Garth (4/5): When paying top dollar for a lovely experience it’s only right to expect good customer experience too! - Prime location Great food Pleasant surroundings Staff were a matter of fact rather than pleasant Observatory - it seemed that the staff had the air conditioning turn down for themselves rather than caring about the customers who found it cold. A bit of an unpleasant smell definitely needs sorting!

Bryan (6/5): Great facilities but lazy staff - Was very nice hotel The bar was table service only and the staff would rather stay at bar and talk to each other instead of coming to your table to ask wat drinks you would like to drink even after I had walked to the bar and asked if someone could take our drink order after sitting at the table for 23 mins. 10 mins later a member of staff finally took order and brought us drink 23 mins later so we waited at table 1 full hour to get 1 pint of beer and a cocktail and this happened on 3 occasions
U8337NLmartinf (10/5): Absolute best hotel experience - My wife and I had booked the grand central for our wedding reception and we absolutely made the right decision to have it here. We had 18 guests so was an intimate wedding. The staff, specifically Arthur were fantastic. They treat you like you’re a VIP. The food was out of this world but the staff alone made our night they are just fantastic people. We got upgraded to the Sir William Hastings suite but we didn’t realise until checking out that it was the best room in the full hotel. The whole experience from start to finish was just amazing and we can’t wait to go back for a wee overnight. Also the concierge John Mac was the nicest man ever helped us so much with his knowledge etc he was just lovely.

The room had everything we needed ie iron, ironing board, tea/coffee, excellent WiFi and great big TV! The fire alarm going off early morning woke us up, and was only switched off just before we checked out. There was a smell in the bathroom, I believe it may have been coming from the drains.
N3070KIjamesh (4/5): Comfortable Room, Disappointing Service Throughout the Stay - The room itself was comfortable, clean, and well maintained, which is the reason I am not giving an even lower rating. Unfortunately, the service throughout my stay was consistently disappointing. At breakfast on every occasion, I had to ask more than once for coffee, and it regularly arrived so late that I had almost finished eating before it appeared. I also attempted to order room service on two separate evenings after working late, but nobody answered the phone at all. I then decided to try the restaurant instead. Staff were walking around while I stood waiting to be seated and nobody acknowledged me. I eventually had to ask the concierge whether dinner service was still operating. After finally being seated, my order was taken, but after waiting more than 20 minutes not even the drink had arrived, despite the restaurant not being busy. I ended up leaving. To finish the stay, I asked the concierge to arrange a taxi for 4:45am. Despite the booking sheet clearly showing 4:45, the taxi was booked for the wrong time. Luckily I contacted the taxi company myself to check what was happening. Overall, the hotel itself has potential and the rooms were perfectly fine, but the level of service was frustratingly poor throughout my stay.

Y9271AWjohnm (6/5): Disappointing for a 5 star - Disappointing for a five star. Room was a delux double. However we were given a third floor room with no view or rather a view of the air conditioning units and accompanying noise. The room itself was comfortable and the bathroom was lovely. Nice products and robes provided. The lifts require your pass key to select a floor but they seemed completely random in what floor they went to. Breakfast hours are generous but still long queues in the self service restaurant. Food typically average as served in hot trays. Parking is subsidised or valet parking can be requested. The car park is the great northern which is 10 minutes walk. We visited the acclaimed observatory bar for a cocktail. It was busy so seating was limited. Prices are high as to be expected £18 for a tasty cocktail but served in what can only be described as a mug. The waiter was excellent. Helpful and friendly.
paulinerH5828QW (10/5): 5star experience. - Visited to meet with a friend and had a drink in the observatory. Beautiful views over Belfast. The staff were friendly and attentive. Caitlin was welcoming and chatty. I stayed in the hotel the following evening after attending a works related training course held in the Blackstaff conference room. Fresh jugs of water and refreshments were provided throughout the 2 days. The toilet facilities were immaculate. I was checked in by Hannah who had a smiling face and a welcoming professional tone. The bedroom exceeded my expectations and was spotless and well presented. The housekeeping team clearly do a wonderful job. Food in the restaurant was delicious. Michael was the person looking after our table of 12. He was welcoming friendly and attentive. An absolute 5 star experience. Thank you to all the teams.
551arrank (10/5): True hospitality - I had an overnight stay yesterday and everything was seamless from the moment of arrival to check out this morning and the reception manger niall made this interaction so enjoyable. I had dinner and breakfast in the grand cafe and I just wanted to highlight some key team members who truly made my stay special. this morning I was served by a lovely cheerful sever called Eva she’s a real addition to the team. for my dinner last night I was served by a supervisor called Beth and she truly made the whole dinner with her bubbly personality and just to highlight another star within the hotel would be Micheal serving the Most amazing cocktails and giving all the craic at the same time he’s a true addition to the grand central will definitely be back

Explorer09115599933 (6/5): Disappointing - What a Disappointing Hotel for a 5 Star !!! We stayed 1 night as had a concert in SSE Arena . Upon arrival , entry to hotel is gained by pressing a Handicap Entry Button stationed on a pillar at least 3 metres from the front door ( very odd !!! ). Despite having booked and paid extra to park our car at the hotel, there was neither space nor set down area available at the front of hotel . Had to park on double yellow lines to unload overnight case. No parking attendant or concierge seemed to be available so the young man behind reception eventually came to our aid. Reception staff lacked communication skills with barely a friendly hello whilst checking in. Seemed young and rather inexperienced almost as if they received little training and were thrown in to the deep end. That aside, we made our way to our room which was very well appointed and beautifully designed. Bed was very comfortable and we had an excellent view over City Hall and Belfast City. Sadly, our next disappointment was breakfast. Staff seemed rather disinterested. Self service ! Food served from a serving hatch!!! ? Food luke warm and appeared to be sitting for some time!! Orange juice not Freshly Squeezed as recieved in all other similar hotels. Sadly not up to 5 Star level and weve stayed in quite a few. Would we stay again ? Sadly not !

921adet (2/5): 5star prices but not a 5star experience. One to avoid - Avoid this hotel if you value customer service and clear communication. Our stay was already disappointing due to issues within the hotel itself — two of the rooms had faulty lighting meaning we had to shower in the dark and we were unable to get any response from room service despite multiple attempts to contact them. The biggest issue, however, came afterwards when I discovered I had been incorrectly charged an additional £211.50. I raised this immediately and was repeatedly told by Niall that the matter was being investigated. After multiple follow-ups over more than a week, communication was poor, slow, and dismissive. I was then incorrectly told the charge related to a “no show” room, despite the room having been cancelled within the free cancellation period through Booking.com. It was only once Booking.com became involved and intervened directly that the hotel finally apologised and agreed to issue the refund. Had Booking.com not stepped in, I genuinely do not believe this would have been resolved properly. Very disappointing experience overall, both during and after the stay.

sorayar553 (2/5): Definitely not a 5 star - We were excited to stay here, as we love our 5 star luxury. We had just come from the amazing Regency House in Belfast. But what a massive let down the Grand Central was for us. For starters it is no way a 5 star, between the poor service, the decor and the food. Noting was 5 star. It was an average 4 star. The room was so disappointing. It lacked character. There was no coffee machine, which I was in disbelief. Mold in both shower heads. Tiling on the bath had been messed up. There was no biscuit or chocolate. There was supposed to be an Easter Surprise in the room, a cheap egg, for about £2! The dressing gown was stained. The level of cleanliness was very disappointing. It wasn't to a high standard. No attention to detail. For breakfast we had to queue for ages, I have never experienced anything like it. It was completely self service, for a 5 star hello?! Only your drink order was taken. No one wanted to help us with our luggage. For chcek in and out, more waiting. And some staff took a dislike to us and wouldn't serve us. A very upsetting experience all round. Would not recommend

Beds were comfortable and there was little to no noise at night so we had a brilliant sleep. The location is excellent. Bathroom sink was not draining properly although it was not a massive issue. The shower was not the best.
WendyBelfast (10/5): Grand Cafe - Belfast - We called today for lunch at the Grand Central Hotels ground floor restaurant, Grand Cafe. The food was lovely and priced reasonably. We have stayed and dined here before but today we had a lovely young lad serve us and this prompted me to leave this review. His name is George, super friendly, great chat and his customer service was excellent!!! He genuinely looked like he enjoyed his job. Not everyone is cut out to work in a customer facing role but George is and hopefully will go far in his career. Well done George!

Cindy (10/5): Beautiful hotel in great location - The location. The staff were extremely helpful and always lovely. The room was a great size and very clean . We also had a great view over City Hall. Preauthorisation on our credit card was excessive. But it was cleared quickly once we checked out.

Aoife (9/5): Birthday night away - Myself and my Mum had a great night's stay here to celebrate my birthday, from check in to check out everything was just beautiful. Staff so friendly on arrival and our room on floor 22 (sky view room, this was an upgrade) was amazing. Highly recommend the Observatory Bar for a couple of drinks before dinner. It is lovely to sit in and enjoy the view and atmosphere. Breakfast was the best I've had in any hotel I've been to in Belfast. Will definitely be back!!

Cleanliness 10 starts ,amenities in the room were faultless.Really disappointed to leave and go home.
