The room was nice, but it needed more furniture and storage space - great view. The pool on the first 2 days was a horrible colour and not something we could swim in. The reception staff were excellent and friendly, but the breakfast staff (particularly the female staff) were very miserable. The quality of breakfast food was also poor. Bacon wasn't real bacon, baked beans were flavourless, and Marmalade was not real and lacked any flavour at all.

- Oliver (10/5): - Das Hotel ist ein hervorragender Ausgangspunkt für Tagesausflüge in alle Himmelsrichtungen der Algarve. Auch die unmittelbare Nähe zur Innenstadt von Alvor ist großartig. Bei den Zimmern mit Meerblick sind Alltagsgeräusche inklusive, weil das Hotel an einer viel befahrenen Straße liegt. Unseren Aufenthalt haben wir trotzdem genossen!

Bedroom was cleaned almost every day. Very comfortable. Nice to enjoy views from our balcony. Room has safe and fridge, as well as tea/coffee etc. Breakfast offers everything! Cakes and pastries - hats off to the person who bakes these. 🌟 Poolside bar menu includes pizzas, baguettes, burgers and toasties as well as both soft and alcoholic drinks. Sangria is recommended. Thank you again for an excellent stay.

The hotel is clean and as already mentioned staff friendly and very helpful. Their breakfast was a surprise. A lot better than we expected. And quite a large choice. The room we had was suitable for our stay and had a nice sea view. (And graveyard) I would have given a 5 but this was the first hotel I've been too where a kettle and cups have been supplied. But NO coffee or tea etc.provided.also the bed was the most uncomfortable. The pool area had a nice bar where snacks were available. The reception bar was limited. Short walk into town. Pleasant hotel but due to the bed wouldn't stay again

- martinhD2086US (10/5): My third visit and I'll be back - This was my 3rd visit to Alvor Jardim and I will continue to use it when visiting the western Algarve. Great location in Alvor (most "Alvor" hotels are in the high-rise strip towards Praia da Rocha, some way out of the town itself); good value; clean, comfortable rooms; small but sunny pool area; and consistently friendly, helpful staff. Cheap, well-stocked Pingo Doce supermarket just round the corner, so you don't have to rely on over-priced tourist shops when stocking up for snacks and picnics. Mostly very quiet.

- Breda (7/5): Nice clean and friendly establishment in the heart of Alvor. - Great location, very clean and nice friendly staff. The studio we stayed in was tiny, and overlooked the car park. The balcony was in the shade most of the day and a Bit chilly. There was other apartments in the front of the building that got the sunshine most of the day. Would definitely ask for one of those if we book again!

- Navigator01767294920 (10/5): Fabulous Friendly Hotel - Lovely friendly hotel. Staff are professional and friendly. My room was spotless and very comfy. There was a lot of choice for breakfast. The staff ensured that nothing ran out. Check in was quick and easy.

Hotel well positioned for all amenities, reception and breakfast staff speak excellent english and extremely helpful. My room had everything i needed plus kettle & cups. Some tea bags & milk provided on request. Was without any view ( over a paved area that backed onto a private residence)and located in what i think was a staff area, however not a problem for me extremely quiet and spotlessly clean..comfy bed and satalite tv and a fridge. Breakfast was a treat always a hot option plus all usual cold offerings all beautifully presented.highlight was the warm from oven portuguese custard tarts and the beautifully presented orange slices along with other fresh fruits and warm fresh bread buns... pool area was clean and well maintained. Bit cold for me to use in february but lovely area to sit. would recommend this hotel as very central. Pleasant easy walk to harbour and beach..

- happiestonholiday (10/5): Great hotel, friendly staff - Alvor is one of those places where you can walk for miles without realising it, as it's so beautiful. There's always somewhere to stop off for a coffee, drink or meal whilst destressing just watching the sea or inland, people watching but off season, it's not a place to find much nightlife. Stayed here early February. 4th floor room with a full, if distant, view of the bay and estuary across the rooftops. As per other reviews, cutting across the carpark opposite and down to the right of the cemetery is a short cut to the main walkway with restaurants etc and down to waterside. Our room was lovely and bright with full width patio doors and glass balustrade on the terrace, so could still see the view lying in bed. Buildings opposite are lower level so no obstruction from 4th floor. A big, comfy bed, excellent bathroom with efficient walk in shower, fixed hairdryer plus a mini fridge and kettle. As per other reviews, no drawer space but lots of shelving and hanging so not a problem for us and the room safe was digital, set your own code and free. Breakfast was really good selection of continental, cereals, fresh fruit and cooked items and a coffee machine that did good 'cafe com leite', all served between 730 and 1030. Large car park at the rear of the hotel and a nice pool area, although as it was rainy, the furniture wasn't yet out for use. Good walk downhill to the left and past Intermarche takes you to the boardwalk at the 'highrise hotel end' of the 3km sandy beach, wear comfy shoes or trainers as the cobblestone paving generally in Portugal can be challenging for those with mobility issues (or anything but wedge heels) and can be slippery when wet, which it was whilst we were there. Loads of bars and restaurants in Alvor, something for everyone, although quite a few were still closed in early Feb, we stil ate lovely meals at reasonable cost. Overall, would definitely stay again.

- Beatriz (8/5): Great value, comfortable stay. - Front desk staff was exceptional. Room and bathroom clean and modern. Ample breakfast assortment. Very good value for the money (February). Will definitely go back. Breakfast host was far from warm and fuzzy.
- T6427GDlaurap (10/5): A fab little hotel - We had a lovely time at this hotel just after Christmas, it really is a great spot in Alvor. The rooms aren’t the biggest but they are kept immaculate and cleaned every day and on our arrival there was water, sweets and biscuits waiting for us which was a really lovely touch and much appreciated. Lovely sea view too. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice, but what makes this hotel special is the staff, nothing is too much trouble always a smile and a hello when you see them and a little chat if they weren’t busy with others. Its location is ideal as your only an 5 minute walk from the main part of alvor with all the restaurants and shops there is a supermarket a couple of minutes walk away also which was very handy. Also a massive thank you for getting my necklace back to me safely! We were on the way back to the airport when I realised I’d left my necklace on the bedside table!! I rang the hotel once I got to the airport to let them know and they sent all the details to fill in to arrange for it to be sent back so after a few weeks of waiting it finally arrived today I’m so relieved to have it back as it was a birthday present from my daughter. So thank you again for getting it back to me and for a wonderful stay we’ll definitely be back again soon ☺️

- Beatriz (7/5): no es un hotel de 4 estrellas - personal muy amable Es un hotel con 4 estrellas pero en mi opinión debería tener 3. No hay rampa para las maletas en la entrada con varias escaleras que hay que subir. Las habitaciones no tienen una nevera para guardar algo para comer ya que no tiene restaurante. Solo hay un minibar vacío y que no enfría. La habitación no tiene ni un cajón para guardar tus cosas. La ducha se llenaba de agua enseguida por drenar mal y tampoco se puede tirar el papel higiénico por el wc, que se que pasa en muchos sitios pero no en hotel de 4 estrellas. Para entrar a la piscina tienes que pasar por la ducha y pisar dentro del agua ahi estancada de la gente.

Walking distance to old town, harbour area, with lots of bars and restaurants very close by and a Pingo Doce supermarket around the corner. I very much enjoyed my 3-night stay here. Fridge, Kettle and cups in room but no tea or coffee?

- Graham (10/5): Lovely hotel and would stay again - Room was plenty large enough for the two of us and was always nice and warm. Breakfast was not a huge choice but what there was was very well done. The toaster is a waste of time and needs to be upgraded.

- Dan_Jackson198 (10/5): Christmas get away - I stayed for 3 nights, arriving on Christmas Eve. Staff who I encountered were very friendly and helpful with directions. Breakfast was a lovely spread of meats, cheeses, boiled eggs (hard),fruits juices and a hot selection, along with a self serviced coffee machine. My room, 219b, was perfectly adequate for a solo traveller, excellent shower with shower gel and shampoo, lots of wardrobe space, a fridge, for those who need it - several English speaking TV channels, and a very comfy bed. Nice touch of a bottle of water and a Christmas cookie. The hotel is on a slight incline, but nothing too exhaustive. During the summer months there is a shuttle bus to the beach - this has a 5 km boardwalk - it is excellent. I didn't use the inside bar, but it seemed stocked with most well known spirits. I'd definitely stay again.

- Ilse (9/5): - Ich bin krank geworden und die Rezeptionistin hat uns immer sofort geholfen und war sehr mitfühlend. Wir haben ein ruhiges Zimmer bekommen. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist sehr gut. Alles wurde laufend aufgefüllt. Der Frühstücksraum im Souterrain ist nicht so schön.

- meltoadhall (10/5): Great little hotel, would return - Arrived mid morning, easy booking in, got the keys to our room and informed about breakfast. We had bed and breakfast with an apartment room. The lift is tiny, two people and their suitcases is tight, we used the stairs mostly. We were in room 306, with balcony overlooking the pool and a nice view of the town and surrounding hills. Everything we needed was in the kitchenette and the room and shower room was clean. Everything as seen and described on the website. Breakfast was the cooked hot option, cereal, fruit, yogurt , breads, cheeses, fruit juices, meats and pastries. There was also a drinks machine that did very good hot chocolate. The staff were friendly and spoke good English. While there was no information about Alvor in the room, there was a folder and leaflets in the lounge area. The pool area was very clean and although it was too cold to use on this visit I’m sure it would be lovely in the summer, we did sit out on the sun beds on the warm days . We would recommend this hotel and would stay again

- N9878WWdianel (6/5): Lovely location - Spent five nights here with friends. Location is good, only a five minute walk from bars and restaurants in Alvor, and the seafront. However, the pool bar was closed fir the season, which I think should have been mentioned on the information. It's a four star hotel which I think isn't earned. The daily room cleaning was great, with clean towels each day, however the glasses and cups weren't replaced for the duration of our stay. The "bar" is part of the reception, but it didn't have atmosphere at all. I appreciate that it's November, but the fact that it was warm enough to sit by the pool, everyone should be aware that the pool bar was closed. Breakfast was good with plenty of variety, and all the staff were very helpful and friendly. We would return to Alvor, but not the hotel.
