Guest Reviews
- Sue (9/5): We had a wonderful, relaxing stay, enjoyed the well equipped kitchen and loved the views. - The location and views were sublime. The house was light and spacious, clean and well equipped. TV was not working, reported to hosts who said they will get it fixed. Very little firewood and kindling provided for a two night stay and no information provided about where to purchase more (we found the small local store has a small stock for sale).
- David (9/5): Great place. Great location. Very comfortable. Amazing views. - Wonderful view and location. Great amenities and layout. Value for money probably wasn’t there in terms of two people staying in off peak times.
- Denielle (7/5): -
- Rosemary (10/5): -
- Kohl (7/5): Excellent location close to facilities easy to find and to access. - Incredible view and great living areas.
- Colin (9/5): This place has views. Beautiful dramatic views. Love the house, location. Everything about it. - The location is sensational. First impression - the fantastic views of Coles Bay and the Hazards. Quite stunning.
Then the home - it is beautiful, designed to make the most of the views and is lovely to just be in. It is quiet and private and very close to the town centre and walking trails to the beach just outside the garden gate. The kitchen is very well equipped. Beds are comfortable and bathroom clean and spacious. Love it. The TV only had channel 9 and it's other additional channels so not worth turning it on. The reception is very bad, not sure if it's the location or just lack of connection but it kept dropping out and we gave up. Recommend packing a deck of cards, some games or a good book for the evenings when you can't see the views.
The Poang chairs have seen better days with greasy hair stains on the head rests and the mesh underneath giving up but still comfortable nonetheless. An upgrade would be great.
- Kate (8/5): Perfect except for comfort of the bed which didn't distract from our stay. Loved it and will return - Perfect location, view and accessibility to beach, Lodge, Cafes and Wineglass Bay. Perfect property and look forward to returning one day soon Just found the bed a bit uncomfortable
- Boyd (9/5): -
- Lilyanne (9/5): Great view & very comfortable - Beautiful location & handy to local restaurants & ice creamery.
- NH. (10/5): -
- Deborah (6/5): If all you want is view and location, this place is fine but given the shortcomings with the stay, the value is not ther - The view. Would never get tired of that view. It is very tired. The furniture was soiled. It was also very basic. E.g. no dishwasher, no dressers in the rooms. They were cheap on supplies. Eg. Gave 2 days worth of coffee when staying 3 days necessitating going out and buying a pound of coffee for one day. That would all have been ok except for the very high price for the accommodation, the most we have ever paid anywhere.
- Josie (10/5): - Perfect location with privacy, beach access, and close proximity to Freycinet National Park.
- Ashley (8/5): -
- Carlotta (8/5): - Vista mozzafiato, posizione fantastica sulla spiaggia. Salottino e cucina molto accoglienti. Parcheggio comodissimo.
- Gloria (9/5): - The location, views, and the house itself were gorgeous. The exterior of the toilet was dirty, with a noticeable drip stain that had not been cleaned.
The plate mats were dirty as well.
- TARA (8/5): A very relaxing stay in an idyllic picturesque location - The location was stellar! Couldn’t imagine a better view from your lounge room!
Beach access from the back of the property No dishwasher or internet
Champagne glasses, but no wine glasses
Needs more knives for cheese or basic chopping
- William (9/5): -
- Siobhan (9/5): Wonderful spot to enjoy the Freycinet area - Amazing views and location. Nice open plan layout with comfy double bed. Kitchen well equipped and spacious - amazing deck space. Very well located for easy access to park and the jetty area for great food and general store. Nothing to complain about - the two chairs in the main space are a bit worn out - probably time to replace them.
- Jessica (10/5): - Gorgeous well set up home with the most incredible view!!! Right on the water and a beautiful short walk along the water to near by shops/restaurants. The company looking after the home was great- great communication and helpful.
- Rosie (10/5): -
- David (10/5): -
- Chris (10/5): Coles Bay Stay - This property was the perfect place to stay in Coles Bay. Everything was as expected and the great views made it very special. Having the wood fire made it extremely cosy. Nothing to dislike.
- Francois (7/5): Good -
- Vivienne (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, loved the more casual beach vibe. Everything needed was available and excellent value for money. We wished we could stay for another night. Electric blanket didn't seem to be working. Can the trees be trimmed a bit to enhance the view. Otherwise everything perfect.
- Mary-anne (8/5): Loved it, would stay again - Location to walks and shops was perfect No blue tooth music player
- Whish-wilson (9/5): perfect for 6 ladies after a long walk in Freycinet - 2nd toilet back yard was full of thistles
- Lisa (10/5): Memorable. Amazing vista and location! 🤩🤩🤩 - Superb view, superb location.
Primo on both counts. -
- Annie (8/5): NO WIFI!!! Nuts in this day and age. Beds were small. House was like being transported back to the 70s But had a New kit - View and location NO WIFI. NO dryer NO dishwasher
- Clare (9/5): Good place to stay if you want to walk on the beach and for visiting Wineglass Bay lookout. - Loved the view and was close to the beach. Bit run down. Sagging seats.
- Jane (10/5): The view of the hazards and comfort of the loungeroom are a highlight. - The location of the property, the convenience to beach and water, short walk to shops and even hearing the waves lapping- peace and quiet was sensational.
- Donna (8/5): One of the most beautiful parts of the world. Original little beachfront cottage. - Lovely little cottage. The location was great. Overlooking the bay & mountains. Right on waters edge & path to little village & shops. Walking distance to tour boats. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
- Therese (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sharon (10/5): Absolutely stunning location. -
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- Buntyboy (1/5): Disappointing overpriced out of date house - The view The description of this property was totally incorrect the house is in very poor condition the furnishings are very dirty the lounges have stains and sweat stained and need a good clean , bathroom has a piece of cardboard in the louvred window the shower shelf has fallen off and missing
The verandah is in poor condition and unsafe the bbq was filthy the outdoor setting was pathetic
The laundry was filthy and outside
toilet. We actually left after our first night the bugs, ants and cockroaches were too much we went to Richmond and rented a beautiful clean property for under $200 for the night. The agents really need to inspect this property for the money it was ridiculous .
- Lindawills (8/5): Beautiful view and comfortable - Amazing view and perfect location for us. Quick drive or walk to pub for dinner. We loved it. Can't think of anything.
- Tony (7/5): Good -
- Gillian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brian (8/5): Enjoyable stay, able to walk to the beach. Would return just for the outlook - Fantastic location with great outlook over the bay to the National Park Bedrooms down stairs were musty when we arrived. Fortunately we did not have to use it. Upstairs bedroom s were quite small.
- Simon (5/5): Modest accommodation, great views - Location and fireplace Listed as 2 x queen beds, which is incorrect. There is 1 x queen bed and a double. Quite misleading. Also should have provided an extension cord in the double bed rooms so we could use the heater.
- Colin (6/5): Unfortunately disappointing - Great view and great location. Nice kitchen & living area. Management staff are very quick to respond and accommodating. Not a great welcome after having driven from the other side of Tasmania, as the bedroom downstairs hadn't been cleaned or the beds made with clean linen. The power had been turned off to the fridge, TV, and kitchen appliances - had to switch back on at the power box (not sure if everyone would think to check that - certainly wouldn't expect to do this). The bedrooms are a bit claustrophobic and the shower had no blinds on the window and surprisingly a door to directly outside. No soap holder in the shower, and infested with mosquitoes. Also a blackspot for mobile phones - took 12hrs at one point for a txt message to get out and had no Internet data coverage. As there is no WiFi provided by the accommodation, this was an issue. TV cable had to be forced in quite hard to stay in place.
Disappointed as this place has a lot of potential and looked so much better in the photos. As mentioned above, the management were quick to respond to our concerns and as we were only staying two nights decided not to have our stay interrupted with cleaners until after we left. But the owners need to do a bit more work on the place. Considering how much I payed for the accommodation, would have preferred to have stayed somewhere else or a night in Richmond & the lakes than a wasted two nights here. Sorry for the poor review, but I'm being completely honest.
- Elaine (8/5): Lovely place, would love to stay again but shame about the bbq - Views!! This place has the most amazing views, so lovely to wake up to sunrise here. The apartment itself was so spacious and had everything that we needed for a few nights. Location wise, it couldn’t have been better. It could have been cleaner, the bbq didn’t have any gas and hadn’t been cleaned by the previous people so we couldn’t use it. We had purchased our food on the way down so ended up having to cook it all in the oven.
- Stephen (2/5): Very poor - The place obviously had water damage. Because of that there was a very bad smell throughout. Lucky the weather was good that we could air it out! Excellent location. Hope they fix the water damaged carpet downstairs. Could have been excellent.
- Anthony (2/5): A great location spoilt by the dank and musty odour - the location was superb The place had a musky, dank odour right throughout it as if it hadn’t been properly aired for months. Most of the windows were jammed shut, so it was impossible to air properly. Two calls for assistance from Freycinet Beachfront Resort went unanswered and the messages we left were never responded to. My wife had to cover the bed with her own clothes to avoid the dank smell which had permeated everything. We seriously considered moving out, but eventually just put up with it. By the third day of airing, the smell had reduced significantly.
- Michael (9/5): Great spot for walks - Great views
Clean
Good kitchen facilities No internet
- Megan (10/5): great location with great views! - beautiful views and comfortable living. maybe a good airing out.
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emma (9/5): Perfect property with the most incredible views - Absolutely incredible views. So peaceful/calm. The property was well-equipped
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property was good and view was spectacular.. Our issues with the doors was rectified quickly, thank you! The ants were pretty pesky.
