Breakfast was great. We had amazing pancakes cooked the traditional English way with a choice of fruit. The hosts are lovely to meet and great to talk to. 5 stars. Will come again. Nothing. It was all good.

Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with a huge selection! Honestly it’s hard to think of anything that we didn’t like …. There was a hair inside the shower gel bottle, which was weird. That’s it!

The room upstairs is more comfortable. Compared to the room upstairs, the bathroom downstairs is a bit small and not warm enough

• Benedict (6/5): Comfortable and Quiet, with occasional traffic. One off stay for work. - A kind and friendly, down to earth host, who understood the likely needs of his guests. A comfortable and spacious bedroom (family room with ensuite shower) and a good supply of hot water. Easy parking out the front of the property. Good description and instructions for finding the property for those coming by road. No noise heard from other guests arriving or overnight. The property is tucked away. I suspect this is part of the appeal and there are various different activities and nature/outdoor interests that can be accessed in the local area, if visiting for leisure purposes. Unfortunately I did not experience breakfast, due to a mix-up with the host timing, although this had been agreed at the time of check-in. The hosts were extremely apologetic about this and offered a refund on my stay. If sleeping at the front of the house, you do experience some noise from passing traffic. The rooms are double glazed so this is limited by that fact, but it does not stop cars with noisy exhausts from disturbing you towards the latter end of the evening, especially on sunny days when the weather has been good. The property is tucked away. I suspect this is part of the appeal, but it proved a little too far away for my convenience re work trip.

• Kamani (4/5): Not impressed - Neat and tidy No hot water in the shower on the second day. When we queried it Rob said “oh we did some washing”….. not sure what that was supposed to mean. But my toddler, husband and I had a cold shower! Room 6 was tired, sheets didn’t fit the bed properly. Noise from the road all day long, something to note if they give you a road facing room. Breakfast - cook unfamiliar with what a poached egg is supposed to look like. Greasy toast.

Plenty of parking and very easy to check in (just send a message on here or contact the property directly to advise of your arrival time.) The breakfast was really great and there is lots of options for all diets. Room was spacious and clean, bed was really comfortable. There is also a fridge under the stairs for guests to use which is very thoughtful. Plenty of parking right outside. There’s a few restaurants and a supermarket a short walk away (10-15 minutes) Highly recommend Walcot House.

• Ligia (10/5): Exceptional - The room was clean and comfortable, with all the amenities I needed. Rob, the host, was very friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. The location was convenient, especially if you want to explore the New Forest or Calshot Beach. If you are a light sleeper, ask for a room in the back.

When i got there sign outside said B&B, checked in, asked what time evening meals served he replied " we have never done half board etc". Looks likes hotels.com may have mislead me and charged for a service a didnt get .

Car park was free and right outside. Very friendly, left our luggage downstairs as we didn't want to carry them upstairs and they were looked after.

Room needed a bit more of a clean (cobwebs on the broken light shade and carpet had bits on). Bedding wasn’t great - fitted sheets didn’t fit the bed properly as were too loose and came off in the night.

Rob was very friendly and helpful and the room was exactly what I needed. Clean and comfortable with all the amenities required. Quiet at night and handy parking right outside. Breakfast has excellent with lots of options and good quality food. Will definitely return if I am working in the area again. Nothing!

• Charlotte (6/5): Pleasant - Very homely. Owners went out of their way to help us with storing our bikes and early breakfast. Clean bathroom and comfy beds. Quite noisy. Being so close to the road and summer, the road noise kept us awake. Also heard every door in the house opening late and early hours. I guess this is down to guests not the accommodation. Overall, our stay was pleasant enough.
