Guest Reviews
- Avry (10/5): - The cottage is very quaint and neat!! The welcome guide left by the owners was very detailed and gave us information on local shops/eats/things to see and do. The kitchen was very functional, and the living room/dining was perfect! Beds were very comfortable and spacious, as was the bathroom! The surrounding village was lovely and the pub was a 10second walk down the road! We really enjoyed our stay!
- Darren (10/5): - The first time we have stayed here, the cottage was so lovely, warm homely and clean. We only had to walk around the corner to The Blue Bell Inn and had a wonderful meal. The village is a hidden gem, we chatted to some of the people in the village and they were so friendly. They had a Street Fayre today, which is what they do every year on the second Sunday of June, unfortunately we had commitments, we had to leave early, however we do plan to book the cottage for next year and stay longer. We definitely recommend.
- Donald (10/5): - Very comfortable cottage in a quiet village close to York and surrounding countryside. Had everything we needed for our short break. Would highly recommend it.
- Virginia (8/5): - The property is quaint and easily accessible. Kitchen was modern as was the bathroom. Bedrooms were large and provided aqequate space for 1 adult and a teenager. Very clean and tidy. Information provided in the cottage was excellent and based on the owners recommendation we visited the local pub and had an excellent meal and used public transport during our stay which again was excellent. Lovely location.
I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with mobility issues as stairs were steep, although lots of hand rails provided.
Could do with more heating as some of the radiators weren't giving out much heat, especially in the children's bedroom and lounge. Despite there being a real fire no fuel or lighting apparatus were provided which was a real shame as pictures of the property showed a real fire burning. Personally I think this should be provided. The children's bedroom was especially cold which wasn't an issue for me, but I imagine it would be for young children trying to sleep there in the colder months.
- Helen (10/5): Would recommend - Lovely quiet remote quaint cottage stay
- Jonathan (10/5): Pleasantly surprised. - Clean, comfortable, warm and very well laid out.
We would definitely use it again when staying in that area.
