Guest Reviews
- Kathryn (9/5): Wish I’d found this place sooner! - Location, comfort, excellent communication, value for money. Everything was really clean. Joan is very friendly and helpful. Shower and sink in my room but no loo. That said it was close by and again, spotless. The lighting in the room is a little dim.

- deborah (10/5): Lovely room, very local to town center, excellant communication from Joan, damage deposit back within a few hours of lea - Easy to access, few mins walk to town center Nothing

- Uche (9/5): Excellent stay - The host Joan was very responsive. Very lovely lady, communicates effectively every step of the way. The building is very good, we loved the location. Sharing restroom, but I guess it's not in tge control of the host. More of how the house is structured.
- Amy (10/5): -
- Anna (9/5): Everything was great! We have enjoyed the staying - It was very clean , I was happy with coffee and tea with a kettle in the room!
The location is good, just near the town center! Toilets are in a corridor.
- David (7/5): Spacious room. - Impressively spacious room. Clean. Garden view Noisey fridge, humming of generators, whistling wind. Rm1
Made it a bit difficult to sleep.
- Derek (7/5): No 12 Townhouse - Rooms were clean and comfortable. Unable to alter the temperature of the first shower from cold to warm and unable to alter the temperature of the second shower from boiling hot down to a more reasonable temperature.
- Mark (8/5): -
- Klajdi (2/5): -
- Lucia (9/5): Would go back 100% - Super clean. Great location. Great size room that was comfy clean and warm. Nothing really. Private en suite would be better but shared bathroom was next to room and spotlessly clean with good stock of towels and loo roll
- Cassandra (10/5): - The price, ease of check in and location The rooms had someone's trash in the garbage when we arrived and it was a shared bathroom/shower situation
- Chris (8/5): -

- Pippa (9/5): Safe, comfortable, good value and good customer service. - The beds are really comfortable and the location is quiet and safe. I felt safe in the house as security was good. The facilities were good with plenty of towels/dressing gowns etc. There was a small fridge in the room and basic tea and coffee provisions which were appreciated. It was very clean. However, the inside of the bathroom doors need a bit of a wipe down as there were marks but the actual floor, loo, showers and basins were very clean. It felt calm and safe and although Joan was not present, she was very friendly and helpful online before our visit. The decor could do with a refresh and the door needed a bit of WD40 as it squeaked. Only a problem if one of you is a light sleeper. However, the hotel was very reasonably priced and the owner was responsive and helpful to any issues or questions I had.
- Joseph (9/5): Great stay and exactly what we needed, for the price we would stay again - Brilliant location, very clean and comfortable beds. Decent amount of stairs and narrow, so not great if you have mobility issues.
- Chris (3/5): Poor night sleep because of motion alarm being triggered every 2 minutes - Easy access, nice bed I had the ground floor room at the back of the building where outside of the windows a motion triggered light was set off every 2 minutes from about 2am waking me up and then unnerving me because I thought there was someone outside my room. It turns out it was being triggered by the rain but that didn’t solve the then lack of sleep. Why is the light needed
- Alex (10/5): - Good size room with a comfy bed, great value for money
- Kamara (7/5): Comfortable and practical - Friendly host and clean and organised room, provided everything I needed.
- Trehan (10/5): It was clean and cozy, you'll find everything here from wifi,tv ,a small fridge to a microwave . It's truly amaz - Wonderful and a cozy ambience.
- Hey (10/5): - Joan and the guys there are really helpful. Quiet and warm. N/A
- Michelle (9/5): - The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable 😄😄😄
- Samantha (10/5): Great stay. - Great location, nice and clean. Bed was comfy. Room was huge. Host was very quick to reply to messages and we booked with them just 15mins before arriving at the property. Thanks Nothing
- Tessa (8/5): Great value accommodation close to town and cheap all day parking in car park opposite property - Room was very cosy. Top floor and quiet.
Beds super comfortable and warm.
Very clean everywhere.
- Mcgowan (1/5): - This is not an HOTEL it is low class motel.
Would advise anyone thinking of booking this place to think again. It was that bad I entered the property
Turned round and left.
I should have demanded a Refund.
- Amelia (10/5): - Comfy, easy and close to the town centre and train station and clean. That the bathroom is shared but despite this the property is superb!!
- Hayyan (6/5): Pleasant and affordable - I liked the room and the tv The squeaky beds, blocked sink, cold shower
- Stuart (9/5): - Great location 5 minutes from the town centre in a quiet area
- Alison (8/5): Nice, comfortable stay. - The room and shared bathrooms were very clean
Bed was comfy
There was a shower in the room but I didn't use it due to the broken blinds in the room. The blinds in the bedroom were broken and couldn't be fully closed. I'm assuming it was a motion sensor which kept switching the light on in the back garden and flooding the room with light.
I'd still stay here again though.
- Marek (5/5): - It is pretty well located nearby everything also easy self check in in case you are late Furniture was old but no problem with that we were only not comfortable with cleaness and smell inside the room
- Kateřina (8/5): -
- Sufyan (8/5): -
- George (10/5): -
- Jennifer (9/5): Great place to stay - Lovely old house, well maintained. Exceptionally clean, comfy and not far out of town. Overall we had a great short stay and would happily return for future trips.
Access: codes for door and lockbox for room key - easy to use. Staff contact numbers clearly noted in case of any problems.
Communal areas: Clean and well maintained.
Beds: found the mattress perfect for me, slept well.
Room: Twin at top of the property - many stairs (not suitable if you had mobility issues), sloping roof could have been awkward for a taller person- not criticisms just factors of the style of property.
Decent size, sink, various lighting options, TV, plenty of bedding and pillows. Added extras of desk, chair and small fridge along with usual kettle etc. Well equipped.
Bathroom (shared): very clean, extra towels available. Down 1 floor from the room.
People: Joan the manager very helpful and welcoming. Cleaning staff happy and polite. Would have preferred bathroom on same floor, just because of how many stairs there are.
- Paul (7/5): Great value for money - Short walk to town centre and football stadium Shared bathroom but it was clean
- SAMUEL (8/5): -
- MARK (9/5): Easy check in process and large room with good amenities - clean and very large room with internal shower parking can be a little tricky as near the station - so be careful to not directly outside the property
- sam (10/5): - Having a fan in the room was a life saver.
- Gunnar (9/5): -
- Daisie (9/5): Good location, lovely room, very clean and comfortable. - The room was spacious and clean and easy to find the property. Nothing!
- kirk (8/5): Definitely would stay there again - Quiet close location to the town centre and amenities
Best nights sleep I’ve had for a long time
Joan the woman who was the contact
Was very informative and helpful
- Jill (8/5): Good. I'd stay again. - Location was fabulous. Decent room for our price paid. The show was somewhat temperamental
- Shanmugam (9/5): - More comfy room Could have been attached bathroom
- DAVID (8/5): -
- MICHAEL (10/5): Very Convenient location - Comfy bed. Very Quiet.Pleasant + Helpful staff. Very convenient to town centre and Football ground
- Caroline (10/5): Another great stay - It's always comfortable staying at Townhouse 12. The location is great for visiting Huddersfield's many great restaurants and convenient for the University. Joan is always helpful and accommodating.
- Ben (10/5): -
- Caroline (10/5): Another great stay - A great stay as always. The room was spacious and quiet.
- FEMI (9/5): -
- Spencer (10/5): - Nice and clean, Joan was very helpful
- Elaine (10/5): It was nice and comfy and quiet - Looked lovely
Big and homely The blinds in the room
- Marchant (3/5): Dissapointing - tele would only work off a smart phone which i do not have. Little hot water in bathroom, shower
- Beverley (8/5): Absolute did the job, will go there again. - Great location, room was perfect for our overnighter, the house is lovely and the parking just opposite is very convenient and cheap. Communication with the manager, Joan, was excellent.
- Jamie (9/5): -
- Stephen (7/5): Good value accomodation close to town centre - Close to town centre and good value. Toilet and shower on a different floor!
- Stephen (9/5): - Very comfortable very quiet few enquiries I had were sorted out very quickly no problems at all would definitely stay here again and will be doing in the future
- Deborah (8/5): -
- Carmel (10/5): - It was very close to Huddesfield train station. It was very quite & comfortable. The hostess was very helpful & easy to contact.. The hill up to the property & the bed is sinking on the right hand side, so its a shame as it was lovely otherwise.
- Caroline (10/5): Excellent host and a very comfortable stay - Joan was exceptionally accommodating when I had to change my travel plans and I had another great stay at this property. The room is always large and comfortable. The area is quiet but close to the centre of town and Townhouse No 12 is great value compared to many other places. N/A
- Kate (6/5): A basic, clean room. Reminded me why shared toilets are always a bad idea. - Basic clean bed for the night. Convenient location. No staff at any point during my 2 night stay. No hairdryer, no mirror over the basin. Lighting poor for a large room. Shared toilet was always dirty with piss on the floor and toilet.
- Robert (9/5): - Comfortable room, well located, good contact from host Shower in the morning could have been a bit warmer!
- Tom (8/5): Good value for money, helpful staff, some caveats. - Good location, the carpark opposite is cheap and there are local shops within a stones throw from the property.
The room itself was decent, although having the shower in the room was a little strange at first! My only concern here was that there didn't appear to be any ventilation for moisture from the shower?
The staff were polite and helpful and we had no issues checking in or out. When we did have to ask questions, the hosts were very responsive and friendly :) The room was quite dark and the main light in the room gave off very little light - there was a couple of bedside lamps which did help with this.
The bed did creak a little so that kept my partner awake as they shifted in the night.
Despite signs asking guests to be quiet as they came and went, there were several loud people coming in quite late in the night speaking very loudly / on the phone. As we were on the ground floor, we basically heard everyone that came in which was really annoying.
The property also has motion activated lights which is good from an eco POV, however, they all seem to activate together - so the garden light was going on and off frequently which was a bit frustrating.
- Scott (6/5): - Some issues with communal shower and window in room. However, host was approachable and helpful.
Decent value for money
- Margaret (7/5): Good value for money. - A good location. Joan, the manager, was very responsive and helpful. Shower difficult to control and was usually scalding hot.
- David (7/5): - Good location
Friendly staff
Rooms on first floor close to shower & toilet. Room downstairs quite dark & had to walk all the way down the communal corridor to the toilet which was right next to the front door.
- russell (10/5): - Clean well located and we'll priced, friendly staff Nothing
- Everton (8/5): -
- Jamilah (10/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): Ideal place for a short stay in Huddersfield - Joan was very helpful and provided all information in a timely manner.
The hotel is in a good spot to get into town and parking is very cheap
- Rish (8/5): Very pleasant and good value - Very good value for money. Clean property and Joan was extremely helpful and responsive. Nothing other than shared bathroom but that’s clearly explained in the details of the place.
- Sarah (8/5): -
- Roxana-Ioana (9/5): Amazing staff, very accommodating, big , comfortable, quiet room, good quality of clients, perfect location!! - Unexpectedly friendly staff, very accommodating, concerned about my needs and desires! The place was perfect for my work, quiet, big room, clean bathrooms and plenty of towels!!! Maybe the smell of the cleaning detergent if I really have to find a - . But that is personal 🤣. Thank God it was clean!!
- Shun (9/5): a good sleep after a long drive - spacious and spotlessly clean in Deluxe room with shower and basin, separate toilets and shower outside the room for sharing with other customers. big council carpark just opposite the house within 5 minutes walk. The room is cool as the fan is on and the window is open before you arrived in hot weather, well ready for your stay. only if you don't like sharing toilet with others
- Sylwia (10/5): - The manager is very helpful, and a very nice person.. I'm coming back to Townhouse 12 every year and I can recommend it to everyone who needs a proper rest in the heart of the town. .Very clean rooms and toilets, comfy beds , nice and quiet area. 100% recommended.
- michael (8/5): -
- Andre (7/5): It was fantastic - The room temperature was beautiful The connection on the tv was playing up that’s it everything else was great
- Sara (8/5): -
- Carolyn (9/5): Great Saturday night stay - Really good communication from the owner and easy check in. The bedroom, shower rooms and hallways etc were very clean and smelt fresh. Good quality bedding. There was a fan in the bedroom which was essential in the warm weather and a fridge. The area seemed very quiet and was convenient to walk to John Smith's stadium and the town centre. Good value for money. Would stay again. Top floor room 5 is in the roof and could be a little small for tall people but we managed fine.
- michael (4/5): - Bed was comfy The toilet outside the room. The TV would not connect to the internet. The shower was very difficult to get to the right temperature so i was either cold or being scolded when i took one.
Also some of the workmanship in the room was shocking. Like expanding foam around the window and the silicone up the left hand side of the shower was half complete.
- Paul (8/5): Lovely stay for the one night - Joan was really helpful & friendly Shower facility
- Janette (9/5): Spotless and clean , lovely big rooms - Lovely clean property , great location
Parking just over road
Great for gigs at stadium
Run by lovely friendly people Not a fan of Shared toilet but it wasn’t a big issue
- Lynn (10/5): Great value cute hotel, perfect location - Room was clean and big, great location, perfect! Enjoyed out stay, Joan is lovely and very helpful x
