- GIBSON (9/5): The location is perfect for restaurants, access to the town, bus station and good parking. - The room had a large double bed which was very comfortable with quality bed linen. The bathroom was sparkling clean and well equipped. We liked the location of the room on the ground floor wirh easy access to the many outside seating areas. Breakfast was excellent with a very good choice of food, both Continental, full English and other hot items. Very well stocked bar and comfortable seating areas. Would thoroughly recommend staying at The four Pennies.

Bed was not particularly comfortable. Shelf too small in the bathroom to put anything on. It was quite noisy. Seemed to have a humming sound a lot of the time and sounded like a washing machine on during the night.

- Annette (9/5): Perfect for race goers - Our room was lovely, large, nicely decorated and bright and airy. The bathroom was spotless and the addition of toiletries and tea/coffee facilities was great too. Breakfast was well planned choosing your time slot when you check in. The service was good however we were unsure if we could have cereal etc as nothing was said or advertised so we just ordered coffee and waited for our full English which was totally worth the wait. Piping hot and a great hearty breakfast. Having the option to park at the sports centre was great, only a 5 minute walk away and the location for our day at the races was perfect, 5 minute stroll away. Bed was we thinking a small double? Very comfortable though. Shower wasn’t easy to wash my hair as head was in the corner but neither spoilt an excellent stay

The manager was present, we had lovely conversations and made our stay very pleasant. We are highly recommending this place. Easy to locate, free parking within short walking distance (I will add a picture with the gate for the parking location). Also only 20 minutes walk to the castle. N/A

Gorgeous bathroom and all basic needs met for example nice big bed, tv, coffee machine and shower. Pub had a great vibe, we had an evening drink after dinner and the breakfast was good to perfection (runny yolk) and filled us up for the way home. Overall a good stay over, would stay again! The door open at the bottom of the stairs all the time allowed a breeze through to the rooms, although you could control the heating so wasn't too bad.

- samhill2023 (10/5): Fabulous - We'll Be Back - Travelling back to North Lancashire from Heathrow Airport, my wife had just come off a flight from New Zealand. Got to Warwick Services on the M40 and realised we were too tired to make it home. Googled local hotels, liked the look of the Four Penny Shop. Booked over the phone, we were there in 15 minutes. For the price we were surprised to find much more then we expected... Everything was great, had an evening meal and breakfast, both very good. Lots of nice touches, coffee, tea, fresh milk (more if needed), toiletries... the en suite looked brand new. The staff all just lovely and very helpful, could not have done more... so thank you to them for a great stay. We like to stay in one off places rather than chain hotels, you never know what gems you may find... we certainly found one. Left in the morning refreshed and headed North... sure we will return...

She was lovely and friendly . Lady who checked us in and out and served us breakfast was a little cold . She didn't smile much . Polite but not warm . We would definitely stay again TV could be a bit better . A bit small and the channels kept pixelating. The street was not the best . Some of the properties opposite were run down with broken windows But we did not encounter any issues.

- EJGastro (10/5): A Must if You Want to Stay in Warwick - My husband and I stayed here for one night with breakfast early in March. We were in Warwick for a business reunion. We were warmly welcomed on our arrival and were directed to & parked our car at Warwick racecourse, which is a short walk from the hotel. We enjoyed drinks (excellent real ales) in the bar with friends before departing for our reunion event. My husband and I stayed in a very comfortable, quiet and spacious room, overlooking the garden. We also both enjoyed delicious small English breakfasts the next morning. When we next return to Warwick, we will definitely return to The Old Fourpenny Shop Hotel.
- 173gemmav (10/5): Highly recommend! - This was a last minute booking as needed to be walking distance to Market Street & the castle. They only had 1 room left and really glad we got booked in! Parking was conveniently provided at the racecourse opposite. We stayed in room 8. The room was lovely, spacious, clean. Lovely little touches like a hot drinks station with a good biscuit selection :) For a room above a pub/restaurant, it was super quiet in the room. On arrival we had a drink in the garden terrace area which was so lovely. We had dinner & breakfast there and both meals were just perfect 🫶🏻 Every staff member was friendly, helpful and attentive. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place and will def be back!

The staff were willing to customise the meals to meet dietary requirements Only the bed to sit on in the room, and the bed was a bit small compared to our home. Shower was ok but you had to move around to get 100% wet

Breakfast was very tasty, lots of choice and nice and hot. The host was very friendly. It could have just been me but I couldn't turn the heat down on the shower so it was a little too hot for me.

Excellent breakfast. It would have been nice to have a bigger double bed as there was plenty of space in the room. A handle to get in and out of the shower bath as the bath had a quite high panel.

- Nicola (10/5): Would definitely stay again. - Good value for money, clean comfortable bedroom and breakfast had a lot of choice and was tasty. The only slight negative was parking was a short walk away, they normally use the race course but as racing was on the next day had to park further away.
