• Louise McPhee (6/5): Location great, accommodation ok but did not meet expectations. - Location was beautiful. So quiet and pretty. A good place to take a dog to stay. The flat was very clean and the bed and pillows very comfy. Clean and bright kitchen , good shower. comfy sofa. It was little things that added up to it not quite living up to expectations. No where to put a glass on next to the sofa, The lighting was not good. One very poor lamp in the living room or full on over head spotlights. Not very atmospheric. In the bedroom there was a bedside lamp but no where to plug it in. No dressing table or anywhere to sit to put on make up or dry hair. Had to sit on the floor by the one long mirror. Couldn't open the window in the bedroom once i had stood on the bed to reach it... Would have liked a good sized bath towel. There were no towel racks or rails in the bathroom so towels had to be hung on doors to dry. We just felt the whole thing felt tired. Apart from the kitchen and the newly painted bedroom and the bed, nothing matched and just felt like much of the furniture was past it's sell by date. It was a shame. Not big things and easy to fix,but I was disappointed.

• Nic (10/5): Beautiful! - It was lovely and clean, nice and quiet. Just as it was pictures. The beds were nice and comfy as well. The kids absolutely loved watching the rabbits in the back garden too. Completely personal nothing to do with the apartment itself, but I struggle with stairs and there were a few too many for me at times. However I booked knowing this so it's my own fault. Regardless of this, I'd still stay again as we have a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

• Celine (4/5): Overall a big disappointment, if the communication and customer service was as good as the location of this property, it - Stunning location, right on the river amidst fields and weeping willow tree. Very peaceful The property is unfortunately quite dated; as soon as you walk in there is a very musty, old smell and the bin smelled very bad. The sofa has seen better days, very old and cracked. The bed could also do with renewing and pillows flat as pancakes. Sadly the most disappointing part of the stay were the staff. We had conflicting information about check out times (12pm on booking.com and 11am on private message from property). The night before checkout I texted to confirm, and they confirmed 12pm. The following day from 09:45 we had cleaning supplies deposited outside the bungalow, and a woman hovering around the bungalow and actually staring at us through the window for an hour (way before checkout time). This was so weird! It made us feel extremely uncomfortable, given that this is a very private area. At 11am she came to the door telling us to leave because she had to clean, I had to inform her that I had confirmation we could check out at 12pm. She huffed and walked away. I relayed this to the owners and they could not seem to understand what our issue was with this. They came back to us stating that we should display some understanding, and we were then accused of not paying the dog fee, which we were not aware of. This was a bizarre accusation because the owner had arrived at the bungalow for payment of the whole stay on our first day and charged us for the stay. He was approached by our dog and therefore he knew we had a dog and obviously didn’t charge us. This dog fee should have been mentioned at the time, by the owner, and we would have happily paid. Overall terrible communication, very defensive and poor levels of understanding. Did not make for a very pleasant stay and we left feeling extremely disappointed.
• Feigenspan (7/5): - Die Lage war sehr sehr schön. Hunde sind auch sehr willkommen. Die Wohnung war extrem hellhörig. Wir hatten mehrere laute Bewohner über uns. Die Toilette hat beim benutzen gewackelt, das Regal über der Toilette hing runter und das Bett hat bei jeder kleinsten Bewegung extrem quitscht und war mit einem Stein unter dem Bett abgestützt.
• Clive (10/5): We had a relaxing week with the dogs with comfortable accommodation on farmland. - Quiet site with easy parking, Pleasant view from upstairs window.Paul was very helpful and friendly.A most enjoyable stay and would happily stay again.Dogs welcome and large field for them to run free at back of property. • Stephen (4/5): Not overly impressed - There was no breakfast offered This place is on what seems like a working farm. Spoke to an individual that seemed like the owner upon my arrival. Very basic accommodation furniture seemed like it was picked up at boot sales or charity shops. My hearing is not the best my family suggests i need hearing aids. SO if I can hear the people upstairs snoring there is a problem. Also very noisy when people are home upstairs just walking around. This doesn't seem like a vacation spot more like a place for tradesman to crash whilst working in this area. I would not book this again.

A little hot in the property at night but a fan was already provided and we slept well. Very interesting location with lakes formed out of the previous watercress beds.

Got woken up one morning by banging on windows which was windows cleaners. Tv was little and far away from sofa someone who short sited wasn't ideal.

• Trevor (7/5): Pleasant basic apartment, suitable for short stay. - Clean bedding. Plenty of electrical sockets. Quiet location. Clean but most furnishings old or generally tired. Bed frame a little small for 6ft man. Bathroom finishing could be easily improved. No bathroom ventilation. Door entrance should, at a minimum, have foam installed to prevent head damage. Torch required when moving between car and door during darkness. One heater didn't work but that supplied was adequate for moderate time of year. Didn't meet host. Guidance should recommend which road to use, and state avoidance of a particularly narrow single lane to property.

• Brian (7/5): Für ein kurze Trip gut; weil es gibt vieles die nahe.wegen die ich Nachbarin habe ich mich richtig geärgert - Gut . wir waren die ganze Tage unterwegs nur abends und morgens da. Wir hatten alles da was wir brauchten. Umgebung schön . Die Wohnung ist Natural kein 5 Sterne ,aber Mikrowelle war nicht sauber. Und die Heizung hat nicht wirklich funktioniert. Das größte Problem waren die Nachbarin über uns .die ab 11 Uhr abends fingen an viel zu laufen in die Wohnung welche sehr hellhörig war , und waren sehr laut. Auch morgens ging deren Wecker un 6-30 und keine hat es aus gemacht. Mit Kinder ist das ärgerlich.

• Anne Marie (1/5): Ongezellig appartement - Niks Buiten zitten tussen zwarte muren, de Tefal pannen waren totaal versleten, er waren geen kleine lampjes, alleen een paar grote, er lag kapot bestek in de la. Geen tafeltjes voor de koffiekopjes. We hoorden de buren praten en snurken.
• Louis (7/5): Mooie locatie maar helaas geen privacy door medewerkers die zomaar binnenkomen - Prachtige locatie De medewerkers welke geen enkel respect voor je privacy hebben lopen zo bij je binnen en bij je in het tuintje wat afgesloten is en bij de accomodatie hoort. Helaas gebeurde dit herhaaldelijk.

• anthony (9/5): Lovely 1 Bed Bungalow perfect setting for a few days stay - Lovely clean bungalow, plenty of room for the 3 of us. Beautiful setting and very easy to find with clear instructions from owners. Easy location to drive out from. Minster Leas beach was very nice and people very friendly. Had a very pleasant stay. A few things could do with updating mainly the sofa bed and as others have said the very heavy table to be moved infront of the sofa but otherwise everything was fine for us . Would stay again
• Louise (8/5): cute little stay - Good location and price for what we needed - lovely countryside setting kitchen could do with an update really, few broken things but nothing that caused any bother to us. wifi was not really usable as kept cutting out and was very unstable, relied on my phone signal over the wifi which wasn’t ideal.
• Trinet R (8/5): - Het appartement was binnen heel mooi. Was wel een beetje krappe slaapkamer. Buiten alleen een klein platje voor de deur met een stenen bank. Zelf stoelen uit de 'tuin' gepakt. Het meer is mooi en de locatie was voor ons doorslaggevend (dichtbij familie) Van buiten ziet het er allemaal beetje vervallen uit. Veel oude rommel, stapels stenen, afgebladderde kozijnen en deuren. Geen contact gehad met eigenaar. Er hingen briefjes en je kreeg code van sleutelkluisje. Wespennest aan de buitenzijde gaf veel angstaanjagende geluiden binnen, alsof er elk moment honderden wespen uit het stopcontact zouden komen (wat gelukkig niet gebeurde).

• Andrew (8/5): A great venue in need of a little TLC - The venue was just as required - out of the way and away from everything. The beds were very comfy and the place was generally clean and tidy The venue looked a little 'tired' and as if it needed a good bit of TLC to fix small issues. There was a lack of 'niceties' such as a decent range of cooking utensils and pots\pans that didn't look well used; accessories for cooking such as sharp knives that were sharp, foil, basic seasonings; cleaning materials such as sprays, cloths, toilet rolls; not enough plates, mugs, glasses, cutlery - what was there also did not match or had chips in.

• Attila (10/5): Wonderful apartment surrounded by nature - Wonderful large apartment! Very rural, although so close to Greater London area. Surrounded by quiet nature, perfect place to relax, lots of car parking space, and a very friendly and supportive owner. I don't want to write this in "what didn't you like?" part of the review, because it'doesn't belong there, it's just a reminder to anyone reading this that it's a rural, farm like location with all its accompanying symptoms: The apartment we had was surrounded by some small wasp nests situated under the roof tiles. They posed no danger as they only were on their final approach. But one should pay attention regarding open drinks, food, and a closed apartment door.

• Anna (9/5): Super relaxing retreat at Watercress Barns - rabbits, birds, butterflies and beautiful countryside - Watercress Barns is the perfect rural retreat - it's a joy to hear nothing but birds, and to watch the rabbits, butterflies and many species of birds, whilst staying there. The flat is set up to have everything needed for a short stay, and dogs are very welcome. I used it as a base to visit family in Kent and do nice walks with my dog along the Saxon Shore Way and other places. The flat got a bit hot as it is upstairs, and when it was 25 degrees outside and sunny it became a little too hot for my dog. The host left a fan in the appartment which helped, along with keeping the curtains closed.

Starting from the contact with the host before arrival (they were very responsive and ready to help at any time) and ending with the property itself which was simply terrific. Sittingbournes a quiet small city with the train station in 10-minute walking distance from the Watercress Barns. Rooms are spacious, the parking is provided. Every room had its own heater which might be important in colder periods. The train to London takes 1h. The apartment was clean, well-maintained and had everything we need for our stay. I recommend this especially for families with kids where you don't have to worry about traffic. I wish I spent there more time, frankly speaking. It was a pleasure to stay there.

• Beverley (8/5): peaceful and restful break - the location is very peaceful and quiet except for the early dawn chorus the large chairs were comfortable but very hot in the weather we experienced I think it would be more suitable to have smaller chairs covered in material but I do appreciate these can be more difficult to keep clean
