Guest Reviews
- molesinfrance (8/5): Great location. - Fabulous location. All rooms have sea views and balconies. Spotless with helpful staff. Restaurant closed on Monday arrival but cold dishes available which we found expensive compared to local offerings. Good choice for breakfast. Good WiFi throughout.
- Marina (10/5): A very enjoyable overnight stay - We had a wonderful overnight stay here. Beautiful location, on the seafront and by several small beaches. Lovely room overlooking the water. The hotel was well maintained and very clean. The staff made us and our two dogs very welcome. We also enjoyed an evening meal here and a very good breakfast. We would stay here again.
- swissgirl_7 (8/5): Beautiful location for this lovely retro hotel - We stopped for the night here and were charmed by the retro feel of this lovely hotel. The rooms are simple but comfortable, all with a view and balcony on the beautiful beaches and ample parking. Bathrooms are small but perfectly adequate.
We ate dinner here and really enjoyed our meal. The arroz caldoso was delicious, and the service was friendly and efficient. Only thing, which felt off was being charged 11€ for a tomato salad. But the location of the restaurant, literally over the sea front, was incredible.
I take one star off for breakfast which was pretty dismal. It’s a buffet breakfast, with minimal choices, supermarket orange juice, weak coffee, mainly industrial pastries, some ham and tomato, etc. just not up to the standard of the dinner we had. You can order proper coffee at extra cost, but we found that out for ourselves, nobody offered it.
COVID-19-wise, I didn’t feel super safe, although I think that might be down to the regional requirements at the moment. Buffet breakfast with so many people milling about, opening and shutting the doors to get inside to the food, touching the spoons, jugs, machines without using disinfectant felt quite risky.
However, we would definitely return, mainly for the location.
- JEAN-PAUL (10/5): - Séjour convenable cadre très agréable
- 788suep (8/5): Right by the sea - This is the second time that we have stayed here, the biggest recommendation I feel. You really cannot get any closer to the sea. In fact from the bedroom, you get the impression that you are on a cruise. The restaurant serves fantastic sea food. Really, really good food, and of course the best sea view. The rooms are simple but very clean. It is for the simplicity of the rooms that I give 4 out of 5. But I love it here and we will continue to use it as a lovely place to stay on our journey to Almeria.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Stunning location, like walking into an Agatha Christie novel. Lovely!
- annaner (8/5): Nice 70’s look restaurant by the sea - I’ve always fancied to try the restaurant since I have an apartment nearby but still love this 70’s resort look of the place. So my visit was only at the restaurant and though I cannot comment on the rooms or the hotel itself. At the restaurant, service was classic, professional and kind. They made the exception to cook a paella for only one person. Booking a table is recommended. Everything was delicious, I’ll be back for sure!
- F1373DSjuant (10/5): Amazing Hotel! - We found it thru TripAdvisor and when we got there we couldn't believe the place! We stayed in room 31, the room was literally on the water! It was like staying on a cruise ship! The sound of the surf was very relaxing and we enjoyed the tranquility and the view so much that we extended our stay. One day we stayed pretty much in bed, reading and watching the ocean.
The breakfast was excellent and the staff super nice. Definitely a highlight in our trip!
- Ostrea (8/5): Perfect - Really this hotel could not be better considering the price. The staff were attentive and pleasant, room was clean and comfortable with a nice shower. The view and balcony was really nice. Location right beside water was very calm, with the sounds of water lapping against the rocks outside so nice to fall asleep to. Very nice waking up to the dawn sun over the water and fish jumping. Close to town centre and nice restaurants, also hotel restaurant is very good. Breakfast served outside on terrace very good. All in all I liked it and will return.
- Jezza321 (10/5): A Hidden Gem - Juanito Platja Hotel is an oasis of charm and calm. Providing either a la carte or simple restaurant menu; the locally caught selection of fish dishes are excellent. Breakfast is cold meats/cheese with croissant, bread & beverages. Sitting outside at the cafe style tables, or eating dinner beneath the shade of the trees, listening to the sea & overlooking the lagoon is magic. Simple clean bedrooms all have a sea view. The staff are delightful & nothing is too much trouble. We will most certainly revisit for a longer stay in this unspoilt area of Spain
- DRF1739 (10/5): Family-owned, well-run, good value hotel with an excellent restaurant - The hotel/restaurant was recommended to us by another hotelier who knows the region well which tells its own story. It fulfilled all expectations. The staff (particularly Enrico) were very welcoming and friendly with good recommendations of things to do locally, the room was very comfortable and clean (not large by some standards, but perfectly adequate for a few days) with a great view of the sea and the breakfast was good. The beautifully-positioned terrace restaurant serves excellent fresh fish and other seafood. Swimming in the sea was very convenient. There is car-parking on site. It is a family-owned, well-run, good value hotel with an excellent restaurant.
- teap949 (6/5): Super location, basic room, bad wifi. - We had a ground floor room, the last room towards the outside of the building. WIFI did not work, dropped out constantly. When I asked about this, lady at desk said that in all of Sant Carlos WIFI is not good......nice excuse,I do not believe it.
Room is basic, no desk, airco worked well, shower was good.
After dinner I turned sick. We have had no other food that day somewhere else, but a cheese sandwich we took from home. All night terrible foodpoison. The next morning, still sick, we told what happened and the desk said it is impossible that it came from the steak and sauce I had.... We know better.
For us no return.
- Nigellabella (8/5): Lovely lunch next to the sea - We visited the restaurant at hotel Juanito today on a recommendation and weren't disappointed. Lovely terrace overlooking the sea and great fish and seafood. Slightly more expensive than other place we had eaten the last 2 weeks but really delicious. Staff were very friendly. A good little find.
- EnricJ (8/5): Family Hotel by the Sea. - The best thing of this Hotel is its location: directly by the sea with direct access to the sea and to 2 different beaches and to the heart of the town. Apart from that, its restaurant it is one of the bests in Sant Carles.
But it would need a little refurbishment to update it to current times.
Apart from that a great place for a refreashing break.
- 36xavierp (8/5): spending the night in front of the sea, like on a boat - this older looking hotel has a privileged location, right on the water's edge. The service is excellent and dinner on the shaded terrace makes the whole experience a dream vacation. Owners and staff are the kindest.
