- Richard (10/5): - Friendly welcome, beautiful room, lovely breakfast in another gorgeous room. A perfect overnight stay.
- Petro (10/5): - A great overnight stopover on the way back to the U.K. A lovely historical property and garden, welcoming host, nice breakfast and just 30 minutes from Calais. An excellent find and we will definitely return.
- Alison (10/5): - The host was very kind, welcoming and discrete. The house and grounds are really something special, you will be amazed. Beautifully decorated room and modern bathroom in a traditional style, lovely breakfast (early due to our itinerary) with quality products. A wonderful stop near Calais, really worth a small detour. Thanks to our host.
- Paul (10/5): - Great stopover before early morning Eurotunnel. Gilles was a perfect host with excellent communication, wonderful breakfast with lovely apple juice made from the apples grown in the wonderful gardens. Comfy bed, nice shower with a kettle on the room, all you need for an overnight stop. The house and gardens were stunning.
- Regina (8/5): Delicious - “Delicious” - to me the best hotel in the area if you need to stay close to Calais
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful building and a very friendly host
- Sue (10/5): - The property is an historical building decorated in a sympathetic way. The grounds were lovely and you could sit out if you wanted to. The bedroom was large but the over bath shower was a bit tricky and needed a hand rail to safely get in and out.
Breakfast was simple, croissants, bread, jam and a few bits of cheese.
- Laurie (10/5): - Everything. A lovely place to stay. Great room. Good breakfast. Faultless service. Thanks very much!!! Tres bien !
- ALISON (10/5): Highly recommend - Had a bit of an issue at check-in but was sorted quickly.

A great, close stay for catching or arriving on the Channel Tunnel

- Andrea (10/5): - This stunning home is run by a perfect French gentleman. His home is truly loved and very well presented. Breakfast was a treat of home-produced honey, apple juice, and fresh baguettes and croissants. We'd highly recommend it and hope to return next year. Thank you.
- Brittney (10/5): - 100000\10 would HIGHLY recommend!! My first review ever for a hotel on Travelocity and I have used this app for years!! Had to take the time as this place is a little slice of heaven and I can’t wait to stay here again! The host and owner was so kind and helpful! The grounds are stunning and so it the chateau!! I cannot believe how inexpensive this place is for what you get!!

Our arrival time kept changing due to delays in our ferry crossing but the host was very accommodating and waited up for us.

- Fiona (8/5): - This is a beautiful house and Gilles is charming. The gardens are lovely. This was an ideal stop off for Calais as 30 minute drive away. Breakfast was fine - croissants, bread, cheese, bananas, jams, orange juice and coffee.
This is a very large, beautiful, old house. Unfortunately it is dusty in many areas, -corners, skirting boards. All areas need redecorating.
We arrived @ 5pm on a Monday- take note - all nearby restaurants/ takeaways were shut on Mondays. We eventually found one pizza restaurant in St Omer - 8 miles away- not what you want to have to do after a long journey.
- Deborah (8/5): - A beautiful house with lovely rooms and garden. The owner is very pleasant. The property was well placed for a stopover before driving to Calais to take Le Shuttle. It was a reasonable price and basic continental breakfast included. Another guest review mentioned a lack of places to dine locally, so we stopped at a supermarket on the way to buy picnic food and enjoyed sitting in the garden.
- Claire (10/5): Tranquil - A perfect quiet and tranquil setting for our overnight stay. The host was friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and bed was comfortable. Beautiful gardens to enjoy and a lovely breakfast . We will definitely be going back.

- William (10/5): Beautiful stay - Beautiful location in an old French home. Very quiet, excellent breakfast but be aware there are limited to no evening food options. It is about 40 minutes from Calais tunnel terminal. Would definitely use again but would pack a picnic supper to enjoy in the garden which was beautiful. Gilles was an excellent host.
- Bernard (10/5): A wonderful peace bed and breakfast - A very peaceful, quiet place to stay in the French countryside. Our room was large with a modern bathroom. - Rosemary (8/5): Had to pay in cash! Quiet location - Quiet location. Giles v helpful. Unfortunately no local ‘restaurant’ open! One of the towels had ‘holes’ and had to pay in cash (wasn’t able to use credit card) - NOT made aware of this at booking!

Overall very nice .
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We stayed here on the 22nd to 24th September 2019. Was greeted by the owner who was very welcoming and friendly. The whole house particularly the bedrooms were decorated to a very high standard. The house and grounds are pet friendly and our dog Alfie was certainly impressed. We would definitely stay there again and work it into our itinerary from and to Calais or the Eurotunnel.5 star

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fantastic property with a wonderful host. Thank you very much for our stay
- Karen (10/5): Beautiful French country house in a rural setting - A lovely, French country maison. Very quiet and peaceful with a pretty garden. This place is good value for the price. The house is beautifully decorated with French antiques and the house owner, Gilles, provided a good continental breakfast including croissants, French bread, cheese, jams and honey, fresh fruit, coffee or tea, and orange juice. We had a fabulous 3 course meal at a nearby restaurant for a very reasonable price. I would be happy to stay there again and would highly recommend it.
- Michael (10/5): Great find - Our second visit to Le Clos Boutenelle and it's still a jewel.
- Matt (10/5): Beautiful place to stay - Had a great two day stay here.
Great host, room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was lovely and the house and surroundings were beautiful.
Wifi was good and so was mobile phone signal with Sky.
Would highly recommend and if I am in the area again I will definitely be looking to re-book.
- Michael (10/5): Fabulous Accommodation - A beautiful place to stay off the beaten track. Our host was charming and calm. We were greeted in the grounds as soon as we had parked the car and made to feel welcome. Our room was spacious, comfortable and spotless. Breakfast was typically French and consisted in the main of wonderful French baguette, croissants, very tasty confiture, cheese selection and fresh fruit, tea or coffee and fruit juice.
A jewel to be revisited and the local area explored.
- David (10/5): - Quiet location and excellent host.
- Sherie (10/5): Beautiful property in the countryside - Beautiful rooms , exceptionally clean and very quiet . Comfy beds.Wooden stairs and floors a nice touch but be aware of your neighbours as they do make noise when walked on.Good Breakfast included at a time to suit you. Not ideal if you want to go out in the evening as it’s s bit out the way and very quiet but perfect if you like peace and quiet and a good rest. Gilles was a pleasant host .they also have a two bedroom suite for families . We would Recommend .
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful house, fantastic breakfast and very friendly host.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - An extremely helpful and communicative host and very comfortable room. A great find off the beaten track!
- Robert (10/5): Luxurious stay - Amazing stay in a beautiful property not far from Calais but set in quiet countryside. Guest rooms are spotlessly clean and all to s very high standard. Gilles even has a guest fridge available to keep your wine chilled. There are no restaurants close by so bring a picnic, have dinner beforehand or be prepared for a drive. We will certainly stay again when in the area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Quietest place I have ever stayed.😊. Old and very comfortable. Bathrooms are.modern
- William (10/5): Nice and restful - Very quiet B&B. Gilles a very good host. Good WiFi. Spacious and clean accommodation.
- Tony (10/5): Excellent - This is probably the best B1B we have stayed in Very good rooms showers and breakfast with a very attentive host The only slight downside is that you need to travel for an evening meal
- Gabriele (10/5): Old Charm Bed and Breakfast - The old farmhouse with lovely grounds offered a very pleasant stay over on our way back to the UK. It is situated on a small lane off the main road. It was easy to find once we put the address into the SATNAV. The owner welcomed us on our arrival. The room was spacious and traditionally and tastefully furnished. The bed was comfortable and the on suite bathroom, although it little old fashioned, was clean and fully functional. It may have taken a little to get the temperature right for the shower. A kettle and tea bags were provided. As one of us don't drink tea we missed complementary coffee in the room. The breakfast was served from 7am, which was ideal to catch the 9:30 ferry from Calais to Dover. It took us just about 45 minutes from the hotel to the Ferry Terminal. We enjoyed the continental breakfast with fresh croissants and baguette, which was included in the very reasonable price for the night. All in all it was a charming place and a nice alternative to the usually soulless chain hotels. We would not hesitate to recommend this small, family run hotel and would certainly book it again.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Charming lodging in lush grounds - We stayed here one night with our small dog on a car journey down from London to Italy. The host, Giles, welcomed us warmly even though we arrived quite late. It is a lovely property set in lush grounds in the countryside.
