Guest Reviews
- Nisreen (10/5): It was memorable - Location was great. Staff was nice. The rooms were nice cosy. Also liked that they stocked the room with water bottles every day. The decore was modern and classic. I would come again here.

- Carolyn (10/5): Perfect little boutique hotel with good sized rooms, quiet, and perfect location. - The location of the hotel is perfect if you are going to Broadway, or trying to be within Midtown. The room is always clean and you have everything you need for your stay. The hotel is quiet and the staff are friendly. Nothing
- robertfK2181US (10/5): You need to consider this hotel!!! - My wife surprised me with a trip for my 30th birthday and we stayed at this lovely hotel. From the moment we stepped inside, there was a lovely fresh scent, all the staff were so friendly, the room was perfect for our 2 day trip, the breakfast was sublime! And right around the corner from Times Square!! 100% would recommend and we’ll definitely be coming back on our next trip!
- Julio (8/5): -
- Sharon (10/5): Stylish boutique hotel, clean, comfortable and convenient. - Location so accessible to the Theater District.
A small hotel with charm. Dining facilities on site.
Our room charge included a credit for a drink or snack in the restaurant. The street noise was present since it is not a high rise. There was no lobby, just two different areas to drink or dine.
- Jekaterina (9/5): - Quiet and cozy feel. Clean, nicely appointed rooms. Good breakfast in the restaurant downstairs. The entrance door into our room 405 was not fully closing, there was a gap, basically opening into the hallway, so we could heal all noises. The room was very small, and felt cramped.
- charlesvC4831OT (8/5): Good location - We wanted a smaller hotel for our stay in New York and Merrion Row met this requirement. The hotel is in a great location for Times Square, Central Park and 5th.
The bar in the hotel was really nice for an early evening drink before heading out. There is also a great deli/shop right next door, which offers good breakfast, smoothie and lunch options.
- Lisa (10/5): We had such a nice stay at this hotel. The rooms are beautiful and clean. The location is excellent! - Excellent location! Rooms were beautiful and clean. The food at the restaurant was delicious. Nothing
- Ping (10/5): It is always a pleasure to come back to Merrion Row and see familiar faces. - Everything Nothing
- Chien (7/5): - Localização O quarto estava mal conservado. A porta do banheiro não fechava e era muito inconveniente usar o vaso sanitário com uma pessoa no quarto
As pessoas da recepção não eram amigaveis

- Luisa Priscilla (10/5): Beautiful hotel, great location, and a very enjoyable stay overall. - The location was outstanding—close to everything and perfect for exploring the city. The hotel is beautifully designed with a modern, upscale feel, and the room was very clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and made the stay feel effortless. The room was a bit cozy, but it was well-designed and still very comfortable for our stay.
- Anna (10/5): - Прекрасный персонал, отличный ресторан и хорошие завтраки. Иногда был шум с улицы ночью
- Regina (9/5): -
- Susan (9/5): Delightful find. Stayed in backside, which was very quiet. - We ate at the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast, more for convenience than anything. Food was delicious and reasonably priced.
- Tamara (10/5): - Wonderful place in the middle of the theater district. Staff was exceptional. We met the owners. Very gracious. Food was delicious breakfast was in an atrium. Loved our stay There is no place to unload, so go park your car if you have one and bring your suitcase along. Most ppl don't drive so may not be an issue. Robopark a half a block away, this is the way to go is you have a car.
- Anne (8/5): Wir hatten schöne Tage in New York 😍 - Ein kleineres persönlich geführtes Hotel mit großem Zimmer.
- Jessica (9/5): Our fourth stay and we’ll be back! - Love this location and hotel. Great staff, good restaurant and bar, friendly staff, clean room. It’s all around a great stay. This was our fourth visit. Nothing.
- Seanpaul (10/5): -
- Lisa (10/5): A fabulous time at a unique property in an excellent location! - We loved everything about our stay! The staff, the location , the room fit out, the restaurant and the menu!

- A7120YGsandram (10/5): An Oasis in a big City - We visted last week, an amazing spot, very friendly, food was amazing and great value. A bi mention to Hugo who was friendly and provided great service and was rally attentive. Its a really nice bar, and we will definitley return on her next visit, Very centrally located too - just off Time Square. Thanks again
- eddZ7480AU (10/5): Perfect venue for theater stay! - Fantastic stay! Went to see the cursed child. Perfect location for short walk to the theatre. Staff went above and beyond. Friendly accommodating and made our stay pleasant.
- Denise (9/5): -
- Stephanie (8/5): - The hotel room was very cozy and in a great location. The hotel room was expensive but that's probably to be expected in NY. The food and drinks were expensive. The voucher would only cover 1 small entre or drink.
- Brennan (10/5): A perfect spot to get away. - What a gem of a hotel! The staff is amazing, the location is great, and the room was clean and spacious for NYC. That i was only staying one night and didn't get to try the restaurant.
- Discover28289048565 (10/5): A great getaway - This is such a gem of a place. Great location, excellent and friendly staff, comfortable, clean rooms and a nice place to get away. Really, the location and room size were perfect for seeing a show.
Fire an NYC hotel, the street noise was pretty subdued. Room ac worked great and you can open some windows.
- samhI3074RR (6/5): Great location. Mediocre experience. - Overall, it’s okay. Depends on your preference and expectations.
Pros: Fairly quiet. Great Location. Restaurant on site. Seem-less check in/check out process. Great WiFi. $25 credit per day of stay helped as there’s no coffee in the room.
Cons: Small rooms, Uncomfortable beds - think Murphy beds, so bad if you have back issues. Bed creaks with movement, especially if you share with someone. Phone in room did not work, so have to go to the front desk in person for help or if you have a question. Rooms not cleaned well for multiple day stays. No coffee /tea, shower cap etc. in the room.
- Pittsbg2003FatBoy (10/5): Nice petite hotel in the big city - Nice petite hotel in the big city!
Cute hotel in a great location near Times Square. Our rooms were ready when we checked in, which was a very nice surprise! The room was very clean. The staff was extremely nice. the breakfast room is super cute and the pub had great food! There was some street noise coming in the windows even with them shut. We had rooms at the street side of the building though. All in all a very nice stay and we highly recommend Merrion Row Hotel!

- Grace (10/5): Perfect Weekend Getaway - Loved the proximity to Times Square, Broadway, and Central Park. Very charming, cozy, romantic boutique hotel.
- gracekX1013EG (10/5): A Perfect Weekend Getaway - Merrion Row was fantastic, a perfect stay!! We visited NYC to see a broadway show and then to run the NYC Half Marathon this weekend, and Merrion Row was the best hotel for our stay. The food and atmosphere at the Public House was perfect and Sebastian was an awesome bartender. The room was gorgeous and very comfortable, and the hotel was perfectly situated to walk to Broadway and Times Square. We will definitely be back!
- V6592KIchristopherm (10/5): A Slice of Ireland in NYC - Stayed here several years ago and have wanted to return. Cozy, boutique hotel just a half block from Times Square and next to 2 other popular Irish Bars, Merrion Row has strong Irish vibes with great pints and good breakfasts. Very comfortable rooms (especially the beds) and accommodating staff. Small negative on coffee (needs to be hotter!) but otherwise another great visit and would love to return!
- O'Rourke (7/5): - Great location, cozy, nicely decorated Small rooms and quite hard to find the lobby is basically nonexistent
- Navigator65603544342 (2/5): No Sleep, Full Price - I stayed here hoping to get a good night of sleep, but unfortunately the experience was pretty terrible. The guest next to me repeatedly slammed their door throughout the night and woke me up around a dozen times until about 5:30 AM.
The bigger issue was that the phone in my room didn’t work, so I couldn’t contact the front desk while this was happening. I eventually had to call from my cell phone at 5:49 AM.
When I spoke to the manager, they said someone had been sent up earlier to quiet the guest and that the issue had stopped, so they refused to offer any compensation. The late checkout they mentioned had already been arranged before this incident.
Between the disturbance and the broken room phone, it was a very frustrating stay and I got almost no sleep.
- Tracy (10/5): Fabulous boutique hotel with everything you need for a short stay - Excellent central location. Clean comfortable room with all necessary amenities. With the $25 guest coupon breakfast was a bargain and the food excellent Very hot outside the room. Lack of closet space but I accept we may have been assigned a room with minimal amount as we only stayed 1 night
- Ruth (10/5): - Room was perfect , comfortable beds, great food, lovely team, fab atmosphere
- RMJ246 (10/5): Perfect for the Shows - We chose the Merrion Row hotel because of its proximity to the Broadway theater district. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and quiet. The restaurant was incredible! Wonderful breakfast service throughout our stay and delicious lunch on our last day. Very convenient for public transportation as well. We’ll definitely return.
- tracy (8/5): Good location , nice people - Close to Times Square When u eat there, u wait forever to be helped We waited 25 minutes before anyone approached us to take out order
- suewV9918EF (10/5): A Gem on 45th Street - The hotel was perfect. Close to all the main attractions in mid-town. Quiet at night. Friendly staff and clean rooms.
- I2445WJlizs (10/5): Perfect stay at Merrion Row Hotel - Fabulous rooms, extremely comfortable beds with lovely linen, spacious with a lovely modern yet cosy feel! We stayed for 5 nights and felt right at home. The location is so central that we could pop back for a break in the day from sightseeing. The staff are so welcoming, nothing is too much trouble! The bar area is vibrant yet relaxing just the right mix for what you want in a hotel. Great menu I think we tried most options, my favourite the Irish breakfast which is a feast to help start your day! We liked our bedroom at the front of the hotel as it is busy and we loved hearing all the different city noise! If you want less noise then the back rooms are much quieter. Excellent value for money- the location was perfect for us, the hotel and service was perfect thank you
- Ceasar (9/5): - Location Waiting time for breakfast
- S1592TZalio (10/5): Beautiful boutique hotel in a great location! - We loved this hotel. Perfect stay for our weekend in NYC. The entire staff was wonderful. Rooms are lovely, bright & immaculate.

- Passport36709683409 (10/5): The hotel is great. - The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and clean, and breakfasts buffet was delicious. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay special. A true gem.

- Francesco (9/5): Bello scalo a New York - Ottima posizione. Stanza non grande ma funzionale e confortevole
- Gabriela (9/5): -

- Daniel (10/5): - Food, ambience, service was all excellent.
- Niharika (7/5): - Very close to the Times Square They charged tips for breakfast in the bill and that you get to know when the bill gets paid.
- Martinez Espinoza (10/5): Buena ubicación - La ubicación Precio
- sarahr236 (10/5): Lovely Irish Townhouse - Let me be this out of the way: I hate the neighborhood. I usually try to avoid it but we needed to be nearby on this trip which meant we had the treat of staying at the Merrion Row. This was my second stay here It’s like a cozy Irish townhouse hotel in the middle of the city. High end finishes, clean and cozy, unpretentious. It makes up for the crowds outside by being quiet, warm, friendly, and easy to enjoy. The queen rooms are tiny and gave an air shaft so probably would opt for a king next time, but the furnishings are lovely regardless. Breakfast in the solarium is a treat and you’ll get to chat with Sebastian and Shona which is a grand way to start your day.
- aprillynne332016 (10/5): Boutique hotel in the middle of NYC! - My mom, teenage daughter, and I spent five nights at Merrion Row Hotel between Christmas and New Years. What a cute, historic boutique hotel right in the middle of everything!
Pros: LOCATION! Walking distance from most of the major sites in Manhattan and a short subway or Uber ride from the rest. Hotel is clean and updated with a historic, charming feel. We had fresh linens and beds made every day. Service was awesome, staff was super hospitable giving it more of a b&b vibe. Food vouchers were great --- we used them for midday apps, afternoon teas, and dessert delivered to our room.
Cons: Location also means more noise at all hours. Bring a noise machine or earplugs or play white noise on your phone. Sheets, although clean, were crunchy and loud at night any time we turned over (I will also never understand why hotels don't use fitted sheets!). The rooms and bathrooms are small with little space for luggage for 3 people, and they could use a trashcan in the bedroom (there's only one located in the bathroom). Lastly, the nearest subway stop is a couple of blocks away. Not a big deal, but just something to consider.
Overall, we had an amazing trip and would definitely recommend this hotel!
- TRF (10/5): - We just love this beautiful oasis in the middle of Time's Square. Such convenience and excellent service.
- Deborah (9/5): -
- Maura (10/5): -
- Barak (8/5): - Very close to everything, right near Times Square
- Keela (10/5): This is a beautiful small boutique hotel, the staff here are wonderful and so accommodating. I would highly recommend th - I liked the location and it was a very quaint hotel. What made it the most special was the wonderful staff!! Nothing!!
- Christine (10/5): Great location and really neat place to stay - Amazing
- joannepJ554QN (10/5): Lovely!! - Excellent boutique hotel in the heart of Manhattan. I can’t say enough good things about this place. It’s a small intimate hotel and yet has all you may want or need. The room was so lovely, simple yet very comfortable. The bathroom was super clean and so pretty. The soaps even were wonderful. The carpet in the hallway was so nice…the feeling of fresh and updated. I am really picky about the vibe of a place and Merrion Row was just perfect. Historical feeling but with comfort and care in mind. It has an artsie flare to the room as well. It’s located so so conveniently and we walked everywhere!
- Maryliz (7/5): - Reception door could've been locked. On one morning at 6:30am, an addict was lurking in the breakfast area. Didn't feel safe. Hope you can look into security measures.
- cathysR8102YD (10/5): Don’t even look anywhere else! This is your place! - My husband and I were celebrating our 43rd wedding anniversary and love spending it in New York City….seeing a pile of musicals and enjoying great food. My husband found us this perfect boutique hotel. Merrion Row is beautifully finished, fabulously maintained and such a warm and comfortable place to come back to at the end of the day. The restaurant food is very good. The lovely lady, Shona whom we met and talked to every day seems to run the place. The Irish pub next door is also owned by the same owner of Merrion Row and also has fabulous food. We will definitely stay there again!!! We give this accommodation a 15/10. Don’t even bother to look anywhere else.
- Sekhri (9/5): Beautiful boutique hotel - Location, staff Road noise- not hotel fault - location
- Explorer600366 (2/5): Extending my warning to others - there are many other hotels to choose from, avoid this hotel by all costs! - Not exactly sure how this hotel has such a high rating and it blows my mind. I literally have never wrote a review on any of the over 20+ different hotels my wife and I have frequented in the city but this horrible hotel stay needs to get off my chest.
Check in was absolutely atrocious. Mind you our reservation was last minute and we arrived around 10pm-ish, however we were greeted by some guy who was shoving food in his mouth as we walked in the front door staring us down. I get it, people need to eat but the fact he was still chewing as he ‘’checked me in’’ was not such a pleasant first impression. We were given our room keys and sent off to our room.
The room. Well. It was a room. No fridge, no luggage rack/table, light bulbs blown and not replaced, dust all over the place, hairdryer with all these attachments that - surprise, did not work. Air conditioning unit was either way too hot or too cold. Walls all dinged up with luggage marks and scrapes. 3 of the electrical outlets did not work.
Could I have brought this up to the front desk? Sure. However, I was so displeased with my experience and felt that other than just being given a key to a room, there was no guest appreciation or interaction that I didn’t even bother expressing my dissatisfaction. I feel as if it would have fell on deaf ears and not worth the added frustration on my end with such a poorly run hotel. Many other things came up throughout our stay that my wife and I kept saying come the morning we can check out of this dump.
That said, count your blessing if you decide to stay here for any amount of nights. The only thing going for it is the location, THAT IS ALL. Better off getting a good nights rest in your car……
- Powell (1/5): An aggressive manager was extremely defensive about an issue I experienced rather than accountable - Manager was very rude and not accountable
- Bachala (9/5): -
- Elfn (10/5): Wonderful!! - Just had the most lovely stay at this warm & charming boutique property in Manhattan!! My trip was theatre-focused, so the location, on the edge of the theatre district, was perfect. The whole staff was welcoming, accommodating, and efficient. The restaurant offers delicious menu options for B, L, and D, and has a very nice cocktail menu as well. Definitely a 5-star stay, and I’m already planning my return! Thank you!!
- kaihO3085LC (10/5): Great atmosphere and service. Loved my stay! - From the decor to the staff, the Merrion Row and Public House is a warm and inviting space. The rooms are clean and spacious. And the food is delicious. Would recommend.
- stephshanc (10/5): Great location near Times Square and Bryant Park, Quiet, Friendly staff - We loved this hotel. Very welcoming, clean, comfortable, and quiet. Fantastic location in the middle of everything with room tucked back towards an inner courtyard- did not hear one siren in the night. Restaurant on 1st floor was delicious- get the Boxty with Curry sauce. Front desk staff were helpful- held our luggage, called us a car for airport transfer. Overall- great stay. Would recommend!
- Stephanie (10/5): We have been to NYC many times and this is our favorite hotel we have stayed at- great location, quiet, and very helpful - The location was perfect! Close to Times Square and also close to Bryant park. Convenient to the subway. Right in the middle of a the excitement (it was Halloween) yet incredibly quiet. This didn’t impact us, but the hotel didn’t have a traditional lobby. The 1st floor is a bar and restaurant - which we frequented multiple times and was very comfortable.
- Pia Martinsen (10/5): Really enjoyed cosy atmosphere -
- U2859AOemilyo (10/5): Great all-around experience - My son (10) and I stayed for five nights in late October. We were welcomed by warm and friendly staff who went out of their way for us. The room was always clean and very comfortable. My son was given lots of attention and treats by staff, which made his stay even more special and memorable. We loved the Irish hospitality, as well as proximity to Central Park, Times Square, Bryant Park and direct transport to all of NYC. A great experience, extra thank you to Shona & lovely to meet Mr Reilly too.

- 205AmyC (10/5): Wonderful experience, would definitely stay here again - Convenient location near Times Square, clean hotel with lovely decor, staff was friendly, attentive and helpful, room was comfortable, food in restaurant was very good. Loved the atmosphere and very affordable rates for 3 nights in the city.
- kathyk961 (2/5): Closed - It was closed! Found out the night before my trip it was closed and was now housing for migrants. No answer when I called the hotel to verify. Expedia also could not get them to answer the phone. I had already paid in full. Had to find another hotel at the last minute.
- ScottieGirl90 (10/5): Beautiful Boutique Hotel - Hotel is in a great location! Very clean and nicely appointed. Wonderful, warm customer service! Would definitely stay here again
- Barbara (10/5): - Clean, beautiful room. Staff was very helpful and welcoming. Great location in mid-town
- David (4/5): - The insulation was awful. Could hear every word coming from the room next door. Super small place and a bit too "tight" quarters if you want any privacy. Bar area and food were great but super noisy with all the stuff outside. Only recommend if you want something lively near Times Square
- Tracy (9/5): Perfect location for our birthday trip! - The location can not be beat! We chose it upon recommendation from the bar staff (Keith) at Connellys during past visits. I also love the quaintness. The water for showers was cold...until you messed with it for a long time, then you might get scalding hot...there was never a happy medium achieved.
- B8048KTsimonm (10/5): First class experience - Great location with super friendly staff who were always helpful. Ideal base to explore New York, with easy access to everything.

- Sheila (10/5): excellent - Merrion Row is always our go to Hotel
- Anthony (10/5): - Staff were super friendly and accommodating. Rooms were well appointed and very clean. Enjoyed the location. It was very convenient to walk to nearby attractions and shopping. Will stay again when we return to the city.
- Steven (10/5): - The best staff, also a wonderful property. Rooms were clean and very nice. One of the best breakfasts in the city.
- Muhammad (10/5): - Steps from Times Square, this is a Hidden Gem!
- jensyg2023 (10/5): Family last minute trip - I absolutely enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It was kept really clean. They came in to clean our hotel like the second day I really appreciated how well the cleaning people kept up with our room and stocked up on our towels without even requesting !! The front desk was really smooth and easy. The area is amazing it’s literally around the corner of Times Square so everything was walking distance. The noise level was really quiet I do not have any complaints about noise or anything I will most definitely be rebooking and returning to this hotel !! 10/10.
- paddler1970 (10/5): Great midtown hotel - We stayed at the hotel for a long weekend and were very happy with our stay. Our room was clean & comfortable and larger than we expected given the location. We had drinks at the bar & dinner one night. We also did breakfast both mornings at the hotel. Everything was delicious. Everyone we interacted with was very pleasant & helpful. While the hotel is very close to the hustle & bustle of Times Square, our room was quiet & restful.
- Mark (10/5): - This was a delightful discovery! Apparently opened in 2018, this historic building is a 28 room Irish boutique hotel in the middle of the theatre district. Surprisingly quiet with a nice, sunny breakfast room serving delicious fare including a full Irish breakfast. There's also a bar and a dining room that looks out on the street. My Small room was tastefully decorated with good air conditioning and a rather large bathroom with nice smelling shampoo and good water pressure. In short, I liked it a lot.
- Aldis (8/5): - An oasis right outside of Times Square
