- Neal (10/5): this was a lovely place and great people, i will definitely return again - service was amazing N/A
- Gary (10/5): Value for money, well looked after. - There was personal touch to the service I appreciated. A pack lunch was provided and an ironing board at my request. Everything you could want was supplied and everything was very clean Only criticism is that the decor is a bit dated but the service, cleanliness and facilities more than made up for that.
- Gordon (10/5): -
- Charles (9/5): -
- Amber (10/5): - That it was very clean and staff was very helpful all the little goodies was amazing didn’t want to leave
- Daryl (8/5): - Staff were kind and welcoming It was a little cold at times.
- Gary (8/5): Good location and value for the money I paid - Good location comfy room
- David (8/5): Staff great, food great - Staff exceptional. We had dinner and drinks and the food was super. The room was a bit tired, some wallpaper hanging off the ceiling but it was clean an and warm and for one night we have no real complaints at all.
- Gary (10/5): Fantastic staff and great food - Fantastic staff and great food

- Malloyal (10/5): - Context: This is a small non corporate hotel, so no megabucks owners!
Like many similar hotels in an ideal world, it could benefit from a face lift it is, however, spotlessly clean and well looked after.
The guest is at the heart of everything they do and I got the impression nothing (within reason) would be too much trouble.
The little breakfast box in the fridge is a wonderful idea .
The Hotel is VERY Dog friendly and your furry friends will be very well looked after too. We went elsewhere for dinner with friends instead of just staying here..
Blind in room didn't roll up could use more natural light
- Demi (10/5): People are lovely, great with dogs and food is amazing - Lovely quirky little place
- Philip (9/5): Great. - The place was perfect for our needs. Staff were super friendly and dogs were very welcome. Food was delicious and the rooms were exactly what we expected and needed.
- Maureen (7/5): I would thoroughly recommend the Albert hotel and if back in Peterhead would definitely stay again - The owner was so gracious and generous. She has put her heart and soul into her hotel and it’s a fabulous mix of period fixtures and modern art and artefacts. We had dinner there and the food was delicious with a great choice on the menu. All staff were very welcoming to our two dogs. Unfortunately the hotel is close to a public house which was noisy until break up in the early hours and then the seagulls took over as it’s breeding season but it was a Saturday evening.
- Clark (6/5): -
- Kaz (8/5): Very good -
- Ian (1/5): Would no go back! - No breakfast The room could have been cleaner!
- Sandra (6/5): Ok - Fresh Milk on Room , Plenty tea and coffee It was dirty , stains on bedding , mirror was dirty , fridge around the edging was very dirty , overall pretty unclean
- Duncan (10/5): - Lovely friendly hotel.
The staff could not do enough to make my stay comfortable..
Very homely hotel.
Walking distance from centre,
With free street parking right outside,
- Graham (9/5): Luxury - Lovely comfortable spacious room.Luxury bed, slept like a log..Good friendly staff and great hotel. No hot morning breakfast.
- Graham (8/5): Brilliant stay, but no hot cooked Scottish breakfast !! - Enjoyed a nice relaxing stay in the Albert Hotel in excellent big room with fridge to store food and drinks.I missed the previously excellent cooked Scottish breakfast but once you get round that, sandwiches ,fresh fruit , yoghurt, cheese and biscuits all there in fridge with cereal and milk.Superb location, Peterhead football ground very handy one direction ,town centre and bus station 200 yards the other direction.Good and helpful staff and ideal. The lack of a cooked breakfast was still a huge disappointment. Can remember superb breakfasts at Albert Hotel front dining room years gone by Would have got 10 out of 10 with traditional Scottish cooked breakfast. The clue is in the name,Bed and BREAKFAST 🍳😊!! Still good to stay and enjoy Peterhead again..
- Brown (9/5): Excellent - Friendly staff and made to feel very welcome Nothing
- Steven (8/5): Very good - Handy location, very friendly staff. Food was good and a packed lunch was in the fridge for you in the morning.
- Maree (10/5): Absolutely great - Owners went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.
- Douglas (8/5): Very good -
- Cheryl (10/5): Quaint, cozy, welcoming and very enjoyable. - It was quaint, charming. Just what I expected from a small hotel in a small town Scotland. We loved it! From the details of the china displayed all around, to the boxed breakfast in the fridge , right down to the coal burning fire place in the dinning room and the bar. The staff was exceptionally friendly all around. They even had the chef accommodating my gluten free needs so I could have Peterhead fish and chips! We visited family in the little bar/pub area, it was comfortable and enjoyable. It was walking distance from the bus station, which was really helpful. There was a brewery near by that had gluten free beer and wonderful people to meet. It was a nice older property but very clean and well kept. Would absolutely recommend it! No I can’t find anything to say that I didn’t like.
- Evenden (7/5): Everything was good, staff good - Never had it Everything was good
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lorraine (4/5): Basic - Good central position in town Cold. poor shower and couldn’t get t v to work
- Jennifer (3/5): Needs a big do-up - Staff very pleasant . Good sized room The room is in desperate need of an update. The blind didn't fit the window, was too short. The towel rail in toilet was hanging off, lots of cracked tiles in shower. Really creaking floorboards. Just old fashioned and done.
- Ian (7/5): Good for a short stay. - Perfect location on Queens Street. Most places of interest were within walking distance. Plenty eateries near by. Hotel had a restaurant if required. Breakfast was left in the fridge the day before. Although the room was of a good size, the four poster bed seemed to swallow up a lot of the space. It also could have been done with at new mattress, rolled into the middle of the bed. The noise from the Station Pub next door at night, some rather loud rowdy people, but that wasn't the fault of the hotel.
- Karen (10/5): - Nothing as everything thing was spot on
- Lorraine (10/5): Exceptional - It felt very homely. Staff was very friendly. It is a victorian building and I think the decor suits the building. It may not suit everyone's taste but I loved it One problem was the toilet was very temperamental to flush
- Stacey (1/5): Nightmare - We had 3 staff staying here for one night and they were disgusted by the condition of the hotel. One room had large visible water damage and mould on the walls and the guest had to be moved to another room. One guest sat on the bed which collapsed and he had to fixt it. They all complained about the cleanliness of the hotel. We will not be back The hotel was in a poor state, visible wet walls and mould. It was not clean and the furniture of very low quality
- Hamish (6/5): Pleasant -
- Carol (6/5): - Reception only open from 10am closed at 10pm but on 2 occasions all locked up early n before 8pm Sunday couldn't get a drink or anything between these times area outside hotel not great n didn't want to venture out as a single woman at night
- Mark (2/5): Don't - Nothing at all would not recommend this place Very old dirty nothing worked needs updating all over the buildings
- Toms (9/5): Definitely recommend - I stayed there one night to escape from daily routine, had few drinks and stay was amazing from staff to facilities and room Long walk fosmoke and seagulls doing their business on the roof as I was top floor
- MARK (4/5): - I had a 7.5 tonne truck. Rang before hand to check if there was parking was told yes not a problem. When i arrived at the hotel was told to park in a bus stop which is illegal i had to park my truck in a side street away from the hotel so was on pins all night. Nice hotel shame we werent told about the park issues before we booked
- Nicholas (9/5): Superb - The location is very central and just a five minute walk from the bus station. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. The hotel is quite old fashioned, but I like that. Room was spacious and very quiet so I slept well. There is a cosy bar with a nice open fire. All in all an enjoyable and comfortable stay The food for dinner was tasty, but the portion sizes were too small for me.
- Michael (10/5): - The friendly staff
- Fiona (7/5): Good -
- Paul (10/5): - Room clean. Bed comfy. Shower worked perfectly. Staff were lovely. What more can you ask for less that £60
- Lynsey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jemima (6/5): Pleasant -
- Alexander (8/5): Comfortable accommodation with convenient location. - Great central location - good for taking a stroll around the Toon. Room was spotlessly clean. Traditional Scottish vibe. The room was well equipped and breakfast was provided.
- Mcmillan (8/5): Very good -
- Christine (4/5): Disappointing -
- Boyle (8/5): REALLY ENJOYED STAYING HERE - REALLY FRIENDLY STAFF, NICE ATMOSPHERE, GOOD BEER. NO COOKED BREAKFAST BUT A COLD TYPE BREAKFAST WAS IN THE FRIDGE IN OUR ROOM.
ON STREET PARKING, SO YOU MAY HAVE TO WAIT FOR A SPACE
- Ross (7/5): With just a little effort my 6/10 could be a 8/10! - Friendly welcome, nice staff, good sized room, comfortable bed. Very reasonably priced. It’s a little dated inside and needs to be cleaner. Window in bathroom wouldn’t close shut, shower controls are old and need replaced. Not sure about the pre-boxed breakfast/sandwich in the room fridge.
- Lavinia (8/5): - The Albert is an old property but the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, bed comfortable and water hot. These things, for us, are mandatory. We did not expect breakfast boxes in our room and were most happy to receive them. Breakfast is cereal, juice, yoghurt, cheese & biscuits and freshly cut fruit. More than adequate. On the second morning we even had a cheese sandwich which we saved for lunch! Wonderful to have tea and coffee making facilities too. WiFi was good and the hotel is quiet. We sat in the bar on the second evening and then had a delicious chicken and ginger soup for dinner in the restaurant area. Very reasonable prices. The hotel is within walking distance to the main shops and cafes. Parking is on the street out front and we had no issues with it. Thank you for a comfortable stay and the wee treat on checkout. Most unexpected.
- Jayne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Liam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephen (4/5): - Flea bitten all over body definitely room 3 at this hotel
- Zee (10/5): Welcoming hotel, great location - A warm welcome, clean hotel with very friendly staff. We were in Peterhead for a funeral so the circumstances were very unfortunate but our stay was comfortable. There was no car park but lots of places to park on the street outside.
- Sean (9/5): Superb - Excellent location, friendly and welcoming from the minute we got there, great service
Great food and own bar in hotel made this a great trip
Will definitely be back
- Burggraaff (7/5): Good - Friendly personnel, fresh fruit breakfast, bar in hotel Showerspace very narrow, curtains not dark enough
- Ann (3/5): won’t be back - clean and staff were nice arrived when weather was around 75 degrees to find heating on full in room took around 2 hours for it to cool when turned off
window and blinds didn’t close so sun streaming through window by 4am
seagulls nesting outside window screeching
I was told breakfast was cereal and milk and orange juice in fridge in room
no orange juice or milk in fridge
woke at 3:36 by birds and sunlight
- Helen (9/5): Superb - cosy and friendly
- Isobel (9/5): It is just like being part of the family - Enjoy the fresh items in fridge in my room .giving me the choice of what I require Nothing every thing w was excellent
- Kevin (10/5): - A quiet and impeccably run small hotel in the heart of Peterhead. There are sweet touches throughout, comfortable beds, and a surprisingly complex menu in the beautifully appointed dining room. An in-house pub with a warm fire place is a cozy finish to the often wet and chilly evenings in the town.
- Earle (10/5): relaxing and very enjoyable - central, friendly, great food like everything
- William (9/5): Superb - It was suitable for the occasion It’s not suitable for disabled people.they didn’t do breakfast
- Jennifer (4/5): Disappointing - We attended for a family function which we enjoyed. The facilities are tired.
This is the second time we have used booking.com and again the hotel accommodation was poor we wont use you again.
- Isobel (10/5): Will certainly be staying in the Albert again not only both my husband and Myself ,but also my pet D - I was very happy with the use of items in the fridge in our room to make our own breakfast in fact. They were very generous with their variety of items
Room was always cosy and welcome Staff could not do enough for us really felt like home from home I don't think you could have done better with the service and food all round excellent condition really welcoming from the moment you enter the door until we left
- Sean (8/5): Very good -
- Iain (10/5): Friendly Oasis - What a pleasant place to stay. The Albert is a bit old fashioned but that's what gives it charm. The restaurant is really excellent and not too pricey. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth trying.
- Isobel (8/5): Very enjoyable hoping to go back within the next few weeks - Breakfast was ok but I would have perfect something not Perhaps the bed a bit bigger my husband feet would have outside bed if he had been with me
- Earle (9/5): Superb - Excellent Breakfast and Dinners All good
- Alastair (6/5): - This is an old and very tired hotel which needs some proper investing and updating. The room was cool and that’s not good in the winter time. They did bring me a space heater. Woke up to wind blowing through the window. They brought in a joiner to fix it that day. The floors on the 2nd floor hallway are uneven and I felt I was going to fall through them with my luggage. Was moved to another room the next day and it was fine. The showers are approximately 24” x 24” and not the best to use. The smell of the carpets on the main floor is bad and off putting. Smells like food fried years ago. Saving grace the staff are friendly and do very much care. I was hoping for the quaint Scottish Hotel Experience and unfortunately was very disappointed. The smell was so bad, I couldn’t eat at the hotel.
- Sandra (5/5): Comfortable - Evening meal was delicious. Did not have brekfast The bathroom was very tatty. Dirty torn wallpaper and could have been cleaner
- Kevin (8/5): Very good -
- Agnes (10/5): Exceptional - The hotel itself was very homely and the owner and staff were so friendly and helpful. Meals were excellent. Location just a short walk to the bus station and the price was very reasonable, definitely recommend. I can't say there was anything we didn't like about the Albert.
- Dugald (8/5): Very good -
- Tom (8/5): Very good -
- Lynne (8/5): Very good -
- George (5/5): Passable -
- Ian (8/5): Despite my negative comments I would stay here again. The hotel is quaint and quirky and we were made to feel very welco - The hosts were very welcoming. The heating. Unfortunately the room was cold but that may have been due to my late booking. Perfectly understandable to have turned radiators turned down these days when rooms are empty.
- Niel (8/5): Very good - Clean and tidy, nice size room. Very well looked after, very helpful and considerate staff.
- Hawkins (8/5): Staff were very friendly. Food was good. - Location was fine . Hotel was a bit daited and could do with upgrading.
- Michael (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sigurdur (9/5): Superb - Small and old hotel. About as much feel at hone as can be. Warning everything creeks but that just adds to the allire. Owner and staff are over accomodating uf anything (have received less service in 5 stars) would reccomed to everyone
- Mr (10/5): The Albert Hotel was nice and what you'd expect and the staff were all very helpful. - I don't have a breakfast as my appetite kicks in about 12noon,So I make sure a have a couple of mugs of Coffee. The big TV was nice as it went with the size of room.Shower could have been a tad hotter,Free Wi-Fi was good just like the comfortable double deluxe room, nice and comfortable the room was well nice and warm. The Hotel was a ,5 min walk to were we were going,so all in I've no complaints The Albert Hotel we would stay there again Hot water in the shower.
- Ian (10/5): A very relaxing stay made even better with helpful staff. - Room was a good size, food was excellent, staff were very helpful, friendly, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and relaxed. Nothing.
- Foxcroft (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (7/5): Good -
- Kate (10/5): The most comfortable and welcome hotel - So comfortable and welcoming. The staff Ashley and Emma Louise were particularly kind and went out of their way to make sure I was happy ! Very good value. Had only planned a one night stay but stayed for 3 in the end. I will definitely be back. I’ve stayed in countless hotels over the past 2 years as I walk the coast of GB and this is my favourite!
- Darren (10/5): Great stay! - Amazing little place for staying, the room was great! And the food! Wow! 😍😍
- Frances Anne (8/5): Autumn weekend in Peterhead - There was a friendly welcome waiting for us at The Albert Hotel. Check in was smooth and staff were lovely. Our rooms were the family ones and were certainly spacious and clean. They had some useful perks such as a small kitchen sink area with a fridge and a small sofa to sit on rather than the beds. Our dogs were given lovely water bowls and having them there was no hassle at all. The rooms had some lovely traditional features and were fairly well decorated although some of the paint was peeling a bit. The shower room was basic but perfectly clean with plenty of fresh towels, toiletries etc. We had dinner in the restaurant on the Saturday night and it was delicious - the chef came up with special meals to cater for our dietary needs with no fuss at all. Sadly the restaurant did not open for meals during the Sunday and Monday so we couldn't have a cooked breakfast which we would have liked. We appreciate that with very few guests and current staffing difficulties this wasn't possible. However, we were left boxed breakfasts, fresh milk and even a complementary round of drinks from the bar as they weren't opening it on the Sunday. We would certainly stay again if visiting Peterhead and would just advise future visitors to double check what facilities will be open before they arrive. This is a cosy little hotel with a friendly, homely atmosphere.
- Ian (10/5): Visit during Covid Pandemic - Very friendly staff working exceptionally hard to keep safe practices during the Covid 19 pandemic.
I felt very safe and confident in their hygiene regimes. The room was very clean with Sanitiser spray and disposable cloths in the room.
The restaurant tables are correctly spaced and all have hand Sanitiser on them.
The meals were great quality, lovely choices, nice and hot with some really good home made touches.
thoroughly enjoyed my stay and had to extend a fourth night and this was no trouble at all.
Highly recommend this location if you are looking to stay in or near Peterhead!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff were very nice and friendly. Food was excellent and well presented. Room was warm and clean. Atmosphere was calm and welcoming.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Most friendly and accommodating. The quaintness is what I was looking for and got. The food service was very good and ample portions were served at a very reasonable cost.
