Guest Reviews
- Robert (10/5): - Great place to stay. Located near all the shops. Mr Lee was helpful with any questions I had. Will continue to stay here when I come back.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice and modern. Everything was clean and appropriate for price. The room was small and lobby was not staffed at all times (only negatives).
- Antoine (6/5): Hard to get quality sleep on that bed. - Most uncomfortable bed i have ever slept in at a hotel. Its was so hard i was thinking about sleeping on the floor for more comfort. Other than that the room was very clean and a 5 minute walk to the songtan shooping area.
- Barry (10/5): - My stay here was pleasant. The location is great and the staff friendly.
- fernando (8/5): - Good hotel
- Joan (2/5): - Staff is rude not help at all you will feel not welcome. Place outside is not safe. Room not clean floor sticky and shower amenities are half use.
- Isagani (10/5): - Professional staff. Clean facility.
- Gregory (10/5): - Staff professional, room very nice and clean, 10 minute walk to Metro, a lot of dining choices. True value.
- Kenneatta (8/5): Nice stay for solo travelers - Good location to Osan AB and the train. The room was clean and comfortable. I like that there were instructions to the remote and appliances. There were a lot of places to eat and shop.
- Jessica (2/5): - This was a giant dump, across from a junkyard, with rock hard beds, full of bugs. And I cleaned linens. it’s a residence also. So there’s garbage sacks all up and down the hallways and it reeks. the front desk isn’t full time and he’s rude and was spitting his fish in my face when I refused do sleep in a big infestation! Expedia refused do give me my money back also. horrible, deplorable place
- Verified traveler (8/5): - For a 3-star level hotel it was good. Good condition and quiet. Did not have the dining as stated in case one was expecting it.
- Adam (10/5): - Kind of like a studio apartment hotel. The room had a stovetop and washing machine which was very convenient and at a good price. The room was clean and the staff very friendly. I will stay here again when I return.
- Matthew (2/5): Cannot recommend - Front desk was rarely staffed.
Workout facilities were not in hotel.
Dining/Restaurant was not in hotel and was closed.
Room was very small.
"Kitchenette" in room had zero supplies
Departed after 3 days for what was supposed to be a 6-week stay for business.
Arranged through hotels.com, was NOT refunded after departing early (and speaking with hotels.com before hand), lost > $1000.
Extremely unhappy with the situation
- Valerie (2/5): - Please don't come here. The staff are RUDE (to both natives and foreigners). There also isn't ANY hot water. I asked some people on my floor as well and they also said they didn't have any. I stayed one night- thank goodness. Completely horrible experience. Save your money, do yourself a favor and stick with an ACTUAL hotel- not some converted officetel run by an angry potbellied man who looks at you with distain and no greeting whatsoever. I literally said hello to this individual 3 times and ended up calling the number listed for the "hotel". He picked up the phone call and spoke to the phone while I was standing there DIRECTLY in front of him. Such a bizarre experience.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Disappointed even though it was one night. - I do have photos but have decided not to post them. I was there for one night only, and overall it was just ok. If I had been there multiple nights I would have been very upset.
I understand that right now the occupancy rate maybe lower than normal due to covid, but it's not an excuse to give out dusty rooms, that were not cleaned properly. I found hair as well as visible clusters of dust. In my first room, the sheets had what looked like makeup stains.
I did ask for my room to be switched. The second room was still dusty but I had a test the next morning and was just to tired to from my long commute to deal with. I'm mentioning dust because I recently found out I'm allergic to it.
My suggestion is that you should close some of your inventory if you're not going to come in and give the room a wipe down every couple of days. Regular houses in South Korea accumulate dust very quickly, hotel rooms are no different. Also make sure to do thorough vacuuming, and if there are stains on the sheets that won't come out, please recycle the sheet.
I'll stop here, although there's more I could say.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Convenient. Across the street from a convenient store and two restaurants. Also walking distance of many other restaurants and shopping stores. About a 5 minutes walk of Osan air base. The room was small, but perfect for me for a weekend stay . I recommend this hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff was great, facilities were great. The only issue I had was the narrow roads and accessing the parking garage. I do not speak Korean. Which caused some difficulties. You have to press a button and tell them your room number. I wish I knew that in advance.
- REINIER (8/5): Very nice - This a newly renovated hotel. The room I stayed jn was very clean though really small and barely have room to move around. Complete ammenities made my stay more efficient Other than the room size, this is a good hotel to stay in.
- Candy (6/5): Dirty - Rooms were dirty with smears and stains on the walls. Bed sheets stained with hair on them. Weird smells. Hard bed. The breakfast we paid extra for started at 11am...so we didn't get to eat.
Nothing really good about this place besides the location.
- faith (10/5): - Always stay here when im in Songtan, very clean and comfortable.
- Jared (8/5): Great place to stay - If you are looking for a place to crash for a few nights, the New Songtan Hotel is a great choice. Close to Osan Airbase and local shopping. The room was really nice, but it is small. The bed was firm which I personally like. The comforters were really nice, but rather warm in the summer. My wife and I enjoyed our stay and would go back again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The only thing I would say is label parking and instuction on entering parking area.
- Rene (10/5): Clean, good area - Clean. Located in an area with lots of western food (near the air base). The New York pub across the road is really great with good prices too (discount for staying at the hotel).
The bed was clean and comfortable, the air con worked well, and there was coffee and water available.
- Yesy (6/5): Good price but always dirty - This is my second time staying here. I stay because their low price. My fist time the room was really dirty. My second time was not as dirty but found hair on sink and Floors were sticky and have black dust. Also found old meat in the mini freezer.
Balcony view is an old bldg.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Close to lots of great restaurants, bars and train stations.
- Tony (10/5): - The property is in close proximity to restaurants and stores. Also, it is very clean. The design of the rooms is much like a studio apt.
- Pak (2/5): - There were no kitchen appliances at all. I had to buy forks and spoons, bowl, knife, pot literally everything.
That alone cost me a lot. Other than that, it was just a mediocre hotel.
- Shane (10/5): Clean and Quiet. - Clean and quiet.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, close to Osan AFB and restaurants/bars. Great value for the price
- Verified traveler (10/5): - They upgraded my room to a larger unit. Room had a microwave, cooktop, small refrigerater, hotpot, and washer dryer combination. Can get breakfast at a cafe, laundry, and exercise room too. Close to a convenience store, local market with small eateries and fresh produce. Tons of reataurants and stores within walking distance.
- Verified traveler (6/5): New Sontang Hotel - The bed was very uncomfortable and the room was very small. Could barely pull out the chair from what was supposed to be a desk.
- Sergio (10/5): Slept! - Wasn’t here long enough to actually expirence anything other than sleep, I slept ok..
- Larry (6/5): Towels were stained - Has nice studio apartment features like a kitchenette and washer. Towels in the bathroom were stained, need to get new towels or clean them better. No hot water in the shower either. Parking garage was limited.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hotel was very nice and clean. We enjoyed the location as well. Parking in the garage can be a little trying if they are real busy but we always found a spot. The only issue we found was the water in the shower drained very slow. I mentioned it to my travel partner and he said his did the same thing. Hopefully this is something they can resolve quickly.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Was amazing loved it the only problem was that the front desk was not really there
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly, quiet, nice restaurant, newness and would use again.
- Mitchell (10/5): Impressed - I was very impressed with New Songtan Hotel. Extremely clean, comfortable and a great location.
- Ronald (10/5): Exceptional Experience - Fine accommodations and friendly staff...all thumbs up. Modern comfort within walking distance of amazing shopping area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The ladies at the front desk are always nice, and the hotel is in a good location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): They finally gave us an extra toothbrush. - They finally gave us an extra toothbrush.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Some rooms were missing microwaves - Some rooms were missing microwaves
- Verified traveler (10/5): No microwaves? - I believe my coworkers had microwaves in their room. I don’t have one
- Verified traveler (10/5): Missing microwaves? - Missing microwaves?
- ADAM (10/5): They know you well friendly service - They know you well friendly service
- Jessica (10/5): This is my go-to place to stay in Pyeongtaek - Small, very clean room. I've always stayed here when visiting Pyeongtaek, with one exception (which I immediately regretted and promised myself to always stay here instead).
Things to be aware of if staying for a long time:
1- there is a clothes washer in the room, but no dryer
2 - there is no microwave
3 - there is no iron or ironing board
4 - there is no fan for airflow during the colder months, and the room is heated by a heated floor.
The in room AC unit is EXTREMELY efficient in the summer time- it was a relief to come in from the hot and humid air outside.
The rooms are very clean, bathrooms are nice, and bed is fairly comfortable (westerners may find the beds a little hard, but these are the most comfortable I have experienced in my stays all over different parts of Asia). There IS a cooktop but you need to bring your own utensils and pots/pans if you intend to use it.
The coffee bags provided taste very good! Almost like brewed coffee.
There is a very small refrigerator in the room.
I enjoy staying here, and will again!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not the same room - Booked the same room type, like before, but this time it was different. I highly suggest to the manager to have four tiers of pricing, rather than three. Suites with a bigger room plus extra bed versus suit with just a couch
- Verified traveler (6/5): It’s not a hotel - It’s a residence place where you can stay for a night or two. Does not have care package for health and does not provide two toothbrushes
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Location is very easy to find and convenient place.
Around the hotel there are many shops and restaurants.
- Matthew (10/5): Great stay for the price - Great hotel easy check in and check out. Made same day reservations amd they went through with no issues. Will stay again.
- Jae (8/5): - This time everything is satisfied.
Good, convenient.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Room was great, but service was subpar.
