- Ernesto (4/5): Skip this hotel - Hotel was just okay. Would I stay here again probably not. No up keep, not the cleanest of hotels. Sand in our sheets making me believe sheets were not changed. Old used coffee filters in coffee machine with no new coffee to use, room was on 3rd floor no elevators in case you are traveling with people with disabilities. Did have some views. Again was just ok, more like a fancy hostel!
- Juan Carlos (10/5): Perfect spot - From the moment i stepped inside the staff greeted me with open arms. Because I arrived early I stored my bags while I headed out for an early lunch and a drink. The location was great. One corner of the block offered a wine bar, the other corner a brewery, and right next door to that another great restaurant/bar. Two blocks beyond that there was a mini mart two minutes beyond that the laundromat .Made a few stops in the story and it had everything I needed to make my week long stay a bit more comfortable. I was on a side street so hearing any cars or people wasnt any issue. Location was the best. Walking distance from plenty of dining options and sites.

- Damo (8/5): - Property was very good, clean and better than expected. What was not good - The airport to hotel taxi arrangement was messed up. Taxi was sent to Terminal 1 even though my flight details were provided and landed in Terminal 2. Taxi company tried to contact the taxi driver. I tried to contact the taxi driver too but no response. Finally, after an hours wait, the taxi company apologized and asked me to catch an Uber.

- Randall Emerson (6/5): - So this is a budget property. Does what it says on the tin. A/c in room is fine - bed comfy - rooms small - bathroom even smaller. Like most of Casco no lifts to rooms. But for overnight - great location.
- Barry (2/5): - The power went out in the building for hours. The toilet wouldn’t flush, the a/c wouldn’t work and there was no light. I chose to stay at another hotel and they refused to refund me the night stay despite the condition of the property. Expedia was of no help and made promise to help but never came through.

The front desk stated this occurs all the time and all they can do is call the police. They did this many times over 3 days. We liked the first floor room as the bathroom was in the room too. But could not stand the noise. When we came back at end of week we were on 3rd floor. There is no elevator so let’s just say our legs got a workout. Javier was amazing and brought our biggest luggage up for us. The bedroom was nice but the bathroom was accross the hall. Tiny hot bathroom as no air conditioning in it and the shower was strange with a wood slat floor. The maids came up there to get stored linens and were noisy. One maid walked into our room even though a do not disturb sign was on door. I slipped on the floors in kitchen as it was just mopped but no sign put up to let me know. I will say the staff there were incredible. They make up for any shortcomings for sure.

El staff muy amable y siempre dispuesto a ayudar. Tiene la opción de tours gratis (basado en propinas) a pie en la parte del centro, lo cual sirve de mucha ayuda para conocer la zona y la historia. Sin dudas lo recomiendo

- Marlon (6/5): - Magnolia Inn es un Hostal con solo algunas habitaciones individuales con baño privado, pero su línea de servicio es la de un Hostal, si espera un hotel formal con todos los servicios que un hotel provee (Servicio Diario de limpieza, amenidades en la habitación, desayuno, etc) este lugar no es para usted. El personal es agridulce, la mayoría muy atento, pero algunos tienen cualidades limitadas de servicio al cliente. El edificio es hermoso, bien ambientado en general, en una zona muy bien ubicada en el casco viejo detrás de la catedral, No hay ascensor, y las habitaciones individuales están en el 4to piso por lo que debe ir preparado para subir 70 escalones cada vez que entre.

- Michelle (10/5): Perfect spot in the heard of Panama City - Magnolia Inn was the perfect place for us to stay while in Panama City. Centrally located in the heart of Casco Viejo, it is near great restaurants, tours, etc. The hot shower was glorious, especially after coming back from San Blas Islands still sticky from sunblock and sand. We loved having the common areas, especially the kitchen, to keep our leftovers and save some money on meals. I would definitely go back there next time I’m in Panama!

Clean and comfortable!!

- Curtis (2/5): - I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy if you are going to book this hotel make sure you read everything i book the room with the 2 queen bed upon arrival the person at the front desk told me that I would have to leave out of the room and go outside in the hallway to used the bathroom because it is not inside the room never heard of such rubbish i decided to take a smaller room with this no towels or soap i ask the gentleman at the front desk if he could have the cleaners put towels and soap in the bathroom they only gave us two towels for three persons we have to share towels keep asking for more but never got more than two i decided to asked for the room to be cleaned and the cleaner that clean the room stoley pajamas i left it on top of my suitcase and it was gone i turn the room upside down inside out it was nowhere to be found the next thing I have to buy light bulbs to place in the lamp we could not open our blinds due to someone eyes will be making contact with yours and the club beneath the room was unbearable we could not sleep because of the noise from the people at the club my mom stayed up all night because of the noise there's much more to say but I'll just leave it here i know y'all will get the picture if there was zrro that is what I would give them worst place ever

Adrian told me he would be happy to help with my luggage but then he was able to switch some things around so I had a ground floor room. He still helped me with my luggage! - Billy (8/5): They take care of you, even if circumstances off - Plumbing issues meant I was relocated to a nearby room that seemed like a B&B just a few blocks away. Rain fell into the small pool of the B&B building. But the room was fabulous!

- Erin (10/5): - The most incredible part of staying here was the staff. Everyone was so friendly, helpful, and accommodating. I can’t emphasize enough how clear it was that they genuinely wanted us to have a pleasant stay. I also had the chance to experience three different rooms because I was part of a group over multiple days, and each room was clean and comfortable — AC and hot water and comfy beds (and again, the staff proactively noticed our reservations were a little complicated and went above and beyond to help us simplify them). We had easy and safe access to everything we wanted or needed (dining, shopping, sightseeing), and we were able to use the spacious gathering space for group meetings or personal time. I would definitely return here and recommend it to friends and family.

- Heather (8/5): - Great location, convenient, close to restaurants, shops and so easy to get around - adorable boutique hotel - I had a great stay at Magnolia- excellent for the price! Staff is helpful and accommodating and speaks english fluently- They have a hostel too so its great if you need to leave bags and kill time after check out. I stayed in the king suite (up the 4 flights of stairs) but it was fine! the view is beautiful- the room was private and comfortable with A/C and a coffee maker. It has a noise machine which I used since I read a bunch of reviews about noise issues but I had no problems with outside noise.. I am a solo female traveler and felt completely safe in the area. Walkable to everything in Casco Viejo (so many restaurants and stores and the architecture is breathtaking!) I took an uber to the canal one day which was only $7 and everyone is helpful and friendly. Highly recommend taking the free tour of Casco Viejo. I would absolutely stay here again!

- Alison (10/5): Comfortable and well located - We stayed in room 19 on the 2nd floor. It was a good size and very comfortable. The aircon was effective. The hotel has a great kitchen and guests’ lounge where you can prepare your meals if you wish. The location was perfect, close to everything we wanted to see and do. The only downside was having to carry our bags up 2 flights of stairs, but we knew that when we booked.

- james (10/5): - Had a wonderful 4-night stay at the Magnolia. My reservations were made on their website, without any difficulties, and my room was waiting for me. The property is located in the middle of the Caso Veijo area - very similar to the French Qtr. in NOLA. Great restaurants, bars and tourist gift shops are all over. The Panama Canal Museum, French Point and a couple of old churches are all within a very easy walk. All of my dinners were excellent and within a three-block walk from the hotel. I recommend staying here and would do so in the future

- Nazly (6/5): - Terrible neighbourhood. Lots of homeless people were living under and adjacent to the hotel building. I did not feel safe to pass the area. I recommend Expedia to remove this property from their listing. They said the room is located on ground floor but actually was under ground. The last day they applied pesticide on the hallways which was Trimble and could not breathe. Such a relieve when I left the hotel and the area!
- Sarah (8/5): Great location for the price ! - Great location and fairly comfortable. You were right in the middle of Casco Viejo, which is the best location in the area. You can easily reach all the great restaurants and shops. For budget travelers wanting to cook. They have a great kitchen and refrigerator and coffee in the morning with a balcony in the living room. It’s pretty cool. The only downsides we experienced was the girl working the day shift the front desk was very unfriendly. I never saw her smile once, and she would purposely sit there as you rang the bell and not let you in if you did not yet have the code or forgot the code. I watched people approach her with questions and she just was super unprofessional and unwelcoming to everybody. She just didn’t seem like she liked her job job. The evening front desk guy was really great and friendly and welcoming. Please give her some training !in customer service!Our room was had a large queen bed and a great shower, with one of those rain showerheads. The only bummer in the room is that none of the outlets worked except the ones in the bathroom so to charge our phones we had to lean them on the sink. There is no space in the bathroom for setting things down so we used the desk in the room for our toiletries. Also because the outlets were not working they hardlined the reading lights next to the beds into the ceiling so it was all or nothing. The room was super bright and you couldn’t have a reading light on. This area was great though !
- Harriet (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay at Magnolia Inn. The staff at the front desk were really pleasant and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean - nice cold air con too. We liked the opportunity to get a tea or coffee in the shared kitchen though didn’t cook there. The downside was a very noisy street outside our window. Though with ear plugs in it wasn’t too bad.

Easy walking distance to Casco Viejo restaurants and shops. They offer airport pickup service. Only drawback is you have to hike the stairs to get to rooms.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Review of 3 different rooms and intermittent wifi - We booked 3 seperate stays here over the coarse of two weeks. First room, was musty, but alright. Zero internet anywhere in the hotel. Second room, was bad. It smelled like mold and was very dark. No desk, closet, or minifridge like the 1st room had, but had wifi. Third room was the best, no moldy smell, but also no internet connection (there was wifi in the lobby and common areas). Enjoyed having access to the kitchen, which was shared with the hostel half of the hotel. Overall alright, but with the concerns of no wifi or terrible moldy smelling rooms, I would probably book elsewhere next time.
