• Marcel (10/5): The pearl of the Old Fort - This is a hidden gem in the old fort. It doesn't look comfort when arriving but.... it immorally is! Sri Lankan hospitality at it finest! We stayed at many places in the fort but this outrun the high priced hotels! The bathroom 😍, the beds are perfect and it's really really clean! Everything was perfect!
• French Traveller (4/5): For the same price, book elsewhere - Location is the saving grace, at the heart of the old fort city. But then again, nothing opens till 9... No air conditioning. The air conditioning in the room was broken and stayed broken for the entire stay. No coffee for breakfast. The lame excuse for a "Breakfast" starts being served only at 8:45. Before that, you're out of luck. They do not serve everything that is on the set list, unless you remind them of the items, like baked beans (they "forgot") or ham/bacon ("forgot"). The coffee machine was broken when we arrived, and stayed broken for the 3 days. Do yourself a favor, do not pay for included breakfast and get a real breakfast at the nice cafes across the street, that start earlier too. Better selection, better juices. Extremely narrow spiral stairway to get to the room, very difficult with a child in your arms, with heavy luggage or for older people Occasional power cuts, no generator.

• collette (6/5): Ok if you’re looking for a central location and are not fussed about where you sleep. - It’s centrally located and the breakfast is excellent. The staff are helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. The shower was hot and powerful. The room clearly has seen better days. The bed is comfortable and the rooms were generally clean but the facilities were old. The bathroom in particular. The ac was noisy and barely worked.

• Sander (10/5): Comfortable stay with very attentive staff - The owner and staff were very attentive. The owner could arrange for a very nice car to be brought back to Colombo at the market rate. Because there were fewer tourists on the island, he could also help us with facilitating our beach outings. The breakfast was delicious. You can hear the outside noise from the room, but I guess that's the case in many accommodations inside Fort Galle.

Le pdj est bon, assez varié et préparé à la minute donc frais. Si besoin de renseignements, le personnel y répond avec grand plaisir et propose même leur service. Manque d'obscurité dans la chambre donc le matin, au lever du soleil; la luminosité pénétrait vite dans la chambre

Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich und das Frühstück war gut und reichleich. Wir hatten zu zweit vier Zimmer, also reichlich Platz. Die Zimmer waren sauber, jedoch vieles etwas abgenutzt. Preis etwas zu hoch für die Unterkunft, jedoch der Lage entsprechend.

No hot water, the cold tap with the top detached very basic in every way. I take responsibility for booking it when the very reasonable charges should have made me realise that it was not the sort of accommodation we would book.

The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts are good. Again, the location is perfect! The bathroom was gorgeous, but the plumbing is a bit iffy! Nothing that upset our stay, but be prepared.

• Paul (8/5): A good budget option for the area. - The bed was comfy. The shower was warm. The staff were lovely. The mosquito netting was helpful. Right in the middle of the old town. Breakfast - the asian one - was good. Mosquitos are also frequent guests inside the rooms. Shower doesn’t accommodate tall people.

We didn't notice the mould until after we had showered, as I could smell something horrible, and then requested to move rooms. There weren't any rooms so we asked to leave. The owners/managers were then aggressive and angry that we hadn't checked the room prior to showering - I repeat, the black mould was "hidden". I don't usually move paintings and wall hangings when entering a room. They said we had used their water and wasted the room as they would've tried to re-sell it. Incredibly steep/dangerous spiral staircase up to rooms too, need asisatnce carrying bags/suitcases up.

• Brammer (10/5): Excellent value and favours warm welcoming staff. - A fabulous guest house in the heart of Galle. It isn’t luxurious and plush, it is warm, friendly and exceptionally welcoming. Hospitality as it should be. The bed is comfortable and the aircon is free flowing. The staff and location make this place. Central location in Galle Fort so don’t expect it to be quiet! Things do slow down and by 10pm it’s very quiet Breakfast, with fresh ingredients is excellent and available till late too. Nothing was too much trouble or inconvenient. I will definitely return. Precarious stairs!

Die Zimmer sind winzig, es hat keine Ablagen und keine Möglichkeit um die Duschtücher aufzuhängen. Aus der Klimaanlage kam nur eiskalte Luft und konnte nicht verstellt werden. Alles in Allem ein ziemlich einfaches, eher schäbiges Hotel. Zimmer entsprechen nicht den Fotos. Frühstück ok aber nichts extra, ansonsten musste jeder Kaffee zusätzlich bezahlt werden.

Sain voileivät mukaan, kun lähdin ennen aamupalaa pois. Varauksessa luvataan TV ja parveke, joita ei kuitenkaan ollut. Pelkkä TV-teline seinässä 😟. Suihkusta tuli aluksi tulikuumaa vettä, kunnes opin tekniikan. Huoneen ovi tosi vaikea saada lukkoon. Äänet kuuluvat selvästi alakerrasta ja ympäristöstä huoneeseen, joten viikonloppuisin voi olla äänekästä.

I loved the late breakfast option (up to 12!) - I especially recommend the Asian breakfast, DELICIOUS. One of the windows doesn’t have curtains, which for me meant an early wake-up.

• Lydia (9/5): Great location, friendly and helpful staff, good value - Great location, with good restaurants and bars within a few minutes’ walk. Just down the road from Galle Fort. Staff are relaxed and friendly. Completely non intrusive and they make you feel like nothing is a big deal. There was a good shower in the bathroom. And at breakfast the coffee was good quality and came in nice china cups. Usually with budget hotels you just get Nescafe! It’s not the height of luxury, but the price reflects that!

Номер просторный, с удобной кроватью, местами для хранения вещей, рабочими зонами, феном в ванной комнате. Хорошие завтраки и очень приветливый персонал! Не очень хорошо работал wi-fi, но это какая-то общая проблема Шри-Ланки, если окна в ванной приоткрыты, то сильно ощущается запах кухни. В целом, отличное соотношение цены и качества, серьезных недостатков для нас не было.

• Mike (5/5): Okay for the night, we had booked two! - We wanted a place where we could easily explore the old fortress and the box was ticked for that. We had good breakfast and coffee. Staff were friendly. Spiral staircase up to the rooms was tight to get up and down. Not sure how you would escape in the event of a fire. Door opened onto a walkway, perhaps that’s the balcony? Time for some upgrade and maintenance. Poor Wi-Fi connection

Localización perfecta. Para poner una pega habia mosquitera y protector de bichos en todas la camas excepto en una, la cual me hubiera gustado que tuviera.
