• Gary (10/5): - The location was simply perfect, with a lovely proximity to all the eateries and amusements in the area, as well as the walks and scenery. Our room was clean, warm and spacious and we all slept very soundly (better than at home)! The breakfast was perfect, exactly the right amount to kickstart our days with a lovely selection too. The hosts were so kind and hospitable and went above and beyond to accommodate us, as well as give us great advice and information about the local area. Would absolutely recommend!

Paula and Shaun were excellent hosts: greeted us on arrival, fed us well and shared local knowledge of things to do, where to walk and places to eat etc etc. We would definitely recommend.

We couldn’t have asked for anything more. We had a delightful couple of nights here and very much enjoyed the breakfasts. We would definitely return and recommend to anyone who wishes to stay in Matlock Bath.

Location for Heights of Abraham, Matlock Bath centre, Gullivers theme park and bus links was perfect. Loved it and would totally recommend it here especially for families.

• JOHN (10/5): Could'nt fault it. - Ten out of ten all round. Lovely building inside and out with very friendly and attentive hosts. Great central location with great river views from our room. I'm a big lad and like my food but the breakfast was more than enough for me and seen both me and the wife right through to our evening meal. Already looking at Matlock Bath for next year and we'll definitely be staying at The Ashdale again. Highly recommended.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Truly wonderful - We had a fantastic three night stay. Stunning location with loads to do in walking distance. The room was beautiful and huge. There was a scorching heatwave when we stayed but the room didn’t get too hot and the bed was so comfy that we still slept well. Lastly, the hosts are wonderful. The breakfast was delicious and they’re so knowledgable about things to do in the local area. Thank you very much for a lovely stay.

• Roger (10/5): Great base from which to explore - Just booked as a stop-over on our journey south. The hotel is set in an attractive location, well maintained and the room we had at the front was large, with the most comfortable king bed! We opted for the cooked breakfast, which was more than sufficient to keep us going for the rest of the day. Would certainly recommend and suggest it would make a great base for exploring the area. Unfortunately we couldn't stay longer, but maybe we'll come back another time.

• Carol (8/5): A great little B&B - Sean and Paula are great hosts and have refurbished the house to a high standard. We stayed in room 2 which overlooked the river and had the monkey puzzle trees outside, beautiful room and very comfortable. The area has some great walks and sights, but we felt Matlock Bath high street was sad - full of chip shops and amusement arcades, we thought a bit like Blackpool inland! But the guest house was great and we would definitely recommend if you were passing through.

• thenuttygirl (10/5): Lovely Hotel - This was a lovely hotel right in the heart of Matlock Bath, the couple that owned it was really helpful and couldn’t do enough for you, they served a lovely breakfast in the morning that set us up for the day ahead, we would definitely stay here again. 😀
