- Atyria (10/5): - Ella is a dream and this property was so nice! The whole ambiance is beautiful and calming. They even have a garden on the premises. Our room has a magnificent view great for watching the sunrise. I opted to watch from outside near the garden. It was so magical to watch the Sun rise while listening to the birds serenade in the background and faint Buddhist chants growing gradually louder as the Sun came up! I highly recommend this property for your stay in Ella and wish we could have stayed longer. I almost did not even come to Ella but so glad I took the 7 hour train right to get here from Kandy. Very amazing place!
- Corinne (10/5): A little piece of paradise - This hotel was a little slice of paradise! I’m not one for spending too much time on the hotel grounds but this hotel was an experience in itself. One of the best views of Ella - right between Ella Rock and Little Adam’s Peak. One of the best sunrise views. The garden is beautiful as well. They offer yoga daily in the garden which was truly a highlight of our time in Ella. Staff was very friendly and accommodating helping us book drivers and activities. It was truly a treat staying here!
- Shital (8/5): - This property is situated on a beautiful hill where you can see sunrise just like from Little Adam’s Peak. Rooms are old fashioned train station themed, which adds nice touch. Free yoga session is nice addition. Reception staff is nice but the restaurant staff in the morning breakfast are not very attentive. Overall our stay was good, but with the price point of view Ella now has another amazing new resort nearby. But if you want to stay in close proximity to Ella town this hotel is best.
- sheromie (8/5): - I really liked how peaceful this place was with a great view. The English breakfast was not great, but the Sri Lankan breakfast was very good. And the Jacuzzi is nice to have, but it’s not hot. The room was great that I had with a view of Ella rock. But the bathroom doors were kinda like closet doors and made a big noise when you went in and out the people were very nice and helpful and kind. The location was a bonus cause you could just walk down the hill and you’d be right in the middle of restaurants and shops. Not far from the train station so you could easily go to see the nine arches Bridge, which is very cool.

Thank you all and others making our stay at Echo unforgettable. We have stayed some upscale hotels in the Ella area, but Echo is the best. We highly recommend this place.

The eco-friendly ethos was evident in every aspect of the retreat, from its use of locally sourced materials to its commitment to minimizing environmental impact. Accommodation options ranged from cozy villa alike rooms to spacious bungalows, each designed with eco-friendly principles in mind. Green gardens to supply for delicious dishes at the restaurant, while rainwater harvesting systems ensured efficient water usage. The charm of the accommodations was complemented by modern amenities, ensuring a comfortable stay without compromising on sustainability. - Dick (10/5): The Place to stay in Elle - If you want something special at Elle , close by the town , but far away to enjoy silence and nature , then is Ekco Elle the place to go . It is not cheap but after your visit you now it is all worth .
- PERRY (10/5): Fabulous retreat. - Fantastic hotel in a wonderful setting which is a short walk into Ella but well away from the busy town. Also a short walk from the station if you arrive by train. Staff are very courteous and always helpful. Thoroughly recommended.

- Tiffany (10/5): - Beautiful property! We stayed here for one night in January and I wish we could’ve stayed for more. Upon arrival, we got a complimentary upgrade to the room with the jacuzzi and it was so nice to have it - if I were to come back, I would book this room again. The room was a good size, clean, and in great condition. The amenities provided were nice. They had a pre-fix menu for breakfast along with eggs however you wanted them cooked, and it all tasted wonderful and was served in their upscale dining room with gorgeous views of the mountains. We didn’t have dinner there but wished we could fit it into our schedule since everything else was so nice. The staff was also very hospitable and friendly. Overall, the whole place was fantastic! The only suggestion I would make to the hotel is to provide guests with slippers or mop the floors after each stay - we did not have our own slippers so we walked around the room with our bare feet, and the floor was very dusty.

- Lisa (10/5): - We were so warmly welcomed from the second we arrived and were treated with such kindness until the moment we left. The room was absolutely perfect, spacious and immaculate. We had dinner, breakfast and lunch here and all was excellent. The service in the restaurant is outstanding. The view is breathtaking. You wake up and see the sunrise over the mountains from your window. We have traveled all over the world and truly have not received better value for $200 usd anywhere.

The grounds and views at this property are truly amazing. Pirhtnana was always there to assist us and all the staff was so welcoming and wonderful. Great location, just a short 3 minute walk into town. Would definitely stay again!

- Michael (10/5): - EKHO Ella is a great hotel, and I would definitely stay there again. The views of the high country from the garden are unbeatable. The public spaces are lovely, the staff is friendly & helpful, and the Sri Lankan food is perfect. (Note: in the restaurant you can opt for either western or Sri Lankan food). The hotel is within walking distance of town which made it easy to pop in for lunch or some shopping.

- Maya (10/5): Splendid, marvellous, breathtaking - When you enter the lobby you are in another world and as you go outside to the garden, this world gets even dreamy. The view from outside and from the room oversees little Adam’s peak and Ella rock. The food is delicious and the employees are very friendly and smiling all the time. We did book premier double room, Mountain View. The room is amazing!!!

- Stylianos (10/5): Excellent Ella hotel - Extremely happy with one of the “first class” rooms. The staff was friendly and helpful and also got a cake for my wife’s birthday. One of the best hotels in the area, near the center.
- Heather Anne (8/5): - Lovely place to stay in Ella with the most amazing views. We stayed in a suite which had its own hot tub and the whole room was a bit like a train compartment - very quirky! The bed was super-comfy and the food was fantastic. The room furniture was just a little tired - it could do with a refresh and also some of the lights didn't work but overall, this is a lovely place to stay for a night or two.

- Jane (10/5): - This small boutique hotel is one of the original rest houses of Ella, and has a prime location overlooking the gap and Ella Rock, making the perfect backdrop for stunning sunrises. Beautiful birds and other wildlife occasionally make appearances on the large terrace surrounded by a garden. The location is fantastic; walkable to the town but far enough away from the noise. The breakfast and service were fantastic. Note, there is no spa or pool at this hotel. Our room (108) was spacious and comfortable, and had an amazing view.

No comfy seats to sit on in our room just a garden bench.Our room was on the corner of the road. It sounded like the cars were in our room. I had asked for a quiet room. When I went to reception I was given ear plugs. Not the answer I wanted. The price we paid for this hotel is to high. You are paying for the views.Need to update the rooms for the price. All Staff was lovely.

The location is great too. Would recommend - but not for more than a couple of nights!

The staff were friendly and accommodating. The hotel is in a great location, a couple of minutes walk to all the restaurants and bars in Ella. We stayed in a deluxe room which was spacious and comfortable. Our only complaint was how much light the room let in because the windows weren’t covered properly...bring an eye mask! Other than that, we had a fantastic stay.
