- Ian (10/5): A good nights sleep. - The hotel was clean and I had a very good nights sleep. There was plenty of parking and evening meal was good. Wi Fi was not very good and 8 had no mobile signal throughout my stay.
- Jason (8/5): - The paint decoration in the rooms is rather dark, but the place is good. Bed pillows and duvet are great, good room and spacious shower. Breakfast was also really good. Very relaxing environment, would definitely stop again if in the area.

- Karen (6/5): - Generally it was good but the rooms were much too dark. I quite like dark decor but the lighting didnāt compensate for this when I needed it. The bathroom was the same and the lighting was so dysfunctional that I couldnāt use it to put my makeup on. You need some functionality in the bathroom but unfortunately there was none
- Darryl (6/5): 1 night stay - Overnight stay, friendly welcome and an enjoyable evening meal. Breakfast was hit and miss, with various options unavailable. The room was very small, very hot and in need of decoration.

This was partly the decor, with all the walls and ceiling painted a very dark blue/black, but there were also signs of damp, with peeling plaster. The picture is the view from the window, which is supposed to be a view of the river.

Slightly disappointed in the room, mostly clean but not in the best condition. Bed was on a slant so nearly rolled off in the night. Could do with either air con or access to a fan as room got very warm (did stay in the middle of a heat wave though)

- Malcolm (4/5): Awful. - Positives first the staff were lovely, but the place is very dated, my room was awful looks like there had been a water leak some time ago and the wall behind my bed was in very poor condition the windows were filthy and there were dead insects on the ledges. The bathroom needed a complete overhaul and at least repointing. The carpet was dirty and the mattress on the bed had broken springs. Telly with picture issues too so couldnāt watch it. Room was like going back to the 1970s - Wonāt be staying here again.

Room we had (Deluxe Double) was as per the photos. Just a little shame the TV was not working, but they did apologise for the known fault and offered free drinks as recompense.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Not terrible butā¦ - I imagine this hotel was niceā¦ 20 years ago when the photos advertising it were taken. Such a shame because itās a nice building in a lovely area. I canāt speak for the original building itself, maybe those rooms are better kept, but we were placed in the outbuilding across the way and the rooms were incredibly tired and shoddy, with chipped paintwork and soiled carpet. The toilet was stained and there were no toiletries in the bathroom. On arrival, we had to use the telephone as instructed on the main desk to call for someone to come and check us in. Both staff members we encountered looked incredibly young (not an issue in itself of course) however when my partner went to alert the young girl on reception that we had needed to make a police call the night before due to what sounded like DV in the room next door to us, it was clear that this staff member was highly inexperienced. They did not ask any further questions or enquire as to the safety of the room occupant next door. Just said āOh dearā and left it at thatā¦? Frequent visitors to the area but not sure we would stay again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We had a 2 night stay at the Bridge Hotel, Prestbury, on arrival the reception was desserted, and in all not very welcoming, after searching around to find someone we finally booked in. The room was quite basic and in need of a bright make over, one bedside bulb was missing , TV had no reception, & the toilet cistern was not working properly, at checking out time, there was no one to be found in or around the reception again, in frustration we left the key on reception desk and left. I was quite sad as i have family connections with the hotel going back many years, my memories were of a cheerful welcoming hotel, it is in need of a make over, & more staff particularly on reception to meet and greet to make people more welcome, as they are the face of the hotel, first impressions is the key.

The bathroom needs updating, no light bulbs in the lamps and the curtains didnāt close properly with the rail held together with a cable tie. Would help to have a small fridge in the room too! The restaurant was closed (no pre warning and most eateries around the area closed on Monday!) there was a lovely but completely run off her feet member of staff who was doing room check in and managing the bar by herself. She was fantastic in getting everything done and gave amazing customer service but not a pleasant stay for me for the price I paid.

Food was fantastic as well great service dog friendly which was so good to see . We ran over into late check out and was late for breakfast the staff wasn't fazed at all 10/10 stay definitely recommend

Any problems were sorted out immediately, and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was great too. Will definitely be back.

- allison (10/5): Wonderful staff in a perfect hotel - This hotel is a wee gem of a place. The location in the village is perfect and the hotel is charming and comfortable. The greatest asset is the wonderful staff who went out of their way to make our Stay so comfortable.
- Martin (4/5): - The staff were really nice, the food in the evening and at breakfast was good. It's such a shame that the room we had was awful. The whole of the separate hotel block feels like it's made of cardboard! The noise is awful - we got no sleep. We were in a room on the lower floor and the whole upstairs creaks when anyone moves a muscle. Worse still, every text message that anyone in the building received vibrated through our room. We could also hear the person next door snoring as the stud walls are paper thin. I think all of the water in the building passed through our room and there was constant hammering of the water starting and stopping which was frequently accompanied by extractor fan noise. The room was decorated in very dark colours and poorly lit . I guess the ceilings were painted in the same colour as the walls to hide the office like tiled ceiling. It was impossible for my wife to do her make up in the lighting. There were 5 hair pains on the floor so I guess the room hadn't been hoovered. The bathroom towel rail had leaked all over the floor by the time we got back to the room after our meal. The room looked quite shabby - things like painted window handles and missing basin sealant and the toilet wouldn't flush well. The room was also very very hot. Such a shame as it's a nice location and the staff were very pleasant.

- Karl (10/5): Last minute gem - Was halfway to Buxton when the original hotel I'd booked (not this one) cancelled my booking - but it turns out that was a blessing. The bridge was exactly what I needed, such a warm and welcoming atmosphere and the food in the restaurant was absolutely divine. Cannot recommend this place enough

- S (10/5): An ideal break in a great hotel - Hard to find any fault at all: our welcome was very genuine, the room was excellent, the meals were excellent or good, and the staff were unfailingly cheerful and efficient. We had two small issues, both dealt with extremely quickly and without fuss. We don't hold the hotel or the staff responsible for the weather during our stay!

Proper bacon cooked very well. Poached eggs cooked perfectley. Yolks a deep orange lovely. Highly recommended.

Room was in the annex part and was ok, but bathroom and parts of room totally in need of refurbishment. Main building area, including reception and bar/restaurant were lovely and maybe rooms in this area were better.

She was very polite and friendly. She will know who she is. The room confusion was my own fault really. All good.

- Ian (10/5): Warm welcome, helpful service, great food - I had to stay at The Bridge to attend a local event recently, and found the experience to be top-notch. The staff are friendly, attentive and very helpful, and were only too happy to look after my bags for me for a while after I had checked out. I had both dinner and breakfast in the pub restaurant, and found the food to be of excellent quality and the service to be very friendly and welcoming. My room was in excellent condition and very clean with a lovely view of the nearby river and a comfortable bed with luxurious sheets. Free Wifi was also included. Parking at the rear of the hotel was plentiful and free for guests. Overall a lovely experience and I would recommend The Bridge for anyone looking to stay in the area for business or leisure.

Next morning we had breakfast - that was ok. They didnāt refill many of the buffet style items, so, my partner didnāt get a pastry as I had the last oneā¦ Paid for late check out however the maid mustnāt have known and rudely kept knocking. Rooms are a little tired didnāt have a working extractor in the bathroom. Would definitely stay again

- Matt (10/5): Birthday 2 night treat - We we very please with our over all stay. 98% of the staff were amazing. Sorry to say but a couple of staff made us feel in welcome š©. But everything else was fantastic the food was amazing not a fault The room were really clean and tidy very presentable, only thing with the rooms I would say just need a bit of a spruce up apart from that very good and we will be back.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Dog friendly stay - Lovely bar and dining area and a warm welcome with a doggy goody bag. The room was lovely and big but in need of a refurb. The bed was sloping one way which lead to a bad nights sleep. The chairs were well worn & the bathroom could do with a deep clean of grout mould. A lovely location to stay whilst visiting friends with our dog.
