• Heidi (10/5): Great breakfast, great location, would recommend! - Really great location, and the owners are lovely. They let me check in early as I was getting into town with a big suitcase earlier than 4pm. My room was a great size for a single room, sometimes a single room feels like you've been put in a converted airing cupboard and forgotten but this was a great size. Breakfast was delicious - especially the black pudding. They also have a drying room for rainy walks and a place you can writing any big routes you're doing in the day in in case of emergencies. I would absolutely stay again and highly recommend. The bathroom in the single room has steps in - if you're a glasses wearer think about this before you go to the loo in the middle of the night. (This is a user error warning) Don't expect your room to be made up with hospital corners every day, it's more of a quick cleaning during your stay kind of place. Not a negative in my mind, I prefer that. But a heads up in case you're someone who expects clean towels every day.

Breakfast was good good choices and quality cooked fresh to order. Great location for the town, bus stop and walks. Amazing views from the room and good hospitality tray bottles of water an added bonus Shower was temperamental and fluctuated between cold and really hot no steady temperature. Small gap in the door let the landing light shine through which I covered with the dressing gown provided as it stays on all night Slightly early check out 10am

• Thomas (10/5): Insgesamt ein große Empfehlung in einem zwar sehr touristischen, aber richtig schönen Ort! - Das war insgesamt ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt der meine Erwartungen übertroffen hat, es war sehr gemütlich und ein schöner Ort um sich von den tollen Wanderungen in der Region ausruhen zu können. Die Gastgeberin war sehr nett und sehr hilfsbereit und hat jeden Tag die Wetterbedingungen und die "chance of cloudfree peaks" auf eine Tafel geschrieben. Vielleicht, dass man kein take away food mitbringen sollte, wegen des Geruchs, aber ich sehe das nicht als richtiges Problem an. Die Stadt ist jetzt keine richtige Empfehlung für Leute, die Angst vor Hunden haben: Mindestens 2/3 der Leute haben Hunde dabei.

Lots of local information available for activities , places of interest, public transport times along with weather conditions for those walking or climbing. Parking can be difficult at times, but it's a very busy and popular area so was expected.

• Winstanley (10/5): Little gem of a find - Dolly Waggon was a little gem of a find, we were on the top floor and the room was very spacious, tea & coffee supplied, and bottled water. The bed was huge and very comfortable and the bathroom was ample too. Dressing gowns provided too, but it was a bit warm for those 😄 Breakfast was delicious, everything you could wish for, cereal, fruit, yogurts, fruit juices, toast and the full English breakfast 😋 would definitely stay here again 😊we parked right outside the hotel and the walk into Keswick is about 5 minutes away, just perfect 😀 Nothing

Bright, comfortable, welcoming and with a hearty breakfast, this delightful guest house was everything I needed to feel safe, comfortable and at home during my first solo adventure. The room was clean and well maintained with a good selection of tea and coffee; the shower was modern and user friendly; there was an excellent selection at breakfast; and after a long day's adventuring the room there was no better place to spend a peaceful, cosy night recharging.
