Guest Reviews
- Grosjean (7/5): Nice overall but very noisy! - Staff were lovely (shout out to Bouchra), the rooms were nice (albeit a bit small with no windows), breakfast was nice too - mixture of Moroccan & European. Super location (once you find it), right in the Oudaya, next to the Kasbah and the Andalousian gardens. The noise! You can hear everyone/thing and they can hear you too. The doors and walls are very thin so you can hear everything going on inside and outside (the cafe right above with the singer, for example)
Warning! Not a place for honeymooners if you know what I mean...
Me.

- Rayan (10/5): - Excellent séjour durant la CAN !

- Zebian (10/5): - Very cute Riad. In a cool area in Rabat
- Ronan (10/5): -
- Daniela (10/5): -
- Philipp (10/5): - Very cozy place in the Medina with a extraordinary View on the Terrace. The Hosts were extremely friendly and breakfast is great and tasty. Would totally recommend! -
- Claes (5/5): - Fantastisk beliggendhed
- George (10/5): A beautiful hotel with stunning views. - A beautiful hotel.
My room was bright and spacious and spotlessly clean.
Breathtaking views from the terraces over Wadi Bou Regreg and Rabat.
I must apologise for not recalling the name of the wonderful lady who provide me with two excellent breakfasts, a great deal of assistance in other ways, and for tolerating my ineptitude when using the front door key!!
Very highly recommended.
- Eliane (10/5): -
- M A (8/5): A great location - in the beautiful Casbah, next to the medina - Breakfast was delicious The terrace could be used more e.g for breakfast
- Rory-James (7/5): Wonderful location but misleading when it comes to room allocation - Wonderful location and very good views from the terrace. The property doesn’t differentiate between the 5 rooms available and there is no way in which you can pre-book the only room with a direct view of the sea/marina. We were allocated the ground floor room which was initially a disappointment as we had really hoped we could’ve got the best view and the ground floor had no external view at all. That being said the room itself was really nice and we really liked the traditional features which really gave our stay a positive. My only suggestion is for the hosts to reconsider room allocation or to lower the price for the rooms without a view.
- Clark (10/5): - Madame was ever helpful and full of advice. She arranged transfer to and from airport. Breakfast was fantastic. My room Barberrousse had a spectacular sea view. I felt happy and content to stay at the Riad, enjoy the terrace to read a book and drink the del la menthe. But I did visit the nearby Andalusian Garden, Adournment Museum and Souk. The beach seemed a bit too far for me but no regrets. Read a book cover to cover in 2 days. And left it for a next traveller.
- John (9/5): - Lovely rooms, fabulous location. Checked in at 3am which was accommodated. Throughout the stay, Bouchra was very helpful and considerate.
- Cloé (9/5): -
- Benjamin (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful location, excellent staff, elite level breakfast.
- Lois (9/5): A lovely stay in the crown jewel of Morocco -Rabat - This lovely, modern guesthouse is a bit tricky to find but worth the effort. Simple and minimalist in design, the lovely terrace can’t be beat for an exceptional view of the water. Breakfast was generous and exceptional. The staff kind and willing to help with anything.
- Germana (6/5): Pleasant -
- Cecile (9/5): Superb -
- Stephane (9/5): Superb -
- Wolfgang (8/5): Great stay, highly recommended. - Great location, nice view, good service. One room was a little bit cold (december)
- Abdulaziz (10/5): I’ll book in the same place when i visit Rabat next time - The view are stunning and lovely stuff, also breakfast was very delicious and authentic Car parking is a bit far from the accommodation, we need to walk through madeina for about 5-7 minutes
- Karim (1/5): Bad -
- Deborah (10/5): Exceptional - Dar Korsan contacted me the day before my stay to say they had to move me to a sister property, Riad Kaala. This was actually a free upgrade to a magical Riad in Rabat.
- Sabah (9/5): Superb - Room was very clean. Breakfast was good. Ocean sounds at night. How far it was from souk. Not recommended for older or people who have issues with walking up and down hills and steps.
- Gwendolyn (10/5): I’d recommend this Riad to others. - Location was great- the view was awesome! Staff were delightful. Breakfast was delicious.
- Islam (9/5): Superb - Location , breakfast Parking
- Dipta (10/5): Excellent - View from the bed. You can see Oued Bou Regreg. Breakfast was all homemade. Location was walkable to Old Médina Market & Rabat Ville Train Station (20 mins) Inside property all is good no complaints.
- Debbie (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was exceptional; location, staff, room, and service. Gorgeous breakfast, helpful staff. Don't look further than this place....you won't beat it!
- Ahmed (9/5): Superb - Bouchra and Fatima were great hosts and super generous. The breakfast was also very delicious.
- Ioannis (9/5): Superb - Amazing place, in the most beautiful corner of Rabat. Very clean, great view from the terrace and tasty breakfast Nothing
- Carol (8/5): - It was fine.
- Lidia (10/5): Exceptional - The owner was great. He gave us a better room. The hotel is beautifully furnished. The best breakfast we had in Morocco out of 4 other locations.
- Heidi (10/5): Just georgeous - Everything. Stayed in the most georgeous room with sea wiev even from the shower. Beautiful interiour. Breakfast was amazing! Great location
- Debra (10/5): Lovely place from which to explore the clean and welcoming city of Rabat! - Location, breakfasts, roof top terrace. Nadin gave us tea and cookies when we arrived before our room was ready, and then checked to see if we could change into the room with a view of the river and we DID!!! Bouchra makes great crepes and omelettes for breakfast! room was small but access to the comfortable rooftop terrace made the stay pleasurable.
- Daniel (10/5): like sleeping in the sky - The service of the stuff - excpecially the good soul of Dar Korsan - Mm. Bouchra let us feel like we are staying in a family. She is a guest keeper in best meaning of the word.
- Sameer (1/5): Terrible place. Tiny rooms. Unwelcoming people - Location is good, but there is absolutely nothing nearby. If you need something, be prepared to walk/taxi for miles. We believe the ratings on booking.com and elsewhere are fake. Or maybe they have paid someone for it - in no possible way this property has such a high rating. I have travelled quite a lot and booked with several companies. This is the first time, I'm writing a negative review. The money they charge vs the value they provide do NOT match. Don't expect something amazing. The room they allocated might as well be called a closet. It could simply contain one double bed and space to walk for 1 person. There was no space on the floor to pray.
If you come in late, they will give you annoying looks, so be prepared to be judged.
The breakfast lady will give you a paid-for inclusive breakfast as if she is doing you a favour.
- Franziska (9/5): amazing stay - great view & location, very tasty breakfast, nice bath utensils,
- Myriam (9/5): lovely dream - Impeccable R À S
- Elsa (10/5): A great find in the Kasbah. - Warm welcome by the host. Delicious substantial breakfast. Comfy mattress in the room.
Great location to stroll through the Kasbah. I especially loved the view from my cute room and from the terrace.
A charming and welcoming place. Nothing.
- Geetanjali (8/5): Very good - Location, view from room Language barriers
- Olakemi (8/5): - For context, I stayed here for a week whereas I believe that people often stay for shorter time periods. The place is nice, a lovely terrace plus the team are really friendly.
It is misleading to say that the team speak English; we managed using Google translate and very basic language words, but some conversations were challenging.
There was a large issue with ants, which were visible up walls and in the dining area. I did raise this and received assurances but it put me off asking about the spa services.
The team were really attentive, but did need to know specific times as to when you wanted breakfast, so this might not suit all.
There's a lot of pollution, dog and cat mess nearby, which of course isn't the fault of the hotel but unfortunately doesn't give a good first impression.
I would stay again as a solo traveller but know that some of my family and friends wouldn't stay for the reasons above.
- Leslie (10/5): Beautiful Riad - Maria is beautiful. He’s are all very happy to see these details. They served lunch when we got there because we were on a tight schedule. Which everyone enjoyed very much. Breakfast was great too. The staff does not speak much English, but we were able to communicate. And they were very accommodating and welcoming.
- Natalie (10/5): Nice stay - Very nice hotel. A bit hard to find as there are no signs on the streets (good for aesthetics!) The hostess was very nice and breakfast was very good.
- Yassine (6/5): Pleasant - Moldy room
- David (10/5): - Very nice and pleasant stay in Rabat.
- Carlos (7/5): Good - Great location in the heart of the old city. Amazing views from the terrace.
Good place for working remotely (not sure if internet is strong enough for video calls)
Very nice Moroccan breakfast.
Very friendly staff willing to help anytime I stayed in one room located in the ground floor, which has no windows to any outdoors space, but two big windows facing the lobby, still there are some privacy as there are blackout curtains available. However if you wanna keep your windows closed, there's limited ventilation.
It seems that this is normal in some riads so once I realised, it wasn't a concern anymore for me.
When you arrive, you need to ring the bell (key for front door is not provided), which may disturb some people's rest in the late evening if you're located in the ground floor when other guests arrive late.
- Karina (9/5): Superb - Nice to have a view towards the water and that the Riad is located in a beautiful and clear part of the medina.
- Christine (9/5): Beautiful stay - There is a terrace with a wonderful view on the sea. The breakfast was always very lovely. I also loved the products in the bathroom which were the nicest on our whole Morocco tour. It is a bit tricky to find, even with Google maps it doesn’t work as the address doesn’t correspond with the one showing on booking. Also the room was a bit small.
- marita (10/5): Best breakfast in Morocco, beautiful river view - Absolutely beautiful view and excellent location. The staff was very friendly. This is a chain of riads in Rabat, I think that Dar Korsan by far is the best location since it's right by the river. The other ones also seemed a bit too modern and touristy for my taste, but Dar Korsan stayed quaint and authentic. The facilities were excellent. By far, the best breakfast we had on the trip as well.
Note to watch out for scam-tourist guides. Agree on a price in the beginning of the tour. 500 dirham is often an entire monthly wage for some people, so keep that in mind. Also, it seems that people in Rabat might be more conservative than the rest of Morrocco, a few people were upset to be filmed in public ("no photo, no photo!")
- CLIVE (10/5): -
- Allan (10/5): Ideal location! - Spectacular views of the water! The staff were very helpful with reception and parking help. Lovely linens and beds too. Easy walking to many tourist attractions.
- Evandro (1/5): I should have moved to another place on the first day. - The rooftop has a nice view. Only 1 room has a view - and they are all at the same price - you will be the lucky one if that is yours. On the first day, we were placed in a small, humid -THE BED WAS HUMID -, and unventilated room right behind the check-in desk - SEE THE VIEW ON THE PICTURES. The toilet was leaking. In the morning we woke up and stepped on the water on the toilet floor, plus we had to take cold showers because the hot water was apparently over - seems the policy here is also 1 towel per couple. I mentioned this was not the room we booked and that we would not stay there under this condition. They told me I should pay for the whole reservation if I decide to leave. The staff speaks only French and Arabic, so it was a hard conversation - plus they always replied in French and we don't speak French. After a call with the owner, they arranged another room upstairs, which was a bit better (still not the promised view and also had problems with the shower). On the second day, the badly maintained door broke and locked us inside the room. The receptionist had no help from anyone and tried to break the door - I was feeling bad for her. Finally, I managed to pick the door with a knife to get out of the room. There is no room service, they do not change the wet towels, no free water, and do not allow fresh air in the room. You have to call them for the check-in to find the place because the address is not found on Maps. At the check-out, they tried to charge me 20% more than the price shown on Booking.com. Again another call with the owner to fix that - took me 30 minutes. The breakfast is OK - it is not great - and it is served in a small room at the side of the stairs. The best you can do is to bring the coffee and have it on the rooftop if the weather allows it.
- Ali (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gim (7/5): Good location but no sign indicated from Kasbah entrance, neither GPS can locate. - The room has a window that facing the River mouth and awesome view of Hassan Tower from afar The toilet is always wet due to the shower head is at the middle of bath/toilet room. laundry services is expensive.
- Niu (6/5): Pleasant - Noisy. The room isn’t sound-proof. The staff only speaks French
- Esra (3/5): Poor - Location is fine if you want to be near the sea. The lady understanded everything l said in English but keep answering in French like we know French. And all she said was "no" actually. She show us a room literally behind the reception deskand with a window looking the desk. When l said that we can not stay that dump, cement smelling and obviously noisy room, she didn't give us our passport until the booking.com staff said so.
- Charles (10/5): An excellent start to our Moroccan journey! - Location was perfect for walking to most of the main sights. Nothing
- Camilla (10/5): Exceptional - Everithing was excellent .
The Rihad was wonderful , the best room I have ever had .
And the receptionist we had in the rihad was the best!! She was super sweet and ready to help us in our requests and questions. Couldn’t ask for a better place and host.
And the view was stunning!!
- Sharif (10/5): - The location is great. Bouchera the place’s manager is great. She is very helpful and made everything easy for me.
- M. (8/5): Very good - Great breakfast. Considerate staff. The room was clean, but could have been refreshed before I arrived.
- Louise (8/5): - The woman who works at the best was so pleasant and friendly! She went above and beyond to help us with finding options for food and other activities. Thank you so much!
- Laure (10/5): - Lovely little Riad in the heart of the Ouyadas with a beautiful view on the river and a wonderfully nice staff.
Couldn’t ask for more
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I liked the location. But, the rooms are very hot and no air conditioning units.
- Jose (10/5): Central place walking distance to many atractions - Great central place within walking distance to most tourist atractions. Right on the water, great sea breeze at night.
- Louis (10/5): - It is a very unique place to stay located atop the ramparts of the Kasbah of the Udayas, Rabat. There you will find amazing views, and wonderful neighborly residents. Very laid back. The manager Mohssin answered our every wish to insure our stay was great! He helped us many times including a ride to the airport at 2:30 am when our cab became unavailable, and had breakfast ready before departure, way above and beyond our expectations. The services provided by the hotel staff (Naima) is excellent, tea and breakfast warmly prepared and personally presented, anything you may need; a walking tour with Hicham ( I recommend), food prepared for your party, carrying luggage to and from your taxi, beaches with a place to surf... It was our first time in Morocco and the warm welcome and comfort here made us feel content and well at home immediately. Comfy beds and large soft towels a definite plus after 14 days touring in Europe long naps were in order. I would more than highly recommend Dar Korsan as a home away from home. We loved it and are planning on staying there again. Shukraan jazilaan (thank you) Mohssin and see you all soon!
- Selwyn (10/5): - We felt we were in the heart of Rabat. Dar Korsan is a classic property in the Kasbah. The room was very comfortable, clean, great bed, great shower.
The staff went above and beyond to ensure a perfect stay. The breakfast was excellent ensuring a great start to the day.
