- Michelle (10/5): Will stay again! - Cute, little quaint motel, right outside of Traverse City. It’s quiet and nice if you want a peaceful environment.
- Yvonne (10/5): - This is a lovely, clean, cozy little option, very close to downtown Elk Rapids. We enjoyed the little fireplace, it was quiet and comfortable.
- Karissa (10/5): - Loved this place! Rooms look recently remodeled, nicely decorated, very clean! Beds were super comfortable! Staff welcoming and helpful!

- Randy (10/5): - Nice place to stay. Clean rooms and very friendly staff
- Steven (4/5): - Nice place. It was convenient getting in and out. I’d like to see our office hours available particularly early in the morning for coffee. And you need to do something about the safety in your showers. Very slippery floor and no type of grab bars. You can buy them for $15-18 on Amazon. They stick on and I’ve been using them for 10 months without any of them coming investment event potentially serious and expensive accident.
- Austin (10/5): - Quiet and cozy little motel we enjoyed our night stay!
- Carrie (8/5): - Peaceful
- Navada (10/5): - Everything was great! The staff was excep
- Ralf (10/5): - Beautiful location, nicely remodeled, can walk to the beach (bring some chairs) great sunset spot! Firepits and wood availabe!

- Bernard (10/5): - Pleasant old school road side motel. Loved the setting among the trees. Limited amenities but good value.
- Mariah (10/5): - Family trip. Loved the location. Outside of the busy city but not too far away. Cozy and small ambiance. Will definitely stay again
- Stacie (10/5): - Verry clean, nicely remodeled, access to lake and close to down town Elk Rapids.
- Sabine (10/5): -
- richard (10/5): Excellent would recommend - Lovely location, bright clean and spacious rooms. Couldn’t find our way to the beach, thought it was just out the back of the property but wasn’t. We could have explored further but didn’t fancy walking down a road with out sidewalks.
- Adam (8/5): Nice motel and good rate. - Older but well kept motel style lodging. Room was clean, front desk person nice and grounds well maintained. Stayed 3 nights over 4 days while in town so had 2 rooms. Only reasons not excellent rating is the older style air conditioning and lack of decent coffee. Please an upgrade to Kuriegs. Americans are spoiled.
The green space is very nice to hang out BTW!
- Charles (6/5): Small, mid-century motel was not what I had pictured based on the photos. - Park-like setting, with good outdoor seating, fire pits, etc. Good location on main highway near town. Room was small, dated and did not look like the photo. The private beach was nearly 1/2 mile away, so the name "Lakeside" was not very descriptive; "Roadside" would have been more accurate.
- Johannes (10/5): Nice stay near the Lake - Comfortable, clean, well located, and quaint Everything was fine. A/C and appliances could be quieter or turned off, as always
- michael (10/5): - Impressive
- susan (10/5): - Clean and quiet
- renee (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay at the hotel! The room was very clean, comfortable and had a homey feel. The location was also convenient, with a beautiful beach just a short walk away.

- Cynthia (10/5): - It is a very nice place to stay. We will definitely be back.
- Janice (5/5): Would not stay there another time! - It was quiet. There was no one there in the office. There was no hair dryer! I had to go to bed with wet hair.
- Greg haywood (7/5): - Nice little room off the beaten path! Could use some updates, could be cleaner!
- Glaze (8/5): Good for a 2 day stay - Close and comfortable Shower needed some help
- Tanya (10/5): - The beach access was amazing. Clean, quiet and friendly.

- Jennifer (10/5): The inn is cozy and relaxed and close to town making it convenient too. - I like the quaintness of the property even though it was on a busy road. It was set back enough to be able to be enjoyed. I love the fire pits that they added. It made meeting people, fun and interesting.
- Judith (10/5): - We liked the location and grounds.
We made dinner on gas BBQ grill.
We built a fire with the wood provided to us.
The bed was comfortable and clean.
The owner was very polite and helpful. Thank you. We had a single queen room. It was a little small in the bathroom. There is no room for the table, as seen in the picture.
- Chad (10/5): Beat Place in the Area! - This is the 4th time I have stated ar Lakeshore Inn! It is my go to place when I venture up to Traverse City area from southwest Ohio area. Fully recommend and will continue to stay here everytime! I honestly do not know if there is a single thing I dislike about this place. The rooms are very clean, comfortable, price is on point and I love the location!
- Fred (10/5): Great quiet place to stay - First time in area so we didn’t know what to expect. Facility was in a shaded park like setting with a fire pit and easy access to a private beach. The room was clean and comfortable.
- Smith (10/5): Exceptional - Easy last minute booking to get away from all the family. Late night key pick up. Worked great. Checkout seemed rushed. Thought it was 12 but they were pushing earlier like 10 am and we got there pretty late at night.
- monica (10/5): - Great location. Staff was very nice and helpful. Very clean
- Jon (10/5): Nostalgia - An older road side hotel that has been updated. Super friendly owners. Lovely small rooms from a bygone era. Perfect for a quiet night on a bicycle trip while a cold front pushed through.
- Susan (10/5): - Our hostess Maddie was very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this traditional "Up-North" family run Inn.
- Kathryn (8/5): - Nice to get away from the main stream type motels.
- Amy (10/5): Nice Clean Motel - A great place to stay. Clean rooms, friendly staff, outdoor firepit. A great pace for our group of 10 to hang out and enjoy time with friends.
- Jana (2/5): Beware - We arrived around 5 PM and I went up to the desk. As the lady was leaving her office for the day. She told me that my key was sitting outside in a mailbox. And I was confused. We did get an email stating that check-in would be from 4 PM to 7 PM and that if we had an issue with that that we could give them a call. While we were within those times and she was leaving and she said well it's a holiday.
So through hotels.com we put on there that there were five people, and they said that there were rollaway beds available.
There were no rollaway beds. Apparently there were a couple and they are a small business and they cannot provide them for every single room. And that I needed to reserve them. Which is not what is stated online.
I basically told her it was unacceptable. There is no way they should've let me put in for five people. I put the ages no way they should let me have five people in there without accommodating five people. And then I was told that when she called the owner that they didn't like my attitude. And they were thinking about just canceling us. Fourth of July weekend.
Because she didn't like the way that I was upset about them, not providing what was stated. I have never been so mortified
I was also told that I could go up to Meijer and purchase an air mattress. and purchase an air mattress. Which is what we did because we did not want our family member sleeping on a floor of a motel.
We had a purchase an air mattress and a pump. Out of our pocket.
- Carol (10/5): - What a great find! Convenient to Traverse Bay & Elk Rapids. Love the 60s vibe! Cozy room, but updated to 2025 amenities. Wonderful fire pit area to unwind at night. Walking distance to beach. We will be back!
- Georgia (10/5): Great stay - Great day for a personal getaway. The setting is beautiful. Clean & comfortable also. Will stay again!
- Stacey (8/5): - Great Location for Torch Lake sand bar and fun things to do in Elk Rapids
- Andrew (10/5): - Neat little 12 room motel outside of Elk Rapids. Had a lovely shaded green area with firepits, grill, and seating. We enjoyed our stay.
- Charlene (10/5): - Lots of new updates outside. Beautiful place. Room was clean and cozy. Would stay again
- Rena (8/5): Very good - It was quiet, clean, and cute. Fire pits outside was great if you had time to sit by a fire under twinkle lights. Not directly next to the beach. You had to walk a block away and cross two streets. Beach was too rocky to swim in.
- George (8/5): Very good - Never met the staff. They called to confirm that we were still coming. Tried to get more coffee (theuly provide 3 kcups and my wife and I had a cup when when got there) but the office didnt open until after check out.
- Keith (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stefanie (8/5): Very good - The rooms are clean, the location is perfect, the rooms are large with a microwave and fridge.
- Joselle (10/5): - We arrived at the Elk Rapids Lakeshore Inn in the evening and it was so quaint. We walked to the beach around dusk, about a block away through the trees and sat on the beach - it was beautiful. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We’d stay here again!
- Ebenizer (9/5): Loved every minute of my stay there. - The owner of the place is super nice and very welcoming. She did a fantastic job with the place. It was our first time up there and she also made sure to tell us where to go and what are some of the main attractions up there. I loved my stay there and will definitely be going back. I feel really bad because we forgot to tip! Pillows
- Jennifer (8/5): - The bed and pillows were great. It is very clean and freshly painted. The common area with fire pits and chairs was near immaculate with plenty of split firewood available. It is a quiet and pretty private little walk to a private beach. You need water shoes to walk out in the bay but it is very clean. Not a lot of shampoo and soap but you can ask for more. There is a number by the microwave you can text if you want anything. There is no vending or ice machine but the little refrigerator works great and is very clean. We enjoyed our stay very much.
- Caroline (6/5): - Requested the receipt several times. Front desk said they were going to email it and still haven’t received it.
- Amina (8/5): - Over all the stay was good! Cute little place! Love that they had a firepit, and bbq grill. The private beach was cute, but due to the amount of rocks at the shore line and in the water we were only able to dip our feet, not swim there, only real issue we had while there, was the toilet( when we first got there we noticed old water damage around the toilet area, no biggie) toilet seemed to still be working fine.On the morning day of check out the toilet just stopped working...walked down to office they were closed called the number on door a few times. No luck! So we just left...but honestly other then the toilet issues everything else was nice! Very peaceful!
- Ronald (8/5): - This is a old school motel that has been renovated. Very comfortable bed. Noisy A/C.
- Patrick (6/5): No hot water. - After running the warm shower for 2 min it turned ice cold and never recouped to hot the next day. There were 4 spiders in the shower with me. The bed was very comfortable. To my wife’s dismay, there wasn’t a hair dryer and no receipt for the stay.
- Robin (10/5): - Great place to stay! Fire pits and bbq to use. Room was small but super cute- we will definitely stay again! Highly recommend
- nancy (10/5): - Beautiful place. Calm quiet nice and clean
- Susanna (8/5): - Nice motel with good scenery and good coffee in the office in the morning if somebody is there. The in room coffee was standard hotel issue. Heat didn't work at first but the desk person reset it and then it was OK. Large outdoor firepit with chairs and I think they had wood. Peaceful and quiet.
- Edgar (6/5): - Pretty poor motel
- Angela (8/5): Very good - Everything was fine. Considering I did not know the area, I assume it was safe. Close enough to downtown. Only downfall was no ice available. did not provide ice.
- Cynthia (8/5): - Quaint- place to BBQ, nice walk to water, cute fire pits, nice chairs outside each room.
- Dave (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nathan (10/5): - Good
- Aurora (9/5): Cute place - Clean and update very kitschy and cute!! Room kinda smelled like mildew. Room smaller than expected but still nice.
- Stacey (10/5): - Really enjoy staying here
- Robert (8/5): Very clean - An older "mom and pop" motel that had been nicely remodeled and was very clean.
- Sylvia (8/5): - It was okay for the price
- Magan (10/5): - We stayed at the Lakeshore in
- J. David (10/5): - Clean, upgraded, well maintained, good service
- rich (10/5): - Worked out great
- Faith (6/5): - This property started out okay until we took a shower and noticed the water would not drain out, then the next night the toilet would not flush and when you tried to flush the sink would gurgle and water would come up out of the shower floor drain.
The layout wasn't the best, but it was workable. They also didn't really have room to put your suitcase or clothing.
- Dave (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (10/5): - Stay was great. We were escaping the ice storm up north so having a hot shower and warm beds were everything.
- Emil K (10/5): First stay for us - We were in one of the remodel rooms. Very nice ,clean ,cozy. The bed was comfortable. Felt like a new mattress. We recommend this place and we will stay there again, any time they have something available 😀👍
- Bridget (10/5): - Nice quite hotel. Staff really friendly
- Kristen (10/5): Cost effective, clean, and cute! - This was such a cute quaint stay! We came up north to ski at Shanty/Schuss and were looking or a cost-effective place to crash for the night and this was the perfect spot! We were warmly greeted by name at 9:30pm when we arrived. The room was clean and comfortable and close to a cute downtown where we could grab coffee and breakfast. We highly recommend staying here!
- Tyler (8/5): - Very good place to stay for cheap if your on a budget
- Braeden (10/5): - very cozy, friendly and caring owner
- Denise M. (10/5): - We liked it very well. Good beds. Quiet and pretty property.
- Clark (2/5): Even though it was very clean, I would not stay again. - It was very convenient and very clean The heat was broken and did not work at all. The front desk told me when I checked in. I walked into an open room (not locked) with a space heater on. I was afraid to leave the heater on all night so it was quite cold. I did not stay a second night and even though I requested a refund it was not granted.
- Christopher (7/5): Good - Super friendly front desk lady Giant ass like 1980 heater/ac super noisy. My room was ok but like half way updated. For $150, I expected more in the off season.
- Harold (7/5): Good -
- Nic (10/5): Exceptional -
- jeffrey (8/5): - Enjoyed the stay.
