mark (8/5): - The room was relatively recently updated (walk-in shower for example), with small but functional, outfitted kitchen and full-size refrig. It was also roomier than typical. All in all, very nice. The complimentary breakfast, while typical, was also good, with multiple hot choices and everything else one would expect. The property also bills itself as pet-friendly, without disclosing until bill time what the fee for this is. It is $75 - not sure whether per day or stay, but I was only there one night, so nothing to amortize over. I think this fee is highway robbery for one night for a 10lb, inconsequential dog, thus one star off.
Sean (8/5): Good property, convenient location, helpful staff - Another good stay at this hotel, it is the second time we have stayed here. The location is very convenient to explore East & Central MA. The staff is friendly and helpful and the facilities are in good shape. The room amenities could be better for the size of the group on the reservation - 3 bath towels, 1 roll of TP, 1 box of tissues, 1 roll of paper towels is not sufficient for a family of four. It would be nice to not have to ask for more 2-3 time during our 6 night stay.

Very filthy and does not meet Hilton standards. Very disappointed that we had to change room at the first entrance. It was evident that the room was not cleaned in a while the bathroom was a hot mess. We went to another room and there we almost drown in dust. To think that it was both our wedding anniversary and birthday and we spent the entire weekend miserable. Sinus and allergies acted up so terribly. There was no paper towels in the kitchen, no dishwashing liquid we texted Angelica, and she was able to give us paper towel but no dishwashing liquid. Unfortunately recommendations to this property would be a no no. I've wasted my hard earned money for a weekend of misery. Very disappointed.

They were supposed to clean every other day but it never happened. I understand it was Xmas so they didn’t clean that day. But they didn’t clean the next day or the day after and then I was leaving.

CONSTANCE (8/5): Pleasant but not impressive. - We are a family of four who stayed for 4 days over the Thanksgiving holiday. The hotel and its staff were inoffensive. The pool was clean and larger than expected. The bathroom was outdated; the toilet sounded like a faucet while it was filling and took forever to do so. The door to the room was significantly smaller than the door frame, so light and noise poured in from the hallway. The couch sofa was SO uncomfortable you could feel the springs and it dipped in the center. The kitchen was clean but scantily equipped, missing a dish sponge of all things. It was helpful to have a Target 4 minutes away, and a liquor store and gas station convenient store within walking distance.

Verified traveler (2/5): No Rooms - Umm to start off there was no rooms available when I checked in. After getting up at 3:30am to catch a flight from MN to Boston and working until 9:00pm. I was unable to check into a room. Sat in the lobby for about an hour to get someone else room. The receptionist was great, just the managers could not provide an answer or solution.

Jennifer (6/5): Good experience, poor service - Hotel was clean and layout was great. Rooms spacious. There was an issue with our reservation and instead of trying to resolve it or provide a solution, Essence was rude and defensive. Actually turned to a colleague and said “I was right wasn’t I?” Bad customer service. Room has an awful odor. There is a garburator in the kitchen and smell seems to come from there. Other than that the rooms were very clean. Location was great!

Beth (8/5): - The biggest problem was lack of light for me. Handicapped people or elderly sometimes have some loss of sight and that makes it hard for them to move around safely. It was also hard to find enough light for reading. The only other thing was we had some spotty room cleaning service and had to go ask for it. Otherwise, I liked the room, especially the bathroom. Plenty of space to unpack. The food was decent and no other complaints.

Jake (10/5): The one to stay at! - Impeccably clean room, warm, welcoming staff and atmosphere felt safe and comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was better than most hotel breakfasts I’ve come across and they were accommodating to my dog, who also enjoy led his stay with us.
