Guest Reviews
- Edwin (10/5): - Perfect getaway cottage
- Jonathan (10/5): Wonderful romantic stay in the country - Thank you both for an amazing stay. We really loved this cottage. The setting is amazing. Waking up to see sunrise and watching the kangaroos hop by in the field. The cottage was great and well kitted out and clean. If we are ever this way again we will be back.
Thanks. Jon and Penny
- Michele (10/5): - Lovely property thank you
- Dominic (10/5): - Very peaceful area and very comfortable cottage with good amenities.
- Marian (8/5): - Great place, really worth visiting!
- Ulrike (10/5): Wonderful - I can only say that our eight night stay was wonderful. The apartment Sunset was beautifully appointed and had everything that we needed. We were welcomed with fresh eggs and some chocolates. We were in easy driving distance of some lovely towns and even made it to the Morphettville races. Our last day was simply spent in the apartment and the backyard. Beautiful and relaxing. Altogether a gem!
- Cheryl (10/5): - Pretty setting and very quiet. The cottage had everything we needed and more. Highly recommend it.
- Andrew (10/5): - The most unique part was the seeing the sun rise through the window, framed by the branches in the trees. The peace and quiet of the location and the simplicity of just cabin and nature was wonderful. Communication to us was great, and the facility and preparations were spot on.
- Hannah (10/5): - We had a fantastic, comfortable, cosy girl’s weekend here. Lovely provisions and decor. we especially appreciated the very special embroidery around the house, big bath, spacious living area and spacious outdoor area. Great location from which to explore the Barossa- highly recommend Maggie Beer’s Farm and Seppledfield.
- Don (10/5): - Unique stone cottage, well built with quality materials. Very comfortable, clean, well appointed kitchen, quality amenities. Thoughtfully supplied with good linens, great barbecue and deck with table and chairs watching the Roos at dusk. Nice to have the small stereo with a few music CDs.
Owners respected our privacy. A great stay.
- Kendra (10/5): - Nice and quiet place to stay, lovely area and a beautifully presented house.
- Travis (10/5): - The perfect place for couples to base themselves for a Barossa adventure!. The place is immaculate and beautiful. They really go the extra mile to take care of the little things.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A perfect and cosy getaway for my husband and I on our “baby moon”. Private, spacious, warm and clean, updated and modern amenities but still maintaining the rustic old cottage charm in its decor. Hosts Renate and John were very friendly and welcoming and even left us with delicious fresh baked bread for breakfast.
Close to lots of local attractions and wineries, but we were more than happy to sit on the deck and just enjoy the serenity. Highly recommend and would definitely come back here again.
- Harald (10/5): dream cottages - We spent only 2 nights at the cottages and wish we had stayed longer. The Cottage was fantastic with old world charm but all modern conveniences.
The location was ideal for us , close enough to visit the area but a nice quiet spot to rest and relax.
- Julee (10/5): Comfortable & well-appointed cottage - Every effort has been made by the hosts to effectively respond to a traveller's needs: comfortable beds, hot showers, large fluffy towels, fresh milk & a chilled bottle of wine in the fridge and good coffee & an easy to use coffee machine
Overall a fabulous few days spent in a supremely clean, comfortable & well-appointed cottage.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Magnificent property. Truly beautiful, surrounded by nature, peace and tranquility. I must fir anyone who needs to get away.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Enjoyed our Stay, quiet location, very peaceful. Very Clean, enjoyed the wood fire. Kitchen and Bathroom is modern and very nice well equiped. Bedroom and Dining/ Lounge is old furniture. Lounge uncomfortable for sitting for long periods of time. Would also be good to have a selection of DVD's
.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Comfortable and peaceful with considerate hosts spotlessly clean and well maintained
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I loved the location of the property, it was very peaceful and it was great to see the kangaroos so close to the cottage. Dawn cottage was smaller than expected and could more accurately be described as a ‘one room cottage’ rather than a one bedroom cottage. There was also no bottle of wine provided so I feel that the new owners should properly update the information. However we had a great stay and enjoyed our time exploring the area.
- Chris (10/5): Perfect setting for a relaxing getaway - Beautifully restored stone cottages set in the perfect location for a relaxing getaway. Ideally positioned for touring the Barossa and Adelaide Hills without the hustle of regional cities. While feeling like you are miles from anywhere it was an easy drive to Harndorf or Nuriootpa. Renate and John were the perfect hosts making you feel welcome from the start with fresh eggs, milk and butter in the fridge, freshly baked loaf of bread in the kitchen and a complimentary bottle of wine and chocolates to set you in the right mood. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 1860 Wine Country Cottages.
- Desma (10/5): Quiet time in the bush - Loved it! It was quiet and beautiful surroundings. The hosts were very nice.
