Guest Reviews
- Neville (9/5): Nice and cozy apartment. - We stayed there for 3 nights. Simona the host was very nice. She was very helpfull and approachable. We arrived by bus from the airport and she came for us at the bus station to pick us up and take us to the apartment. Property is located very near Porta Catania and Corso Umberto. Only 3 minutes walk away but still located in a quite area. There is also a supermarket very near. Apartment was very clean and cozy. I totally recommend. Nothing to complain about.

- Sheila (1/5): I would not recommend this “apartment” - Check-in was a nightmare. I emailed the host directly 2 times starting early in the morning , I left 4 messages on Booking.com, I called both his phone numbers including one call to Spain, all to no avail. We tried for 2 hr to find the address but Google Maps couldn’t locate it. This property is outside the city walls. The “apartment” consists of a 2’x3’ countertop, 5 bar stools a “minibar”fridge ,and a rusty hot plate. The twin beds are VERY uncomfortable with cheap thin mattresses .The terrace has no place to sit and overlooks someone’s laundry room. The apartment is terribly noisy unlike all our other stays in Sicily that overlooked main streets or squares.

- Maya (5/5): Passable - Great location, very close to Taormina centre with supermarket and restaurants nearby. Friendly and helpful host! The space is very small and wasn’t comfortable, no amenities, supplies/kitchen utensils and poorly ventilated. Decent for a short stay.
- Bruno (6/5): Pleasant -
- James (9/5): A great place for family stay right in the heart of Taormina - highly recommended - 1. Superb Location within the old historical town surrounded by all the shopping streets and restaurants
2. Compact yet spacious layout for family 5x person
3. Clean & Comfortable rooms
4. Good facilities 1. No parking allowed due to pedestrianised zone (no fault of owner - applies to all inner historical area apartments (must park at Parking Lot approx 10 mins walk)
2. Some street noise but no issue for us - we slept very well
- Karen (7/5): Good - Good location not far from the historical center and a small supermarket. Good restaurants close by. Far too small for 5 adults and only a kitchenette at best. No plates and only a hot plate for any cooking. . No kettle.
- Julia (9/5): Superb -
- Stefanie (8/5): Loved our time in Taormina - Great location! The 2 rooms we rented were in very close proximity. There were cafes and groceries near by. All the sleeping facilities were in the same space. Beds are a little stiff. Low lighting.
- Yee (2/5): Very poor -
- Soheyla (1/5): Be careful with the pictures, they are the mix of two apartments. Make sure you don’t get the old one. Otherwise you bec - The location was good. However, the apartment didn’t worth the price we paid for. One of the rooms was very small with two small beds for kids and we were two couples, none of us wanted to go to that narrow room.
Kitchen was too small with 3 tools. I had reserved the apartment for 4 adults. One of us had to stand up if we were in the kitchen. There was no comfortable place to sit any where in the apartment. The apartment was too old, furniture crappy. Limited and cheep kitchen utensils. What we found out, the owner has two apartments, one is remodeled and the other one hasn’t been touched. They publish the pictures of the 2 apartments together and makes it very confusing.
- Gatt (7/5): Good -
- Gatt (7/5): Good -
- Aferdita (10/5): Perfect location to stay close to city centre - Location was perfect , 150 walking distance from city centre , close to very nice restaurants and shops , clean and cozy atmosphere , comfy beds
- Gena (8/5): Very good - It was nice the rooms were clean and was near the center🤩the beach 10/10
- Vicki (10/5): Exceptional - Very close to corso umberto. Very clean, good air con. Very good communication with owners. Nothing not to like but just a suggestion could benefit from some plates and mugs. Very beautiful town.
- Ge (8/5): Generally it’s recommended for two people without car. - The location is good and the room is clear It’s bit narrow for 4 people and the ground floor is bit moist. No parking is available.
- Diana (2/5): BEWARE! Pictures represent 3 different apartments. No way to know which place you booked! - location Sorely disappointed. Each of the Vico Tauro houses should be listed separately so that one knows which place they are booking. Showing pictures of all 3 places in one listing on not naming the pictures according to their apartment caused us major issues during our stay. Apparently we booked the "Veronica" apartment, which was WAY too small. Do not book this for a family of 5 with luggage. It felt like we were in an airplane bathroom the entire time. The pictures made it look spacious because the pictures showed several spacious rooms and beautiful stonework. Apparently, we were looking at "Vicoletto". Taormina is gorgeous, this accommodation was not.
- Veronica (6/5): Great location, awful service - Location is perfect, clean and comfortable.owner very gentle and helpful, cleaner and personal rude Awful treat by manager
- Agnieszka (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, right at the gate to the old town. Great organization of key collection and check-in. The apartment is very clean, equipped with everything you need. A communicative host. Fast Internet. No parking available.
- Manuel (10/5): Amazing stay! - Rooms were very comfortable and the location in the heart of the historic center is ideal. The stay, too short!! 🙁
- Daniel (8/5): - Great location in a lovely place. Small and basic but functional and good value considering what you can pay in Tauromina.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The best thing about this hotel is its nearness to the Corso Umberto, or one of the main streets in Taormina. It is only a 5-minute walk to the Catania Gate, where the taxis are also located.
Other than that, the only other attractive thing about the hotel (or B&B?) was that the room had a/c. There was no breakfast. There was no towel service. The towels we received upon our arrival were the only ones we were given. And the dirty ones were not collected. There was no daily cleaning.
Communication was difficult as the owner/manager spoke only the Sicilian dialect, a language for which there is no language book with necessary travel phrases. The hotel is in a tourist location, so the owner/manager should have better written and oral communication skills. There was no such difficulty in other places in the area. Most waiters and shopkeepers in the area spoke several languages. In all our travels, we can usually find a common language to communicate in. Not so at this hotel.
If you opt to pay in person, know that this hotel accepts only cash in the local currency. This is not specified on its website. I hope this is corrected for future inquiries.
We come to Taormina quite often and this is the first time we had encountered any obstacles. Taormina is such a lovely city with quite a lot to do. Corso Umberto has numerous restaurants and street musicians. I certainly recommend the city for an extended stay. But I do not recommend this hotel (or B&B?).
- George (4/5): I expected much more. - In Nov 2017 we were persuaded to join a discount club paying approx £1500 that was going to unlock generous discounts both of hotels & travel for 5 yrs. This was our first use of it, paying £499 for 2 weeks. It was simply far too small, and barely worth the cash we paid never mind getting a discount. There was an extra single bed in the room which we did not need but took up what bit of extra space there was. It would have been far better used had there been a couple of easy chairs and a small table which there would have been room for. As it was, there was only one odd chair so we had to sit on the bed with our legs stretched out. The bed heads were loose & banged on the wall when you first leaned back. The kitchen was too small, had a central light in the ceiling but there was no switch, so the only light was a wall light, but you were in its shadow. The cooker had 4 gas rings, but we only needed 2, no microwave, no kettle, but we did heat water in a stainless steel jug, and had to use a plate as a lid. The fridge was shared with another flat in the building, but caused no problems. We had food & coffee for DIY breakfasts, which was appreciated. There was balcony with a "view" of a brick wall almost in touching distance, that was still awaiting its coat of rendering. I did send an email enquiry in Italian to ask if there was a parking space, but had no reply. We did not bring a car and there was nowhere to park it. No English TV, so not good value for money.
