Sabillon (7/5): Relaxing - The property was beautiful and the rooms were newly redone The house keeper did not come daily. In a 8 day stay they came 2 times and had to be requested. The initial day we were there the room looked freshly cleaned however the beds were dirty when turned down. Staff were quick to rectify the issue which was great

All of the staff were so kind and accommodating, the area is beautiful, and it was a treat to walk around the property and the surrounding neighborhoods. We opted to have chilled champagne in our room, and it was delicious and ice-cold upon our arrival. The room was comfy and the porch with rocking chairs had a great view of the water. The restaurant is also amazing, don't miss getting your meals here. We would definitely stay again on our next trip to Maine!

Teresa (4/5): Not ideal for 1 night passing through. - Location overlooking the water. A very long drive from the main road for 1 night stay, especially if arriving after dark. We had to carry fairly heavy luggage up a narrow flight upstairs. No blow dryer in the room. The restaurant was unexpectedly closed the next morning for breakfast, one thing that drew us to the property.

El personal del hotel encantador desde la llegada. Desayuno muy agradable en comedor con cristalera y vistas al mar. Zona de terraza ajardinada para tomar algo con vistas al océano, y embarcadero... muy especial! Y un precio imbatible comparado con el resto de alojamientos de la zona en Boothbay Harbor, que está solo a 15-20min en coche. Deseando volver el año que viene un par de noches más, ha sido un verdadero descubrimiento y un remanso de paz. Las habitaciones de la planta baja tienen vistas al mar pero con los coches aparcados justo delante. Si se aparcaran en otro lugar, las vistas serían todavía más especiales. Mis padres tuvieron la habitación de la primera planta y las vistas son increíbles.

754donn (4/5): A Property Past its Prime - The good - great location right on the water. Decent restaurant and bar. That’s the good parts. Now from the not so good parts. This property is OLD. And has not been updated. Our room was musty with a capital M. The floor slanted so badly we ended up sleeping the opposite direction. HVAC system sounds like freight train. Bathroom is smaller than a cruise ship. Left after one night of my two night reservation that was prepaid. Could be a great property if it gets a major renovation. I won’t be back until then.

Carola (10/5): PERFEKT - Eine wunderbare Unterkunft in traumhafter, ruhiger Umgebung; man fühlt sich wirklich im Paradies. Für jedes Alter geeignet - für alle wird etwas geboten. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber, modern eingerichtet und haben einen wunderschönen Ausblick aufs Wasser. Das Haus (die Häuser) sind zwar alt, aber gepflegt und voller Charme. Das Restaurant bietet fantastisches Essen und eine tolle Atmospäre. Ein Ort zum Wohlfühlen. Wir waren schon öfter in der Boothbay-Harbor-Umgebung und kommen immer wieder gerne - auf alle Fälle wieder ins "Bluebird Ocean Point Inn". Lediglich bei vollem Haus sind die Parkplätze (mit den zusätzlichen Restaurant-Gästen) etwas knapp. Ansonsten gibt es nichts auszusetzen.
77LAH (10/5): A Little Piece of Heaven - Location of this place is totally amazing! The views are spectacular! Clean and comfy. Jim and his team are just wonderful. We were there for a short time but quickly felt like we were totally welcome and felt like they were friends. I can't say enough about that. They want to make your visit a delight in every way. Also meeting Penny and Nickel was the topping of a wonderful weekend! The Kitchen, part of the inn serves up good food and service. Their season is coming to an end, but def put them on your agenda for next season! Many thanks again and keep up the great work! It shows! Winter well!

jennacI7400KD (10/5): Romantic Getaway with Dog - I just love the Bluebird!!! My husband and I went 3 weeks ago for our mini honey moon, and it was the absolute perfect location. We chose this Inn because it was dog friendly and allowed us to bring our 60 lb puppy with us. The service was excellent; all the staff was so kind. The food from the restaurant was amazing; I know people go to Maine for the lobster rolls but I am still dreaming of the burger we had! The grounds are beautiful, with so many places to stroll and sit. The room was clean and the perfect size; we had a king bed with a little breakfast nook, very cozy and romantic. We also had a shared porch with rocking chairs. It is right on the water, so the surrounding area was just so wonderful. Also super close to Boothbay Harbor and very easy to get around. If I had to give it any feedback, it would be that the rooms need one more lamp or just a little more light, because it got quite dim at night. Definitely did a deal breaker though and we are already planning to go back next year for our 1st anniversary!

slinde77 (10/5): It was just supposed to be a pit stop to Canada. - We were heading up to Canada taking the scenic way and decided as it was late to stay in Boothbay. Through an app. I found the Bluebird. Quick click click and viola. It was the greatest choice. As it was late we went to the restaurant, lobster stew (bisque), was excellent. Low key and excellent food. People were outside by the fire pit kids and dogs and I eyed a table with s’more’s fixings too. The room was clean, didn’t need my Lysol, comfy and with a balcony overlooking the water. Best part of it all was waking up. The view and sun, it was just perfect. And excellent friendly staff too!!! We will be stopping there on our way back!

Beautiful water views and nice amenities including lots of adirondack chairs and tables from which to take in the sunset, a nice pool, games (pool, cornhole, giant jenga, horseshoes...) and firepits. The staff were fantastic and the restaurant had very good food at moderate prices. The rooms are clean and comfortable and generally in good shape. The downsides were very minor, including a sticky sliding door and a somewhat loud AC. We look forward to coming back again.

929mattp (2/5): You’re in the Army now! - We were booked for 3 nights and left after 2. The tiny “deluxe king” (room 324) we were in had an overwhelming musty smell and cobwebs on the wall, as well as smashed gnats on the shower tile. The “resort” looks like a World War II era Army base (and may have been one in a former life). The bathroom was oddly laid out, icky and very tired. Ignore the pictures on their website. They don’t accurately reflect the current condition of the facility. Even the shower head droops, which is somehow a perfect metaphor for the rest of the place. Reception area was swarming with flies when we checked in, which should have been a red flag. The “resort”restaurant was also in the same building. We chose not to eat there any of the 3 nights solely because of the fly situation. Staff was hit or miss. The lady who checked us in was very nice. The guy who we inquired about changing rooms with the next morning didn’t seem too interested in our issue. I chose not to use the heated saltwater pool, the “resort’s” primary amenity, largely because of the run down and unclean state of the rest of the place. This “resort”, more accurately described as a budget roadside Motel 6 style accommodation, is VERY GRIM. Bulldoze and start over. I’d rather sleep in my car before spending another night in this place.

charlesrU8384OT (10/5): Wonderful early fall visit. - We stayed here for 5 days in early September 2025 in an ADA compliant room. Handicap parking was available right at the base of the ramp to our room. It is a very old property (so some rooms can be small) but in good condition with an excellent location on the water. It was a quiet place even though it is dog friendly. Our porch had two very comfortable rockers and a good view of the water, harbor, and ocean front located chairs and picnic tables. There is a road between the Inn and the shore but very little vehicle traffic but lots of walking traffic, many people walking dogs quietly. Every night we saw a beautiful sunset as we ate dinner. Every meal we ate at the restaurant was well prepared, served and enjoyed. Every table at the restaurant had a view of the water and sunset. One piece of advise is to book direct to get the best room choice and price.
Julie (6/5): Come for dinner and the view but don’t stay here. - This is the second time that I've stayed at this Ocean Point Hotel. I really enjoyed my first stay—which occurred before the hotel changed ownership. The local is wonderful—that hasn’t changed, but the rooms changed from light and airy to dark and gloomy. The furniture in the hotel room I stayed in changed from light and in the spirit of maritime New England, to under lit, with a black ceiling and modern furniture that was uncomfortable and a bit dangerous. The lighting was woefully inadequate—low level lighting via wall sconces at the head of the beds and a single light bulb in the ceiling that was of low wattage. We tried to heat water for tea and the area where the kettle was situated was so dark that we couldn’t see to pour the water and ended up spilling it. The bed platforms extend beyond the mattresses and making it far too easy to bang one’s shins. There was a corner banquette in my room with a pedestal table. Unfortunately , the pedestal wasn’t weighted sufficiently to anchor the table and a slight bump caused my tea to spill. The shower door covers only half the shower—causing much of the water to spill into the bathroom. I won’t stay here again, but I may drive out to the restaurant as the restaurant food is really excellent and the view was superb. The bartender was extremely pleasant and provided great service as we were seated at the bar for dinner.

Gregory (10/5): Beautiful setting, cozy room, wonderful restaurant - just about perfect! - The setting is as picture-perfect as you could ask for, exactly what you'd expect from a low-key inn on the Maine coast. The room was great, too. What impressed us as much or more than anything was the restaurant... it would be easy for an inn located well away from other services to try to get by with a mediocre dining facility, but as wonderful as the setting was here (and the restaurant took full advantage of it), the food was absolutely worthy of the location: We had a wonderful dinner, including some excellent wines, and the pancakes we had for breakfast may have been the best we've ever had. The sliding screen door for the room's sliding glass door was essentially inoperative, but at least the staff was aware of the situation and said they intend to replace all of the sliding doors as soon as they can. It wasn't a major problem at all.

Kaschardt (10/5): Beautiful and Hip Coastal Retreat - Everything was perfect! The location- in a remote, beautiful coastal enclave- was gorgeous. We loved walking around the peninsula and seeing the ocean from different vantage points. As for the hotel, the rooms were chic, comfortable and clean! We loved our oceanfront balcony where we watched a storm roll in while we sipped wine and sat in comfortable rocking chairs. We cannot wait to return!

The service was highly attentive, but also very casual and comfortable. It felt like we were staying with friends. We really couldn’t have asked for a better set up as the location allowed us to explore a bunch of small towns, while still retreating to quiet at night. I would enthusiastically recommend this to everyone and am already thinking about our next stay!

Hotel has a fantastic restaurant on the property serving delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner. There is a bustling bar, fire pits, lawn games and even s’mores! Hotel offers quaint cottages to rent, has a beautiful pool and free parking! Very happy with our stay!

NorthStar15072203172 (6/5): A let down - We were excited for our stay as the place looked great from the photos but sadly it does not live up to what is shone at all. We were sadly disappointed in our room and the ace in general. The room was poorly laid out, the furnishings cheap and not well thought out and not in good shape. The bed stuck out at the corners and both of us came away with multiple bruises and stubbed toes (which for my husband is not good as he is diabetic and that can be extremely problematic). The floors leaned every which way and it was beyond noisy from the people in the room above us. There isn't any mention of the fact that there is a room above you... The food was ok, when we checked in for dinner we were shown to a table near the bathroom and asked for another table with a bit of a water view and the hostess actually gave us a bit of a dirty look. The servers were odd - seemed like they barely cared and hard spoke to us. The place is across the road from the water - just so you know as that isn't really described. There are a lot of kids, making it hard to rest and relax in the chairs by the water. The best thing about the place is East Boothbay itself which is gorgeous. We would not stay here again. :(

The kitchen is also good and the tables outside by the bay also create a cosy ambiance. Rooms are good, but website pictures are a little exaggerated. Also room cleaning service is a little erratic. They would forget to clean and would need be reminded.
