Guest Reviews

- Tomas (10/5): Exceptional - We did not stay in Reina Sofia in the end as there was some king of water leakage from upstairs. We were offered another place, very nice, cosy and super located. Staff was very helpful. The only problem, but not caused by the accomodation, was that right under pur window was a city tent with some auitw noisy videos… it was there just for a couple of days…
- Scott (10/5): Wonderful stay in Madrid! - First, location. This apartment is right in the middle of Lavapies. 15 minutes walk from Plaza Mayor and Gran Via. 3 minutes to the Metro. The neighborhood is filled with diverse and delicious restaurants: Indian/Pakistani, African, Asian, and of course, typical Spanish. Lots of neiborhood bars and restaurants to choose from.
Second, the apartment. It is very quiet inside. Easy access with electronic and physical keys. It is quite large, with confortable furniture. The beds are very comfortable as well. A/C and ceiling fans in every room. The kitchen is equipped with everything you might need. The dishwasher and washing machine are great additions.
The host was very easy to work with, and was able to allow us an early check-in.
Overall great stay, and we would stay here again!
- Veneta (10/5): Exceptional -

- Chiara (9/5): Great place and location - The property was clean and just like in the pictures. The building is not renovated but it’s calm and no issues were encountered.
In the apartment we found cutlery, plates, boiler, etc. all the necessary to have breakfast at home and even pads for the dishwasher and washing machine.
The location seemed wicked coming from Atocha–Atocha station but it’s actually 2 minutes away from Lavapies metro station, in a 10-min walking distance from many many bars and restaurants. Optimal if you like walking to visit the city. The checkin process required us to sign a proper contract and everyone had to even take a selfie, which is professional I guess but found it a bit too much at the beginning of a holiday.
Minor detail: No sugar, oil etc are available, would be fantastic to have them especially when staying for a few days.
- Martin (8/5): A comfortable and convenient apartment for three or four people. - It was very spacious with two bedrooms and two bathrooms - excellent for sharing with a friend. It was well equipped and in a good location, close to a Metro station and shops. Very clean and pleasant. Smallish things - bedside lights not working, lack of instructions about equipment and recycling.
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mirjana (9/5): Superb -
- Silvia (10/5): ¡Vale! Madrid’s funnest part of town - The apartment was large and lovely decorated. It had all amenities needed. Great communication with the host. We loved the high ceilings. The mattress was divine. A Carrefour shop was 3 minutes away. It was open 24/7. There are so many bars and restaurants around. La Reina Sofia museum was near. As was the lovely Retiro park; a must for a morning jog! Apparently there was some inside renovation going on in the inside courtyard, so it was very dark. Also the noise from the street can be annoying, especially from Wednesday through Saturday. But just close the windows. The area is super lively, which is awesome, just sometimes a bit much during the nights.
- Volker (9/5): Great stylish flat for a group of four -
- Viktor (9/5): Very good apartment - Very spacious apartment, great hosts, good communication, good value for money, good beds, everything you need in an apartment. We were struggeling with (both) front door keys. There were times we thought we will not be able to get into the building, and then someone came and opened the door for us. Location (personal preference) is perfectly ok, but next time we would probably choose something more close to Gran Via.
- Grishma (8/5): Very good -
- Tess (10/5): brilliant - amazing facilities, so clean, good staff that communicated well, good location for public transport and amenities. apartment has everything you could need only minor issue was it’s difficult to open the door to the building and the apartment. it’s quite stiff so takes a few attempts each time you try to open them (4 of us tried and all had difficulty)
- Ann (10/5): Great place to spend a few days exploring Madrid - it had everything we needed, very comfortable, great location .
- Haluk (10/5): Exceptional - GREAT BREAKFAST
- Johanna (8/5): Facility was excellent, but hosts totally, totally absent; did not even answer whatsapp messages - Not included Hosts were not at the property, as they promised, upon our arrival. Had to get someone local to call them to bring the keys as we had no ability to contact them, just arriving from abroad.
The online check-in was EXTREMELY cumbersome and I will NEVER want to book a place with the same cumbersome check-in system
- Nicole (10/5): Exceptional - The host communication was second to none. Apartment was wonderful will definitely be back. Nothing !
- Oana (6/5): Pleasant - -nice location
-nice beds -awful online check in process (you are required a lot of info for every person that will stay there like photo of ID, selfie, signature...seems a bit too much+required extra debit/credit card even if payment was done fully in advance).
-250 EUR guarantee (this is why the card data is required at check in) that I found out about after paying for the apartment (this should be mentioned upfront, as not accepting to pay it meant to loose the money paid for booking the apartment).
-for returning the 250 EUR I had to contact them to remind about it.
-door at the entrance in the building very hard to unlock.
-bedroom doors do not work properly so it was a bit difficult to have privacy.
-no WIFI password available (it is not that hard to put a printed paper with it...)
- Poppy (8/5): Great stay but very noisy - Love the spacious flat , comfy beds It was really noisy on the roads and also internally in the flats, people coming and going and shouting all night, we didn’t sleep well due to how noisy it was
- Janice (8/5): Very good -
- Liz (10/5): Would definiyly recommend - Location was excellent near metro and 24 hour supermarket close by. We have never stayed in apartment with such good wifi. The staff were amazing great at communicating. The lady who looked after us was just amazing amazing amazing nothing
- Shirley (10/5): amazingly beautiful😊😊😊 - everything👏👏👏 nothing to mention😊😊😊
- Rachael (1/5): We only stayed in the flat a couple of hours and then had to find alternative accommodation - the flat appeared clean and comfortable on check in. However I then went to use the shower in the master bedroom ensuite and a large cockroach ran out of the shower drain - and into the main bedroom, eventually hiding behind the wardrobe. We were not happy staying in a flat with a cockroach problem as everything we read said that a) there would be more and b) they are a health hazard and we were afraid of being bitten at night whilst we slept. Unfortunately MadFlats the owners, were very unhelpful - we tried to get agreement to move into a much smaller flat that was vacant but they said it couldn't be opened up, and offered no other suggestions when I said we could not stay in the flat. We ended up going across Madrid at 10.30pm and booking into a 1 room hotel room for the family rather than the 2 bedroom luxury apartment we had paid for - and for which we have received no refund. I appreciate that cockroaches can appear in clean flats but am concerned by MadFlats' lack of response on this matter. We used 2 other booking.com properties on this holiday and had excellent experiences with both but I cannot recommend this property until the cockroach problem is cleared up.
