We pray the property was not harmed by the flood as that area seems to be a target for a lot of the flooding we see on the news days after we stayed. Praying for the community and this little INN. The owners also communicated updates by text. They were great and we pray ok

- Claudia (8/5): Very good - I love the modern look of it, it was fantastic. My daughters love it. Had to disconnect the fridge to use the microwave and reconnect the fridge everytime we wanted to use it. Curtain shower was too short and when taking a shower the water was splatter into the floor.

- Lakshmi (2/5): Worst experience. -0/10 - Property does NOT uphold their pay at property option, if you choose this you will pay more and be charged the full amount days before check in. Hotels.com agreed with me this was not ok and are working to have my money returned to me. The property will not contact you to inform you of their policies when you book. In fact the communication from this property is almost non existent and when I was able to get in touch they are unapologetic and flat out rude. Room had not been cleaned when we checked in. There was an entire spider web, centipede and brown dried stains in the bathtub. The room smelled like musty mold/mildew. There was no cover on the exhaust fan in the bathroom and spewed dirt all over when turned on. Lounge had no ice, exposed cables and wires and the fridge in room would NOT stay closed. The bed was so hard the floor would have been more comfortable. It was so uncomfortable that we left a day early because I could barely walk from being in pain and property REFUSED to refund the unused night much less apologize for the room being unacceptable. Shortly after it started to rain a brown liquid started seeping out of the bathroom wall. No idea what it was or where it was coming from. Be warned, they leave stale Sams club snacks in the room and their policy states they will keep your deposit if anything is consumed or used from the room. No price list in room makes this illegal and blatant theft.

It also had a beautiful view of a waterfall down the mountain that can be seen from the porch. The staff was extremely helpful when we contacted them with questions, and we had a wonderful experience. We will definitely be returning customers!

Our room was recently renovated, clean, and spacious. The small kitchenette was very useful to make breakfast. (There is a small lounge where muffins and coffee are available at the inn in the morning, as well as filtered water to fill up water bottles.) We loved the Keurig coffee machine in the room, as well as the fridge with freezer and the microwave. It’s a “smart” hotel so we got the code to open our room via text message and we could communicate with them the same way during the entire stay, as there is no front desk with personnel. Free parking. There was a mix-up with our booking, though, as we got a different room that had no kitchenette. After some text messages we were able to sort that out. The inn is by the road so inevitably there’s some car noise coming in. The bed was too soft for out liking. There was also a lamp constantly turned on right in front of our room, so even with the “blackout” curtains used it wasn’t dark enough for the night. Showering was also a bit tricky as there was no wall holder for soap/shampoo and the shower curtain was pretty short so we had to pay attention not to flood the bathroom. Overall for the price I would definitely recommend it and would go back any time. This inn is the perfect choice for those wanting to explore the area without spending and arm and leg.

- Michelle (5/5): Okay, very small units. - Clean. Rooms were very small, especially bathrooms. Floors remained wet, due to condensation/humidity. It is a short walk to the village, but there are no footpaths and not ideal if raining. The carpark outside the units is soft unpacked gravel/stones. We arrived on motorcycles and one of the bikes slid out on the loose surface ... beware if arriving on two wheels! We also had trouble with communication via booking agent. Double check codes, we were given the wrong codes prior to arrival.

The area is super close to attractions, self check in and owner is quick to respond and courteous. Fridge and microwave. Nice lounge area with keurig coffee maker. Met cleaning staff she was super nice. Smart TV. Good shower. Easy Check in. Cons- older building. Smells of older room. Did not see fire extinguishers in ceiling. Extremely noisy you can hear neighbors from all sides and upstairs as well as road noise (right on the road). We did find a few hairs in the towels and bedsheets. Otherwise clean. The room was quaint and well lit. Different types of small bugs in room.

No staff except one cleaning lady during the day. Room was only cleaned after we left. Room was very small. No table except a small one outside. No chairs inside. No decaf coffee in the lobby. There was only one tiny trash can in bathroom. Parking is horrible on a busy road. Breakfast cakes provided were molded. No replacement available. You can hear every footstep, movement in the room above. Could not find any grocery store near the town. I won't go back.

- Marie (4/5): Dangerous bathtub - One of us ran out of hot water while taking a shower. And, unfortunately, you didn’t put enough non slip strips in the bottom of the tub. One of our group, a 76 yr old woman, slipped, hit her back on the edge of the tub and fell onto the floor. Badly bruised. Plus the shower curtain is too short, water all over the floor.

- Shell (8/5): - It was a nuce quiet hotel but really close to the road. The view was nice as long as you were looking out or up from the balcony. We were able to see Chimney Rock and the waterfall from the balcony. The campground across the street was a little rickety but our hotel was cute and nice. The beds were super comfy but with good support. The vintage looking mini fridge and microwave was a really cute touch.
- michaellS5926CP (8/5): Exceeded our expectations but don't expect anyone to answer a phone or respond to your emails - First, it appears that this location is now the Hickory Falls Inn. Hickory Falls Guesthouse must be a former name. Even though this facility looks like a 2 story motel from the outside, the Inn is a more proper and well deserved name for it because the room was modern, clean, and updated - far exceeding the quality of room we would expect from a motel. The Inn doesn't have a front desk and all of the rooms are accessed using a code that is sent to you to enter the room. The Inn also provides similar entry codes for a lounge area with coffee and another room that you can enter to look for something that you may have forgotten to bring such as a blanket or a pillow. Overall we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of this location. The only concern we had was the Inn's poor customer service communication process. We understand and appreciate that this Inn is trying to save money by not having anyone on site at a front desk. However, the Inn was trying to force us to provide a mobile phone number so that they could text us the instructions for entering our room. They even called and sent an urgent email stating that they needed us to provide them with a mobile number even though I had emailed them the day before our arrival asking them to email me the room entry code. Fortunately, one of the emails the Inn sent us had our room entry instruction so everything worked out well. But it is important to note that no one answered any of the 2 phone numbers I dialed or answered any of the emails that I sent to 2 separate emails when we were trying to confirm the room entry code instructions. This location should offer guests the option or providing either a cell phone or an email address as the primary method of contact. And this should be at the option of the guest, not based on the preference of the Inn.
- Mark (9/5): Superb - Amazing place to stay, so glad we found it. We stayed upstairs & the view of Hickory Nut Falls was amazing to eat breakfast with. It's maybe a 10 minute walk down to the village where the entrance to the park is. Couldn't fault the place. Donna & her Husband who drop in daily were amazing, she even gave me a squirt of window cleaner to clean the inside of our hire car front screen as the fog on it was dangerous driving into the sun. We loved everything about this place.
- Catherine (10/5): Exceptional - Very cozy and clean. I loved that the mini fridge actually had a functioning freezer. My daughter especially appreciated the microwave popcorn in the room that she got to enjoy while watching a movie when we got back to our room. Would definitely stay again!

- Shay (10/5): Wonderful hotel 10/10 - The view from the hotel was beautiful. We loved how modern the hotel is and how convenient the check in was. The lounge area was really nice. We played games while making coffee. The hotel was very clean. You can tell this hotel was very well thought out and the small touches were very nice. We will be back soon.

- Matthew (10/5): Perfect weekend getaway. - It was remodeled perfectly. Just a spacious room and bathroom, all we needed. Location was in walking distance to State Park and restraints. The view of Chimney Rock and the Falls were breathtaking taking. Nothing at all.
- John (8/5): - Property was quiet and clean. 1minute drive to downtown Chimney Rock. Only suggestions would be to have bigger trashcans in rooms. The ones available were tiny. There was no water in the lounge area. The water cooler was empty all weekend. Bring an extra pillow and the ones available are small. Other than that we would stay again.

- Uri (9/5): Great spot for a visit to hickory falls - Small inn which is very close to Hickory Nut Falls. Rooms are newly renovated and your have everything you need. The lounge is nice with coffee/tea and games for kids and adults. Inn is just on the road which might be a bit loud for those sensitive (it was ok for us) and there is nothing in walking distance. So a few minutes drive to get to the nice restaurants which are around.

- Vern (8/5): Enjoyable stay at a quaint modernized “guest house” in a terrific location - Stayed here in the past under different management, the new owners have significantly upgraded the interiors of the rooms, modernizing and improving the quality of the furnishings and beds. No face to face contact during the duration of the stay with hotel staff, everything was remote via text/phone calls. I get that this is likely more cost efficient but slightly impersonal and inconvenient while travelling.

- James (9/5): It was a beautiful stay at the inn. - Love the location. It was great to travel to the city which was less than a 1/2 mile from the hotel. The room was in a perfect spot to look at the falls. The bathroom was really small and wished the website had pointed that out. We made it work but would have been better if it was a little bigger.
- Sarah (10/5): Adorable remodeled retro motel - Adorable little retro motel. The view from the balconies is spectacular. The decor is very modern and comfortable. The room was spotless. Walking distance to all of the shops and restaurants. The road is busy, and we were worried about being able to sleep, but it definitely quieted down after sunset. Would definitely stay here again!
