Guest Reviews
- alfornoindia (10/5): had an excellent stay - Excellent stay and scrumptious food. Had a great experience.
It is easy to reach and has a beautiful lawn.
The breakfast provided was excellent.
Hosts are very welcoming.
Will come back to stay with my friends for sure.
- globalelitist (6/5): Great residential neighborhood and great hosts with average service - This is one of my go-to places when I visit Delhi. It's in a quiet, residential neighborhood, the hosts are very nice, and it's about a 10-minute walk to some nice cafes (near Hauz Khaz park). The common areas are quite nice. The rooms, however (at least the one I stayed in last) are very dank/stuffy with very loud, old A/C. The "western" breakfast is not very good, with white bread, instant coffee (as far as I could tell), bland egg & corn flakes. Basically, the cheapest of the cheap western "food". I highly recommend skipping breakfast and going outside, or bring your own food and use the nice kitchen upstairs. I also recommend to the hosts (who again are wonderful people) to improve the both B's in the B&B: better beds and better breakfast. At the least offer real bread--say whole wheat--or yogurt (plain) and granola (i.e., something at least a little healthy).
- Nitesh_Rajput (10/5): Good Stay - I stayed here for 2 days for official work. The location of the hotel is the main key factor for choosing this hotel. All other facilities were decent as compared to the standard hotel. And the customer service was nice.
- 574pradeepk (10/5): Great place - On a short business trip to Delhi, I stayed here for three nights. It’s centrally locates and easy to reach. The neighborhood is an upper middle class residential area and the property faces a small park and is calm and quiet. I had a room on the top floor which had a small shared kitchenette and a lovely garden terrace. WiFi connectivity is decent and the room itself is clean, large and comfortable. The hosts are friendly and helpful. Absolutely a gem of a place for Delhi.
- teanaciousleaf (10/5): Cozy and conveniently located - Love this place the host are very friendly, rooms have private shower/toilet, beautiful decor, and beds are comfortable. Location is great, 2 parks nearby, main road, sweet shop, and food are all within walking distance, less than 1-2km
- sharonv583 (8/5): First nights in New Delhi - Cool way to start our visit to India. A bed and breakfast - a real insight to living in an Indian home. Lovely breakfasts, recommend the masala chai! Simple rooms, no frills & clean.
Hosts were very helpful and were happy to assist. Good location, would recommend.
- netwebber (10/5): Felt like home - I have a business and travel to Delhi frequently. I operate my business mostly from where I'm staying, and Vandana and Pradeep were very accommodating! I had one of the rooms on the upper level by the garden.
It is a true B&B - breakfast is included; there's a choice between Indian and Western breakfasts, or you can request a combination. Western breakfast usually consists of an omelette, toast with spreads, cornflakes, and juice. The Indian breakfast has roti (bread made on the stovetop), fresh dahi (yogurt) made every day from fresh milk, achha (spicy pickle mix), and some other goodies. There's also a convenient office space to work in.
Dinner is available for a small extra charge, and there are also great restaurants a short walk away and many that will deliver through FoodPanda.
The bed wasn't as comfortable as you'll find in a five-star hotel but it was up to American standards and I slept very well. (I'm fairly picky.)
Safdarjung Enclave isn't great for nightlife, but it's a short auto-rickshaw ride away from more hip places like Greater Kailasch II and Hauz Khas Village. Safdarjung Enclave is a safe and quiet neighborhood. My only real problem is that if you need to leave late at night, there are limited exits from the community that are manned. (I had trouble when I departed for an early-morning flight back to the States.)
Vandana and Pradeep were SUPER nice and welcoming, and they had a fantastic array of interesting guests to chat with. Highly recommended for just about any travelers! (Probably not great for teens, but backpackers in their 20s and 30s who want to enjoy a little luxury and downtime from partying will find it very nice.)
- Abhay248 (8/5): Decent BnB in South Delhi - Stayed for 2 days in the last week of July, booked through OYO. The place is in a quiet area in Safdarjung enclave. Enjoyed the plush ambience of the well-maintained home. The breakfast was a standard fare as per OYO norm. The best part is that the house is open for the house guests day and night with a watchman around to ensure security. So no worries even if you come back late in the night. Will surely recommend for a south Delhi sojourn.
- Anilroam (10/5): --Next to Home-- - Cleaniness 10/10. Food 8/10. Staff 10/10. Owners 10/10.Rooms 10/10. Well maintained and decorated home. Its very near to all visit places. Metro is available upto green park. Ur family will enjoy. Not ideal for old as it is located on 2nd floor. Safety assured as the place is situated at well planned establishment.
- Amy_traveltheworld (8/5): Homely feel - We arrived late, and the owner was there to greet us and provide us with food or chai (which he had kept the chef back for us). The room was nice by Indian standard, especially Delhi. The room was clean, comfortable and safe. Whilst the room was not as modern as western world expects, for Delhi it was very quite and relatively clean. The service was lovely, breakfast made to order and location central. Thank you will return again.
- Erdene1966 (8/5): Pleasant stay at Vandana's B&B - For our trip to India in January 2017 GIZ recommended us Vandana's B&B and we booked for 4 nights. It was very clean and nice place to stay. We enjoyed our stay at Vandana's and happy to recommend to other travelers. Pradip and Vandana were very helpful to us to recommend places to go and see in India. Only thing is there were no sign outside and you have to ask locals how to find this place.
- woaizhongguo (8/5): Helpful Hosts - A bit far away and not easy to find but if you get there it is a good, clean and safe place. Vandana and her husband are especially helpful. Breakfast is included, but if you ask they will prepare excellent dinner (for a price).
- MegMDB (10/5): Wonderful welcome to New Delhi - My husband and I were a bit overwhelmed when we arrived in New Delhi, however we couldn't be more grateful that we booked a room at Vandana's. The room was spacious and clean and comfortable, and our hosts Vandana and Pradeep treat you like family. They are incredibly helpful when it comes to booking travel, calling taxi's, and planning and navigating your visit to Delhi. We arrived quite late at night (around midnight) from HK, and the taxi driver could not locate the building for nearly 30 minutes, but once we found their phone number they answered the call (despite the late hour) and helped the driver drop us off, and again even though it was late they helped us to our room and got us set up. The breakfast is prepared for you whenever you are ready to eat (they have a western option with omelettes and an Indian option, all with delicious coffee or chai). The top floor rooms are the nicest, given that they are very private and open up directly to the roof garden. The main floor rooms are also nice and spacious, but the room right next to the kitchen can be loud in the morning with guests eating and coming and going, so if you like to sleep in then ask for a different option. In all though the house is in a great location, central to many of the sights and also a quick commute from the airport. Vandana's set's a high bar for B&Bs.
- christinesZ5672PO (10/5): FAVORITE stay in India - A must! - Vandana and her husband MADE our trip to India. They were SO helpful - they cared so much about making our time in India relaxing, fun, and comfortable. They really went above and beyond. I traveled in a group of 6 and traveled all around India. My first stop was in Delhi at Vandanas Bed and Breakfast. I had an absolutely incredible stay that was better than everywhere else I stayed in India. Vandana and her husband were incredibly responsive over email, answering all of our questions in advance of the trip and helping us to set up reasonably-priced, safe transportation from the airport. They helped us with currency exchange, planned our itinerary for 3 days in Delhi, and always made sure we were safe and getting the best price for every service. The breakfasts at Vandanas were DELICIOUS, relaxing, and available anytime we woke up. Their chai was my favorite I had in India, and their India breakfast (Paratha) was fun to try and very good. The room was spacious, clean, and the right temperature (access to AC). There was a lot of common space to relax in - including a gorgeous garden terrace with a great view of the city. I love, love, LOVED Vandanas and will definitely stay again / recommend to others.
- 127adelem (8/5): Very clean and spacious - We stayed for three nights when we first arrived in India. The location is quite a way from the city centre (10km), so it's a bit annoying as a tourist to have to travel every day. But the surrounding area is quieter and less crazy than much of Delhi. We were there with our son and there is a good playground just around the corner. There is no street noise and we were able to sleep well, unlike previous stays in paharganj. We would have appreciated a bit more communication when we checked in, eg that there is Indian breakfast as well as continental available, what time for breakfast, how to turn the AC on, that we needed to switch on the hot water to heat up before using it etc. It's not that easy to find and showing the address to taxi drivers didn't seem to help. I would recommend staying in the upstairs rooms - much more private and a view over their little roof top garden.
- Samiksha1221 (10/5): Missing Vandana's bed and breakfast already - This was the first time we opted for bed nd breakfast in delhi , as we didn't want to spend more just for a normal night stay and most of the hotels in Safdarjung were either too pricey or didn't have basic clean room amenities
And we were at delhi specially for India Spain Davis cup ( my hubby hard core rafa fan ;) , Safdarjung was a good location very near to R.k Khanna stadium
I was not very sure if this was the right decision but as I entered house in scorching delhi summer all doubts vanished and I knew I was in the right place
It is such a beautifully decorated home , loved every single decor of the house - hats off to the choice of owner
We got terrace room which is no doubt the best and has more privacy
But even downstairs room was good with a small balcony (but try to get terrace room )
Fridge and kettle provided in common area of terrace room and in individual room downstairs
Room are beautiful , clean and well maintained
Sleep quality was awesome
Breakfast was yummy but they can increase variety in breakfast but I under stand it's not a proper hotel so limited items expected
In all it was a wonderful location , home and stay - home away from home
And I am already missing it 😀
- bdstephen (8/5): North India home style stay - A beautiful flat near parks and a major university has been turned into a bed and breakfast. While it's hard to find, it may be worth the trip if you're looking for a little home away from home North Indian style. Individual rooms with private bathrooms are all air-conditioned. and while there are two sitting rooms and a small dining room, those common areas are without A/C. if you want a treat, have the North Indian style breakfast: aloo paratha (fried bread stuffed with potato) with yoghurt and Indian pickle. But if you have children, cannot climb three or four flights of stairs with your luggage, or need to pay with a credit card this place is not for you.
- cctatravel (6/5): Friendly Hosts - A lovely family runs this place, and it is relatively affordable for Delhi. But I have to say that I was a bit disappointed with my stay. The air conditioning made the whole room smell a bit gross (moldy?) and the bathroom was really pretty dirty. The whirlpool tub had a lot of wear--- rust, cracks, etc. and the room was just a little worn. The staff serves an American breakfast (omelette, white bread, jelly, cornflakes, juice and coffee) that is basically inedible. However, I have to say that this is essentially the identical breakfast served in most guesthouses I've visited, so I get the sense that it is par for the course.
- Omar_Maximo (10/5): Really enjoyed my stay at Vandana's BnB - We were a large group of people (11, all students from the US) with different personalities, traits, and charismas, however, this place brought us all together - like a family. This is the magic of India. We all shared beautiful and amazing moments in our 2-week stay that none of us will never forget. The staff at Vandana were amazing: Roger, Ashis (I hope I spelled this right), and the rest all cared about making our stay as pleasant as possible, always with a smile or a simple "hi" every morning, which made our days begin off to a great start. Talk to Roger, he always has something to say. He's one of the most interesting folks I've ever met in my life, and can tell you everything about his beloved India. The rooms were comfortable, with 1 king-size bed and a cot, a TV, AC, bathroom, and plety of decorations, which made them really colorful. I always felt safe leaving my stuff in our rooms, whenever we had to go out. They serve continental breakfast every morning, and a lot places can deliver too. They also can cook for you for a modest price, which I think was the best part - nothing beats home-made Indian food. The BnB is really close to the main avenue, which makes it easy to hop into motor rickshaws and move around the city. They have a little patio on the top floor, where people can sit and relax (see picture attached). Overall, our stay couldn't have been better, and really recommend this place for future travelers. India had a huge impact on all of us, which will always be delineated by a "before" and "after" India in our lives.

- Goan44 (10/5): Shudh Homely 5 Star treatment - I chose vandana's B&B as I was looking for a homely stay in delhi with my wife. As I must say that my choice this time was perfect. Vandana's B&B will surely make you nostalgic and every bit of your stay will be shudh homely. The host family is ready to help you and the any thing you need is a call away. The environment is homely as its actually a home. The park opposite give a rejunevating energy and market is few minutes walk away. Great stay in delhi if you are looking for peace of mind with a homely touch.
