- Niroshan (10/5): -
- Rizwan (7/5): Good -
- George (8/5): Nice room on the lakeside - Our room was very nice wth a view over the lake, large bed and table and arm chairs for relaxng. Large modern bathroom. Hotel has a restaurant but it was closed on the day we were there, but there are two restaurants 1 mins walk (Indan Summer highly recommended). Locaton of the hotel on the lake allows access to lake front park and walk, 1000 LKP fee applies. Hotel is a 5 mns tuktuk ride from centre of Nuwarra Elyia. We stayed for one night connectng to Ella train. The hotel has 3 floors, but no lift, staff assisted with luggage to room.
- Sheila (3/5): We left early. - It had a nice balcony overlooking the lake. Puma was friendly. The bed was really hard and uncomfortable. The bathroom had a terrible smell. An extremely busy road cut in front of the hotel before the lake (which you had to pay to walk round). Long walk on a busy dusty road to town.
- Ali (6/5): Lovely views but hotel a bit tired. Lovely helpful staff - Staff were helpful and dealt with issues as quickly and as best they could. Nice views from room( except for rain) breakfast quite good except for juice. Bedroom dated and not very clean. Bed linen damp( possibly due to awful weather) but they did change it quickly and brought us a fan heater. Had a brief power cut which they also sorted asap.
Possibly most of these issues due to bad weather. Rooms could do with updating.
We slept ok despite road noise.
- Claire (10/5): Beautiful scenery. Great location. Shower the best we’ve had. Bathroom complements absolutely beautiful. Staff couldn’t - Excellent staff. Could t be more welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Nothing
- Shoumaya (7/5): Beautiful place to spend a couple of days - Location was great. Breakfast should have been included and maybe the room rent could be slightly lower
- Witkowski (10/5): Exceptional -
- Becker (10/5): Great location - Great location right in front of the lake with friendly staff and a lovely breakfast. The lake view is absolutely beautiful and adds to the charm of the stay. being next to the main road, there can be some noise, which is expected for a roadside hotel
- Antony (9/5): Superb - Great location
- Vinukondaiah (5/5): Passable -
- Alistair (8/5): Comfortable good value hotel - We were a family of 6 staying for one night. The room was well appointed and clean, and the staff very friendly. The views of the lake were very pleasant and town centre was an easy 10 minute walk away. There was nothing to comment on here. We didn't have breakfast as we had an early start.
- S (9/5): Superb - The view of Lake Gregory from balcony of room is awesome
MrSugeewa displayed excellent customer service ...he is polite ,friendly ,humble and goes out of the way to make guest most comfortable ..he is a great asset to the hotel .. Facilities in bathroom can be improved ....
Need additional rails to place clothing ...MrSugeewa immediately took action to install facility to keep toiletries in bath area .....
Price of room which is rather high should include complimentary breakfast like before ...
The window panes in the room should be changed to sound proof ....lot of noise disturbances until late at night ...problem for light sleepers ...
- Chaminda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ishan (9/5): Superb -
- Hemant (7/5): Select Room with Balcony with Lake views - Location & views from Room with Balcony Right on the main road & traffic . Little overpriced . Shower system & hot water need improvement . A cupboard to hang clothes would b better
- Ishan (9/5): Superb -
- Pirojsha (9/5): Superb - The location just across the lake and the view nothing
- Mohamed (8/5): Great Location - The Hotel Location by the Lake was great, the View from the Room in the morning was amazing, the hospitality of the staff was heart warming. there was some kind of a festival nearby with very high music which kept playing until almost midnight.
the sound isolation in the room could have made it better.
- Ishan (8/5): Very good -
- Ishan (9/5): Superb -
- Norman (10/5): Exceptional -
- S (8/5): Very good - The Lake Gregory lake view from my room ...and the quaint electric fire place in the room ....free choc , tit bits and drinks in fridge ...I loved the excellent customer service by MrSugeewa The high level of noise in the room ...no sound proof glass ...cannot sleep throughtout the night.. .bed natress is too hard and stiff ...bathroom facilties need to be improved ...no place to keep bath toiletries in the shower .....breakfast spread is basic and same items repeated everyday ...boring ..should have more variety of food ...Sri Lankan & Western .....
- Mark (10/5): We had an excellent stay and everyone looking after us were extremely helpful and made us feel very welcome - Large comfortable well equipped room, with large balcony and excellent view of the lake and park area.
- Carsten (10/5): Beat Hotel in town - Everything. Everyone made us feel comfortable
- Chathuranga (2/5): Very poor -

- Upendra (10/5): Exceptional - Great view and friendly staff.
- Alex (5/5): Great except in April - Superb location with great view.
They offered payment refund even though we left one day earlier than booked. Unfortunately we were not aware of the festival, which takes place every year in April. The noise was incredible and lasted from early afternoon till midnat. The bed was literally shaking in rhythm with the music.
- Nishchal (9/5): Best Located! Stunning views of Lake Gregory! - A very beautifully located hotel. Mind-blowing views of Lake Gregory right from our room! Great breakfast provided by the property owners/ staff. They also have a restaurant in the property.
We stayed here for 3 nights and had a great time in Nuwara Eliya! Definitely recommend.
- Priyadarshi (2/5): Very poor - located within walking distance of the lake. staff was friendly. the room ergonomic was shocking. there were no windows. there was a huge skylight with no curtains. all through the night light from road keeps flooding the room. the morning sun hits the room and makes it tough to sleep after sunrise. sound proofing of room not good either. music from the lake side hotels can be clearly heard in the room.
- Vasantha (7/5): Really nice and cool place. - Location and friendly staff - specially the person welcome us ( cant remember the name) he is very supportive and helping us. The Chief really cool person and very understanding. Front desk girl too nice to us and she need to be bit trained in guest relations Etc. Breakfast. There is no eggs for a breakfast is totally amazed us, well there should be a choice for the guests to select. Understandably it might be due to shortage or a price, but we were offered on demand at a cost..! not really nice as we take B/F as our first meal till supper.
- Amith (7/5): Good -
- Chaminda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kushan (7/5): Good - Superb location Food variety could be improved
- Vinit (8/5): Very good - Location, room size No lift, no Fans or AC
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - Me and my family stayed here for 2 nights. The room was clean and a great layout for my family. Breakfast was good and a lot of options. Staff was polite & It's in a great location Nuwara Eliya. Highly recommended
- Prashan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional staff, excellent food and clean environment. - We stayed for three nights at the Royal Lake Hotel, and we totally enjoyed our time there. From the first moment, we felt very welcomed as Nalindaa. You can easily walk to Gregory Lake from the hotel. Nalinda made everything perfect as he arranged all of our special wishes and really wanted you to feel comfortable. For example, he promptly organized a scooter for us. The price was even lower than stated in our travel guide. We also had a delicious dinner and breakfast, as well as lunch packages for our trip to Horton Plains. Nothing.
- Elias (10/5): Exceptional - A spacious room with a lake view. We really loved our room. clean bathroom. Dinner and breakfast are very tasty. Very friendly staff. Near the lake and best view.
- Mohammed (9/5): Superb -
- Olhadarchuk (10/5): Exceptional - The staff here are truly exceptional. They could not have made more effort. Genuinely warm friendly and extremely professional. Lovely hotel and incredibly well managed.
- Astridmaja (10/5): Exceptional - We didn't choose the previous guest's remark. I never thought we would get into such a beautiful hotel in Nuwaraeliya. The welcome and check-in were quick and easy. The welcome from the bellboy to reception was genuine. The room is big and very homely. The lake view and amenities are so good. A large bathroom with hot water is available. The restaurant had a nice view of the lake. We loved it. The Sri Lankan food we had was the best we've had for the last few days in Sri Lanka. Please keep in mind that some menus are a la carte due to a smaller number of people; however, this is generally consistent with the menu. This is a beautiful hotel with well-trained and good staff. We extended our stay by one more day because it was very homely. Nothing, everything was perfect.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Damp Room - The room was damp and the heater didn’t work. No housekeeping so had wet towels for the 2nd day. Front desk staff hard to get hold of.
