- Elise-marie (8/5): Very relaxing even when dealing with personal problems. - Lovely pretty village, near amenities and two pubs. I couldn’t find fault with our stay. The bed was super comfortable!
- Keith (10/5): - Friendliness of owner/comfort
- Richard (2/5): - Was told I couldnt have the cottage I had booked.
Was given an altetnative, which seemed nice, but my bedroom was above the kitchen.
Walls and floors very thin, noise travels very easily.
Also was informed I had to share with a family from America, who proceded to keep me awake every night, cooking and laughing in the kitchen till nearly 6am.
I checked out early, tried to call tje lady, who also did not even introduce herself, so still dont know her name.
The showerroom was not clean, hair in the shower, scum around the edge, I was not impressed.
Ive had no return call , when I checked out, my call went to phone message.
Worst experience of staying somewhere.
Do not recomend at all.
Unless your American !
- Patricia (7/5): Weekend stay - I found the cottage easily. It was exactly to where we needed to be. Everything was a good fit for our time away. So no didn't likes.
- Daniel (10/5): -
- Terence (7/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): - Great stay as always. Highly reccomend
- Joyce (4/5): - Wasn't informed we would be sharing with another family. Room was cute, but if you weren't careful you would hit your head. your
- Gordon (3/5): Poor - Unfortunately I di d not get the facility that I had paid for. Apparently there were builders or plumbers working in the place that I had booked so I was put in a Attic room where you banged your head on the sloping ceilings. No comfy seating which I had paid for so I had to sit on the bed to watch the tv. Not the service that I had expected as I had paid for a more expensive room.
- Kent (10/5): Thank you, Sian !!! I would stay here again when I visit Mildenhall again!! : ) - The location was great. Was in a quaint, quiet village N/A
- Ovidiu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (8/5): Very good -
- Pazdan (5/5): Passable - I booker a room for 120£! Why did I psy £ 140????!!!!
- Dan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joanna (6/5): Pleasant -
- Darlene (1/5): False advertising and no communication from owner. - N/A Property was not as advertised. We did not realise that it was shared accommodation and shared facilities. No private bathroom as per advertised. There was no communication with the owner once she realised we were unhappy with the shared facilities. We assume this is not the first this has happened, as it was the first thing she mentioned toned upon meeting us. It is now clear why there is a no refund policy, as the shared facilities is only mentioned once in the third paragraph of the description of the actual cottage, there is no mention at all in the room descriptions.
- Justin (5/5): An unfortunate set of circumstances - Location for what we wanted Being next to a very noisy pub, Sunday night we had to go for a drive as the local youths about 10 or 12 were leaning against our vehicle. The other guest cooked food at 1230 at night & the communal kitchen was right next to our bedroom, he watched TV loud, so no sleep. Probably an unfortunate set of circumstances but we wouldn't stay there again
- Pop (10/5): Lovely cottage - Very friendly staff. A cosy cottage, clean and comfortable. n/a
- Joanna (7/5): Comfortable and friendly. - It was clean and comfortable. We arrived late in the evening after a very long journey which had been quite stressful and after a phone call to say we would be late arriving and I was in need of a glass of wine, there was wine waiting in the fridge for me. Very welcome indeed!! The bathroom for the downstairs bedroom is through the shared lounge/kitchen. This is fine for a family or couple but not ideal when there are other guests.
- Narelle (9/5): Superb -
- Robin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (6/5): 3 DAYS ROAD TEIP - Close to Mildenhall and the airbase Shower was a little 'tired'
Could hear every noise from upstairs as the house was very small.
- Susan (8/5): Very pleasant and catered for our needs - Situated in a pleasant village. Lovely walk through the fields by the river to the Riverside Hotel. There was a hole in the door the size of a10p at eye level that was a bit unnerving. The latches and locks on the doors were very noisy when visiting the bathroom at night felt very aware of disturbing other guests.
- Michael (10/5): We hope to return soon . Lovely place - Cosey, quiet and well positioned in a lovely village for trips to the Forest and surrounding towns. Nothing to dislike
- Watekini (8/5): Very good -
- Anthony (9/5): Superb -
- Denise (1/5): We refused to stay in a very small house with strangers - We canceled our stay here. Upon arrival We were told if we wanted to stay we needed to share the house with complete strangers it was a small little house that gave us a bedroom.. we supposedly could stay there if we wanted to pay extra so that no one else could stay in the other bedroom. the owner then offered us a studio that was nearby but we had booked a two bedroom house. She was not willing to work with us unless we intended to pay more money. We were very disappointed we would NEVER share a home with strangers. It was not kept up
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional - Nice clean cottage Having to pay £10 per night to have a dog
- C (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christine (4/5): not as expected, disappointing - Didn't have breakfast It wesn't made clear it was shared kitchen and garden space. Bathroom on ground floor accomodation is through the kitchen, not the best when sharing the kitchen diner. The other couple who stayed one had an allergy to pets. We both thought we were booking self contained accommodation. Our bedroom ground floor next to busy main road into the village, neither myself or dog could settle so I left the premises at 11.30 pm ont he day we arrived and drive over 90 miles back home with dog. My husband stayed and left early the next morning. It should be stipulated to all visitors about the dog ad shared facilities. Fridge in kitchen door doesn't close properly, dish cloth was left soaking in bleach in sink on arrival, not good as the cloth contaminated cups etc. Garden was not secure for dog as he could get through the passageway to the gate which was difficult to close, so he could escape. Luckily I noticed before letting him out.
- Tara (10/5): Charming cottage in a quiet neighborhood. - Charming cottage in a quiet neighborhood. Surprisingly close (by car) to the high street in spite of being in such a quiet neighborhood.Everything my family needed. Friendly staff.
- Rosevic (8/5): Very good -
- Dionne (9/5): Superb - Such a beautiful, cute little cottage I would suggest that the owner put a full length large mirror in the property somewhere.
- Valerie (5/5): Passable - To get to the bathroom you had to go through the hall and kitchen. On booking.com it says private bathroom but doesn’t make it clear it is away from the bedroom
- Mike (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jackie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dave (6/5): did the job for us after attending a local wedding - nice self contained cottage, especially if there is a family using all 3 rooms that the accommodation was shared. We had the 2 upstairs bedrooms but were apprehensive getting up early in the morning for the guests downstairs in the other bedroom who had to get to their bathroom through the kitchen that we were using to cook breakfast.
- Ian (9/5): Lovey spacious cottage like a home from home. - Very comfortable bed and all very clean. Nicely set up kitchen with everything you could need to cook a meal. Lovely bright sitting area and also a courtyard. Very helpful owner. We were fortunate to have the place to ourselves but otherwise we would have had to share the bathroom which isn't ideal . This said it's excellent value for the money
- Lewis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Todd (9/5): Quiet, tidy very comfrotable stay near RAF Mildenhall - Super comfortable bed. Tidy room with bathroom and shared common areas. Quet despite being on the street and next to a pub. Recommend for a getaway or if working nearby. Not a thing.
- Robert (9/5): Important for a 5 day trip, was easy to settle in straight away - Well presented, great location, easy check in and out
- Jane (8/5): Nice clean room. - No breakfast room only, the bed was comfortable, the room was clean and homely, it was convenient for my trip. The room was advertised as having private facilities, which was correct and very clean, but it failed to mention that it was separate from the room and across the kitchen, the facilities were lockable,
- Carolilne (6/5): Sleepless in Bell Cottage - Lovely cottage, comfortable bed, clean linen and towels. Plenty of clothing storage. Kitchen well stocked and clean (although I was visiting family so didn't use much). Quiet location unfortunately spoilt by other guest. Bedroom was next to communal kitchen/lounge which I had to cross to get to my personal shower/toilet.
Unfortunately, also another guest was working evenings so I was woken every night when they returned, switched on TV and prepared food - twice this lasted until 03:00 the last night I was lucky as was Midnight.
- Andrew (8/5): This was a lovely place to stay where I was left to enjoy my self catering heaven. - No breakfast provided - made my own in the property kitchen which was a good place to self cater, all be it shared. This was a property and location I liked very much - no issues - so everything was good.
- Łagodzki (10/5): Exceptional - The owner was a very welcoming and easy to talk to woman. She really made our stay a pleasure, especially after the fact we lost put keys 2 minutes after leaving the room. We found it quickly though. 😅
Highly recommended.
The only thing I'd say is the angled walls in our room were quite low, so mind your head. Nothing.
- Scott (10/5): Very fitting and pleasant stay for purpose - How cosy it felt and the classic design was lovely. N/A
- Martin (9/5): Stay perfect but having second random person staying there wasn’t what I expected !!! Wasn’t impressed - Ideal for the purpose for what we’re using it for Found out it was a shared property… some random person came downstairs in the morning with keys also
- Shane (10/5): Exceeded expectations. Perfect accommodation for many occasions. - Everything exceeded my expectations. Check in was smooth and easy, even though I arrived late at night after the check in time. The room was great and I loved how I had direct access stairs from my room to the shared kitchen (shared with one other room). Everything was so much better than expected. Smooth, effortless stay 😊 There really is nothing complain about, but I guess if pushed for an answer, my only grumble is that the WiFi was pretty bad (poor signal), I guess that would be important to somebody staying that needed to work from the cottage.
- Neil (8/5): Clean, comfortable. Great sleep. - Bed, linens & pillows were excellent. Kitchen well equipped. Watch out for the wonky stairs! - just remember its a house of history and character.
- Carrie (8/5): Loved it - Was clean, owners were very efficient, and accomodating to our needs Nothing
- Kate (7/5): It suited me fine for a short stay to get to know the area. Definitely need a car - I hadn't taken in that it was a shared space with open access to the stairs to the rooms above and shared kitchen space and I had my dog with me which made it a bit tricky but otherwise all good. Only the above and it was my fault for not checking properly
- Maria (8/5): Very good - Its was a nice location poeple were very friendly. The fact that we had to share the cottage first and second night was alright. I was a bit worried about Herby meeting another dog within our short stay. Unfortunately, Herby has been attacked in the past and gets anxious around larger dog's. Overall the facilities were great and cleanliness was good.
- Emily (9/5): Superb -
- Gerard (7/5): Good - Our bed was far too low for people with mobility problems. Same for the stairs.
- Todd (10/5): It is a very nice cottage and I highly recommend it! - The cottage was very nice and very comfortable. It is done to a very high standard and the location was perfect for my trip.
- Rory (9/5): Superb - Lovely room and cottage. Shower was great, Nothing
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional - We loved the Cottage and said it was like home from home.
It was very comfortable, clean and tidy.
We said that we would have been happy to stay longer. Nothing springs to mind.
Couldn't fault it.
- Leo (10/5): Warm welcome set the tone and everything was perfect - Friendly welcome and great location for my needs Nothing
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Derek (8/5): Comfortable - The landlady was really helpful and accommodating. The cottage was clean, well equipped and quiet.
- Tracey (9/5): Superb -
- Brian (8/5): Very good - Easy to find and easy parking. Very clean Only negative was having to walk through a shared kitchen to get to my bathroom
- Kevin (10/5): Lovely cottage - Very nice host, and very clean accommodation.
- Kozlowska (7/5): Nice stay - Very nice host, great location in a peaceful village. Close to pubs and not far from shops. Cleanliness was an issue, bathroom and kitchen in desperate need of a deep clean. Very hot during the night.
- Lee (8/5): Very good -
- Cousins (7/5): Would recommend, but only if you're very short, or you can remember to keep your head down. - Host was very helpful, calm and thoughtful. Cottage was very quaint, full of character. Garden was lovely. Dog very friendly. 20 minute walk to Sainsbury's. EV chargers nearby. I banged my head twice on a low doorframe, my wife once. Banged my shoulder a couple of times on low ceilings. I'm not tall. This was a problem. We were put in a different cottage due to problems with plumbing in Bell Cottage. This was fine, but some notice would have been nice.
- Tina (9/5): Lovely cottage stay - Lovely cottage great location for Forest Live concerts in Thetford. Very comfortable bed.
Would definitely stay again. Unsure of check in procedure mix up of communication. It didn't spoil our stay shame it was so short.
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Robert (9/5): All we needed in a well-priced package - Comfy bed, friendly phone call ahead of time to explain access. Lovely no fuss stay
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Chris (9/5): Cosy, quirky village cottage with all home comforts & a friendly owner. - A lovely quaint self-contained cottage close to local amenities & ideally located for our onward journey. Comfortable & cosy with everything you could need. Personalised phone contact from the owner when we were on our way to the cottage, as we were due to arrive slightly later than the latest check in time, which we really appreciated. Nothing. Everything was lovely.
- Derek (8/5): Very good -
- Trevor (6/5): Essex boy - This apartment was very nice. A shame about the land lady
- pete (2/5): Horror - Two beds used linen on both front and back door open no one there no information at all no contact number did not stay.
- p (4/5): Disappointed - I was really looking forward to the stay.
Unfortunately on arrival the room was not available due to a septic tank problem. I was also told that the room advertised wasn't as such so i was really disappointed. I was provided with a sub standard room in the main house with the owners who weren't exactly welcoming or apologetic.
Had to share a bathroom which always seemed to be occupied.
So all in all very disappointing.
I would advise travellers to call in advance to make sure everything is still available as advertised.
- Jo (10/5): Fab B&B - experience with Expedia was poor. - Booked obviously through Expedia. They provided the wrong address, and location. To top it off they never informed Sian who owned the B&B that we had booked, she was out for the evening and we had to wait for her to return to get in. Sian was very apologetic although it wasn’t her fault, the stay was great, if we are ever back in the area we will stay with her again. Never using Expedia again.
- Jc (10/5): - Had a great week with my fiancé, never saw the person we we’re sharing the cottage with and was able to have a romantic get away.
