- Cameron (9/5): - Well equipped kitchen
Clean facilities
Fantastic location
Comfortable lounge
Friendly team Nothing to not like
- Rodney (10/5): Excellent stay in an excellent facility. Good value for money at a very convenient Melbourne location. Hope to stay agai - Helpful check-in process, tidy clean room & facilities. Comfortable bed with spacious room and very good shower water pressure. The room key only secured the door handle lock and not the separate dead-lock.

- Michael (5/5): Cheap and basic, all that I was after. - The place was what I expected: basic and spartan, with few mod-cons. Therefore, you're not paying for these extras. Unfortunately, the hot water system had failed and the hotel was unable to get an electrician over the weekend. Not being able to have a hot shower was a negative.

- Jessica (8/5): On-site staff make this Hoddle St home. - Excellent staff on-site, very professional in their attention to detail, helpfulness, and welcoming. Being made to feel welcome, people taking pride in their jobs, and wanting to help you means real hospitality. The bedrooms and linen are fresh and clean, making for a stress-free stay, as are the bathrooms, kitchen, and lounge area. Things are clearly labelled, and the outdoor courtyard is a nice spot for morning sun. Two days out of four without hot water meant cold showers, with no acknowledgement or indication from the owner when it would be working again. I feel that whatever standard of accommodation you choose to book, a lack of hot water makes things unnecessarily difficult.

- Surendra (8/5): A comfortable and quiet stay in a great location with easy city access, though some facilities and the door lock deposit - The location was excellent, very close to West Richmond station with easy access to the Melbourne CBD. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet, with a good bed and desk. Shared facilities like the kitchen and verandah were also a nice addition. The bathroom felt a bit outdated, and the $50 refundable deposit required to use the room door lock from outside was inconvenient compared to other accommodations.
- Consider providing more information about the location of the additional bathrooms, as I only saw one in the common area downstairs and may have missed the others.
- You may want to consider not requiring a $50 deposit for the locker, especially for short-term stays, as guests may prefer to avoid additional upfront charges. An alternative could be to keep a backup key secured in a lockbox (similar to the one already attached to the door) and provide a copy of the key for each room. Replacement keys can be made at a low cost (e.g., from a key cutter or Bunnings), and left in the room for guest use. This approach would reduce inconvenience for guests, while still allowing you to maintain a secure backup key. It would also eliminate the need to collect a $50 bond in advance.
These are simply my suggestions based on my experience. I apologise if any of the feedback comes across as critical, and I understand that other guests may be perfectly comfortable with the current setup.
I would definitely recommend this place as it’s quite famous place for stay and right next to train
- Linus (10/5): Clean affordable housing with friendly staff in good location - Friendly staff. Cleaning every day
- Thalie (7/5): - Jardin/ terrasse, proche du centre de Melbourne Accueil, bruit du train
- Ryan (5/5): Short stay - Simple, hassle free Didn't stay long enough
- Kim (10/5): -

- SHUPING (8/5): - 交通方便,沟通畅通 卧室设施比较简陋

- Jackie (7/5): Basic accommodation, but good value for money. - Shout out to host Patrick who is welcoming, helpful and friendly.
Two minutes from the train station meant travel was easy and do quick to and from the city. The room was upstairs and on the side of the train station so was incredibly noisy overnight which made it hard to sleep.
- Taiga (3/5): - It looks nothing like the photo.
Such a scam.

- Bryson (1/5): I have slept in better conditioned jail cells than this place. -
- Craig (10/5): -
- Ros (9/5): -
- Devesh (1/5): Could not stay there was not up to a liveable standard for anyone - Nothing, the owner could be considered a slum lord Not clean and not worth $20 a night.
- John (1/5): -
- Genzo (10/5): -
- Genzo (10/5): - Clean and well organized, Patrick is very kind and helped us in any possible way. Great place
- Phillip (1/5): -
- SHUPING (10/5): - 住处对面就是火车站,进出市中心超方便。 挨着车站有些吵。
- Viola (8/5): Lovely stay - The room was big and clean, bed was comfortable. Kitchen was clean and well equipped.
The staff was really kind and helped us in many ways. Could be noisy at night, kitchen very small but never crowded. We always cooked without any problems!
- Patrick (4/5): - Too noisy & too much light come into rooms.
- Eric Inglis (5/5): -
- Mckersie (7/5): Not the best - Cheap and easy check-in The manager was rude
- Ashraf (6/5): Average. - Location. Cheapest price for a private room. Provides towel. Room a little dirty. Staff at reception very rude. 1 toilet for the guests.
- Wilson (7/5): -
- Sigurdur (10/5): -
- Felipe (5/5): -
- Havlová (10/5): Peka - The location was excelent, but the best on this accommodation is Patrik. Such a friendly, helpful person I never met before.
And also his cooking was very fine, we came from the city and our dinner was ready. And so tasty...
Melbourne is Patrik and his kindness and hospitality. Thank you for that.
Katerina The traffic was very busy and noisy.
- Mathilde (6/5): -
- Justin (7/5): - Good clean rooms.
- McGann (4/5): You don’t always get what you pay for. - Location was decent, close to transportation options, close to MCG, close to Fitzroy Gardens, close to Epworth hospital. Clear instructions for access. It’s proximity to a train line was a big black mark (property line backed on to the train line). My room was no more than 10 m from the tracks. Train traffic was all night, not uncommonly accompanied by hoots - not fun. I ended up moving to a different place for the second night as I wanted a decent night’s sleep. I assume other rooms were not so noisy.
Bathroom has clean, though needed attention (e.g. bath needed resurfacing).
The description of the place was that it’s a budget location, which is true, and that it was for people just looking for a bed for the night, which described me. I likely would not have chosen it had I known about the train line…
- Shannon (8/5): -
- Florent (3/5): Nul - Emplacement Votre qui ne ferme pas énormément de bruit dans la chambre
- Hart (6/5): - The room was ok, bed was comfortable enough.
Outdoor area was ok. I think the rooms should have small bar fridges in them, aswell as kettles with coffee, sugar & tea available.
- Leigh (1/5): Pathetic - I would not recommend this place to anyone, its simply a half way house.
Exceptionally disappointing
- Thomas (8/5): - Convenient Parking
- Chin Hsien (7/5): -
- Morgan (7/5): Best value budget accommodation, I don’t think you will find cheaper. It’s all pretty basic but you get what you pay fo - Great location and amazing price! Bed pretty hard, doona very light, room felt bare. Oh and the towel was stained.
- Meredith (7/5): Good cheap accommodation. - Great location - close to shops and eateries and public transport, CBD very close. Room is clean and bed was comfortable.
- Meredith (7/5): -
- Gopi Sankar (3/5): -
- Damien (8/5): - Very
- June Gandiaga (3/5): Rude staff and unpleasant atmosphere - The price was OK for what you have in the area We didn’t feel comfortable during our stay. The staff were unfriendly and made us feel unwelcome — they barely said hello and constantly watched what guests were doing. Our food was stolen, and when we reported it, we were told it happens because it’s a cheap place and that they couldn’t do anything about it. They also host homeless people, and the staff even showed us a video of one drinking from a guest’s bottle but didn’t warn anyone. One staff member accused my boyfriend of making her uncomfortable even though they had never spoken, which made us feel uneasy. It’s a cheap place, but they charge extra for everything, including the heater and laundry.
- Damien (10/5): - Everything Nothing
- Hungpui (10/5): - 干净,服务好
- Annette (8/5): -
- Joe (6/5): - Cheap and good location Road noise is loud and rooms are pretty cold
- kot (9/5): -
- Adva (8/5): -
- Annette (8/5): - Great location for the MCG. Clean and secure.
- Cinkhan (4/5): - Worst mattress i ever encounter
- Craig (10/5): - H
- Elizabeth (8/5): - Good location, very simple accommodation but clean and what you need just for a base or a place to stay of a night time. Staff were easy to communicate with. The bed and pillow weren’t that comfortable and the blanket was a bit small for a double bed, but it was doable.
- Aviad (2/5): No value for money but good location in terms of public transportation - This place is in terrible condition, it smells, and it’s not worth the price. Do yourself a favor: increase your budget by just a couple of hundred dollars and look elsewhere.
- ROBERT (10/5): - Greast hosts
- Hebron (2/5): - Our room was double booked so arrived qt midnight with nowhere to stay
- 424botondb (2/5): Dirty and seemed like a halfway house for people recovering from addiction - Honestly, it's hard to say anything good — sure, it was kinda cheap and the location wasn’t awful, but next time I’d seriously rather sleep under a bridge.
It was an absolute nightmare! The building itself was a total dump – filthy, stinky, falling apart, and insanely loud! But hands down, the worst part was the staff. From the second I walked in, they were straight-up rude and couldn’t care less. Zero manners, zero friendliness. If you have any sense, stay far away from this place. And a little tip for the owner: fire your manager, Patrick – the guy’s a total joke. What a disgrace!
- Lynne (10/5): -
- Aimi (3/5): -
- Max (5/5): exactly as described, but was greeted with a rude staff member - the value of the room was good the receptionist we spoke to was extremely rude. we felt uncomfortable as soon as we asked any questions
- Angie (10/5): - Room was light, clean and wonderfully warm. Staff friendly and helpful. Definitely value for money. Great location. I couldn't do my own laundry.
- Belen (5/5): - Personal was amazing, good services and the place was cleaned! The bed was absolutely uncomfortable. I couldn't sleep well.
- Steven (10/5): Great value great location for accommodation friendly staff - How friendly staff were on arrival and throughout my stay helping me with inquiries of local attractions Cleanse how clean it was rooms are quite spacious
Bring me staff friendly manager overall 10 across the board
- Steven (10/5): 10 out of 10 definitely booking again - Friendly affordable prices great staff great location Our friendly management and software to my needs and information that I required
- Jade (1/5): Bad - Nothing it was cold you have to hire a heater. They offer laundry services online then tell you your not allowed to use it. The manager is cold and treated us like we were bothering him. Then they charged us $20 fee for calling at 10 o'clock because they failed to send a message with the self check in code. It was the worst experience we have ever had to date. Everything. Literally.
- Evan (10/5): - Great value for money, nothing fancy but a good place to sleep privately on a tight budget.
- Andrew (1/5): Bad -
- Ann (6/5): - Adequate. Depends what you are wanting
- Jade (1/5): Let down by one bad egg - Not much really. The way the manager treated us as if we were an inconvenience.
- Craig (10/5): - Great location
Very clean and quiet.
- Liam (5/5): Three Nights in West Richmond - Close to Richmond Shops. West Richmond Station is just very close by.
Staff was helpful and friendly Didn't realise it was more like a hostel set up.Very basic. Not enough blankets on such cold days...if you want a heater, has to pay $5/day
Had to half the blankets and doubled it over and then asked for one more. Then grabbed a throw from the lounge.
- Jonatas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angela (6/5): Perfect for what we needed - It was in a perfect location for us.
Hot showers were great There was daily mopping and tidying but it could do with a deep clean - but considering the price it was excellent.
- Cook (7/5): My experience - Location No tv in room
- Konstantine (7/5): Good - For the price it's excellent for so close to Melbourne cbd.
Staff are helpful & it suited me well for one night.
The toilet & shower were very clean.
I would stay here again. Room could have been a little cleaner but I was happy with it.
It's a little noisy with my room opposite Punt road but that's only to be expected.
- Ben (10/5): Exceptional - Basic accomidation, perfect to stop for a night, very good price
- Debbie (6/5): - It was a very clean space which is great, however that’s not what we expected as we prefer the bathroom in our room a Tv kettle fridge etc. The host was very helpful and pleasant. It’s a great space fir young people travelling 😊
- Jhonny (10/5): Exceptional - The price-quality relationship was amazing. Also, the hosts are really clear in regards to what to expect compared to what you're paying for.
Patrick and his delicious 10AUD meals were real lifesavers for our low budget weekend trip.
- Gina (9/5): Superb - Good location and facilities
- Sione (8/5): Very good -
- Tracy (6/5): Pleasant -
