- Vanessa (10/5): Fabulous hotel in an amazing part of the world. Would fully recommend - Lovely rooms in a wonderful location. Breakfasts were gorgeous and all staff happy to help. Great that there was an electric charger and the ‘honesty bar’ made life really easy. A great lounge area to have a drink and relax at the end of the day. Some aspects of the website were misleading. The hot tub is only free if you book directly with the hotel. If you book through anyone else there is a £10.00 charge. Also on the website it suggested that you do not fully follow your sat nav but use the directions provided by the hotel, from the M6. Next time I would fully use sat nav, as we did on the way home. Trying to follow hotel directions added unnecessary time onto our journey.

- Richard (10/5): A fantastic property in a beautiful location. - A fantastic location to allow you to just chill out with beautiful scenery all around you. The property is amazing with a modern contemporary look and feel. The rooms are clean, comfortable and well throughout, especially the bifold doors opening out onto your own patio area. The breakfast is a star attraction with plenty of home cooked piping hot food and also cereals, pastries, fruit and yoghurts. The staff are polite, friendly and very informative. Nothing seems too much trouble. The only negative was a really hot radiator (towel rail) in the bathroom that we couldn’t adjust.

- Jacob (10/5): Amazing Place! - A perfect stay! Amazing comfy, cosy and massive bed which gave a perfect night sleep ahead of us climbing Scafell Pike which was really easy to get to. Super clean, loved the modern touches but also the traditional parts which remained from the barn. Breakfast was amazing and loved that it catered to vegetarian and non-dairy options without having to ask for this. We loved watching the alpacas from our bedroom. The freshly made cakes each day were such a treat and tasted beautiful. Only 10 mins drive from the beach, and some lovely restaurants like The Wild Olive. Can’t think of any faults!

Very comfortable and peaceful room (great shower too!). Nice to sit in private outside area listening to just housematins and distant sheep. All the breakfast options I tried were delicious. The immediate area is quiet rolling farmland with some lovely walks, and upper Wasdale, just along the road, has the most dramatic scenery in England. This stay was to be a one-off treat for me but I'm now planning a return visit! n/a
- Bronne (10/5): - A great room plus luxurious bathroom including a huge walk-in shower plus separate bath, the layout of this converted barn was well thought out, and the facilities were top-notch. Very friendly staff and owners. The car battery failed, and the owners kindly came to pick us up from where we were stranded. Just around the corner of Wasdale, with one of the best hiking options and dramatic scenery to be found in Lake District/England. Would recommend. Nothing.

The only thing I can mention here is the fact that the boiler had broken so there was no hot water for showers but Faith gave options to reschedule/discount/give kettles of hot water etc and we recognised this was a one-off and unpredictable event.

- Mark (10/5): - I loved my one night stay - truly relaxing - in one of the rooms with bath/shower & loo on a mezzanine above the bed. ~20 minutes awayfrom Scafell and 35 minutes away from the Hardknott Pass, it's location is in dramatic countryside. The bedroom is modern, clean and of a good size. The bed was very comfortable with great linen and pillows. Faith and the team were very welcoming even when I turned up too early. There are a couple of wooden benches in front of the buildings and a hot tub behind. If a couple of benches could be placed beyond the hot tub, you would be able to crash out and have stunning views. Breakfast, cooked to order, is really good quality as is the wide range of other foods available for breaky. All excellent really, so thank you for preparing me to ride over the Hardknott Pass.

- Katie (10/5): Amazing break. Beautiful views and lovely staff at the property - The property was beautiful, very clean and lots of little extras in the room that made it feel homely. Location was fantastic there were lots of walks to choose from, the breakfast was fab the choices were good. We have already booked to stay again in the bigger rooms in a couple of weeks so would definitely recommend. Only bad thing was the room above us woke us up both mornings / silly times in the night.

Issue number 1- failed to get access to hot tub due to there only being one hot tub and several possible guest with the abundance of space could have more than hot tub .Issue number 2 on leaving whilst settling honesty bar bill was also told there was a extra charge for dog after are stay when on initial payment for dog there was no mention of additional charge for pets just said pet friendly 🤷♂️

- Duncan (10/5): A dream stay in the gateway to the Lake District. - The property is amazing, Steve and Faith have done an amazing job, from the decor to the breakfast… and the hot tub was simply perfect. Steve helped us with finding some trekking locations and faith provided great instructions and directions. The room was amazingly clean with beautiful touches like chocolates and rose petals. I had requested champagne and the team delivered beautifully. I would highly recommend this property and can only look forward to visiting again.

- Hannah (10/5): Best B&B in the Lake District - The best B&B in the Lakes! We stayed for two nights in Dec 2024 and could not fault this place & will definitely be returning. It is finished to a high standard throughout, very comfortable and the staff are brilliant. It’s a great base for exploring the Lakes, either hiking, cycling, running etc and there is a boot room to dry wet clothes etc. The breakfast is delicious with a great selection including a hot fresh cooked to order option. There is an honesty bar which is well stocked and delicious cake is also available mid afternoon. It is very easy to access great local restaurants/ pubs in Gosforth e.g The Olive Tree. The staff we met were all incredibly friendly, helpful & polite. Thank you for a wonderful trip!

It was beautifully furnished and staff were helpful The mattress was hard and the pillows had no substance to them so we didn't get the best night's sleep. We could hear the room downstairs too so not well insulated. We could hear their TV and them talking until 1am.

- Jennifer (10/5): More special than any place you've ever stayed - Do you have a really wealthy friend with a sumptuous guest suite? Staying here is like visiting that friend. Every detail is meticulously curated, including robes, towels and flip flops that are delivered if you book the hot tub, homemade shortbread, color coordinated chocolates on your pillow, chef made breakfast, a focus on locally made amenities (bedding, toiletries, beers, jams, and other breakfast items), homemade cake every afternoon, combination lock door handles, multiple lighting options from ambient to task, soaking tub, rainfall shower and handheld wand. The inn itself is the quintessentially perfect combination of good planning, old bones and contemporary style. It is a refurbished barn from 1692 that has retained its stone walls, but been fitted with underfloor heating and kitted with high end plush furnishings and decorated with an eye for distinction. Set on a farm, it's a 5 min drive into Gosforth, 15 minutes to the Wast Water (or less if you don't hit traffic on the single track road),30 minutes to the ocean for beaches and seaside towns, and in the midst of all the wild beauty, ancient history and outdoor adventure available in the western Lake District. You won't find over crowded tourist towns here. You'll need a car, to get round, but you'll be staying in the lap of luxury whilst immersed in the wilder side of the District. Everything is so organised from the breakfasts to the hot tub schedule. The hot tub is fantastic with picturesque views. The breakfast is delicious with lots to choose from and the complimentary cake is such a lovely touch. We will be recommending it to everyone.

- Tammy (10/5): Great place in Lake District close to the deepest lake in England - Loved the surrounding area (with the alpacas). The room & bed were both super comfortable to stay in. Really enjoyed all the little touches in the decor and the services provided (cake in the afternoon, breakfast was amazing, great recommendations of nearby restaurant, the mini bar had tons of options). Staff very friendly and welcoming. Very close to the deepest lake in England - would definitely come back and stay here! N/a
- Graham (8/5): An excellent place for an overnight stop while exploring the Lake District. - Beautiful location. Easy to find. Very quiet. Lovely rooms with tea/coffee & cake on arrival. Delicious breakfast. Comfy bed. Personal preference but the bathroom door was made of glass which felt weird! A couple ignored the polite notice & brought their dogs into the dining area during breakfast service!

- Robert (10/5): Attention to detail - Its all about attention to detail, and this place has got it and then some! Can not rate this accomodation highly enough the staff where so friendly and helpful, and nothing was a problem for them. The little things matter and the place has plenty of quality. The hot tub was a nice extra as was the piano in the lounge area. Very clean and tidy. We will be back, lovely experience and the breakfast was excellent in both quality and quantity. It was a pleasure to stay here.

We lucked out and got the entire place to ourselves, lovely living room area! We had breakfast in the morning that was all fresh and tasty!
