• Sophie-Madeleine (9/5): Absolut zum empfehlen - Die Unterkunft sieht aus, wie auf den Bildern. Wir haben das Hotel geliebt, dass Personal ist sehr hilfsbereit und vorallem Kinderfreundlich. Wir hatten immer einen Platz zum Liegen, am Pool und Strand. Der Strand ist sauber und weitläufig. Wir waren Ende April dort, es war sehr ruhig und hatte weniger Gäste. Aufgrund der Nebensaison. Das Sushi Restaurant auf dem Dach ist fantastisch;) beste Sushi gewesen!!!!!!!! Beim frühstück hatte man eine grosse, gute Auswahl. Da essen war etwas fad, dass war allerdings überall in srilanka so, wo es Western essen gab. Die Badezimmer haben modrig gerochen.

• Tawanlak (10/5): The best hotel in Hikkaduwa - Absolutely the best hotel experience in Hikkaduwa. Everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming, and professional from the moment we arrived. The service was exceptional — the staff helped carry our luggage, opened and closed the car doors for us, and paid attention to every little detail that made our stay feel truly luxurious. We were also pleasantly surprised with complimentary wine and a lovely tea gift set, which was such a thoughtful touch. During our stay, we tried dinner at both restaurants — the rooftop restaurant and the downstairs restaurant. The rooftop had breathtaking ocean views, delicious cocktails, and a beautiful atmosphere. The Japanese food was okay tho, but the overall experience and scenery were unforgettable. The beachfront view is stunning, and if you are visiting Hikkaduwa, do not miss the chance to stay here. Highly recommended! Breakfast was good ok though adding an English breakfast option in the future would make it even more perfect.

• Dylandari (10/5): Incredible views! - The Riff Hikkaduwa is a lovely boutique hotel set right on the beautiful beachfront of Hikkaduwa. The surrounding area is fairly quiet, with limited shops nearby, which adds to its relaxed atmosphere. It’s approximately a 30-minute drive to Galle for those wanting to explore more. The property itself is small, allowing for a more personalised and attentive level of service. The rooms are stunning—modern in design while still maintaining a laid-back beach aesthetic—and all offer ocean views. We enjoyed dinner on our balcony on the first night, which was a highlight. Breakfast is served à la carte with an extensive selection—far more than we could possibly try in one sitting. Compared to other places we stayed, food and beverages here were the most expensive, as were spa treatments like manicures and pedicures. That said, the food quality was excellent, and the spa staff were wonderful. There are plenty of banana lounges along the beach, although poolside seating is limited, with only about eight chairs available due to space constraints.

It's also a fine dining experience really, all the food was exceptional. Staff could not have done more for us. We want to come back! Not much really. Rooms are immaculate and want for nothing. Nothing really, the only minor thing I would say is that it can be a bit loud. As in if you are in your room, noise from corridors and sometimes other rooms is easy to hear.

The hotel is so beautifully designed, no plastics all eco / design slick, minimalist and elegant. The staff are really friendly and attentive. It is a small boutique hotel so the staff get to know you. The food is incredible and there is an amazing sushi restaurant on the top floor with a sunset bar. The sushi matches the best in London restaurants. The rooms are beautiful and all have sea views. The hotel is right on the beach in a stunning location. This was our 4th visit and we will be back.

The property is stunning with a perfect beachfront setting, beautifully designed interiors, and a really relaxing atmosphere throughout. The staff were exceptional, warm, attentive, and genuinely caring, which made a huge difference. We were also very grateful to receive a complimentary room upgrade, which made our stay even more special. The food, pool area, and overall vibe were all top class. A truly memorable experience. Honestly, there was very little to fault.

• Michalina (9/5): - Great staff, friendly and helpful. The rooms overlooking the sea are amazing, the view is worth the money. Just next to a wide beach, far from the city center, nice and calm. Lots of sunbeds on the beach + there is a nice pool with a great view. Excellent breakfasts a la carte, everything fresh and tasty. I stayed in 2 different rooms: the room on the ground floor was spacious with a great bathtub, but there was a bit of a smell from the bathroom and was located just next to the pool and dining area, which meant no view. Room on the 3rd floor had a spectacular view, however, as it was connected to a room next doors with those internal doors (locked when I was there), it could be a bit loud at times.

Attentive, warm, and incredibly professional without ever feeling intrusive. What really stood out was the team’s genuine commitment to guest comfort. We had a late flight, and despite checking out earlier in the day, they allowed us to continue using the hotel’s facilities. Being able to enjoy the pool and freshen up before heading to the airport made a world of difference and showed a level of hospitality that goes well beyond expectations. Riff delivers not only a stunning property and beautiful beachfront setting, but also a level of personalised service that is rare to find. Every detail felt considered and seamless. We will certainly return and highly recommend Riff Hikkaduwa to anyone looking for a luxury experience in Sri Lanka. Thanks for a great time.

We were at the hotel near christmas and it felt very festive - music and decorations. It was a shame we could not swim in sea directly in front of hotel. The Spa facilities were very basic.
• Seaside691658 (10/5): Sri Lanka,s Paradise - Excellent and amazing stay, and opens onto the beach, very large pool, and seating area, with uninterrupted views of the sand and sea, this is a sun and beach lovers heaven. Staff extremely helpful, restaurant food is very tasty and cater for foreign and Sri Lankan taste buds, they also have a Japanese cuisine restaurant on the roof deck, with live music. The air-conditioned rooms are spotless with everything you need, I my self was outstanded what Sri Lanka has to offer, and the generosity of the local people is truly impeccable. If Sri Lanka is on your bucket list, then this hotel is a must!!!!

• Craig (9/5): Romantic luxury hotel in a quiet area with a lovely beach and pool. - Room was great and met expectations. I had room 207 which was in the middle and gave an excellent view of the pool and beach. Breakfast was really nice, room service was efficient and tasty (although staff didnt know the menu and told me items were not on the menu, I had to send them a picture to show them). Didnt use the roof top bar but it looked like a good spot for sunset drinks and the same for the Japanese restaurant on the same level. Beach was clean and nice but not for surfing, which was further up towards Hikkaduwa. Quiet area but with not much around in the way of shopping etc but that was a three minute tuk tuk ride away, perfect for me. Pool was clean and refreshing. Usual Eastern Europeans going and reserving sun lounges before breakfast and not using them for hours on end. Very frustrating to not have one available and then watch a lonely towel and sunscreen sit there for a few hours while the selfish owner went on a day trip. For my two cents you need a clear policy stating towels will be removed and personal items placed in a basket for collection after 30 minutes of non use, and signage so there is equal access for all guests. It was peak season so may not be an issue at other times.

• Eberhard (10/5): Wir hatten eine unglaublich schöne und erholsame Zeit und hoffen mal wieder dort Urlaub machen zu können - Das Personal ist außergewöhnlich freundlich und gastfreundlich. Wir hatten ein paar individuelle Wünsche auf die man ganz besonders gut eingegangen ist. Die Küche im Main Restaurant hatte es uns sehr angetan. Die Karte ist abwechslungsreich, das Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist sehr stimmig.
• Peter (10/5): Great beach vacation! - The location was excellent, the rooms were clean and comfortable! The beach was wonderful. It was a honeymoon and they gave us a cake. The waters can be a bit rough at certain tails of day. The room wasn't ready on arrival, they did give us complementary drinks and food while we waited but what we really wanted was to get changed and enjoy the beach.

• novellizaza (10/5): NOTES OF EXCELLENCE - Conversely to other hotels, Riff's management is visible, gentle and is actively working to meet guests requests.  Mr. Indika, Resident Manager and Mr. Raymond, General Manager, are proactive and committed to satisfy the guests.  Fast-responding and smiling staff is forming - at any level - an efficient team.  Terrific ocean sunsets are visible (around 05h30PM), every evening,  from the roof top terrace of the Riff hotel, while enjoying an aperitif or a dinner at the adjacent Japanese Restaurant.  Spacious rooms (we had room 102) with balcony and ocean view and 2 Design Suites with big bathrooms and  separate basins.  There is a SPA with balinese massages, performed by two balinese ladies.  Before taking the stairs down to the Indian ocean which is warm with waves suitable for surfing, you will find the inviting swimming pool.  Tasty and healthy "a la carte breakfasts" are served with fast service, around the same swimming pool.  The sandy clean beach is having huge sun ombrellas and bed chairs, sufficient for all the guests.  Capt. Jaye, in light blue suit, is the eagle-eyed lifeguard and is employed by the Riff. The perfect organization and friendly staff is creating a lovely atmosphere for honey-mooneers.
