Guest Reviews
- Tanya (1/5): Never stay here. When traveling, you can’t take the chance that they’ll even be open or have a reservation. - Nothing. When I went to check in, the door to the office was locked with a note on the door to call a #. I called & no answer. No call back either! Had to check into another hotel. False advertising to being open. The hotel kept my $16 service fee for both nights that I was supposed to stay.
- Ed (7/5): -
- Carla (1/5): - We left and did not stay. We got there. The people that worked there took quite a while to come down. Then, they told us they can't get into the computer that we need to drive somewhere a little ways away. And go talk to them.
So we can't get a room. It seemed shady so we left and went elsewhere.
- Dicks (1/5): The motel was out of business. And my cc still got charged. Ugh - The motel was closed. Out of business closed. And Booking.com charged my credit card but is telling me it is not a charge from them even though it says booking.com. I will dispute it with my cc provider and NEVER use their service again
- Tanya (1/5): I didn’t stay because they weren’t open - Nothing False advertisement
- Smith (1/5): - Nothing you booked me to a closed hotel thanks for ruining me and my sons weekend
- Martha Maria (1/5): Sketchy AF- DO NOT BOOK - The hotel is closed. They charged me anyway. The place is sketchy dark. Scribbled note on an envelope taped to the locked door asking to call a different than listed number.
- amelia (1/5): No existe - Nada por que no existe se lugar No existe ese lugar
- Carley Marie (2/5): - Not open.
- NATHAN (2/5): - This property has been closed down and emptied for some time. The listing for reservations is still available on Expedia and other sites.
- Bernd (2/5): - Hotel was closed. Couldn’t stay there
- Brett (2/5): - It is not open
- Danielle (1/5): Didn’t stay - It was shut down didn’t even get to check in That I didn’t get to check in
- Luke (4/5): - Closed
- Will (2/5): Closed and incompetent - The motel was closed for the season when we arrived. I called the number on the door and spoke with the property manager of their sister site in town. They were unprofessional and unable to tell me if I had a reservation at either location. They told me they would call back when they were able to figure out if we had a reservation, and I never received a call back. We ended up staying at another motel in town.
- Clayton (2/5): What a waste! Scam? - I went to the motel but the parking lot couldn't be entered because it wasn't plowed. There was no way to check in. There were no lights. I tried to cancel but the deadline had passed. I will refuse to pay.
- Bundy (1/5): Bad - Nothing No tv, no hot water
- Verified traveler (2/5): Terrible Place, What a scam - Do Not Use This 'Hotel'.
When we arrived, everything was dark and closed up. Handwritten note on the door, that the place was closed and to go to another town, to another motel. I called and spoke to someone about refunding my room. I purchased the room rental on hotels.com. I spoke to another person and they asked for my CASHAPP info to refund me. This place is a scam and a joke. I have yet to get a refund and its been almost 3weeks. No one has reached out since. Terrible place. Looks like a Bates motel situation.
- Bruce (2/5): - The worst possible scenario. The motel was shut down and all lights off. Another person with a reservation pulled in the lot at the same time and we determined to go to another OYO location nearby. Was a waste of time. Would have been better/safer to stay in the derelict location.
- Daniel (2/5): Very poor -
- Morrissey (1/5): Bad - Nothing showed up and guy came outside that didn't even work for them referring messages for the lady who worked there showed up at midnight to be told they overbooked and we don't have a place to stay so stayed in the truck in -12 degree weather this place should be closed down it's disgusting and we didn't even make it inside Place is a joke
- Michael (2/5): - No hot water. Dirty and heat wasn’t working correctly. Owner never plowed the parking lot, so I kept getting stuck. Most of the advertised amenities were either broken or not offered. Nobody onsite to check out. Put my keys in the drop box and left a voicemail not to charge for a second night, because I was checking out early because it was such a bad experience.
- Patrick (4/5): Budget friendly if you have 0 standards - Pulled up to a sketchy building that we thought might be vacant or even closed. We had just traveled 6 hours and were extremely exhausted and talked ourselves into staying. We opened our room door and almost left. There was a step to get in that was at least 12-18” high. The carpet was all torn up, the heat didn’t work (mind you this was November 21,2024) so heat would have been great. The beds felt like we were laying on wood. There was no give in the mattress at all. It reminded me of the display beds at a department store. There was NO hot water at all, even if it did work there was only a slight amount of pressure, so bad that my hose has more pressure. The TV was hooked up to the internet and when it was turned on it would show a program for a short amount of time and then all of a sudden the internet circle kept spinning, so there was no TV. We tried to watch something on our phones but of course it was the same problem. We won’t be staying again.
- anne (2/5): - Oh my gosh!!! We stayed here a few years ago and were the only people there. It was worn down at that time but it has gotten really bad since then. I had decided to give them another try as they were bought out, renamed and remodeled???
The woman at the front desk was nice then we walked up the stairs to head towards our room and there were some "permanent" residents with trash and belongings spilling out the door and the smell of smoke was pretty nauseating.
The first room we had did not have heat but had 2 space heaters that would not stay plugged in so...no heat in November. The second room was beat up and there was no blanket on my bed.
Do not stay here. There are many many many better options!!!!!
- Edward (6/5): - Room was clean. But i dont know if they were working on the upper level late into the night or if a family of elephants were up there. The "remodeling " didnt appear to have been started.
- Jay (4/5): - Staff was helpful but facility and room was dirty.
- Brian (6/5): Still needs work. - The hotel was in the midst of renovations. It was an old dump that they were fixing. The room i stayed in was passable. It was warm, mostly clean but the carpet was still old and it was torn in places. Also the entrance to the hotel parking lot is to steep. My minivan with a hitch scraped entering the lot. Go slow entering if you have a normal clearance car or low clearance vehicle.
- Joseph (8/5): One night stay - Although it was a brief stay, everything about the room was in good working order. I was surprised it was not busier for a Saturday night but most likely not the ideal time to be touring for most people prior to the snow-sports and after fall colors. The property was easy to find and I appreciated a simple key versus electronic swipe cards so I could leave door unlocked for loading/unloading. I would definitely not hesitate to rent another room here next time I find myself in the area, reasonable rates!
- Soder (1/5): Bad - Mouse crap on the bed. Mice ran across floor manager tried to reimburse me but booking.com refused to comply and work with the property. They were in the middle of remodel and winter was coming old building. They were also over booked by booking.com without clarifying with property management. This screw up is on booking.com. They tried to be nice and grant 27.00 off my $200+. Might as well kick me in the teeth.
- Rose (6/5): - The first room I was booked to stay in was really shabby and the smoke alarm was sitting on the table without batteries in it. So I had to get a different room right away. Every aspect of the rooms were outdated. Especially the flooring and locks. Dirty, smelly, and run down. Bathroom shower water temperature was either too cold or too hot. The bed linens were not made well, clean pillow cases were on top on the oftentimes reused top blanket, top sheet was not pull down for pillows to be placed on.
- PAULA (2/5): Lesson learned the hard way. - We couldn’t get anyone there to check us in, 30 minutes after we paid for the room through hotels.com. While they will take your money after 10 pm, they will NOT be available to actually get you a room that you paid for. We were completely stranded. At 1:30 am we finally found a hotel with one vacancy.
Funny story, the woman who had come in an hour before us at the hotel we actually got to check into had the exact same issue with a Love hotel as well, not sure if it was this one or the one they own in the neighboring town but that is 2 separate incidents of being stranded by this company on the same night.
- Liyong (8/5): - OK Price , Location is good.
- Dean (2/5): Massive disappointment - We were transferred to this location because we were told hotels.com overbooked them. Paid for a king size bed, but received two full size beds. Tiny room, no TV or WiFi, no heat with 38 degree nights, wires hanging on the walls, no smoke detector, no breakfast, basically there were NO amenities! If there had been availability somewhere else we would have been out of there!! Plus location has several adult/men type clubs right by it!!
- Ecklund (1/5): I want a refund! - Nothing. Forced to book thru Booking.com, then they called to say their check in service was down and could put us in another of their hotels. It was located in a town we had already passed thru, and was physically located in a horrible neighborhood across the street from a strip bar.
- Jeffrey (2/5): - Right across the street from a dispensary.
- Pamela (2/5): - No one to check us in so we had to get another hotel ..still waiting for a refund
- Mark (1/5): Had to find last minute lodging elsewhere - Nothing, couldn’t stay there Was not open for business
- Dale (6/5): Pleasant - I had a place to sleep. This location was closed so I was moved to the Love location in Hurley WI. Thankful they could accommodate me.
Room was clean and I slept comfortably.
Walking distance for dinner. TV didn't work- turned on but no local stations. Only channel was ROKU. Anything I chose to watch said it was no longer available.
Small room, no table, one chair other than bed to sit on. Floors sag, outside doorhandle was loose - door has been broken and repaired. Needs to be replaced. This is a 1950's era facility that needs a lot of work.
- Lawrence (1/5): This place really sucked - They did not offer breakfast, it was a total sham. The hotel was closed and I had to go to another place which was noisey and surrounded by stripperes,
- Garth (4/5): - The hotel we actually booked isn’t even open so they gave us another room in a motel in a sketchy area of town. Thanks for nothing. Maybe I should switch to another booking site. What a scam.
- Paul (1/5): No place Existed as Pictured. Joke - Could not Stay there!! A bait n Switch, place not as pictured. They sent text placed robbed?? What!!
So come to alternate Hurley Wisc. Motel, a dump next to bar.
Paid to stay at IndianWood Motel in Ironwood. Please Refund horrible experience!!! The first of a 8,000 mile trip!!
Paul Scott 810-844-3542, Home Sunday.
- Garret (1/5): Dissappointing - Nithing Hotel was closed when we arrived. No call from hotel until much later.
- Laura (8/5): The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was helpful and friendly. - Very old school. Nice N/A
- Michael (1/5): Do not allow bookings on this property. - Property was closed - I was forced to find an alternative motel Property was closed
- Crystal (2/5): - Was told the morning of my booking that place was heavily vandalized. I was told I could stay at their other property Loves Silver Street. I declined and asked to be refunded. Since I booked through Expedia they needed to talk to the GM of the hotel. Which they could not reach because of the vandalism of all copper wires being taken. I gave Expedia the GM direct number I spoke with him on and I don’t even think they called it. So since Expedia couldn’t get ahold of the hotel I was not given a refund. Not happy! Avoid any Loves hotels/motels. Scam!!!!
- Keith (2/5): - The property is abandoned. No people or cars anywhere. Should be removed from expedias inventory
- Brent (7/5): Good -
- Lori (2/5): - There was no one in the office when we arrived, but there was clearly construction going on blocking our access to the property. There was also a strange man who tried to approach us while we were trying to reach the owner, and he scared us off. We never did get to stay, I would not recommend this property. I can understand a property being under construction, but not leaving it unmanned when you are expecting guests and allowing strangers roaming the property.
- Trevor (10/5): Exceptional -
- Renee (2/5): 100% FAIL on service. - I arrived at 5:50 p.m. The lobby door was LOCKED, with a handwritten note to ring the door bell and/or call a specified number. I did both, TWICE, over the course of 15/20 minutes and no one ever responded to my rings. A guest on the property said the manager had left. Forced to find a different hotel, I resisted the site in the morning, and there was STILL NO ONE ON SITE, AND NO RESPONSE TO MY RINGS.
The hotel is older, grubby, and a bit derelict.
- Jack (2/5): - My 35 old daughter and 32 year old son walked away after seeing the room. The person at the office took us to another place even worse because the one on Cloverland had maintenance problems. I will be calling the BBB tomorrow to report this establishment.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Disgusting - Disgusting. Repulsive. The worst hotel I’ve stayed in. If I hadn’t prepaid, I would have turned away. Parking lot unplowed. Garbage everywhere outside. Room a pit. Hadn’t been vacuumed. Heater broken and stuck on high. Garbage still in room and under bed from previous stay. This shouldn’t be rented until remodeling is complete. Or bulldozed.
- Amanda (1/5): Would never stay again - Very sketchy hotel and very uncomfortable
- Kaitlyn (2/5): - 24/hr check-in is not available. We arrived around 6:00pm and had to wait outside a locked door for 30 minutes before staff pulled up in their car to check us in, all despite the "open" sign, a doorbell, and a security camera watching us. My phone was not making/receiving calls in USA for some reason despite my travel pass (as I'm not from USA), so I could not call the phone number listed on the door. After finally arriving, the staff member rudely told me that I should check my voicemails, and that they left our room UNLOCKED with the key on the bed. Any person could have walked in off the street and entered our room before we arrived. Completely unsafe. This staff member offered no apology, and was passive aggressive and rude throughout the check-in process. I have never been treated so poorly by a stranger in my life. Bedsheets were dirty and stained, it was unclear if the towels were fresh. We slept on top of all the sheets and instead used emergency blankets we had in the car. I will never stop here again.
- Colling (3/5): Too highly priced for what one gets - On the way to our destination. The beds were uneven mattresses. My hubby and I both sunk in the middle of the bed. Floors were dirty and too high of price for the stay.
- Justin (2/5): Yikes. - Ick. Gross. If i were hotels.com, i wouldn't want my company represented by this place.
- Linda (4/5): - No toilet paper, no coffee or cups, no soap. Very old & very dirty. Web site says 11 am checkout, desk says 10 am.
- Pamela (4/5): - Was very dark and nothing like the pictures we saw on the site
- Patrick (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alison (1/5): Bad -
- Roxanne (5/5): Could use some attention. - We stayed in Room 106 on 10/9/2023; $92.30 for the night. Since it was raining, we appreciated the covered parking. It’s a super cute rustic vintage property with snacks and water in the room – a touch I’ve never seen in all my travels. Unfortunately, the TV wouldn’t turn on and housekeeping had forgotten to replenish the coffee cups; there was no spare roll of TP either. The room had coffee, microwave and fridge. We laughed when the button to the microwave door button flew off. It may have been operator error, but the only options for the heater appeared to be on or off, so we ran it all night and sweltered; I wasn’t remotely capable of trying to tune both heat and A/C to get a comfortable temperature. Grade C.
- Desiree (2/5): Worst travel experience by far - Front desK and management was so rude. We did not stay. Parking lot was dark and there was garbage everywhere. Did not feel safe or welcoming.
After we decided not to stay we received a rude call from the manager. Would not recommend to anyone
- Francis (3/5): I have foundbetter deals - only place i could find room was cold
- Joseph (2/5): Disgusting - Dirty - Very Poor Service - Terrible. No one was ever at the front desk. Rain the bell 8 times, pounded on the door. Took 3 phone calls to get anyone. Room was disgusting and dirty. Garbage left over from who knows when. Wasn’t even the same type of room I originally reserved. Bathroom was disgusting and dirty. Floor dirty, unswept. Carpet looked like it hasn’t been cleaned in decades. Overall the worst hotel/motel I have ever stayed at.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not bad for the price - The first room i was given had no power at least the lights werent coming on. They gave me a different room as soon as i said something about it. Not the cleanest place but nothing bad enough to not stay there.
- Ruth (2/5): Terrible place - Nothing. The floor had a bead from someone else's bracelet and did not look clean. The stairs to the second floor were filthy and poor lighting. Even the sheets did not look clean. The whole place is very run down and there was only enough coffee for one cup. See below.
- Michele (1/5): who is worse - booking.com who gives a shit or the hotel? - nothing everything
- Sue (5/5): Ok, no great. - Location, size of room No toilet paper, toilet continuously ran through, very poor wifi
- Dianne (5/5): Ok - No breakfast was offered. Location for the reason I traveled there was perfect. No toilet paper was in the bathroom, hair was left in shower,, coffee maker in room but no coffee or condiments, microwave handle broke. Couldn't use it if we needed to.
Beds were comfortable. For the reason I needed to travel the property was exceptable. They just need to make sure housekeeping is doing their job. Lady at check in was very pleasant and helpful.
- David (3/5): never again - nothing Bed springs were noisy and room heating noisy.
Motel entrance to roo full of leaves that should have been swept up each day
- Peter (3/5): Bad - Nothing Easier to check in and cleaner rooms. Took 20 minutes to find a staff. Inside doorbell said not working and to use outside doorbell which was not there as they were charging the battery. I went to the residence door and knocked and I got an earful that I shouldn't go to their private residence. Told her there was no other way and she told me to use a cell phone to call. Told her mine was not working in the USA. She then proceeded to go to the office to check me in. Not very friendly at all. Not a good experience at this Motel
- John (2/5): - They told me when I arrived that they were overbooked and weren't all that gracious about it. Like it was my fault. Because of that, I had to spend $50 more for a room in another property.
- Snowden (3/5): Poor -
- Katie (3/5): Dirty - Location Very dirty
- Allen (2/5): - Needs lots of repairs
- Richard (3/5): Poor -
- Michael (4/5): - Very unsatisfactory. Would not suggest this hotel.
- Robert (4/5): - The room was clean and acceptable for the price. The stairs were difficult for senior citizens like us. There was a musty odor in the stair well and the property needed major upgrade/renovation. This was listed as 3 star which was way over rated
- Chuanping (2/5): A terrible stay - A terrible stay. It was dirty, there were cobwebs on the door frame and the carpet was dirty. The refrigerator was broken, very noise and didn't work at all. Is was said to include breakfast, but there was nothing except three or four donuts that had been there for who knows how long. So horrible. I will never stay there again.
- Mark (1/5): Garbage dealing with a third party - I did not stay there. It was horrible run down and smells of cat pee. I requested a cancellation. And I contacted Booking. Everything it was disgusting. They went thru oyo to booking.
Apparently I have be chat the full amount $91 bucks
- Korryn (1/5): The stay was awful - Nothing Everything, the towels and sheets had hair on them the biscuits and gravy was served cold, the place smelled really bad
- Mark (1/5): I would not stay here. - The room was dirty, the bath was filthy.
There was a note from the previous occupant on the floor stating how the housekeeping was bad.
- Mary (3/5): I will never trust booking.com again. - The lady made homemade sausage gravy I think, it was good. Owever, there were no lights in the common room for breakfast. In fact lighting was a sore spot throughout. Safety issues. Microwave and refrigerator plugged into a power strip, rather than outlet. No lights for back stairs, the front stairs weren’t much better with the dang screen door getting in the way.
- Anonymous (1/5): Dirty, not kept up, breakfast wasn’t open when promised 0630 left at 0700 still not open - Nothing Everything
- A. (2/5): This motel is filthy - This motel is filthy. It looked and smelled as if it hadn't been cleaned in years. I almost went and slept in my car. Absolutely disgusting.
- Destiny (6/5): - Our room was damp. The floors were wet and our refrigerator didn't work.
- Patti (6/5): Would not recommend - I resent reserved a room and an hour later told it was not an available. Also told a refund will take six days for the difference. Check in person was sick and would also be setting up the breakfast for the next day. We did not do the breakfast. Fridge in the room did not work
- Susan (4/5): - I think the health department or state needs to check this plce out. The floors were so dirty I had to put clean socks on to put my shoes on. The carpet felt like it was full of sand. There was a pair of slippers under one bed from a previous tenant, goes to show how well the rooms are cleaned. Would recommend bull dozing down it was so bad!
- Sue (5/5): As mentioned, I like the friendly staff with a nice smile, but wouldn't stay again. - The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. The TV selection programs were nice and plentiful. Was glad a breakfast was included with the stay. Shower sure felt good in the morning after not getting a good night sleep. Due to the mattress. I'd have to mention that the mattress was worn out to the point of laying on felt like laying in a birds nest. No support at all. You sink in the center. They really need to update the mattresses!
- Robin (4/5): - When we arrived the person in the office was in another room and we never saw her. The housekeeper person came to help us but the office door was locked. All in all horrible room, dirty and used towels and soap in bathroom. Stained floors and trash outside our room.
- Jeannie (1/5): Minus 5 stars - Close to our relative we were visiting. It was nothing like the pictures. It looked like it wasn't vacuumed for months. It was more of a motel than a hotel. The third day there, they didn't have hot coffee or fresh breakfast they had previous mornings. We had trouble with one of the keys to unlock the room. We packed up and left halfway through our stay (should have been 6 nights) and booked a different hotel. This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I don't know how this establishment can be a part of booking.com. I would never recommend staying here.
- Steven (2/5): - We found hair in the bed, holes in the carpet, overall unpleasant .
- Jerod (5/5): Passable -
- Luann (6/5): Ok - It was clean but it is OLD Old
- Gloria (5/5): No regrets— stay was ok but probably wouldn’t stay there again - Convenient location, cheap
Property manager was very helpful Badly in need of updating
Grungy carpet, squeaky beds
- Melissa (3/5): Poor -
- Larry (6/5): Adequate - dated hotel. - Staff was cooperative. Hotel showing it’s age. some renovation is going on. Certainly not fancy , more like a worker’s place to stay. Our room didn’t have heat. Staff brought in ceramic heater that helped heat the room.
- Frank (3/5): Never staying here again! - Location No toiletries. I don't think this motel is ready for guests. I stayed one night out of the 2 I originally planned. The next morning I gave the girl from the check-in desk the room key and told her to cancel my second night cuz I couldn't stay there any longer. I booked another hotel room down the street only to find out now that she never canceled my second night. So I paid for a room I didn't use. Terrible service! I'm from Ironwood and I have never had such a bad experience in my hometown. I come here often but I'll never stay here.
- Anonymous (2/5): We needed a room late at night so I booked it on booking.com otherwise we would never stay there, especially for 100.00! - The staff were very nice It was very run down and grubby. There were two people smoking pot on the balcony by our room right under a no smoking sign
- James Brian (2/5): - Do not stay at this hotel. There are cheaper or similarly priced hotels that do not feature peeling paint, rotting wood, and disabled vehicles without license plates sitting in the parking lot. When I pulled up I realized the pictures must have been taken more than a decade ago and with a favorable filter. Don't waste your money. Go to the AmericInn down the street.
