• AMY (10/5): Wonderful stay! - The Claiborne is a charming getaway. Beautiful clean rooms with carefully curated art and antiques that enhance and warm the beautiful architecture. The hostess is warm and friendly and the hearty breakfast was delicious. We will definitely stay there again when in the area. Charming town with an historic downtown with interesting restaurants and a wonderful music venue, The Harvester.
• Elizabeth (10/5): - My husband and I stayed here when we attended a concert at the Harvester music venue. It was a great location as it was walking distance to the venue. Robin was welcoming and helpful.

Robin was an amazing host - she truly went above and beyond to make our stay 5 stars (I would give more if I could) the communication, the attentiveness and the food/drinks were so good! We went to a show at the Harvester Performance Center and loved the entire town - we can’t wait to visit Rocky Mount again and will be sure to stay at The Claiborne! It was darling!
• Michelle G (10/5): Second stay - My husband and I stayed at the Claiborne last December and we liked it so much we decided to take another little romantic vacation here this year. Robin, the owner, could not be nicer. She always makes us feel right at home, and her breakfasts are amazing (especially the French Toast and Sausage Casseroles :) ). We absolutely love Anatasia's down the hill and the Farmer's Market. We will definitely be staying here again next December.
• Faye (10/5): - Wow! Can’t say enough good things about this place. So quaint and comfortable, the entire house is filled with antiques that were so interesting! The bedrooms are spacious and comfy. The breakfast was phenomenal Sausage casserole, French toast, eggs anyway you like… the innkeeper was so kind and took care of every last detail.. honestly can’t wait for a return visit! Oh and her puppy Rocky was just icing on the cake
• Tucker (10/5): - This is a lovely B and B! We have a dog and she placed us in a beautiful separate space that was cozy and had a seating area. The B and B had a huge wrap around porch that we sat on. One of the places we have ever stayed!

The owner is gracious and welcoming, the house is beautifully decorated with antiques and the breakfast is delicious! There are several dining options within walking distance. The setting is lovely, quiet and relaxing. I highly recommend the Claiborne House.

• Neil (10/5): - We came to Rocky Mount for a concert at the Harvester theater, and had an excellent time! Our stay at the Claiborne was wonderful. We stayed in the Bluebird room, a second-story corner room with a comfortable king size bed, and private bath. Even though the house was full, things were quiet. Breakfast, each of the two mornings was excellent, French toast casserole, and egg and sausage quiche with fresh orange juice, and coffee along with any flavored syrup, like vanilla or hazelnut. And Robin, the innkeeper, was a delight, and provided everything we needed. We hope to come back and stay there again!

The Harvester music venue and Farmer's Market are, both, within walking distance. Just spending a weekend in this delightful small town with all its gathering spots and unique shops is worth the trip especially if your stay includes the Claiborne House.

Breakfast was made to order and delicious. Our hostess Amy was friendly and accommodating. And we could walk to everything we wanted to do, including a music venue (Harvester), distillery, brewery, and awesome restaurant (Anastasia's). We enjoyed it all and are hoping to come back soon!!

A big country breakfast was a delicious way to start the morning. As we toured the property, all the rooms were beautifully appointed. Amy communicated with us via text on the day of our arrival to make sure that she was there to greet us, even though we were late arriving. The room was cute and well appointed. We were pleasantly surprised to see the king sized bed in the cottage room (had been expecting a queen) and it was very comfortable. The best thing about the whole experience was the breakfast though. It was amazingly delicious and filling (eggs, sausage, fruit, homemade biscuit with homemade strawberry jam, and then honeybun cake!!) I was truly “fat and happy” after my stay and would love to return to stay at the Claiborne House again.
• Verified traveler (8/5): - It was beautiful. My room was beautifully made. The house is decorated nicely. The breakfast was delicious and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Just a few things. The glasses to drink water from in my room were dirty. I had to wash them. The bathroom mirror was dirty. There was no salt on the table in the lemon shaker only pepper. While there were no other guests, the other bedrooms were open to public view and one can look inside and see the bedroom in disarray which takes away from the beauty of the house. I highly recommend to at least close the doors to those rooms if they are not going to be cleaned or worked on so that it doesn't give the impression that the house looks messy. Otherwise, the staff was wonderful and everything else was good. I would give a 4 out 5!

• Matthew J. (10/5): Great to unwind - This location is great to explore all the region has to offer. We had planned on boating at Smith Mtn Lake but the weather decided we should tour some wineries instead. Was not disappointed! The breakfasts at the B&B are great. The grounds are nice to just sit and relax. Don’t expect much communication ahead of time because VBRO does not give out your email to the owner. There is ample parking behind the building on High street.
• Virginia (10/5): - Loved the peaceful, beautifully landscaped grounds. The cottage was the perfect location for us, especially because we had our dog with us. Matt and Amy were the most welcoming hosts, and Amy’s breakfast was so delicious! We’re stopping back there on our return trip.
• Terri (10/5): Perfect weekend getaway! - Oh my goodness, this was such a delightful place to stay! We were in the cottage for 2 days and it was clean, cute and cozy. We brought our little dog and she was just as happy as we were. We didn't hang around much but the breakfast was soooooo good! We would have never known there was any impact from Covid. Everything was so clean and tidy. My husband, who doesn't say much, commented on how much he liked the cottage.

The host was very nice, and the breakfast was amazing. We are vegan and she provided us with plenty of options. Evan had Almond milk,vegan butter,and Jam made with pectin. One of the nicest places we have ever stayed.
