• Steffen (8/5): Schönes Hotel aber leider mit Ungeziefern - - Sehr gute Lage im Ort - sehr nettes Personal - super Frühstück - alles ist fussläufig oder kurz mit dem Tuk Tuk zu erreichen - kein Pool aber wusste ich ja vorher - leider gab es in unserem Zimmer viele Kakerlaken. Sie kamen nachts im Bad vermutlich durch die Feuchtigkeit nach dem Duschen heraus. Ich vermute aus dem Waschbecken Abfluss, denn nachdem ich den immer zu gemacht habe kamen weniger. Aber es waren immer 2-4 große Kakerlaken bei Dunkelheit im Bad. War ziemlich eklig. Tut mir auch leid für das Hotel, denn es war eigentlich echt schön aber mit den den vielen Kakerlaken würde ich nicht noch mal hier hin. - Ich war schon in einigen Läden in Südostasien und ich weiß dass es immer mal Viecher im Zimmer gibt. Aber so viel Kakerlaken hatte ich noch nie … - wenn die das Problem mit den Ungeziefern in Griff bekommen würden, würde ich 9,5 (wegen Pool) geben.

It’s really a great location, very close distance to the beach! It is a quiet location as well! The staff was very friendly. The room was spacious and wonderful! • Karen (9/5): An oasis where comfort and relaxation are the hotel’s priority - We liked the location of the property which was excellent- set within a lush garden, away from the bustle of the beach road but still within easy reach of the beach, shops and restaurants. The room had everything we needed including a wardrobe, fridge and even 2 blankets. The hotel was very clean, beautifully decorated, with several areas set aside for guests relaxation. The breakfast was good but best of all were the staff who were very friendly, helpful and made our stay memorable. Would definitely stay here again. The towels in the room which were too rough but we understand this is due to drying naturally.

It’s 3 star and I understand why because elements of it could be described as basic but we were very sad to leave and would like it to be 5* Nothing - it grew on us like an old friend. We had a ground floor room as it was full but I would say the upper floors are better for sitting outside your room and view.

Остановившись в таком отеле по настоящему чувствуешь себя обычным человеком. Кем бы вы не были, приезжая в это место, одев футболку и шорты, сняв обувь окунаешься в мир простой приземленной жизни. Весь персонал отеля рад Вам как родному. Особая благодарность за возможность попить горячего чаю поздно вечером с видом на прекрасный сад, когда идет прохладный тропический дождь (постойте под этим дождем). В отеле есть все необходимое. А главное его персонал. Спасибо за гостеприимство! Пребывание у вас запечатлелось в моем сердце. -

• Tatiana (8/5): - Как отмечали многие, отель очень удачно расположен в тупиковой улице. Вокруг зелень и тихо в целом. Интересный дизайн отеля с открытыми террасами на этажах. Семейный номер - это две смежные комнаты. Туалет и душ в комнате с большой кроватью, во второй комнате были три кровати в виде высоких матрасов, которые можно передвигать, т.к. они на колёсах. У этих двух комнат общий личный балкон с красивым видом. В номере нет чайника и чашек по умолчанию. Хороший номер, но будьте осторожны с едой, могут прийти муравьи. Персонал отзывчивый очень. В том числе следит, чтобы в номере было чисто. Душ не для отелей. Лейка, которую приделали к стене зачем-то. У туалета нет лейки. Хотя на Шри-Ланке лейка рядом с туалетом - это просто норма. Можно спуститься к завтраку и обнаружить, что свободных мест нет. На террасах на этажах постояльцы курят постоянно и в столовой на завтраке тоже.

Sri Lankan breakfast tasty and beautifully presented. Everything was good. Access (short cut) to main restaurant street not great but other option is long walk on busy road.
• Adele (7/5): Lovely to go back and so pleased its still a lovely value for money place to stay. - We really loved coming back to Nor Lanka and whilst there have been changes its still a lovely place to stay. The breakfast is amazing, dinner really good and great value for money, the staff are great and its in a convenient spot just off the beach and far enough away from the busy main street to be quiet but close enough to easily reach. Standards are still good. There are a couple of new outside sitting areas since our last visit which are a great addition. Our first room was a family room which was great, on the first floor with a balcony looking out on to a bit of the jungle. We moved rooms as we stayed under 2 separate bookings. Our second room was on the ground floor and not to our taste. It was spacious and very clean but it was dark, the outside space at the back was very shaded so we tended to sit out at the front in the sun. Due to the climate the room smelt damp. If you book make sure that you ask for a room on the first or second floor which are great,

The room was also super clean and the bed had a mosquito net, which was very handy. The only thing was that we had to pay for the laundry separately when we checked-out, so we had to do that with cash. But this was a minor thing.

• Mary (10/5): Lovely relaxing place - A really lovely calm, relaxing, clean and quiet place to stay. I stayed 4 nights but could have stayed longer, like others guests seemed to be. Very close to the beach (once you've figured out how to get there!) yet set back away from the bustle in a pleasant garden with cool areas to lounge in The food is absolutely excellent. The 'local breakfast' one of the best ever (and they even managed to present it in an arty and cheffy way, no mean feat with string hoppers and dhal curry!) The vegetable rice n curry dinner also was delicious. Helpful, smiling staff who seem to be on duty 24/7 Comfortable bed, hot shower, tasteful stone bathroom. I hope I get to stay here again. It's not on the main drag, which is a good thing but it's a little harder to find (until you know) and it means not such a wide choice of eating places at night. There's an excellent new place just around the corner though, serving authentic Italian dishes for a change. About 95% of the guests seemed to be of a certain nationality, not a problem, but they weren't at all friendly. Only one person even acknowledged me in the 4 days I was there, so if you're looking for someone to chat to, better bring someone with 😉 It's a wee bit pricey for Sri Lanka. But then, it's Unawatuna. it's probably worth the extra.

We weren't the biggest fans of Unawatuna as we found the type of tourists it brought spoiled the area. Some of the locals spoke to us about how the area had become worse for beach pollution. Go head to Mirissa if you want a nice beach & good vibes!

The family size room was very spacious, and exactly what we wanted for a 4-person family; it would also comfortably fit 5. The A/C was great, and the mosquito nets were long and well-maintained. There was one bathroom with a nice shower. Communicating with the hotel via booking.com, WhatsApp, and phone was very easy and friendly. They helped us reserve a parking spot at the last minute, and graciously held our bags when we forgot to inform them of our need for early checkout. It's a very charming 3 minute walk to the beach--the location is great. Overall a great deal for the price. We will stay at Nor Lanka again if we return to Unawatuna. Our only complaint was that we would have preferred the Sri Lankan breakfast, and weren't aware that we needed to order the night before. Our kids didn't care for the other options on the menu; however, the fruit plate was very nice.

Most comfortable bed I slept in in Sri Lanka, with plenty of room and good AC! Nothing to do with the hotel, but if I had to choose again I would definitely avoid Unawatuna. The room was reasonably spacious and pleasant. It was cleaned each day and the bed was made. The wifi worked. The breakfast was excellent. The mosquito net around the bed is a good idea. The location is great, very close to the beach and shops, restaurants. I booked the evening meal one night. The curry was disappointingly bland, so I ate out the following night. No facility to make tea in the room, which is a shame, not least because breakfast does not start until 8am. The shower would benefit from some indication as to which is the hot tap, which the cold. As it stands, it takes a while to get the temperature right.

• Karma (10/5): A big thumbs up - We had a very comfortable stay...clean...environment friendly...liked the idea of not using plastic items...breakfast was simple & straight from the kitchen.....staffs were wonderful...working hard & always with a smile. Was lucky yo meet the owner...friendly & warm lady. Natasha took goog care of us & am sure evry body else too.
• Olga (7/5): Good - The staff is great! Kind and friendly vibes! Especially the security and his dogs (you will see them if you return to hotel at night) Breakfast is ok. the location is also good if you like touristic places. I prefer something more authentic, so I left Unawatuna. Too many tourists and not the best type of them I've been there for 4 days. Price It's too expensive for this hotel (it was 40$/night). Small room - not even a kettle. + they didn’t clean my room or change towels and bed linen

Nor Lanka has the best of both Norway and Sri Lanka! perfect location for beach, best B&W beach restaurant, small supermarket. very comfortable rooms and relax areas. I had wonderful day with tuktuk of Mr Lal. Really kind gentlemen. let the hotel arrange this guided tour. Also loved the breakfast (good bread!) Thank you again kind an warm familie for making me feel so welcome🙏
