- Sharon (6/5): - This is a strange looking hotel, almost like it is former student housing. Our room was a good size with good air conditioning and a large bathroom. Our room and the hotel public areas were quite clean. There was no outside noise in our room, but noise from adjoining rooms was very disturbing. Breakfast was good, plenty of options. The bar is dreadful. The area is great, a huge number of bars, restaurants and cafes, and plenty of sightseeing nearby.

Breakfast had lots of delicious options. Hotel is on a walking street lined with tons of cute restaurants and shops.

The hotel needs a major renovation. Everything looked old. The AC was spotty and the room was warm. The breakfast was decent but nowhere near as good as the ones we had in Dubrovnik and Split.

- Michael (4/5): - There are good things and bad things about the Academia. I stayed for 3 nights but would have left after first except that I’d prepaid and couldn’t get my money back. The biggest negative issue is that WiFi is abysmal. It works on the main floor, but on the 3rd floor (where my room was) the WiFi was intermittent and weak. I couldn’t get any work done and eventually gave up. The 2nd problem was that my room was boiling hot. The thermostat in the room didn’t work, and I had to go to the front desk to ask them to lower the temperature. I ended up sleeping with the window open even though my room was on a busy street. On the positive side, the breakfast is excellent.

- Spencer (8/5): - This hotel is very well-located within walking distance of most of Zagreb's attractions. Parking is conveniently located in an underground garage. Its comfortable and clean. There is no valet to help with luggage. The hotel is plainly decorated just so your not surprised.

LOTS of storage inthe room for hanging and storing clothes and belongings. Very safe. Excellent and helpful staff. - AMRA (6/5): - The room itself was very large and the bed was very comfortable. The young man that checked us in late at night was very friendly and welcoming and provided a great experience, as did everyone else we spoke to during our stay. What we didn't like is that there is a weird chemical/mixed with musty smell in the lobby. This also carries into the rooms, and the rooms are carpeted so the humidity and must just linger and provide an unpleasant smell. Also, there is no flat sheet with the bedding so you HAVE to cover youself with the comforter. The comforter wasn't washed and smelled like body odor and was gross. Also, the air conditioning in the room is covered by the desk and so it doesn't really do much to cool the room off.

We booked at the last minute as we were driving through Zagreb to another destination in Croatia and we chose it because of the central location: and we were indeed very happy with the location, it is right in the old centre, within minutes of whatever sight you may be interested in. The free underground parking was a wonderful perk. We had a very nice room, with a big terrace overlooking the central street. It was, nonetheless, very quiet and comfortable. The room and the bathroom were very clean, as was the entire hotel area. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again, especially since it is a pet-friendly hotel.

- Jumar (10/5): Excellent - This hotel is in the heart of old town where most of the touristy spots are located and very walkable. Hotel is very clean, located in a very nice area and is close to bars and shops. Staff are very friendly and accommodating, our room is very spacious with a very spacious outdoor area overlook the old town. Breakfast is nice, you have variety for everyone. Would highly recommend this hotel.
- Tracy (2/5): if you want privacy, stay somewhere else - The worst! The air conditioner didn't work and we were told there is nothing that could be done. End of discussion! so we were sent a fan that squeaked all night. We were lucky to get a total of 2 hours sleep between sweating like crazy or being kept up by the noise of the fan. We had no wifi in the room and were told it was due to the large wedding taking place therefore bandwith was low however the next morning we still couldn't access the internet....so more lies. The final part of this wonderful story....we borrowed a pair of scissors from reception and were told we could return the next day however while we were out for dinner, housekeeping came into our room and looked for it and removed it without any notice or discussion. If you value you privacy and want to get what you paid for - DO NOT STAY HERE

Our room was spacious with plenty of storage options and a good size bathroom. We travelled with a car and parking was underneath the hotel. Staff were great and the breakfast very enjoyable. Highly recommend this hotel.

- MICHAEL (8/5): Good Hotel With Some Disappointments - My taxi dropped me off at the front door, but after entering, I had to carry heavy bags through a lobby to an elevator to get to reception. Leaving elevator another good distance to desk, then back to elevator to reach my room. I hadn't realized I booked a junior suite, never usually do, and it was way more than I needed. Comfy with sitting room & separate bedroom. However, the bed was so large, not much room to walk about Sitting room couch not comfy on which to watch TV. Many channels, but not the listed CNN, which clerk told me became too costly. I asked about why there were no tissues. They said "it wasn't required." Tacky response. Too much cost cutting. How about just providing normal hotel services? Bathroom huge with 2 sinks. The shower and bathtub were on opposite sides. Bathtub had Jacuzzi I sadly never used. Shower had no safety guard rails, so I had to hold onto glass partition for support. Lots of shampoo and other stuff provided, but no tissues? Hair dryer was stuck on full power. Couldn't change, so they replaced. Why wasn't this noticed? Breakfast with many choices, though only omelets for eggs. Coffee was not great. No toaster for bread. Had plenty to eat. I enjoyed the luxury of the two rooms and bathroom. Ana was my favorite clerk, friendly and helpful. Others provided assistance, too Location very good, at the edge of Old Town. Many restaurants and bars nearby, so you don't notice the long way back from Town Square, which has many tram stops.

It's very convenient and the staff is fine and friendly. The Wi-Fi was fantastic and the air conditioning worked barely. Let's just say it was never freezing in the room. The water pressure in the shower was decent at best, but it was perfect for a two-night stay as the parking is right there. The breakfast was good but not plentiful.

The hotel was at the end of a main street (I believe Tkalciceva street) with all restaurants, bars and coffee shops. It was five to ten minute away from the Cathedral, St. Mark's church, Tower Lotrscak and Ban Jelacic Square. The room was very large, and very clean. Large size bathroom. Most of all, service was outstanding. Staff was friendly and always helpful. Big shout to Lucija for her help.

- cecil (8/5): - The property is very convenient for enjoyable walking through the old town and reasonable walking distance from centre. We arrived about 1am after a late flight and reception was good. The hotel itself is quite bland but room and bed were clean and comfortable.Breakfast is basic.There is a very good Spar supermarket on ground floor. Check out at 10.00 is early if you have a late flight.
