Guest Reviews
- Kevin (10/5): - The reviews for this motel are absolutely Savage. Most of the really awful stuff you might read is old, and out of date. The current odors have spent time and effort remodeling this place. It is a husband and wife, and they are exceptionally nice people.
- fred (2/5): - The services were inaccurate no internet no TV really no service at all took forever to get checked in then they couldn't speak English at all hardly
- Wayne (4/5): - Might have bed bugs woke up with bites on my arm.
- Elley (2/5): - We did not stay. We found another one up the road after the manager lady told us there were no more in Russell Springs! Laker Inn was a lot better!
This place needs shut down!!
- Casey (2/5): - Was so dirty we treat the floor like lava .
- Alisha (2/5): - Theres roaches in the room and it wasnt clean
- Misty (2/5): Disappointed - Hotel had roaches there was no key for the room the floors was dirty, if I could have found another room I wouldn’t have stayed. Gross.
- steve (2/5): - Not clean. Broken fuxtures. Dirty soiled linens. Sketchy.
- CHRISTINE (2/5): - We were very disappointed with the motel. First, we had reserved 5 rooms. On arrival, they said they could only do 4 & asked if we wanted to see the room first (Weird). While inspecting the room, there was a roach on the bed. Everything unsanitary. They did offer a refund. We stayed elsewhere.
- Rebecca (6/5): - THEY REQUIRED A CASH DEPOSIT AND WE DON'T CARRY CASH AND IT WAS LATE AT NIGHT. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADVERTISED WHEN BOOKING NOT WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT THE HOTEL.
- Kenny (2/5): - Bad
- Jason (2/5): - This motel should be visited by the board of health and shut down until, at least, the roaches have been removed. All the rooms need immediate and extensive repair.
My bedding had not been changed and when requested I had to do it myself, with stained sheets and pillow cases.
The manager was completely unable to communicate with (language barrier) and was absent, staying in other occupied rooms.
I usually refuse to leave a negative review but this is for fair warning to those considering a stay there.
- Lisa (2/5): - This property had roaches and ants in the rooms. They were also stingy with the bath towels. Not worth the money.
- Gary (4/5): - Not up to Expedia standards! Door frame had dirty hand prints on the inside. Towels had stains despite being laundered. Same for the sheet. Trim around the tub was loose and had been for a while.
Neighborhood was safe.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Very dirty - My room was very dirty. I didn't want to touch anything. The door and walls was very dirty. The tub and shower was not clean looking. Bugs on the floor. Had to wait inside a hot outside room to check in. Communication was not good at all. Holes in the blanket. I took pictures of the room. I would not stay there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Solace at the Springs - Springs Motel was personal friendly service, easy check in and check out - quiet and cozy
- Paul (2/5): Cockroaches and Bedbugs Motel - This place should be closed down.Nasty and very dirty.Bed bugs and cockroaches.Woke up and turned on the bathroom lights to see cockroaches running across the floor.Bathtub was disgusting with something black in the bottom. The walls looked like it has smeared on them.Bed bugs. The internet did work
- Raymond (2/5): - Needs update. I would never stay again
- Brandon (2/5): - Dirty. Bad dirty. Guy at desk shady
- Nathan (4/5): bad - terrible, no hot water. broken shower nob, stains on wall, stains on towels, stains on blankets. no wi-fi. weird smell
The internet did work
- Matthew (2/5): - I have never seen a hotel in this bad of shape!! It had a foul smell, it was dirty, and should be condemned. We did not stay there it was so bad. Thanks to Experian. I got my money back.
- Cindy and Jeff (6/5): Ok - My stay was as expected. This is an outdated old hotel it’s been around forever. The owners are doing the best they can with what they have. I was not disappointed with my room it was exactly what I expected. I do think that the hotel needs to invest in some new linens.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Definitely get what you paid for…. - The place looked cute and appeared clean but wasn’t very clean.
- Ashley (10/5): - .
- Eugene (2/5): - Someon s dirty underware was left in my room, bugs was crawling around over my sink
- Jessica (2/5): - Gross
- Dennis (2/5): - Staff could barely speak English. My reservation wasn’t available because they claimed internet was down. At least that’s what I thought the guy said because he could barely speak English. Had to reregister. They required a CASH $100 deposit that was not mentioned until check in, with no offer of a receipt for the cash.
Room was disgusting and filthy. Stains and dirt on sheets. (Plus I took blacklight photos that would turn your stomach.) Walls absolutely filthy, bathtub filthy including stains and actual dirt in it and cigarette burns all along tub edge, despite the posted signs that said smoking was not allowed. Stains and streaks on mirror and tons of dirt on doors. Mini fridge was frozen over and unusable. Only one towel in room. No hair dryer. No extra lock on door, just the door knob lock. Wires hanging down from TV with cable box just dangling on the wall. Remote didn’t even turn TV on or off.
Bed was so filthy that I went to store and bought my own linens and pillow to put on top of bed. Didn’t want to touch nasty bed. Sheets were also about 50 thread count. Cardboard would have been softer. And only one super thin cover on bed.
Air conditioner barely worked and had broken case and fins. Trash all around door and parking lot outside. Fountain in parking lot broken with no water and weeds growing all around it. Broken towel rack pieces scattered around the room.
Over all it was the worst hotel from I have even seen. Absolutely nasty.
Do not ever stay here!
- Sid (8/5): - The location was good. A surprise requirement for a $100.00 cash deposit was not appreciated. That was not on the web page or indicated at all until arrival to check in.
The staff was friendly and efficient.
- Jeff (4/5): - No electricity, no hot water . Had to pay cash . Very noisy people in and out all hrs of night . Dog barking early in the morning .
- Deanna (10/5): - The staff is really great! I know I will have a comfy bed and nice stay
- Deanna (10/5): - I always have a rested comfortable stay. The staff here are very nice and helpful.
- Deanna (10/5): - Its a very nice place to stay and rest easy. Very comfy beds and great staff ..
- Deanna (8/5): - The staff and rooms ....great place to stop
- Deanna (10/5): - The staff here are very nice. A nice comfortable bed and a lot of quiet.
- Deanna (8/5): - The staff is always nice and helpful. My room is always clean.
- Deanna (8/5): - Staff is very nice. Room is clean and very comfy bed
- Danny (6/5): - The location of the property is good with respect to near-by dining, gas stations & shopping.
Property has new owners and some remodel work is on going. Non-smoking rooms still smell like an ash tray.
Thick dust / lint under the bed, towel on floor behind the bathroom door, makes you wonder how well it gets cleaned between guest stays.
- Chris (2/5): - Moldy musty furniture rooms and check in procedures
- Deanna (8/5): - Clean rooms! great price, nice staff and comfy bed.
- Deanna (8/5): - The staff very nice and the beds are always comfy, clean.
- David (10/5): - Very convenient location staff is very hospitable
- Paula (8/5): - Quite and owners are very nice
- Tfinisson_1 (2/5): Terrible - The hotel is horrible me and some friends had bought rooms and when we had got there well he told us to wait because he was smoking a cigarette we had to wait till he was done and then they didn’t have our rooms available he had booked over top of ours . When we asked for a refund he wouldn’t give us one and refused to give our money back. We then looked at one of the rooms because my friend was gonna stay because they had hers and the bed was nasty had stains and black stuff all over it, the walls were horrible , shower was nasty I could keep going on . And their costumer service was horrible the guy lives in the office very unprofessional. DO NOT STAY HERE. I have called the health department on them.
- Jim (6/5): - The first room they offered was a pit, so I went and told them such and the moved us to (what they called the suite) but I would call it just okay. On second morning there were ants all in the bathroom, why I don't have a clue. They did only charge me 92.10 so I guess since you guys charged our credit card 130 plus we will see a refund on our next bill. As far as the people they were nice.
- Angela (4/5): - N/A
- Michael (2/5): Beware, Bed Bugs!!!!! - The manager that gave us our key seemed nice but that was the best part of our experience. when we opened the door and turned on the light, several bugs went crawling across the floor. I killed 4 of them. I'm pretty sure they were bed bugs. I've never seen bed bugs before but we googled it an am pretty sure that is what we saw. We immediately returned the key. The Manager offered us another room but we figured if one room has bugs most likely all the rooms do. And since they offered us another room they are refusing to give us a refund. We ended up finding a room at the state park lodge.
- Cindy (6/5): Major Repairs Needed - Major repair is need on site. We had to put a blanket on the windows. The window dressing was broke. The handles to turn on the water in the tub broke when I went to turn them on.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - If I were a meth addict I would love this place. Outside looked like walking deadPlace looked unsafe. You had to call a number to get someone to come out to check in. I had 2 dogs and they could only take cash for their fee. That should have been a red flag to leave. We got our key and went to the room. We walked in and immediately booked a hotel 25 mins down the road just so we didn’t have to stay there. Expedia needs to remove this from their website so no one else get duped into staying there. The place reminded me of the bates motel Except with zombies.
- Robert (4/5): - Bathroom tube leaked all the time sounded like water was on wasn't everytime someone used the toilet had to be unclogged
- Kami (4/5): Owners super nice but that’s it! - The owners were absolutely super! Very accommodating and nice but that’s where the good ends. Rooms were horrible! It was supposed to be a non smoking room but reeked of smoke and there were burn marks on the side of the tub. Hair was stuck everyone on the shower walls. The pillows were so flat that even folding them in half still left them flat and there were only two on a king bed. There were zero towels in the room! No trash can in the room anywhere! Obviously hadn’t been cleaned in a while! Slept on top of covers...in our clothes because of how dirty everything was!
- maxgT365EF (2/5): Mr - This is the worst place that I have ever stay at. Everything smells like cat pics.
Had to ask for towels, soap and shampoo.
There was nothing else around.
If you can, keep on going down the road to some place else. It is that bad.
- 524lynne (2/5): Not what it used to be - For $71 a night, I expected it to be a little more than it has been for the last 20 years. However, first they put us in a room someone was already in. Good thing they had a safety lock! Put us in the room next door. No safety lock, no trash can, peanuts on the table-- not an amenity. Used to be $35-40. Then you expect a little slack in the care -- but it was better then! Oh, but you have 15 minutes to change your mind if you want your money back. UGH too late to stay at the other hotel. Last time for us. Shame it's come to this...
- jameshoiriis (10/5): Better than most - I chose to stay because i was working a 1/2 Mile down the road.
After getting into my room I had problem s with the t.v..
I went to the front desk and told them my problem, within MINUTES they had fix the problem and I was thankful.
- jillmelton (2/5): BEWARE!!!!! - arrived for our prepaid stay only to be told they overbooked. No refund and since we were on the Worlds Longest Yard sale NO rooms anywhere. Had to drive 3 hours home late at Night. Probably for the best this place was disgusting on the outside so I am sure they had bed bugs on the inside! Never in all our years been treated so rude at a hotel. Our first clues should have been was 3 other mad couples and bars on the office window where you check in. This place was a crap hole. The uneducated people who were running it were most likely dealing drugs out of the back. Very sketchy people and what a scam they are running.
- laura19852018 (10/5): Best Place to Stay, Had Nice experience - Very nice Motel in low budget. Staffs are very nice. Reception manager behavior was very good, Rooms: Are Small but Big Enough for 2 people Location: Extremely Convenient. Hotel is at decent location, don't expect big rooms here, room service is good although
- N6992QDpaulas (2/5): Will never stay again - Lisa the manager seemed bothered from the beginning of our stay. She was still cleaning rooms when we arrived. I asked if we could get our room jet because we were leaving for the day, she was annoyed that she had to stop cleaning to rooms to check us in to ours. I checked the beds immediately for bed bugs. Looked fine, however as a previous reviewer wrote, our 3 pillows were extremely stained and one was ripped in the end. Gross, even though the pillow case was clean, it is unacceptable when you can buy a new pillow very cheaply. If you stay there, bring your own pillows. Customer service was terrible. My experience is that the manager seemed as if you were putting her out when you needed or wanted to talk to her. We were in town to visit relatives. Next time I will work it out to stay with one of them.
- lisagH9136AU (10/5): Lisa the manager - My staff one I go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable I myself get out there and clean rooms if I wouldn't sleep in the room I sure wouldn't charge and put a guest in there .I do my best for my guests we meet as strangers and leave as friends....I would like to thank my return guests
- Everything_Glows (8/5): Not bad at all! - Other than the person who checked us in (not friendly at all), we found the Springs Motel to be sufficient for our 2 day stay. Lisa and her husband (manager?) were very friendly and helpful. The beds were fine, although, the pillows were small. The shower was hot with decent pressure and I found the coffee pot in the room to be clean. We didn't have any soap or shampoo in the room, but we always have. I suspect the soap was overlooked since they changed our room at the last minute to accommodate our early check in. Microwave and mini fridge were helpful, the room was very clean and everything appeared to be well maintained. There were no bugs and it was a quiet stay.
The only complaint I have, was that the room wasn't dark enough with the blinds in the window alone. I awakened several times through the night, believing it was morning, but after checking the clock each time I discovered it was still hours away.
- madaramapquest (2/5): worst customer service ever - I reserved a room a week in advance, knowing a motel is usually not great accommodations but we were just passing thru during the longest yard sale. I was quoted 50$ over the phone and given our room numbers as a confirmation number and she did not want a cc#. We arrived at 4;30 pm, only to find a much haggard manager walking into the office, with no pleasantries, just "if you have a reservation we are not ready, come back in 2 hours". So, we politely agreed to return. upon our return, she asked me what rate did she quote me, I told her, and she said there was no way she told me that price. I told her I had no reason to lie about it and besides she had made us wait 2 hours to check in. She then went on about how busy they were, with three people cleaning non-stop. (maybe increasing the staff would help) as I stood in the stinky office(cigarette smoke) she made a phone call and then told me there was no way she could give me that price because it is the week of the longest yard sale and I could pay 60$ or go else where. We were tired, and not on the mood to hunt for another place, so we paid that rate. She then told me there were no towels in the rooms and I could go get them from the dryer...as I stood there in disbelief, she said, never mind, I will get someone to bring them to you. Like I said, we were not expecting a great room, but I do believe the beds have been there since 1960, the mattresses were terrible. It all comes down to how the manager treated us, non welcoming, making me out to be untruthful about the rate she quoted me and just terrible customer service. I know everyone has a bad day, but she represents a place of business and a friendly face makes you want to come back!
- tjl3845 (8/5): Fine Choice in Russell Springs - This is a fine little old motel from the "mom and pop" era. The rooms have all been renovated and everything is fresh and clean. The manager is a nice lady and everyone here tries hard. If all older motels in small towns were as well run and kept as this one, they'd be viable options.
- path125 (8/5): Super Friendly Manager - Russell County does not have many motel choices in town. I found the manager of the Springs Motel to be very friendly and dedicated to the customer having a positive experience. When I opened my room door, I was greeted by a very fresh smell. Bedding and bath were very clean and the facility had the modern amenities we have come to expect. The room value is a great value for a comfortable and quiet and clean room.
- Janette518 (10/5): Newly Renovated Motel in Russell Springs - The Springs Motel has made great strides in re-doing their motel rooms - several rooms have new carpet, new heat/air, new flat screen tvs, new bathrooms etc. If you have not stayed there in the last few months, you should give them a try. Low price motel that will nicely surprise you. Some rooms are pet friendly. Non smoking and smoking rooms available. Conveniently located close to shopping and great authentic Kentucky cuisine.
- KenE936 (2/5): Will never stay again - Checked in very late, front desk person is very nice. We stayed in the family suite. When you walk in the room it looks "tidy" but when you start looking around it isn't "tidy". When we pulled down the covers on both beds, there were long hairs all over the beds. When we went in the bathroom, there was a ducky mat in the shower and there was a foul odor. We all needed showers but none of us wanted to chance what might happen if we stepped in that shower. We forgot to bring flip flops but I don't think that would have stopped the germs since the tub backed up. The couch is not pull-out and when my child laid down on it he said he felt itchy so there ended up being 3 of us on one bed.
The pillows were disgusting, the pillow case was clean but all the pillows had big stains on them and no protection other than a pillow case. We didn't use them.....nasty!
We were supposed to stay 2 nights but we checked out early the next morning. We could not get out of there fast enough. At least the front desk woman was very nice and gave us our money back for the 2nd night without question.
