Guest Reviews
- Debra (10/5): -
- Daemon (10/5): amazingly relaxing. - everything, from facilities, staff to the location. everything was perfect for a trip to phuket for EDC Thailand. none really.
- Shakeel (10/5): - Well equipped, beautifully furnished, clean. Private swimming pool . A green sanctuary in the middle of a busy street- with supermarkets, laundry, food, massage and spa centre next door and beautiful beach in walking distance
- Geir Bringsli (9/5): -
- Dawn (9/5): Highly recommended for adult families or groups seeking a relaxed, self-contained Phuket escape. - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at West Key Kamala Villa. Our group consisted of five adults—two parents and three children in their 20s—and the villa’s layout was ideal for us. The three separate bungalows surround a central pool, providing privacy while keeping everyone close. Each bungalow is spacious: two feature king-size beds, and one has twin beds, all with large, well-appointed bathrooms.
What truly sets this property apart is the abundance of communal space. There’s a lovely gazebo area perfect for evening games and relaxation, a fully equipped kitchen, a dining area, and a lounge (which we didn’t use much due to the beautiful weather, but it would have been invaluable on rainy days). These shaded spots offered plenty of places to escape the heat when the poolside became too intense.
The villa was impeccably maintained. Daily cleaning was included, with a housekeeper arriving around 9 am and finishing by midday (we declined the option of full-time on-site staff). A pool attendant also visited briefly each morning.
As we were all adults, the setup felt safe and relaxed. However, families with young children should note that the pool is unfenced and centrally located between the bungalows. Accessibility may also be difficult with the amount of steps. The complex is accessed via key fob, but it’s situated next to a busy road, so we locked our individual bungalow doors each evening for added peace of mind.
The location is convenient, with supermarkets, a pharmacy, massage parlours, and eateries all within easy walking distance. Some standout spots we frequented (all just minutes away):
• Hey Siri – Exceptional massages; the whole family returned at least five times during our stay.
• Coffee by Nana – A charming, unpretentious café directly opposite the villa with a warm and friendly owner.
• Restaurants: Crash, Grow Ma Lee, and Papa Crab
Overall, West Key Kamala Villa offered the perfect blend of privacy, space, and comfort for our multi-generational group. A few minor drawbacks to note: As with much of tropical Phuket, mosquitoes can be persistent, so packing and using repellent regularly is a must we did get bitten regularly around the complex.
Traffic noise from the nearby main road is audible at times, particularly at night in the bungalow closest to it, and the road can feel very busy when crossing to the beach.
- Karen (5/5): A great place for families and friends if the mosquitoes are kept at bay! - The property was accurately portrayed on the pictures and the place is lovely. It is a sanctuary right outside a street and interestingly not noisy. The place is kept very clean and the kitchen is very well equipped. We booked a chef and she was impressed as well. The beds are comfortable and sheets luxurious. The pool is also clean with a flamingo float as bonus! Mosquitoes. That’s probably the only reason why I didn’t rate the property better. Something has to be done about and even with all the repellent (coil, electric, sprays.. we tried it all) it didn’t stop them and there are a lot.
- Awad (10/5): - The Villa is super decorated with beautiful crafts and statues tha make the stay mesmerizing. The vacinity is calm and full of what you need. There was a lady from the staff who stays in the villa called Meo Meo. She is so helpful and extremely a bliss to have around for help and assistance
- Daniel (7/5): Good -
- Nuchanard (10/5): Excellent Place for Family - Super nice place to stay with family. Private pool. 15 mins walk to Kamala beach No breakfast included. You will need to grab quick breakfast from convenient stores if you need to leave for a trip early.
- Jack (9/5): Superb -
- Katherine (10/5): Wonderful experience in a Thai property housekeeper was amazing - Authentic Thai house. Wonderful staff, very attentive spotlessly clean. Nothing
- Peter (1/5): Beware..be very careful of this place - Location was ok Attitude of owners and managers.
They ripped us off for paying for a broken item we had not broken
Terrible communication and they in my view are corrupt.
- Witold (10/5): Exceptional - Spacious, very private property, very nice pool and common area.
Fabulous Thai restaurant opposite the house.
Very close to supermarkets, massage spots and fruit stalls. Close to everything you need in Thailand, though very secluded and private Nothing
- Megan (10/5): Great villa. Would stay again! - The layout and set up was good.
Aircon worked well.
Location was great - lots of eateries and massage places within 2 minute walk. Defibrillator recommend the coffee and oreo shakes from the vendor across the road. 15-20 minute walk to Kamala Beach and the main retail area.
Photos on the website are accurate representations of the villa. Wifi didn't work all the time - could have been related to the storm that came through
Beds in rooms 1 and 3 were very high
Surfaces in bedrooms were all quite cluttered
- Ashton (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maisam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alexandr (10/5): Exceptional - Exceptional villa, stylish design, very green garden! Excellent location with Kamala beach 10min walk and shops/cafes really next door. Great personnel, perfectly clean.
- Amber (10/5): Beautiful, lovely, and perfect - This place was amazing!!!! 3 seperate rooms. One room with 2 twin beds and 2 rooms with a queen sized bed. The were all seperated like a traditional Thai house. The eating area is open air and there is a wonderful sitting spot surrounding by a Wonderful air con and tubs in the rooms with a single bed. The onside pool was great and shaded during the day at times which was helpful to help us prevent a sunbun. You will have to walk about 10-15 min to the beach and about 10-15 min to the town/lively area. There is a 7-11 and a mini C really close to the place as well as ATMs. The house keeper was amazing and helped with laundry and making coffee and keeping things tidy. She was amazing and kind. Would def recommend this place. It was just right for us and wonderful. There is a key card to swipe to get into the place and each room had a key. If you have small children the pool might be an issue for you as there is no child safety with the pool in place. Just something to keep in mind. Only thing I didn't like was that we did not book a longer stay.
- Liz (9/5): Beautiful private sanctuary, 10 mins walk from Kamala Beach - West Key Kamala Villa is a lovely private sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the street outside. It contains 3 separate villas behind a locked gate which is accessed via a keypad. We stayed as a family with older teenage children who had their own rooms, so it was perfect for us. Having our own pool and kitchen facilities was great to be able to cook our own breakfast, make coffees etc. We were very grateful for Nam the Manager who waited for us to check-in as our plane was delayed. The cleaner Thida is a lovely young lady who comes daily and keeps the rooms and gardens clean, she is very sweet and very helpful if required. There is a pool guy who comes for about an hour a day to clean the pool and tidy the gardens a bit, he was friendly and did his thing then left. The rooms are large, with excellent bathrooms and air conditioning, the kitchen has every electrical product you could ever need, there is an air conditioned lounge room which can be utilised also and it really is a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. The 7/11 is across the road and a Mini Big C supermarket nearby for bread, milk etc and numerous restaurants in the street for meals so location is great. We were very pleased with our stay and highly recommend West Key Kamala Villa. The villa my husband and I were in has a cupboard in the bathroom, unfortunately it smells mouldy due to to being in the shower area so we were unable to utilise the hanging space, but it didn't really matter as we didn't have much to hang anyway and there is so much other space in the villa to use it was not a problem. This certainly did not affect our stay. We loved West Key Kamala Villa.
- Zaharin (10/5): Excellent - Superb Clean n Cozy..will come again with bigger family @ 8 pax Nik
- Sergei (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anne (8/5): Lovely retreat - Very beautiful property. It felt like a lovely retreat away from the world. Very well maintained. The gardens and plants invited birds and butterflies.
Fully equipped kitchen so if you’re considering long term it’s very practical. Location is walking distance to the beach & lots of food stalls, a 711, mini Big C and pharmacy. We went during low season so the street was pretty dead.
The Oasis spa next door was luxurious. However if you’re looking for budget ones they are all at the beach or at the street next to the beach.
Some important things to note especially if you’re travelling with kids
- the villa is comprised of separate huts/rooms and not one large villa with rooms within so take note should it rain
- the beds were unusually high with two mattresses stacked on top of the bed frame so falling off the bed is something to consider
Some of the downsides of this property
- electrical was a bit iffy - sparks when we plugged something in
- Wifi connection was poor
- Mahmood (9/5): Enjoyed it. - Nice and spacious villa for family. Private swimming pool. Not very safe for kids not swimming. We have to watch them all the time. No locker from inside with a key. No good nearby restaurants but we cooked at home. Patong beach not far away.
- Gokul (7/5): Good but with room for improvement - Property is beautiful with great design and gorgeous interiors. Makes you feel like you’re at home the shower in room no. 3 wasn’t working. We mentioned this on the first night of our stay and it still wasn’t fixed. This wasn’t pleasant
- Anoop (8/5): Very good - Green, peaceful and relaxing
- Sylvia (9/5): very enjoyable family holiday and we loved the Villa and shops nearby . you can walk to the beach in approximately 5 min - we had our family stay and we booked the 3 villas which are separate from each other. The rooms were cleaned and large and everything was beautifully presented.
Pool was very clean and staff very helpful no issues but remember to take mosquito spray !!
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sophie (9/5): Very pleasant stay 👍 - This villa is so beautiful with a swimming pool in the middle which surrounded with lovely plants and trees; the staff Dow is so sweet and helpful; cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacy store are only steps away, super convenient; Kamala Beach is within walking distance (around 10 mins walk); there is also a small night market around the corner, highly recommended! Be careful with the mosquitos 😅
- Stephane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Claire (10/5): Serene villa away from the main (overrated - The host was warm and welcoming— she will get you a taxi, or even cook you dinner if you bring her ingredients. The Villa was clean and in the old Thai style. The pool was clean and a welcome break from the humidity. The weed cafe across the street is a major bonus with yummy home style food, good tunes and the owners are great people. Wonderful experience. Nothing bad to say
- Petr (10/5): Exceptional - This place is also absolutely amazing. Even though it's next to a relatively busy road, once you walk in you feel like in your own paradise. Everything inside just makes you wanna relax and enjoy your stay. The villas are spacious, bathrooms are very well equipped, there is a safe - everything you need. So if you want to enjoy a day on the beach and then return to your safe Harbor this is the place for you. Breakfast could be a bit better.
- Natasha (10/5): A really beautiful homely property! - The property comprises of 3 separate villas, each of which was enormous, with huge beds and family bathrooms. It felt incredibly private and enclosed despite being close to a road. We loved the dining area and separate social area too, as well as the pool. It’s clear that the owner takes a lot of pride in the property and consequently, it is really so much more beautiful than we expected! Mama resides at the property and is up early every day to clean the outdoor areas and prepare breakfast. She also offered to wash clothes for us and even ironed a friend’s dress before dinner! Nothing at all! The beds are on the firmer side however, though I have found this across Thailand.
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
