- Steve (9/5): Fabulous peaceful garden full of so many birds. - The garden and pool are just lovely. We have never seen so many different types of birds in a hotel garden before. The location is really peaceful and quiet. The restaurant is really good too, but it doesn't open every night. This is a rural location, so I suppose some insects are to be expected. However, something unseen was constantly consuming the timbers in the ceiling and dropping sawdust down onto the bedsheets. The hotel should really fix this somehow.

Breakfast was very good and staff very helpful throughout. We stayed in the.main hotel building (not the separate lodges) and the sound insulation wasn't brilliant - although after 10pm the place was very quiet.

Vom Personal haben wir Tipps bekommen wo man am schnellsten zum Rio Cherripo kommt und baden kann. Super Tipp. Als Ausgangslage in die umgebenen Nationalparks echt perfekt. Tolle Lage. Wir hatten sogar ein eigenen Bungalow mit Kamin, den wir aber über 20 Grad nicht benötigten.

Hotel Pelicano is an animal paradise, particularly for birds. We saw birds of prey and two kinds of Toucan from our balcony. Gut eingerichteter Bungalow mitten in der Natur. Der Frühstücksort ist sehr schön, entspannend und man kann einige Vögel beobachten. Die Temperatureinstellung an der Dusche ist schwierig.

- Tracey (10/5): Excellent way to end our birding trip to Costa Rica. - This was our favourite Costa Rica hotel. Our cabin had beautiful views and was ideal for bird watching which is what we came for. We eat breakfast and evening meals at the hotel. The breakfasts were excellent, evening meals good and plenty of choice. If you stick to local options you cannot go wrong. The bed was comfortable and I really appreciated the firm pillows. The blanket were very welcome. Staff and in particular David were friendly and well trained. David gave us the recommendation of going to Talamanca Reserve and it did not disappoint. The best part was sitting out in the morning on the balcony soaking up the atmosphere. The restaurant closed early in the evenings so they ended up being quiet as driving in the dark in the area is challenging. The evening weather was not condusive for walking out. Cold in the mornings and evenings, the stove was tricky.

Many birds including toucans in the tree right off our balcony. The breakfast was very nice with fresh herbs from the garden out back. The wood stove in the room and wall to wall windows gave an incredible view. Confortable bed and delicious complimentary coffee in the room. It was challenging to get hot water out of the shower even. After trying multiple configurations and water pressures. No problem getting heat from the faucet. I could not get the wood stove to stay lit and the smoke came into the room when opening the door to add wood even with the flue open. It was our own assumptions but we booked this for the appearance of a hot tub after finishing the Chirripo summit hike. It was more of a kids wading pool next to the full size pool. As it was cloudy the morning of our check in the pool was more on the cooler side because it is heated by solar.

- Ruben (10/5): Perfect base for hiking Cerro Chirripó - We stayed at this hotel the night before climbing Cerro Chirripó, and it was an excellent choice. The staff were very knowledgeable and extremely helpful, offering valuable tips and advice for the hike. Their experience and familiarity with the climb really made a difference. The hotel is located about 2.5 km from the trailhead. They offer a shuttle service, or you can choose to drive yourself and park at the entrance of the national park for a fee. After the hike, we stayed for an additional night and thoroughly enjoyed relaxing by the pool and the peaceful natural surroundings. It’s the perfect place both to prepare for the climb and to unwind afterward. Highly recommended for anyone planning to hike Cerro Chirripó.

- Marcel (8/5): Cooler ruhiger Ort mit netten Menschen - Sehr nettes und freundlichs Personal, dass uns auch bei der weiteren Planung geholfen hat. Schöne Kabinen in Holzoptik und schöne Aussicht. Pool könnte wärmer sein. Beachten, dass wenn man den Cerro Chirripo besteigt, noch eine Stunde zum Eingang des Trails laufen muss. Oder man nimmt das Shuttle des Hotels (7000 Colones).

Souhaitant rester une nuit de plus, nous avons malheureusement découvert que ce logement n’était plus disponible. Le responsable nous a alors proposé un autre bungalow, situé au bord de la rivière, que nous avons dû régler en espèces (100 US$). Malheureusement, ce second hébergement manquait clairement d’entretien : ambiance sombre, éclairage insuffisant, forte humidité, plaque de cuisson et machine à café inexistantes, et absence de rideau occultant dans la chambre. Nous avons été déçu par ce deuxième logement

Gutes Essen,sehr nettes Personal,Zimmer sind Basic aber alles da was man braucht.Schöne Anlage mit vielen Vögeln in der Früh und einheimischen Säugetieren. Würden wieder hierherkommen. Waren im Regenwald alleine unterwegs,schöne Wasserfälle kaum Tourismus Anfang November.H&M Haben nichts auszusetzen

- Kristen (10/5): Chirripó Base Camp - Near to Chirripó registration offices for the park and for Crestones, this is a comfortable hotel tucked up on the mountain side with a delicious restaurant and pleasant grounds to walk on. The reception helped us get a ride to the trailhead for our climb, too.

- Mia (10/5): Perfect abode for a night. - Really close to Cloudbridge! Family run with a cool sweet history! Lots of care and attention from the staff which was such a treat! Delicious homemade soup! We were obsessed with the homemade hot sauce so begged and pleaded to be able to buy some which they accommodated! Beautiful morning views as we sipped coffee on the comfy chairs out front our cabin. We couldn't get our fire to stay lit but that's on us! :P

The hotel was within walking distance of restaurants and one supermarket. Our cabin was clean, spacious and tastefully furnished. We were also provided with coffee and sugar for the room. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel staff was kind and helped us with every request. Breakfast on the balcony with the birds chirping around was delicious. We recommend the stay and we would be happy to return.

- Taras (10/5): Fantastic place in the midst of the rain forest - This hotel is located in a fantastic place right in the lush rain forest. Mornings were unbelievable with all the birds singing. We had our own hut with a private beautiful garden. The facility was clean and comfortable. We found the restaurant to offer rather average food. There are better options nearby, so we mostly dined elsewhere.
