Guest Reviews
- Olga (6/5): - We stayed in this homestay for 5 days .
The rooms wasn't that clean , the beds wasn't fresh .
The owners , were kind , but didn't speak English at all . I wish we stay in different hotel .
- tomtomhongkong (10/5): Stay here and you won't regret - The young owner, Thom, is a very nice and kind person She speaks good English. Knowing which bus I was on, she was on the lookout and was already calling my name when I was still working out where to head to after getting off the bus. The room is spacious and quiet. The breakfast will fill your stomach. The parents, although do not speak English, always greeted me with a smile. The daughter is cute. They offer good quality bikes. Thom booked bus tickets to and from Phong Nha for me at good prices. Overall a very good experience.
- quocquan1008 (10/5): Hoan chau - We had the best time here! Perfect location to explore everything you want in the area (only 500 meter to Phong Nha Cave. Lovely and helpful Staff, beautiful surrounding and delicious breafast. Comfortable beds and great showers, especially for tall people... Best of all is Ms Thom, she is amazing. Very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and makes your time there easy and relaxing.. Probably one of the best homestays in Phong Nha....
- thaovy188 (10/5): Best value - The family run the hotel is really nice. We can check in early morning. Breakfast is delicious. The Lady helps us book the national park tour and bus tickets. She always smiles every time when she saw us.
I recommend ít.
- stephvgraham (10/5): Excellent budget accommodation - We were actually booked to stay at the Phong Nha Central Hostel, however when we arrived to check-in they had overbooked, so they sent us over to Hoan Châu instead and we were not disappointed. The location is excellent, right in the town near to loads of great restaurants. Room was clean and spacious with a nice view of the mountains, AC worked well. Shower was good with constant hot water.
The lady who runs the Homestay is so friendly and helpful. We rented a scooter and she organised our bus for us. Definitely recommend!
- MLyno2 (10/5): Best place to stay in phong nha - Absolutely fantastic Homestay. Every request we had they did happily and went above expectations. Rented a scooter which was great quality for a good price, when we arrived back from our tour the bus we planned to catch was full so the owner was kind enough to quickly get a room made for us, allowed us to stay very late for only a small cost and booked the next day's bus for cheaper than all the tour agencies.
Location is also excellent, in the main area so walking distance to main caves and to the more social areas so you can meet other travelers easily without paying for the more expensive hostel rooms (this Homestay was cheaper than 2 beds in the hostel dorm rooms).
- Tomasz (10/5): Very nice. - The lady owner is super friendly, helpful and speaks English very well. The room was clean and comfy. Great location and price.
- Alex (8/5): Good 2 night stay in Phong Nha - This was a good little family run hotel for our stay in Phong Nha. We arrived via the overnight bus from Ninh Binh at 4am, and although our reservation did not start until 2pm that afternoon, they let us sleep in an unused room upstairs. The room we stayed in after checking in was basic, but quite large. The cleanliness wasn’t the worst we’ve encountered by any stretch but also not the beat, however for the price we couldn’t complain. AC and wi-if were ok as was breakfast. We would certainly stay again.
- Vaniliova (10/5): Real gem!! - It was one of the best places I've stayed in Vietnam. Great value for a very reasonable money. The woman running the hotel is just awesome - speaks good English, always smiling and willing to help. I was very impressed by her 😊
House is very nice and clean, AC in the room worked perfectly. Ahh.. on breakfast was super delicious!
- Inho (10/5): Nice quiet place - Very quite family run place. Real great value and is a nice change of pace from over packed hostels. There is a lady that speaks English very well. The hostel is located very close to the bus stop(everything in town is pretty close).
- r0mybb (10/5): Great place to stay - We stayed for one night at the Homestay and had a perfect stay. Everything was clean most importantly and the owners were such friendly people and their son mincho is such a lovely kid. The room is basic: AC, own bathroom, good bed - all you need. For beakfast you can choose from 4 dishes they cook freshly for you, awesome!
- Ida_Frederik (10/5): Very nice homestay! - Extremely nice homestay in Phong Nah! This place was very good value for the money.
The room was clean with a comfy bed and good working AC.
The host family was very welcoming and extremely friendly. As we booked two cave tours with early pick up times we requested extra early breakfast on two mornings which was no problem at all.
And we even got two sodas for free unless we left the place without breakfast the last day. We had a very comfortable stay and can definitely recommend it!
- taniellh (10/5): Great location, great value, lovely family run homestay. - The family who runs this homestay is very kind. She arranged a vehicle to pick us up from the train station in Dong Hoi and bring us to Phong Nha (400.000vnd) and also booked our bus to Hanoi (200.000vnd each). We were able to rent a motorbike from her to explore for the day and avoid joining an expensive tour group. Room is basic but everything you need for a simple stay, especially for the price.
- DoThutrang (8/5): Cheap homestay, near boat landing Phong Nha cave, friendly host - Homestay is nearly boat landing, cheap and clearly
have breafast to make by host
have large courtyard to parking motobike
you can chat with friendly host many things of Quang Binh province, Phong Nha Ke Bang cave, information tourism ...
- cormaco266 (10/5): Great place to stay - This place was really pleasant to stay in - so much so that I had to book an extra night! The staff was very friendly, and the location was great. The room had great AC, the washing service was good and the breakfast was fantastic. It's on the edge of the town which I really loved - away from the loud music of the big hostels in the middle, but of course, still in short walking distance. They also helped me book my transfer away from Phong Nha which was very helpful. All in all, a very pleasant place to stay and I recommend it highly to anyone staying in Phong Nha!
- Jemmyjemm (10/5): Best Value for $$ - While every hostels and hotels never fail to try to sell you their tour packages, the lady owner was very kind and genuine in assisting us throughout our stay. She also offered us one of the best rates for motorbike rentals and offered us alternatives to going on tour; DIY.
While there are limited reviews, I would say this homestay is definitely worth a stay especially for couples who wouldn't mind some peace to themselves. They also have very nice rooms with a Hill View right outside the second door.
- 400joannew (10/5): Best place - The homestay has only been open 3 months so everything is new & clean and this explains the lack of reviews. The family are so friendly & welcoming. The young mum speaks good English & although the others always try to help & say hello but when they cannot help they call her. She has a beautiful 18month old daughter & it was lovely sitting in the evening playing with her daughter & getting to know the family. She helped us to book tours, buses & motorbikes giving us great rates for all and genuinely cared about our stay. Fantastic stay, also breakfast is great!
- 905francoisl (6/5): Nice but... - The little family is very friendly, which makes your stay so much better. Dorm has AC which is quite nice, beds are comfy, and it is super cheap. But there isn't much more to it, breakfast is too small, no atmosphere, they are still building things which is a bit loud, but ok. They allow early checkins but the problem is none of the beds are done, so because there are night buses coming in every day, expect to be waken up by a rukus at 6am when they make all the beds and let people in. There are also dead mosquitos on the walls and floors, which is weird.
