Guest Reviews

- Adyn (8/5): Best back packers I’ve stayed at ! - The staff were amazing, always willing to help, and I met some of the nicest people ever at the landing pads, with a huge variety of cultures which was great to see. As well as the kitchen facilities provided made most nights a lot easier to prepare food. Despite the large quantity of showers, there was only 1 that I used out of 3 that I fit into / I could manage the temperature control on it. And for my room, we were provided a large set of drawers for clothes which was very helpful, but it unfortunately made it hard to move around my bunk, often bumping my head (was not worried about waking up roommates).
- Josephine (10/5): Great staff, great guests and very nice location. Super familiar - also for long stay - Nice people and nice stuff. ideal for solo-travellers

- Chelsea (9/5): - Amazing place to find your community. Probably the most social hostel I've ever stayed in. You'll inevitably make friends sitting outside or on the couch!
Bathrooms and kitchen are cleaned daily.
You get assigned your own space in the fridge and a cubby to put your groceries. Staples such as salt, oil, rice, pasta, baking ingredients, and much more freely available.
Room 3 (female dorm with balcony) has plenty of dressers to put your stuff away. Nightlight for each bunk.
The area is great, so many amazing restaurants, pubs, cafes and thrift stores just around the corner.
Definitely stay here if you are new to the area and looking to make friends. And especially if you're doing a WH (most of the guests are in the same boat and are happy to share tips and support). Mattress was a bit hard but not too bad.
Showers ran out of hot water at times.

- Fiorella (10/5): I loved Brunswick because of this hostel. It’s great located. - It’s not a hostel, it’s a shared house 😊
- Neir (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nathan (9/5): Superb - Great community. I booked for 1 week and ended up staying almost a month.
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emma (8/5): Review - People, big community feel! Very close to brunswick shops and public transport. Tram and bus are 100m from hostel and train station is 9 minute walk. Good for working holiday travellers, as the staff are flexible with extending stays. Highly recommend!
- Nagrani (10/5): Nice place for long stays - Would recommend for long stays. Nice hostel with all facilities and amazing staff.
- Yunlei (10/5): I enjoyed my stay very much. Highly recommend it! - I stayed in Landing Pads for four weeks and I had a great time there! Staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. The place was kept cozy and clean. The other guests were respectful of each other and the house rules, and we had great fun with all the social events inside and outside the hostel! I definitely recommend Landing Pads to anyone coming to Melbourne!
- Mariah (10/5): Family vibes! - I've stayed in quite a few hostels throughout the years, but this is the first time I was in a place that gave me so much 'being home' vibes. Everyone (from staff to other backpackers) were very friendly and would always find a way to spend their time together. Location was also great, specially if you wanna enjoy what Brunswick has to offer. Special shotout to Guily and Lina for making mine and Mariana stay even more enjoyable. When I'm back to Melbourne, I'm definitely staying with Pads hoping I can meet some familiar faces again. Nothing really comes to mind.
- Indevall (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly and welcoming hostel, great community and comfortable. Very attentive to make improvements! Probs best hostel I’ve stayed at
- Talis (9/5): Superb -
- Jose (10/5): A nice place for staying - Almost anything from the hostal is amazing. People is nice, they have a cheap laundry/dry system, there is certain activities during the week and the beds are comfortable. They store lost objects, so you can recover them, the water system is good, and you have hot water for washing and bath. There are a lot of stores and supermarkets near the area, so, it's a huge advantage. Small details, the wash n dry systems need coins, so, if you don't have cash, it is hard to use it. The kitchen is a little bit small for the amount of people and some beds don't have curtains, but that's all.

- Tania (9/5): Just book it - I originally booked for 1 week…ended up staying over a month. It’s an older house with some cosmetic issues, but the homey feel and people made it hard to leave. It is a working hostel, so it was nice that they hosted a job seeker workshop to give some insight into what the Aussies are looking for. Made some amazing friends who were had the same relative goals and not party 24/7. Love the family dinner night and programming. Shout out to Arnie and his amazing spa night that was 1000% needed. The staff were cleaning warriors and Amanda has a killer work setlist. The pros wayyyy outweigh the negative, but the air flow sucked in the rooms. We had a balcony door so that helped a lot. It’s also a house so be prepared to have to wait for bathrooms at busy times. Also if you want to be close to all the action it’s 30min tram to city, 1hr to at Kildare, and 1.5th to half moon bay so factor transit $ in your decision, but you’ll love it. Just sit at the picnic tables and you’ll make friends in no time
- Lewis (9/5): I highly recommend - One of the best hostels I have been to the events throughout the week are a nice touch and especially the family cookout every Wednesday I hope to go again at some point nothing really
- Briotet (9/5): Great place if you want to meet new friends, feel like home, share tips and good times, rest and discover an exciting ne - Unique atmospshere, a great place to meet new friends, everyone bring something to the table ! The staff is helping, caring and efficient.
I felt safe and had a good night sleeps. I should have booked for two weeks instead of one but that’s on me !

- Dominic (9/5): Superb - Friendly people, place well organized and kept clean, best location in Melbourne. Horrible machine noise in room every night.
- Juliet (9/5): Hidden gem of a hostel - The best hostel I've stayed in so far. This is mostly down to the friendly and welcoming atmosphere that starts from the owner Matt and extends to everyone I met. It feels more like a big sharehouse than a hostel. The 5 bed dorm I was in was spacious with lots of storage and comfortable beds. Common areas were comfortable and clean, but a bit of a squeeze if everyone was around at once. Movie nights and family dinners were such a nice touch. I wish I had stayed longer and I'll definitley be booking again when I'm back in Melbourne. The only thing that bothered me was the cleanliness of the bathrooms. Not filthy but consistently dirty floors.
- Bernadette (10/5): Exceptional - really social hostel
friendly atmosphere no curtain for top bunks but that’s luck of the draw and you can move if one becomes available
- Orrin (3/5): Poor - the people were nice and the area was lively. the manager Matt was a strange and very unhelpful character. I would not stay again because of him
- Tiia-mari (8/5): Very good -

- Sara (10/5): Amazing vibes - I loved this hostel. I personally think it was one of the best I have been.
The staff was superb. Starting at check-in when Virgine showed me around nicely. Also the other staff (Redd and Ezra) are amazing people who make you feel welcome the moment you enter the hostel.
Moreover, the living room and the backyard is a big hangout spot to meet new crowds and build friendships, with for me as a solo traveler is one of the most important things.
I enjoyed the stay so much that I extended twice.
Thank you so much! The only thing I can think of: The WiFi needs a do-over.
- Kira (10/5): Exceptional - Halloooo. The best hostel in Melbourne by far it is like no other. The kitchen and bathrooms are cleaned every day. Virgie is a real schatzi - she is always approachable and happy to help anyone.
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional - Best hostel I've stayed in. Feels more like a house share rather than a hostel. Always clean, the staff are super friendly. Virgie always has a smile and is always around to help out whenever you need it. Brunswick is a cool area to live in, couldn't ask for more. Landing Pads is a home away from home
