• Andrea Tamio (9/5): Strepitose visuali panoramiche - Panoramico hotel raggiungibile solo con bus o auto (i treni non circolano in questa area sulla costa occidentale della penisola di Izu). La vista panoramica sulle suggestive formazioni rocciose sul mare è impressionante già all'entrata della lounge room. Dalle 15 alle 17 vengono offerti birra e snacks a volontà (alle 17:30 inizia la cena a buffet con bevande alcoliche gratuite). Essendo il salone molto ampio non si creano file eccessive davanti alle pietanze (la mattina, a colazione, la situazione diventa decisamente più caotica). Comodo servizio di navetta gratuita per la fermata del bus a Dogashima. Dalla nostra camera la vista era meravigliosa ma il segnale del wifi debole. L'hotel è molto frequentato, i bus di vacanzieri arrivano senza sosta. Segnale WIFI debole in camera.

• Chia An (6/5): 希望老飯店有新氣象 - 員工服務的熱忱，不管是櫃檯、餐廳、服務都很好👍 房間的硬體設施，如馬桶蓋都歪一邊了，怎麼沒有連馬桶一起換呢？廁所、浴室抽風都壞掉了根本不會抽氣，泡澡泡到快不能呼吸了，落地窗或窗戶沒有紗窗根本無法開窗通風，一開窗房間就有蚊子進來，整個房間濕氣臭氣都悶在房間裡，另外危急安全的是陽台的欄杆地基鋼筋都裸露蠻危險的。因我們家庭是連續住兩晚加兩天早晚餐，原本很期待會有新菜色，後來發現都一樣。希望飯店愈來愈好💪
• Natalie (10/5): Loved our stay here - wish we could have stayed longer, highly recommend! - We've been very fortunate with hotels and ryokans in our visits to Japan, but this is one of our favorites. The location is great for exploring the beautiful west coast of Izu. The views from the room, and pretty much every vantage point in the hotel, are beautiful. You should definitely opt in for the buffets (dinner and breakfast) as both of them are great in terms of quality and variety. The room was spacious and comfortable. Staff was kind. The highlight for us was the onsen! Truly enjoyed every aspect of our stay here and will definitely return. nothing

• Grietje (7/5): Excellent location and sunsets - Excellent location with stunning views from the lounge and bedrooms and the sunset from the lounge area is breathtaking. The food was ok, not excellent. The hotel could do with updating, and there are no beds made before 7 am. This is an all-in hotel. There are no beds during the day. They are ready from 7 am so if you want to have a rest, you need to make it yourself as they are tucked away in the cupboards.

• 久江 (10/5): また、行きたくなるホテル。 - 食事、ロケーションとても良かつた。スタッフも親切で、チェックインの１時間前に着いてしまったので、ラウンジでフリードリンクを飲みながら待っていると、30分前にわざわざスタッフが来てくれて今から受付開始いたします。とチェックインを早めにしてくれました。プライベートビーチもシュノーケリングができてカラフルな魚で見れて海から上がったそのままお風呂へ行けることもスタッフが教えてくれてとても、助かりました。毎年訪れたいホテルです。 なし。
• Abi (8/5): - The location is this hotel was amazing. The view over the islands and sea was breathtaking. Also easily accessible to nearby towns and beaches of the peninsula. The buffet breakfast has a great selection and plenty of space in the dining area even when it was busy. The amenity station on the reception level was a nice touch, as was the free drinks during the day. I had a short massage and it was very relaxing, nice not having to leave the hotel for this service. There were washing machines but no dryers and no where to hang clothes. I arrived on 9th September and unfortunately they had closed the pool on the 7th September, although it was no longer summer it was still hot enough to swim so I was a little disappointed I did not get to enjoy this service. The hotel corridors also smelt extremely musty.

• Csaba (10/5): Picturesque view and peaceful luxury for those looking for traditional Japanese leisure - The main feature is obviously the perfect location: built onto the cliffs of Tsubasawa bay, providing a picturesque view from any point of the hotel, including the reception panorama window, the dining area, the onsen pools and the room windows. All built around the guests' peaceful and undisturbed leisure, the breakfast and dinner provide a wide variety of traditional Japanese seefood, incl. the bluefin tuna days, sashimi and sushi varieties. The rooms are spacey and comfortable (expecting a traditional Japanese tatami floor + futon bed interior), the tea ceremony set is a plus. The Tsubasawa beach is accessible right at the bottom of the hotel, providing an practically private beach. Some of the interior are noticeably old (e.g. bathroom taps, toilet bowl), but these all fit to the peaceful Japanese philosophy of the place (don't hurt what's still functioning well).

Our room had a very strong smell that was not pleasant. The dinner and breakfast have a all you-can-eat-buffet kind of vibe. Not what we were looking for but for some people it’s great. Onsen is is a big bath that’s not as relaxing as it could be.

• Jo (9/5): Superb - We opted for half board in Japanese style room. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was spacious. The buffet meals were excellent. Lovely sea views from rooms. Hotel frontage is nice and modern looking but inside the hotel, some areas are dated and need updating. The carpets are a bit tired and some paintwork is required on the room balcony. None of these things had any impact on our stay, which we really enjoyed but it may be good to know to manage some travellers' expectations.
• Liam (9/5): Absolutely loved this place for the views, the location, the food, the novelty, would happily return - Incredible views, very comfortable rooms, the hotel is fitted out in kind of an 80’s vibe which we loved. Free beer from 3pm-5pm which you can enjoy in front of an amazing view from the 7th floor. Breakfast is ok but the buffet dinner is incredible, unlimited sake, wine, beer and the food is next level - they cut the sashimi and make the sushi to order in front of you. Fresh crab, many other kinds of dishes. It’s pricey at ¥8,800 per person but worth it even if just for one night for the experience. Great staff and great Onsen too. Bottom floor of the hotel has kind of an abandoned/haunted arcade vibe, bit weird. You can walk down to the beach but the path down there is falling to bits and the beach is covered in rubbish. None of the pools were in action - out of season though so understandable.

• Lee (8/5): Pleasant, could be better - The view is amazing, watching the sun set. The service is good too. The buffet dinner has a good variety of food. However, the restaurant is quite crowded. The breakfast buffet is the usual Japanese. Should have more fresh fruits. Again, crowded.
• Desiree (9/5): Superb - Hotel feels like a Las Vegas luxury hotel - but with a much better location right at the Dogashima Coast and we were able to enjoy the view from our room. Many things to do here, e.g. playing with the kids table tennis, arcade, karaoke. They also offer massages. Breakfast buffet is very good and the view from the restaurant over the coastline amazing. Rooms were less spacious than other coastal hotels we visited on Izu, but the tatami beds were very comfortable.

The onsen was clean, with nice amenities and the same gorgeous views. The breakfast and dinner buffets were wonderful, and the futons were fluffy. Murayama San at the front desk was very kind and helpful. We would love to visit again!

Since then I can’t say the owners have been able to afford much of any repairs and the market for this has waned. So now the rates they can achieve don’t pay for the upkeep on such a place.

• Minton (10/5): Two-night stay for four, just before New Years 2024. Very relaxing and the staff were very helpful for meals outside the - Excellent staff support for our comfortable stay. Beautiful view. This is a perfect example of the family-style hot spring resort that is a more affordable experience based on the ryokan model. Personally, I love it for the amenities, large tatami rooms, buffet, hot springs and general sense of relaxation. New Ginsui is a perfect version of that style and exactly what I wanted. Loved it all.

The location is stunning with an amazing sunset view but moreover, the hotel itself looks like 1980's peak luxury, we felt like we were in a James Bond movie, one with Roger Moore! Of course, this is a ryokan as well so expect a confortable tatami room as a bedroom with a view on the sea (all rooms have a sea view), a delicious traditional japanese dinner includind all kinds of local dishes and a buffet (who doesn't love a buffet!), a superb 80's glory onsen open all night onlooking the sea and in the morning, a wonderful breakfast buffet composed mostly of japanese dishes but with a good amount of western options as well (there even was a soft serve machine at the breakfast buffet!). About the baths, we haven't asked if there was a tattoo policy but since me and my husband both have many of them and there was a lot of older guests staying the same night as us, we decided to go to the baths around 9-10pm and had absolutely no issues about it. The staff was wonderful, the location was wonderful, we thought everything was wonderful! We would go back anytime! I personally loved everything about this hotel but if you are looking for a trendy decor and a young clientele, this hotel is not for you.
• Maayan (9/5): We loved our stay there. It was fun and very beautiful - The view from the room was extremely beautiful. They have this great Onsen with a sea view. The hotel was nice and clean and the breakfast was very good. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. And they had a shuttle service to a near by attractions. They also had a nice indoor game rooms where you could play ping pong and such. They had free drinks most of the day and free beer for 2 hours each day The beach was rocky and a bit dirty so it wasn’t very pleasant to just lay on the beach. But it was beautiful never the less. Also the pool was out of service when we were there.

• TAKAYUKI (10/5): 絶対リピート！ - なんと言っても接客対応がバツグンに良かった。ほぼパーフェクトと言いたいところですが、入室時点でエアコンがついてなく部屋が蒸し暑かった。それ以外はスタッフ、お風呂のおじちゃん、プールの監視員、皆さん最高の接客でした。
• Svetlana (10/5): - Отель старый , но просторный. Очень вежливый и приветливый персонал. Бассейн не работал, дети были расстроены , так как не удалось поплавать в бассейне. А в общем нам все понравилось:)
• Shey (10/5): The most incredible view and service - This hotel had the most incredible view from our hotel room and the restaurant. I had the most restful sleep on the comfortable Japanese style futons and the staff were very attentive and kind, even giving the children gifts. We loved the onsen and massage services on site. I only wished the indoor pool was open for the children. Maybe it is drained this time of year, but it was a shame not to be able to use it. The outdoor pools were drained too.
• Emily (10/5): - I believe the hotel its self is relatively old but very clean. staffs were very nice. Very spacious lobby. AMAZING view from my room, dining hall, and the hot spring!
• Verified traveler (10/5): - The service by all staff was exceptional from the moment we arrived with a welcome drink & escort to our room. Dinner was exceptional- we had over 10 corses each night & the waiter explained all the dishes to us. I had asked for no raw fish & they prepared an outstanding replacement each night. The views from our room & the dining room were fantastic & the Onsen was the best of all the hotels we stayed at on our holiday.
