- JOHN (10/5): - Deb and Bob were the best! Breakfasts were so delicious and sumptuous that we didn’t feel hungry all day. They were made to order, and preceded by a “wake up” pre-breakfast of fresh fruit, coffee and juice.
- Keith (10/5): - Had a great time staying at the Tavares Inn in Alamogordo. It is the only Bed & Breakfast in town & is located in a quiet residential neighborhood. The property itself is large with farm animals, and vegetation. The building is of Spanish Colonial style & is sprawling and beautiful. There is an indoor heated pool, an open bar with a donation box, and a pool table. It’s really a beautiful place. A huge breakfast is included & there are also snacks offered by the bar. Babs the owner/operator is Firecracker lol. I enjoyed chatting with her & highly recommend staying here.

- douglas (10/5): Excellent Bed n Breakfast - The owners were awesome hosts. Beautiful home in nice area. The breakfast was a large home cooked meal which was perfect. Snacks and drinks were offered as well. Highly recommended versus staying at a hotel in this town.

They excel in providing a great breakfast, as well as morning coffee service with a wake-up knock on your door, and then snacks and a full self-service bar available 24/7. These things out-weighed the too soft, too old mattress and small bedroom. If that is important to you, you might need to try another place. We enjoy being in unique places, away from the standard hotel room. The owners are helpful, friendly and capable. The bedroom was small, but there is plenty of other space to hang out. The indoor pool was not heated during our December stay.
- Anna (8/5): A home away from home - We wanted something a little different than just a hotel room for our stay and The Traveres Inn was exactly that. It's a small B&B located off the beaten path with all the feels of home. Deb was a great host from the initial greeting to the home cooked breakfast, it was overall great experience experience.They have cats, dogs, goats , and chickens onsite along with an open bar for self service. What more can you ask for!!

Very friendly, great breakfast, pool table, drinks available by donation. Fruit and coffee delivered by the hostess, Debs, to your bedroom door in the morning. Friendly and happy rescued dogs greet you at the door. Rescued cats available for petting by cat lovers. A funny talking parrot on the veranda, goats in the yard. Toboggans available for free if you want to sled in the White Sands National Park (spoiler: sand is not as fast as packed snow). A short drive from a touristy strip with restaurants. Overall, a great place to experience rural New Mexico and its genuine hospitality. Highly recommended!

The owners were very kind and spoiled us with a delicious breakfast and fresh fruit and tea delivered to our room. I wish we had more time to stay there as we would have enjoyed a swim. The pets were super friendly too.

Even the neighbors at the address given did not know anything about the place; we had to spend the night at another motel. It was very inconvenient communicating with our European cell phones and phone numbers, and at the top of all that, we have lost the money for one night not spent—what a bummer (or much worse)!

The Inn itself was very inviting including a indoor pool and gym. The breakfast was beyond delicious including fresh eggs from their chickens. The Parrott and cats and dogs added to the charm. Looking forward to returning each year when visiting White Sands National Park.
- Richard (10/5): Hidden gem with great hospitality - Excellent accommodations and very personal service (this is far more a B&B than an Inn, at least as far as I think of each) -- fantastic breakfast, quiet location, very personable hosts and a clean and comfortable stay at a very reasonable price. Would definitely recommend for those visiting White Sands -- beats a chain hotel any day.
- Janet (10/5): In-home B&B - This is an in-home B&B. A large home set up well for hosting guests in 3 spare rooms. Very clean. The hosts were lovely people and the breakfast was enormous and fresh. They have a menagerie of pets, so if your sensitive, this might not be the place for you. Also be aware that it’s off the beaten path, so if you arrive after dark, like we did, it’s hard to find. No sign.

If you are pet lover, you will meet lovely ad friendly dogs, cats, parrot and more. Alamogordo is always our first place to visit and now we have the place where we want to stay with no doubt.

Debbie has thought of everything a weary traveler could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Pet friendly doesn’t begin to describe Debbie and Bob as they welcome guests with pets to join their large menagerie of rescued animals. My husband and I would not hesitate to recommend Tavares Inn to anyone.

It is also very close to White Sands and but 10 minutes away from the one really good restaurant. This is a hidden gem and not to be missed!

- Alan (8/5): Diamond in the Sand - My overnight stay was excellent. The location is a bit tricky, however, once there you feel at home. The owner could not have been more friendly and her breakfast was outstanding. They have a large property with dogs who are friendly.
- Gary (10/5): - Deb is an amazing, warm hearted, and social hostess with a true desire to provide guests with the best service one can offer. We were provided with room service at our requested time, that included delicious coffee, cold refreshing orange juice, and a scrumptious fruit parfait. Then at our requested time were made an amazing home-cooked breakfast which included our choice which was bacon, eggs, potatoes, English muffin, and assorted drinks to include more coffee. The indoor swimming pool was cleaned to perfection, warmed to a level that was relaxing and semi private. The open bar is a fully stocked and you pay the “honesty box” when done. The house is filled with treats, to include potato chips, beef jerky, and peanuts. You will never go hungry or thirsty in the house. It is an amazing bed-and-breakfast, one that I will return to when in the area. They have free ranging pets in and around the house. We had one dog that stayed with us the entire weekend, and he is already missed. There are friendly cats, dogs (3), and a parrot that crave attention and love. I can’t say enough how pleased and surprised at what this bed-and-breakfast provided. They’ve been in business 20 years, and it shows. Best place I’ve ever stayed.

Lots of amenities such as heated, indoor pool, billiard table. Also, lots of snacks, drink selections and more. Our 1 night stay was very enjoyable.
- Hank (10/5): Wonderful stay - This is B&B inn and Debbie is super host with 5 acres of land that you can enjoy your leisure time to see her farm on the backyard. Breakfast is the highlight of the stay. It comes with coffee, juice and big plate of southwestren hearty meal. Highly recommend to stay there if you come to this area.

- Michael (10/5): Perfect for a romantic get-away - This was my second stay at the Tavares Inn. We live in Albuquerque and were seeking a mid-week romantic get-away. When I saw the inn had a room available, my choice was a no-brainer. The Inn is classic B&B (as opposed to Air B&B) with great (but unobtrusive) service and a hearty breakfast. The hosts are great and even let us know about the lunar eclipse early the next morning. The eclipse picture is from the front yard. Oh, and they loaned us the sled I'm riding in the other photo.

Tastefully decorated throughout, but our room (Santa Fe) was exceptional, with matching furniture with inlaid wood. Host Debbie was friendly and accommodating; breakfast was over the top. Attached photos are of indoor pool and dining/rec area including open bar.

It made our stop in Alamogordo extra special. Bob & Debbie are amazing hosts and the type of people you want as your neighbor. The pets were an extra special treat for us. We loved our time there and hope to stay again if and when we get the chance to return to the area.

Deb and Robert are gracious hosts and their home, a well appointed and Old World charm hacienda style villa, was a great romantic great away. The villa and rooms are pet friendly and the heated indoor pool is awesome. Deb spoils you with an Eye Opener aka fruit, juice, and coffee pre breakfast plus her Breakfasts are what we say in the West is the best compliment, "she feeds well". Beautiful grounds to view the spectacular sunsets and sunrises over the Alamogordo mountain escarpment. We really enjoyed the Spanish fireplace room for a night cap. Each of the well appointed rooms has amazing artwork from Spain. This is our favorite Bed and Breakfast in New Mexico! Great place to stay for day trips to White Sands National Monument, Oliver Lee State Park, BLM Three Rivers Petroglyph Site, and the mountain hikes and shopping of Ruidoso and Cloudcroft. Best place to stay in Alamogordo NM par none!

Be hungry when you wake up because there is too much food. We will stay here again if we are in the area.
