- DaveCTS (10/5): Fabulous!! - Fabulous location for Oulton Park circuit (I was racing there at the US Autoshow). The owners are lovely people, brilliant with our daughters! Gave them games to play (and joined in with the fun!), very friendly and nothing was too much trouble! We will definitely be staying again!!
- stephen (10/5): Lovely location - The room was so clean and comfortable will definitely recommend it Everything
- Julie (10/5): A warm welcome and a comfortable stay - Wonderful hosts who treated us like visiting friends and who were exceptionally patient with the children. Conveniently located close to Oulton Park race circuit, the inn is situated in a very pretty village. The Red Lion has retained its charm as it's been updated over the many years it has served as an inn, which is something so often lost during modernisation. I travelled with family and we all agreed we would stay again.
- Amanda (9/5): Good value for money with exceptional hosts - Location was perfect - really close to Oulton Park Circuit. Hosts were really friendly and accommodating. Food was amazing and there was no trouble with providing a table on a Friday night although we hadn't booked. Breakfast wasn't included in the room rate, but was available at a really reasonable rate. The ensuite could do with updating, although was functional and clean. The beds weren't very comfortable for those of us whose bones are a little stiff these days!
- Justin (9/5): Lovely - Great breakfast, fluffy towels and only a 2 min drive to Oulton Park. Synthetic duvet
- Margaret (10/5): Would stay again - Location to OULTON Park Main meal at night was not good
- Paul (1/5): Non starter - Honesty... the owner. Too much to detail here but lets just say, never in my life have i experienced such horrific hospitality
- Craig (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stuart (10/5): Comfortable village pub, would stay again - Excellent food, lovely staff Nothing
- Joanne (10/5): Great hosts, great facilities, great food. - Andrew and Catherine are lovely hosts. They made me so feel very welcome. Beautiful, cosy pub in the countryside. Great food too. Will definitely stay there on every business trip to Winsford for sure. That I only was there for 1 night.
- Simon (10/5): Great location and authentic village pub. Warm welcome from staff and customers alike. - Fantastic proximity to Oulton Park circuit. Genuine village pub ambience. Great selection of ales. Good menu. Nothing really stands out as a negative.
- Adam (10/5): Perfect little place to stay - The staff were amazing, really helpful and verfy firendly. They couldn't do enough for us. The pub / hotel is an quiet little village which was nice, and it was really close to Oulton Park Circuit.
- Nicola (10/5): Hidden Gem! - What a hidden gem!! Stayed her Saturday evening with my sister after we were in the area all weekend at an event. Upon arrival we had the friendliest welcome from the hosts and bar staff. The room was beautifully decorated and in room facilities were fabulous. Spotless clean also. Fridge in corridor with chilled water and juices... and cereal available with milk also in the fridge if you wanted a quick breakfast before you left.
We had a lovely evening meal and breakfast was delicious too.
We have booked again to the same event next year and absolutely will be booking to stay here again that weekend.
Perfect stay perfect hosts! Thank you so so much. Nothing the place is fabulous... wish I lived closer this would be my local!!

They know their clientele so there are options to get breakfast to take away, or a small selection to grab and go in a fridge upstairs if you need to leave earlier than when breakfast begins.

Clean and comfy rooms and the BEST breakfast! - The owners Andrew and Catherine made us feel welcome from the start and gave us great tips for walks and places to explore around Cheshire. The pub was lovely and in a great location. The room and beds were super comfy and clean. A full English breakfast is a treat for us and the breakfast here was amazing. And they also provided a fridge full of complimentary water, juice and snacks which was a thoughtful touch. We had a wonderful time at the Red Lion and would highly recommend it! Thank you!

The room and bathroom were really clean. And we loved all the little touches. Especially the fridge in the hallway with cold drinks.
- Dulcie (1/5): Awful - I called at 830 pm to say I would be arriving later as we had just finished showjumping , and I needed to finish the ponies and take the kids for dinner , I said I would arrive around 10 30 pm and my phone batt was low , the gentleman said this was fine it is a pub and still open . We arrived to find the place in darkness my phone had died so I never had his mobile number , we banged on every door and window and rang the bell . I even knocked on a neighbours door and she kindly let me charge my phone for me to call his mobile number , he never answered I left him 20 missed calls through the 1 hour we waited plus messages I had 2 young children with me that was exhausted . had paid £150 for this room for 1 night it was shocking behaviour I had to drive around for 1 hour to find another hotel thankfully we found one . Iv never had an apology or a call back . Such bad service
