Belinda (10/5): - The staff was amazing.
- Sameer (8/5): Excellent but not deserving the price tag -
- Melissa (9/5): Heerlijk hotel - Het personeel was super vriendelijk. Het uitzicht fantastisch en het eten in het restaurant zalig. Ook goede bedden. Onderhoud aan het gebouw kan beter. Het is een 4 sterren hotel. Mistten een krant en ligbedden. Geen sport of zwemfaciliteiten.
- Beverley (10/5): My base for a week where friends & family could visit me. - Beautiful location, property well-maintained, outstanding staff & service - nothing was too much trouble, words I rarely use to describe a hospitality experience, but true here every day. We all enjoyed our visits - myself, and the family & friends who joined me at this Storrs base. This is truly a hidden gem, and a rare find. Nothing
- Rebecca (10/5): Gorgeous property and location - Loved the quiet location, it is immaculately clean. The decor is beautiful, as are the gardens. The lounge areas are cosy and comfortable, nothing is too much trouble. We loved it and would 100% stay here again. It was so calm and peaceful and it felt like a home from home. Literally my only quibble would be that as we were in the downstairs room you can hear noise from the entrance way. It didnât bother us at night as the bar area and music stops at 10:30 which I think is an acceptable time, but you can hear people coming to look at the lounge area which is right next to the room, so you can hear people by your door. I was hoping for a lie-in in the morning but at 7:30am you can hear them setting up for opening. I thought a doorway before the room door might be a good idea, to create a vestibule.
- yiyi (10/5): -
- Mary (10/5): Warm hospitality in a gorgeous setting. - Friendly staff, top-notch food, and lovely grounds made this a highlight of our family trip (2 teens + parents) to the UK. Serene escape from the bustle of Windermere. Make sure to book for dinner then watch sunset over the hills from the terrace! No notes!
- Matthew (2/5): - Fair too expensive for a room that was false advertised. Advert said lake view when we arrived the room was not as we booked. Refused to give a refund.
- Charles (6/5): Lovely area and good food. - The food was very good and the location very pleasant Our room was very dated and not a pleasant place to sleep. We didnât feel it was as clean as it could have been and maybe this was because all the furniture was very old!
- Andrew (7/5): Good -
- Sarah (7/5): Comfortable stay - Tasty varied breakfast and cooked to order The room could have been bigger and more spacious
- Aruna (10/5): Exceptional - Could not fault this place. We had the room with the best view, and it had everything from comfortable bed to tea/coffee to bath robes. The staff is very courteous and friendly, and the breakfast was amazing. The property is a beautiful estate - quiet, green and beautiful. Worth a stay.
- Josephine (9/5): Superb -
- Mary (10/5): - Beautiful property. Excellent dining. Comfortable accommodations.
- Hannah (9/5): Superb -
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Lovely hotel with beautiful views
- Gordon (10/5): - Fabulous position Nr Windermere with great views
- Jenifer (9/5): Perfect Hotel for a Lovely Stay in the Lakes District - Beautiful manor house with lovely garden setting. The included breakfast offered many choices and everything was very well prepared. Dinner was not included in the room price but was available by reservation and was excellent. There were two large living rooms with comfortable seating. On a rainy, cool day there was a fire in the large hearth. Staff was very accommodating and pleasant. My room was quite warm. The windows were open but with no screens there were some midges (black flies.) The shower tray is dangerously slippery and needs a mat or decals to prevent falls.
- Cheryl (9/5): If you are going to The Lake District this is a perfect place to stay. - Luxury Country Manor house with modern decor & facilities. Beautiful view & gardens. The location was good close to town but not in the busy tourist strip.
The restaurant was superb. Just a suggestion. Staff didnt seem to know the best way to access local attractions eg. Ferry

Lovely setting
Good food
Nice rooms
- Terence (10/5): - A lovely hotel in a beautiful location with great staff, what's not to like ! The food and service in the restaurant was top notch but the dining room itself could do with 'softening' a little' - some art on the walls would be our suggestion! But that's a minor quibble , we will be back :-)
- Teresa (10/5): Lovely - The food and staff were wonderful Nothing everything was great
